The plan is widely seen as an attempt to transform his top priority health care plan from a political liability into a trump card to outwit Republicans who have built their resurgence on blanket opposition. Obama aimed to tap into a new supply of political support arising from the recent decision by Anthem Blue Cross of California to raise premiums by as much as 39 per cent from March 1. His plan on Monday proposes going further than the existing House and Senate bills and giving the federal government new powers to block what is deemed excessive rate increases by health insurance companies. It grants the federal health and human services secretary the power to review and block such increases and calls for the creation of a new Health Insurance Rate Authority made up of health industry experts. 'The president's proposal strengthens this policy by ensuring that, if a rate increase is unreasonable and unjustified, health insurers must lower premiums, provide rebates, or take other actions to make premiums affordable. 'A new Health Insurance Rate Authority will be created to provide needed oversight at the federal level and help states determine how rate review will be enforced and monitor insurance market behaviour,' it said. My daughter's husband is filing for divorce. They have a little boy almost 3yrs. old. Son in law trying to sell home he acquired before they met. He makes living at home a living hell, but she will not leave without her son and he won't let her leave with son. He controls everything. He acquired an attorney to draw up divorce papers and knows she can't afford one so he says everything is going to be his way. He has slowly been trying to drive her crazy and holds her depression against her. They have credit card debt which he says he will pay off when the house sells. He has always made good money, driven nice cars, and worn nice clothes all of which he got her accustomed to. He is probably pulling in about $70,000 -$80,000 thousand a month and says they are broke. He says she gambles, we go to play quarter bingo on the Monday's that was her day off, big deal. He tries to make it sound like he does everything at home, cleaning, his laundry, cooking and so on. He has criticized her on everything she does so she quit doing for him. I am writing to ask if anyone knows what happens to property you owned before you were married. I have been married for 4 years to an American permanent resident here in Australia. Our relationship has deteriorated mainly due to emotional abuse - my animals have been threatened, I am constantly denigrated and my husband always threatens to force me to sell my house if we break up. We live on my income, have no kids and are both in our 50s. Due to a workplace injury, I cannot work anymore but I have a defined superannuation that we live on. I have owned my house for over 20 years and it is fully paid off, my name is also the only one on the title. My parents gave me the deposit to buy it many years ago and they also gave me $80,000 to help pay it off. My husband does not work and apart from some unfinished painting has done little around the house. I am still paying off a credit card bill he ran up when he worked for 8 months, 2 years ago. He has destroyed my possessions when he gets angry which is why I am too scared to leave him in the house without me here. There are alot of people who say that suicide is a really selfish act, I feel it can be one of the most unselfish acts DEPENDING on the individual's situation. I will already be expecting religious individuals voicing their opinion but after awhile, that is going to get rather redundant. It's like people naturally assume that a person committing suicide has never heard the "God loves you speech before." Here is a quick list of details on my background starting from current events to past. - In 4 days- am getting evicted from a room I am rented out for a year (no furniture) - My car is broke down. (92 dodge dynasty that has peeling paint all over and a missing window) - I currently have 0 money. - My current bank account has a negative -700 dollar balance in it. - Ironically I am an honors student at a local college yet any financial aid and loans go directly to my out of state tuition since I moved around alot. My grades are slipping from the stress of eviction and having no money to live. - I lost my job slipping and falling on a closing shift and missing a weeks worth of work and school so both my job is over and my grades are slipping. - My most 2nd husband was Israeli - suckered me in convincing he loved me and used his dying father as a reason to marry him for a green card ( he can't return back to israel to visit his dying father and come back without a visa since his expired) - I owe over 30k in debt - most which isn't even credit card debt, but student loans, unpaid medical, utility, and other bills) - At 30 weeks pregnant my fiance cheated on me in NY, gave me 10 bucks to go from NY to chicago (19 hour train ride) to be with my mother who left me at the age of six that I found online since she ran away from my abusive father. - In the Army my 1st husband suckered me into marrying him for higher pay (married soldiers get paid more) then abandoned me. - My first car got reposessed - My mother abandoned me at the age of six she was a mail order bride because my father married 5 times her being the 2nd wife. She ran away when I was 6 due to physical and emotional abuse from him. - My father and grandparents raised me, it was like living in a time warp of the 40's and 50's. Due to their paranoia, I was locked in my room for most of my childhood and teenager years riddled with the guilt that I should be grateful they are taking care of me because my mother abandoned me and used my father for a greencard. - Ironically I lost my son to my mother who left me at the age of six, when my fiance in NY cheated on me and sent me on a train to chicago where she lived. She took all parental rights from me ( she herself was married 3 times and couldn't have a child) so she kicked me out and kept my son filing all the paperwork for custody. Which brings me to now...pardon my anger, but why the f*** should I live? It's almost becoming rather ridiculous, all these suffering and manipulation from others, all this struggle. I see my old high school classmates ( I transfered 3 different high schools) graduated, with professional degrees, married with kids. I am now turning 29 with nothing. Please as much as I love God and all, I really don't want to hear anymore how God has this master plan because for past 12 years I have been barely stringing along under that ideal. If an individual is not actively playing a productive role in our society, should they live? Isn't it a waste of air and oxygen? What makes one human's life so precious? i'm 14, and in one of my AT language art class i have this teacher name Mr.Ptone around he 30's but young i guess ("p" silent) and one time i had a tank top and it was close to my boobs from showing just a little (i get embarassed from that) so i try to hide them leaning on my desk a little and when "creepo" was talking and walking around he stop in front of me 8ft away, looking down. i hide away, no one notice (hes boring so every deon't pay attention) and he came around me a patted my shoulder. i was VERY uncomfortable. And i hardly get in trouble in that class, 3 ppl forgot their project poster and hes yelling at them, and then i forgot mine and he says "its alright just bring it back tomorrow i'll still give you credit" and some ppl have begining to notice they call me "teacher's pet". And okay last time (last month) i had art club, and he came in and told me i had to finish this packet because i was sick, i told if i could do it at home but he said he needed it before report cards go out. anyway i went i sat in my desk he gave me the packet and he leaned in closer and told me "here put your name and circle the correct answers, if you need any help ask me alright?' and left, his desk is behide me and i turned around to make sure if he was watching me and pretened i needed to see the clock, well he was for a few mintues. it was quite for like 10 min i was done, i got up and he was right there, i gave him my packet and when i was about to run but he had his hand around my shoulder and walking me to the door....I try telling my mom but she doesn't listen, and if i get him fired every likes that teacher and they will all blame me for it i don't know what to do i already have been sexually abuse by my perv cousin. my soon-to-be ex husband and i are currently going through a divorce. he keeps telling me that we need to pay on the credit cards. he said he's been trying to by at least making monthly payments, but after looking over the account, i see no proof of such. is it better to pay on the bill regardless, or let a judge decide who has to pay and how much? the only reason we got behind on the credit cards is because i was the one primarily working since 2008 because someone didnt feel like it, or whatever excuse he felt like using at the time. i was only making enough to keep things going, like utilities, trailer payment, etc. in 2009, i couldn't take the abuse anymore, and me and the kids moved out. since we moved, i've only been able to afford basic needs, and am on public assistance. i plan on paying when i can. Also, his lawyer is trying to claim that he should recieve the van, house, etc. in the divorce, yet we should share the debt! i'm afraid if i pay on the debt until a judge decides, i'll end up paying more than my shareAnyone with experience/legal knowledge in this situation is appreciated more

he use to do it few times a year when he is in tension but for last 2 years he is doing it over every other thing..like screaming and yelling and throwing things and aggressive body movement! we talk and we talked but its like he will not change.Yes i want to be out and away from it all and i even tried helping him but he totally denies that there is a problem because there always is a good reason like i have not payed bill on time (even though he knows i have long shift) or why dishes not clean (again i had long hours of shift back to back) . But is it only fair for me to stay and waite for a change and take such attitude which is turning into emotional abuse. I feel so drained ...i use to be happy person but i m just turing into depressed and luni person.I am in charge of my department at work and everyone like me and leave good comment about my way of work but my husband never once asked me how it went. I dont want to go into detail but even when he gets angry and makes me cry and goes off to work , when he gest back still stay angry at me like i did something. Do i feel like a -doormat- yes i do . I also give him all my salary to pay off loans that we have together and rent and he gets angry when i use 5% of my hard earn income on paying my credit card bill (that is cause i never have cash in hand). Okay, so to begin with, my mother whom I don't get to see too often, (like, months in between visits, we have about 2 hours of distance between us) is coming down to visit me for the weekend via her selfish, immature fiance', (clearly he and I don't get along). However, I am stuck at my girlfriends house because of the bad weather and how horrible my car is in it. So of course, being on her fiance's time schedule, they left 3 hours past schedule, and just informed me that HE had to make a stop in my home-town which is about 25 minutes away. Of course, another delay due to him. I got upset, because it always seems like he has control of her, and she has no spine to stick up for herself. Or say, "Hey, I told my daughter I'd be there at such time, and let's get going." OR "I don't get to see my daughter that often so can you please hurry, or have some concern for MY feelings about wanting to see my daughter and vice versa." Am I being selfish? Or does it sound like she just doesn't know how to stand up for herself or me at all? Isn't this the parents job and not the child's? I can't tell you the last time she or they came down for ANY holiday, or even my birthday. It just makes me sick that she doesn't see this? Or I could be overreacting? I feel like there is some level of psychological abuse. Countless times she's allowed him to overdraw her bank account, max her credit cards out (without keeping up with the payments), tell her she's 'replaceable'. It just doesn't sound like a healthy relationship, heck, it doesn't even sound like love. And of course it hurts me when he hurts her because she IS first and foremost my mother. The key word being she allows him to do this stuff which is so much more frustrating. I don't live with them nor do I know what goes on behind closed doors, but it just appears to me by what she tells me is that he has no concern for her feelings or others. She always complains to him about me, yet never has the ovaries to tell him how she feels. Some advice on what to do or say, or what not to do, or not to do anything period. MATURE answers only please. Mother's answers would be great, as well as father's, but I'm not discriminating!I guess it's just hard for me to accept how much she has changed, and had such an effect on our friendship since she's moved. And yes, I have invited her countless times to come down and visit. She's told me she wants to leave him, then the next day everything is okay. I even offered for her to live with me if she wanted to leave him until she got on her feet, (she is on disability). Yeah..we were together 6 months, I guess he just saw me using my account often enough he memorized the info. My acct has been in the negative for weeks...all because he stole from me. He knew full well what he was doing but continued to lie to me and act like everything was normal. He lied like 3 times about it. First it was "I never stole your money wtf" then "I stole 130" "I stole 200" "okay, I've stolen between 400-500" Cops have been called twice on him, he has committed 2 felonies. 1. burglary of a car, because he got the money from my wallet, which happened to be in my car one day. 2. credit card abuse We have agreed he has 1-2 weeks to pay me or else he goes to prison. Resolved Question: My husband got my family in major financial straits.?

He will deny everything he has done and blame me, his wife for everything. On occasion he will take some blame. He did not have an income (he always makes sure to spout off that he is in fact working) for a couple of years and no benefits for his family. No matter what -he has stayed his own course even though financial ruin has been around him. No income, selling his watch to a pawn shop, bringing his wedding ring in to get a loan-then get the ring back, increasing anger, 60K of credit card debts, personal loans from friends--always doing it behind my back, oh and the worst part during all this he would dip into our home equity and say he needs to then all the while he does work per se though has no or spotty income. After a 2 year adjustable arm mortgage he put us in (i would cry and say no I do not want to refinance again) we almost went under. I got our house out of foreclosure by the grace of God. He tends to still be this Napolean Man and surely this is not the guy I married. I am not sure if he is ill, or addicted to power and control?, or hiding substance abuse? Or chemical imbalance in his brain? I just want him to get well. I have children to raise with him and after him calling me bad names, etc. ie. abuse on all levels....well just feeling frustrated like when will this end! Has anyone seen someone just throw in the towel for their marriage/family? I mean at times we barely have any money to buy a gallon of milk. Resolved Question: What to do if someone you know stole your credit card?

I am 26 years old. I signed up for a credit card while I was in college about 3 years ago. I was living on campus, but my "official" residence was still my parent's house. This is where I received a lot of my mail, therefore my credit card was mailed there. Anyway, dumb as it sounds, I forgot about this credit card until last year, when my wife discovered it on my credit report, with thousands of dollars on it. I believe that my father has stolen it. When it was sent to his house he probably just opened it, signed it as his and has been happily using it and racking up a balance ever since. We both have the same first and last names, which would make it even easier for him to pass this card off as his own. What should I do? I do not have a relationship with my father at all for various reasons. He is known to abuse those around him and financially use others. I want to get my credit card back, but obviously MINUS the debt that he has charged on it. Simply asking him to give it back and pay it off would be fruitless, so that is not an option. What are my options? Do I need to have proof that HE is the one who is using my credit card? Please help me, if anyone knows the steps I should take. Voting Question: Questions about opening a new checking account - "Monthly Service Fee"?

I'm currently still in High School, (18), and I'm looking forward to opening a checking account. I still don't have a bank account yet, and parents..well, won't even bother with me about this. So I'm trying to learn on my own. I was looking at lots of different Checking Accounts, and so far the best one I see is from Citi Bank, with the 3$ per month service fee. What if I don't pay that fee? What if I don't even use the card at all, do I still have to pay the fee? I looked into BoA, only a 25 minimum deposit...but, I don't have a bank account nor debit card in the first place to open the account. I looked into Credit Cards, such as Chase...But I'm afraid of abusing the credit card, and I don't have a bank account. FINANCIAL VIOLENCE? I know a woman that uses this guy. He gives her his credit card often and helps her with bills and rent. This is more serious than it might sound. My gf's family (mother,father,sister, & brother) REFUSE to call, visit, or contact my gf!! (unless they need a favor or money). Their reason given is because they HATE my guts! I love my gf deeply and have told her father that I will take very good care of her and do eveything I can to make her happy, and she is very happy being with me. I am an architecture student and work as well, I'm not a drinker nor do I smoke. I am not drop dead gorgeous but I'm not ugly and yet they always tell her she is too good for me. My gf is TERRIFIED of them (past childhood abuse) and admits she can't confront them or correct their behavior. She treats her sister and brother like babies (her sister is going on 30 and her brother is 21) and when we go visit the first thing they tell her is "what did you bring me!" Her brother goes to her and holds his hand out and says to her "give me your credit card, I'm hungry", AND SHE DOES IT, SHE GIVES HIM HER CREDIT CARD!! I'm NOT exaggerating or fabricating!! My gf can't say anything because if she does they'll go running to mommy! She's bought her brother a lap top, iphone, new clothes, helps with his rent, and even got his car outa the pound which cost her $200!! When we go visit her family her mom runs to her bdrm and brings out all these bills and shows them to my gf in which my gf takes a few of them home and then pays those bills. I didn't mind at first but It hasn't stopped! And when we do go visit they either expect us to take food for them to eat or they tell my gf to cook for them, WHILE THEY JUST SIT THERE AND WATCH TV!!! And while my gf is sitting at the table eating her brother will stand next to her and hold out his plate and tell her "give me that (food on the table)", he's standing right next to it, he can get it himself! And then her father, who's sitting next to my gf, says out loud "I NEED some more food" in which my gf's sister tells my gf to get up and get her father some more food in which the mother tells my gf to get her some more to!! LAZY!!! And my gf washes the dishes when its done!!! I go to help her and ask her if she would please tell them something, but she's AFFRAID of saying anything. They are SOOO mean to her!! They are the most selfish, greedy, inconcisderate, self centered, egotisticle people I've ever met!! Her sister claims to be narscistic and she is very proud of it. I've told my gf and others have also told her that the reason why they hate me so much is because I'm taking away their financial institution, their servant, maid, valet, personal bank, their mommy (she overly babies them), Wherever we go my gf waits on them hand and foot and on many occasions her sister makes my gf follow her and her friends with a camera to take pictures! Many times we get into arguments because of her doing that, it ruins our evening! And I was SHOCKED that she actually did it!! She has tried talking to a counselor but when he told her she had to put her foot down and stop the "nonsense" as he put it, she quit seeing him! They don't want anything to do with our wedding which is tearing her apart and they know what its doing to her!! Credit card companies seem to be able to get away with whatever they want. They always are raising interest rates, changing terms, etc. If you have balances at the time of the change, you are stuck. The only option I have ever figured out is to freeze the account (not totally closed) and then they will honor the old terms, but you can no longer use the card. more

The merchant lied to the credit card people, saying I canceled an appointment and thus incurred that fee, but I did not, I showed up for an appointment but then was advised then and there AGAINST PROCEDING. Then, they gave me a refund receipt, I left thinking I would get my refund, but I instead got all but $1,000 of it. I have shown all proof but Capital One harasses and calls me night and day from Inda. Voting Question: What is a good online job for a teenage guy?

I live in the middle of no where and its 30 min to town. Also, I have no car. So I think I need an online job. I don't want to do surveys. I'm 27 yrs old...back when I started college I was 18 and I was dooped into signing up for four credit cards....Yeah I take the blame...I should never of stopped at those visa booths they had set up on campus...anyways I did....so about 2 weeks later I received them in the mail...2 had a spending limit of $1,000 dollars and the other two had a limit of $500 dollars....I blew through those cards buying text books...pizza...art supplies and other stuff I needed for school...laptop...anyways I didn't have a job...and I made a couple of payments but I didn't have a job...so I fell behind...so much that I was sent to collections...I was 19 and had bill collectors calling me...man that was scary....they were mean and threatening me....so I just changed my number and that was that....besides my credit score went in the crapper....that was 7 years ago...now my mom says that will erase is that true...??? My husband and I met through the Internet five years ago. So I went to a museum exhibit with my family and they had all kinds of golden cut outs... most of them were expensive, like about $6 - $14 dollars for one cut out but I was told that if I were to purchase all of the cut outs together that I saw.... they would charge me $82.00 dolllars for about 82 cut outs... now in christian numerology the number 82 means pouring... I wanted to buy one, but my mother would not let me use my credit card. In the bible gold symbolizes value... As well the cut-outs were 2-D rather than 3-D... I don't know if they were real gold or not. Now some background info: I was studying the names that are used in the bible and I learned two things 1st: bible names can be phonetically decoded 2nd: most if not all bible names have a hebrew meaning behind them for example: Adam = man Enosh = mortal Enoch = teaching So I was trying to decipher the hidden blessings of God that are written behind the names in scripture... and I was unsure as to whether I should decipher the name by a) phonetically decoding the names b) looking at the context where the name was mentioned or c) getting a hebrew english dictionary and looking at the hebrew meaning of each name The fact that the golden cut outs are 2-D, that would suggesting that the names should be phonetically decoded, or that the hebrew meaning of the name is a tangent reference to another un written concept which is the substance of the message being communicated. At the same time, I was upset over some bad choices I made that God had effectively punished me for, and I was crying and pouring my heart out to God about it... so that could be related Now... I cursed my mother because she abused me for 11 yeras... so it could be that because I cursed her God would not listen to my cries or feel pity for me.. I'm not sure about that. What sort of a bitchh serves food at a funeral her previously-anorexic daughter will be near? I might relapse and totally die of anorexia. She’s being negligent, and I am seriously considering reporting her for child abuse. I may be 19, but it’s still abuse. I could make sure she gets put away for a long time. Don’t worry, it’s not just that, it gets worse. When I was 7, all I wanted for my birthday was a Princess Barbie. Mum crashed the car on MY BIRTHDAY and, has ever since, been a quadriplegic. Not only have I had to push her around in public, I never got MY Princess Barbie. Ever since then, MY life has been unbearable. Then that cow of a sister came along. First it was bearable. Then, she got sick and all of a sudden it needed one of MY kidneys or it was going to die. Lie number one. I refused to give away MY kidney and it DIDN’T die! I just found out I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant. I have been with my fiance for over 5 years and we have a very loving & great relationship. We're high school sweethearts & have lived on our own since we were 17 (we're both now 22). Background: We both come from poor/unsupportive households. I was sexually & physically abused when I was younger, and his father up and left one day leaving him and his mom to live out of a hotel, barely making ends meet. We swore we would give everything to give our kids everything we never had. So, I went to college.. I graduate in 10 days with my Bachelors! He DIDNT go to college so I could. He has his CDL, and makes average income, and recently got a second job since I cant work much because of my school schedule. We recently moved into a 3br townhome, and are looking to save to purchase our first home in the next year or two. The Problem: School loans, personal loans, bank loans and credit cards have left us with about $50k in debt total (Mind you, this is NEED, not frivolous spending, food-gas-books-etc... its not easy making your own way through college on one income). I would have to go on Medical Assistance, because it would be $150/week if we got married to add me to his insurance. After all our bills, it would mean he would be bringing home less than $100/week. There is no way right now, financially we could afford to have a baby. My question is: Did you have an aboriton because you could not financially support a baby? We don't want to be selfish and say "Oh its ok, we'll go on welfare" and never see each other because we both have to work 2 jobs. Whats the point of having a baby if we'll never see them? Due to our background, we (happily) live 2 hours from family, and wouldnt trust any family to babysit anyway. We want a family so bad, we're great people, and it SUCKS that the ONLY thing holding us back is MONEY. Resolved Question: How do I leave a marriage with no money, no house, no vehicle and be in my mid 50's and no job?

My husband is a druggy, all though its pot, he is smoking 1 oz a week all by himself. I raise show dogs for entertainment. He inherited money from grandparents and its almost gone. He is in his mid 60's. We married 5 years ago, he talked me into quiting my job when we got married, so we can travel. We have traveled some, which was really great. I really Love him and truly expected to spend the rest of our lives together, but his Mom had a heart attack a week ago was in the Hospital for 3 days. We live 2 hrs away from her and he is her only child. He is refusing to go take care of her. He is letting a woman that has stolen a couple of hundred of thosands of dollars from her be her medical advocate. I say we press charges against the woman, I have proof she has stolen the money in black and white all it takes is going to the police dept. He says, it doesn't matter His Mom likes the woman and it doesn't matter if she takes her last dime. Only thing is , this money she is stealing is what we have to live on for the rest of our lives. His mom is 84 and I say she is capable of living on her own, only if someone checks on her daily and does everything for her. She does not drive, nor shop, nor cook, nor anything she can pay anyone else to do. She gave this woman a credit card and she is spending around 4000. to 5000 a month on my mother in laws credit card, but in Oct she quit and moved away and my Mother in laws credit card bill went to 500.00 for the month. Its just so stressful for me!! I want to put this woman in Jail we will never get the money back but will have the satisfaction of seeing her in Jail.
