Voting Question: What are your thoughts on this article on psychology and feminism?
Normally I do not put much stock in things posted on MRA blogs, particularly those which prominently display the word "mangina" (a shaming tactic of the sort for which they'd condemn feminists) but this article definitely made an impression on me (thanks, LabTech/Eo) and resonated with my own horrible experiences with the mental health profession, both with two different feminist therapists and with attempting to find a therapist who was trained to work with victims of childhood sexual abuse who was not feminist (exceedingly difficult to find). http://www.avoiceformen.com/2010/04/03/the-psychology-of-hate/ One extreme remark: "The world of psychology in academics and practice has become a weapon in the realm of gender politics. Almost all pretense to objectivity and academic integrity has been forced aside by ideologues with an ax to grind against men and who are using the loathsome disguise of helping professionals to further their agenda." That does seem excessive, even paranoiac, but many of the other points do lend some support to the claim. And as a whole the article suggests my own horror stories may not be aberrations. As I mentioned, I really don't go in much for MRA blogs and never have. I don't feel constrained for my msculinity so much as for NOT being masculine enough, so I usually just don't relate. But I'd still urge people to read this entire article. How plausible are its claims? What do you think of them? moreVoting Question: Until 1967 buggering a man was illegal in the UK. Is there a movement to legalise sex with kids as claimed?
In England and Wales buggery was made a felony by the Buggery Act in 1533, sexual acts between two adult males, with no other people present, were made legal in England and Wales in 1967. _________________________ The Washington Times April 19, 2002 A new book that says child molesters are not a major peril to children is part of a larger movement within academia to promote "free sexual expression of children." The movement to legitimize sex between adults and children is "gathering steam," warns Stephanie Dallam, researcher for the Leadership Council for Mental Health, Justice and the Media in Philadelphia, an organization that deals with prevention and treatment of child abuse. "Some people view children as the next sexual frontier," Ms. Dallam says. Feminist writer Judith Levine's book "Not Harmful to Minors: The Perils of Protecting Kids from Sex" has been condemned by those who say she excuses sexual abuse of children ? a charge she strongly denies. Ms. Levine says she was "misunderstood" after a news article last month quoted her saying a boy's sexual experience with a priest "conceivably" could be positive. "Do I advocate priests having sex with their child parishioners? No, absolutely no," she said in a telephone interview. However, she said, "The research shows us that in some minority of cases, young ? even quite young ? people can have a positive [sexual] experience with an adult. That's what the research shows." Featuring a foreword by Clinton administration Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders, Ms. Levine's book endorses a Dutch law, passed in 1990, that effectively lowered the age of consent to 12. Ms. Levine cites research about "happy consensual sex among kids under 12," and writes: "America's drive to protect kids from sex is protecting them from nothing. Instead, often it is harming them." The book has sparked a political backlash against her publisher, the University of Minnesota Press. The speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives condemned the book and called for the university to halt its publication. Instead, the university press last week ordered a second printing of 10,000 copies after media attention helped drive Ms. Levine's book as high as No. 26 on the Amazon.com best-seller list. But researchers and activists say the book is only the most recent in a series of academic arguments for "consensual" sex involving children: In 2000, the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco published an article, "Sexual Rights of Children," saying there is "considerable evidence" that there is no "inherent harm in sexual expression in childhood." San Francisco State University professor Gilbert Herdt, co-author of the 1996 book "Children of Horizons: How Gay and Lesbian Teens Are Leading a New Way Out of the Closet," said in an interview with the Dutch pedophilia journal Paidika that "the category 'child' is a rhetorical device for inflaming what is really an irrational set of attitudes" against sex with children. John Money, professor emeritus of psychology at Johns Hopkins University, gave an interview to Paidika about "genuinely, totally mutual" sex between boys and men. In the introduction to a Dutch professor's 1987 book called, "Boys on their Contacts with Men: A Study of Sexually Expressed Friendships," Mr. Money wrote that opponents of pedophilia are motivated by "self-imposed, moralistic ignorance." Harris Mirkin, a professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, published a 1999 article in the Journal of Homosexuality complaining that boys who have sex with men "are never considered willing participants, even if they are hustlers." He has also written that "children are the last bastion of the old sexual morality." A 1998 "meta-analytic" study in an American Psychological Association (APA) journal argued, among other things, that "value-neutral" language such as "adult-child sex" should be used to describe child molestation if it was a "willing encounter." Radio host Laura Schlessinger led a campaign against that study by Temple University psychology professor Bruce Rind and two other academics. Congress eventually voted unanimously to condemn the Rind study ? which has already been used as evidence to defend accused child molesters in at least three court cases. Ms. Levine's book favorably cites the Rind study and, in a telephone interview, she defended the study as "methodologically meticulous." But Baltimore psychologist Joy Silberg, whose clinical practice involves treating child-abuse victims, says the study is "horribly flawed." "I can't call it science," she said. OneOne connection between advocacy and action was revealed last week when court documents showed that a Catholic priest accused of repeatedly raping a boy was present at the founding of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). At a 1979 conference in Boston, documents show that the Rev. Paul Shanley claimed that a child had been "helped by a boy-lover" who had sex with him. Intellectual defenses of pedophila are "a huge concern" because they can function as "a green light" to would-be child molesters, says Claire Reeves, president and founder of Mothers Against Sexual Abuse (MASA). "Adults who might have a propensity to hurt a child might say, 'See, it's not harmful, these people are Ph.D.s, they must know,'" Mrs. Reeves said, adding that she began warning about the pedophilia movement in 1995."I started saying seven years ago that there was a movement to make pedophilia an alternative lifestyle, and my colleagues looked at me like I was crazy," said Mrs. Reeves, who founded MASA after discovering that a relative had been sexually abused. "Here we are seven years later and that is exactly what's happening." http://www.come-and-hear.com/editor/ca-wt-04-19-02/index.html http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harmful-Minors-Perils-Protecting-Children/dp/0816640068 http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200208/harmful-minors-book-review http://www.lipmagazine.org/articles/revieditors_170.shtml#harmfulpsydkick - Weird. I'm not about to click on their site. I do not need that on my history moreResolved Question: Psychology student doing research paper on child abuse. Do children ever...?
I know one of the most common signs of child abuse is children behaving sexually inappropriate (i.e. showing themselves to other children, inserting objects, masturbating, etc...) but are there ever cases or reasons for children to behave sexually inappropriate if they have never been abused? Or is it always the case if a child exhibits these signs that they have been abused? I can't find any on-line articles about children behaving this way without being abused. To Rhubarb, I'm not talking about sexual urges in general, I'm very specifically talking about sexual urges in children. It's inappropriate because children don't know or understand what they are doing is sexual unless they have viewed something sexual or been exposed to sexual abuse. To Tequila, thank you for your answer, I know sexual urges are learned and that's the most common reason why children exhibit those behaviors but I didn't know if that was the only reason or if it could be simply "exploring" urges... but then again, where did the urges come from? Had to have been some outside force that exposed them to the urges in the first place right? moreResolved Question: What is the psychology that causes me to have rape fantasies? Why can't I be aroused by consensual intercourse?
What is the psychology that causes me to have rape fantasies? Why can't I be aroused by consensual intercourse Since I was a very young boy, I used to pleasure myself to thoughts of people in pain. This started as early as Kindergarten, if not earlier. It wasn't really sexual, but I would arouse myself to thoughts of people in pain and humilation. Starting around 5th grade I started having fantasies of stripping and humiliating girls I knew. And these fantasies grew in high school and college. I'm not turned on by mutilation or anything that "does damage to the merchandise". But I do like the girl getting pretty roughed up, as long as her looks aren't messed up. I spend a lot of time searching for stories, videos, and comics. I also look for real news articles. I would never hurt anyone in real life, this is just fantasy. I'm not into bdsm, since the fact that is voluntary doesn't arouse me. I can't get aroused to "normal" consensual porn. The idea of consensual sex does nothing for me sexually. I'm not into "ravishment" fantasies where the girl eventually enjoys it. And the stories and movies I enjoy, have a feisty nonsubmissive victim, who is brought down and deeply humiliated and degraded. I also like sex slavery, but I don't want her to just accept the slavery but keep fighting back and being more debased and abused. The fact that victims are human beings, and feel pain, just turns me on more. I know this sounds pretty bad. But its all just stories, pics, and movies. I don't actually harm anyone. I just want to know, what you think causes this, and whether you think it is a problem. moreResolved Question: What is the psychology that causes me to have rape fantasies? "Ten Politically Incorrect Truths About Human Nature" from "Psychology Today" (X) Men sexually harass women because they are not sexist An unfortunate consequence of the ever-growing number of women joining the labor force and working side by side with men is the increasing number of sexual harassment cases. Why must sexual harassment be a necessary consequence of the sexual integration of the workplace? Psychologist Kingsley R. Browne identifies two types of sexual harassment cases: the quid pro quo ("You must sleep with me if you want to keep your job or be promoted") and the "hostile environment" (the workplace is deemed too sexualized for workers to feel safe and comfortable). While feminists and social scientists tend to explain sexual harassment in terms of "patriarchy" and other ideologies, Browne locates the ultimate cause of both types of sexual harassment in sex differences in mating strategies... ...Sexual harassment cases of the hostile-environment variety result from sex differences in what men and women perceive as "overly sexual" or "hostile" behavior. Many women legitimately complain that they have been subjected to abusive, intimidating, and degrading treatment by their male coworkers. Browne points out that long before women entered the labor force, men subjected each other to such abusive, intimidating, and degrading treatment. Abuse, intimidation, and degradation are all part of men's repertoire of tactics employed in competitive situations. In other words, men are not treating women differently from men—the definition of discrimination, under which sexual harassment legally falls—but the opposite: Men harass women precisely because they are not discriminating between men and women. http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200706/ten-politically-incorrect-truths-about-human-nature?page=5 moreResolved Question: What is the psychology that causes me to have rape fantasies? What is the psychology that causes me to have rape fantasies? Why can't I be aroused by consensual intercourse Since I was a very young boy, I used to pleasure myself to thoughts of people in pain. Reading a psychology article on wikipedia, I came to a conclusion that my best friend could have been either raped or abused, according to the way she acts. I practically see all symptoms in her personality, like the article explained. At least 3 out of 5 are very intense, that's why I cared looking into the matter at the first place.as I am receiving mixed replies, I would like to point out that I am very concerned, we are very good friends, like 24/7 ones, but it seems that she never trusted anyone. I never pressed any situation to any direction, I have always been very tactful with my impressions, never blamed or accused her and I intend to keep the same behaviour. But I am very worried about her health and I have to gather all information available.I guess it's all in my state as well. What if she was and never told...doesn't that mean that in the future, charges must be placed to someone? Should this mean that I would have to find some care for her, at least in the form of a psychologist as well? Deborah Hill Cone: Self-love stuck in an endless honeymoon 4:00AM Sunday Oct 11, 2009 You heard it here first: narcissism is the new black. I predict narcissism is going to be our next obsession. Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) was invented in 1980 when shrinks included it in their Bible, the DSM-III, and it is poorly understood, diagnosed, reported or studied. But once you learn a bit about it you start seeing it everywhere - especially in the business community. Although I must confess the same thing happened to me with autism - I started to think half the people I knew were on the spectrum. Still do, although maybe I just know a lot of anoraks. Yes I know, I read too many self-help books - and that's how I got interested in narcissism. (Is there a self-help book about curing one's self-help book addiction?) The roll call of narcissists is pretty long. Practically all politicians and lots of CEOs. Pretty much anyone who owns a Bentley. They are not all psychopaths like Clayton Weatherston, but they are wonky nonetheless. Most narcissists don't recognise that they are narcissists. One of the few who does is Sam Vaknin, a PhD and financial consultant from Israel, but it took some pretty extreme conditions for him to be forced to face his personality. (And since there is no cure, that was pretty depressing.) Vaknin wrote a book about narcissism in jail as he tried to understand why his nine-year marriage had dissolved, his finances were in a shocking condition, his family estranged, his reputation ruined. He blamed everyone else, but slowly realised it was his fault. So what is narcissism? Contrary to the myth of the Greek boy who fell in love with his own reflection, the narcissist does not love himself in any true sense of the word. Narcissism is a pattern of traits and behaviours which signify infatuation and obsession with one's self to the exclusion of all others and the egotistic and ruthless pursuit of one's gratification, dominance and ambition. Most narcissists are men. They feed off other people, getting what Vaknin calls "narcissistic supply" - this could involve sex, attention or glory - and it is like a drug. The DSM says narcissism is "a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy". The narcissist is described as turning inward for gratification rather than depending on others and as being excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, and prestige. There is no cure for it. Therapy doesn't really help. Psychologists say factors behind narcissism are an oversensitive temperament, overindulgence by parents, unreliable parenting and childhood abuse. "Narcissists feed off other people who hurl back at him an image that he projects to them. This is their sole function in his world: to reflect, to admire, to applaud, to detest - in a word to assure him he exists." But I'm not just saying this to give you a lesson in cod psychology. I can't help wondering if the disorder of narcissism has almost become normalised in our individualistic, status-obsessed society - and don't get me started on overindulged kids. There is something wrong when the diagnosis of narcissism almost sounds like something most BCom students aspire to. Here's a wacky idea: let's put away the mirrors and start looking at other people instead of ourselves. deborah@coneandco.com http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10602200 moreResolved Question: What do you think about a story that says "Spanking may reduce a child's IQ"?
I saw this story on Yahoo News and it appears extremely ridiculous. I'm working on my PhD in Psychology and I know IQ is a debatable topic. But it is clear physical discipline such as spanking has no connection to intelligence. After reading the story it appears the people who suggested "Spanking may reduce IQ" was a child abuse pediatrician MD. It clearly shows bias because the child abuse pediatrician is against any form of physical violence towards children so he politicized the topic. In research design conflict of interest occurs and bias of a topic clearly influences one's research. Now I don't support violence against kids but it ticks me off when educated officials politicize a topic to further one's agenda. Also intelligence quotient is a topic in the psychology field that is greatly debated because what constitutes IQ is not 100% known and is debatable. What's your view? Do you really believe "Spanking may reduce a child's IQ"? It may affect their behavior, parental relationship, and emotion but connecting it to IQ seems odd. Also proclaiming one thing that is physical relating it to something mental is dynamic and many factors must be taken into consideration. Please provide your opinion. Health Promotion and Wellness Programs: Top Health Risks By John Bates Obesity, tobacco use and stress are the most common hazards to health in the American workforce. In addition to the direct harm they cause to individual wellness, they also provoke many indirect issues related to health care. Weight loss and tobacco cessation are similar in that they both require behavioral modification and a comprehensive maintenance plan to curb the chances of a relapse. Staff qualifications should indicate training and experience adequate to deal with this type of psychology. Furthermore, weight loss and tobacco cessation programs have varying success rates across different demographics and within small groups; therefore, health promotion and wellness programs have to be tailored to fit individual needs. Before a diet and exercise plan can be implemented, a Health Risk Assessment is necessary to seek out pre-conditions for heart disease or stroke which could be compromised by the health promotion and wellness program. Exercise programs and nutrition education should be scientifically-based, drug-free and physician approved. Weight loss has to be the result of a balance between caloric intake, healthy meals and exercise. For resources and guidelines pertaining to obesity, nutrition, exercise and diet plans, consult: National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute Physical Activity Programming Encouraging people to exercise involves more than merely offering physical activity opportunities. Motivating employees includes acknowledging their present sedentary lifestyle and persuading them to make realistic and alternative lifestyle choices. The exercise program should be selected by the employee and offered during a time that is convenient for them in order to achieve a consistent participation rate. Education will be necessary to teach employees the relationship between activity, diet and health and to demonstrate how this can be changed to encourage physical wellness. Health promotion and wellness program supervision will be necessary to ensure that injury does not develop and exercise programs are introduced safely. Appropriate education in physiology, sports medicine or an equivalent and have a current CPR/First Aid certification should verify that health promotion and wellness programs are operated safely. The Health Risk Assessment should be checked to ensure the participant has agreed to a referral, elected exercise options and verified that there are no contravening health issues that preclude an exercise program. Staff should monitor heart rate and blood pressure to protect health promotion and wellness program goals during all intervention procedures. Safe exercise guidelines are offered by the American College Of Sports Medicine. Free Fitness Handouts and Fitness Posters can also be found at Wellness Proposals Tobacco Abuse Smoking cessation is one of the most difficult health risk issues to tackle because nicotine is considered to be one of the most addictive substances. In order to succeed, participants must want to quit. Preparation to quit, support with choosing a method to quit and visible proof of results need to be demonstrated. Counseling should be available for the participant at any time. Not all cessation programs work the same way with everyone. A qualified counselor should recognize individual differences and be able to match cessation programs with individual preferences. Diet plans, exercise programs, and activities that preclude smoking need to be presented as part of the cessation program. Relapses are common; therefore, a maintenance plan is mandatory. Nicotine substitution patches, sprays, gums or other medicinal options should be included in the counseling session to support cessation efforts. Guidelines and resources for cessation programs are plentiful. Some of the best offerings are presented at the Surgeon General's website, The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, The American Lung Association, or Smoke Enders. For the purpose of tracking tobacco cessation success rate, the participants who began the program need to be the same ones who finished it. Maintenance parts of cessation should be recorded for a minimum of one year. Healthy Choices, Healthy Diet The Health Risk Assessment tests where nutritional education would benefit. With almost a seventy percent rate of obesity, the American workforce is in dire need of healthy food choice counseling. Health promotion and wellness programs promote better food choices by teaching participants how to identify low carbohydrate, lower calorie, high protein, and high fiber foods. Explaining the relationship between obesity and the escalating incidence of heart disease, Type II Diabetes and health care costs should help motivate participants moreResolved Question: Lesbians: Have you ever encountered this, and what was your response?
Recently, I had a friend come to me and voice his concerns over my lesbianism. He presumes I am only a lesbian because I had a negative sexual encounter with a man in which I was almost raped, and he says it's "medically proven" that lesbians have a much higher instance than straight women of sexual abuse, and that's why they're lesbians: they are turned off from men by the abuse. (This abused happened twelve years ago, I am over it, and was pretty sure of my sexuality even before it happened, but he says that's irrelevant.) I'm only very versed in the basics of psychology and am far more seasoned in abnormal psych, and in the Gender & Sexuality classes I took to augment my genetics degree, this issue wasn't addressed (the class focused more on the socio-political problems/issues associated with the two and not really the biology/psychology behind it). Logically, this argument, to me, doesn't hold much water; a person is their sexuality because of biological factors, not because of "nurture" situations like sexual abuse, etc, and as far as I'm concerned, that sort of perspective was another attempt made by people uncomfortable with homosexuality to explain it away as a problem or a disease, rather than something natural. However, he is VERY convinced that it is medically proven and even supplied me some articles from a few years ago (from, admittedly, a very questionable source) saying that lesbianism can be directly caused by sexual abuse. Have you ever had somebody present you with this before, and if so, what was your response? I personally find it a quite insulting view, but it's a bit different than the whole "THE BIBLE SAYS IT'S BAD!" argument which I find very easy to dispel. Somebody trying to use "genetocs" against me doesn't work either because often times, I'm far more knowledgeable than them in that field, but I've never experienced this particular stereotype myself. What do you think about this? Does his suggestion hold water, that lesbianism is caused by abuse, or is it bollocks? And how would you counter such a statement? (And, just a note of happiness: I'm in Vienna right now, and all of the streetcars are flying Pride flags. :].) moreVoting Question: writing in psychology paper.. need help?

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080411/D8VVKG700.html Liberals despise traditional marriage and family because they are institutions which frown on promiscuity. Liberals are not obsessed with sex, but with promiscuity. Promiscuity is the dominate theme of the liberal media culture. The basis of their psychology is the elimination of moral responsibility. Abortion is necessary to guarantee genital freedom and eliminate moral consequence. Liberals seek to control public schools, and force all children into them, in order to foster promiscuity and collectivist ideology in children. Their primary agenda is the projection of power and left-wing politics. The liberal applauds the imprisoning of homeschooling parents who dare to raise their children outside the control of collectivist public schools. Why and how? I wrote this article explaining how I felt: Too Many children left behind. Please see what I offer as a soultion to help with these issues. "Did you know that Foster/Adopt Parents don't do counseling before they take a child in? Foster/Adopt Parents don't take a psychological test either. I have noticed that in the data banks that there are still over 10 thousand children waiting for adoption and all over the age of 5 for the past two years plus (Texas). With this I have noticed several sites of people pursuing to adopt babies but not older children. I find this discouraging that so many people that can not have children of their own by natural ways do not choose to take on a child in the system over the age of 5. I have found many of these children suffer from severe Detachment and Emotional damage, yet the State provides no constant intensive Emotional Health services. The children at best see a therapist once a or twice a month which doesn't resolve their abandoment issues nor their anger and hurt issues of being placed not in just one home but several homes over the course of a year. I have first hand knowledge these kids are left in ophanages for a few months than transfered to a home than in a couple months later transferred again. They have no stability nor any Emotional help to deal with the dramatic changes in their lives. At these times these children show signs of either complete withdrawn or complete abusive natures. Than alot of them age out of the system and don't thrive to become caring productive emotional stable adults. More than half of the girls end up pregant and living with abusive partners. More than half of most of these children end up on the streets or jail. In order for better outcomes and futures for these kids we must stop the constant cycle of rolling them over to new foster homes all the time. Most of the children with siblings don't or to far away to see their siblings. This is a shame because the only bond these kids have left is severed due to lack of good Foster Parents. I encourage Foster Parenting but doing a basic backround check, some classes and a home study doesn't rectify the problem. These Foster Parents need not take kids in hopes of getting a young child to raise as their own. These Foster Parents like natural parents should be in Counseling sessions to insure they have the mentality and good emotional health to truely understand that if they take these kids that are awaiting for Adoption can be theirs with alot of hard work in participating in Emotional COunseling before and after the child is placed with them until the child's symptons of oppression or aggression are resolved in order to gain a bond to help keep the children placed in on place and possibly adopted by that Foster Family. This is where our system is Failing Children. They place the kids in where they can but the matches are not always to the children's needs unless it's the needs of phyisical. Than these Foster/Adopt Parents tend to these kids with no clue what is wrong with them, because CPS never gives them the gist of the problems prior to removals or termination. CPS doesn't give much history on these children from the family, schools, parents, nor any other source of these kids past. The kids come in as vicitims but have learned from their "abusers" how to react or act on different forms of abuse but counseling is never given extensively to help curve what these child have learned from their former environments. With this these children get around other children just like them and the destructive behavior of these kids is encouraged by their peers with like problems. Thus these kids never stop the cycle and as adults repeat or become worse than their "abusers." First thing taught in Child Psychology is that Children Model and repeat everything they hear and see. So if bad behavior is being reinforced by the abuser for many years, than an other child is helping reinforce bad behavior, as possibly well as a Foster/Adopt parent (knowing they don't do couseling or any testing prior to becoming Surgorate) end up encouraging bad behavior, and the child has no stablity with one home for more than 2 years with only a couple counseling sessions if that to help with behavior than EVERY CHILD IN FOSTER CARE is going to FAIL in adulthood. Not just that most children in Foster Care stop Thriving. Yes, Family placement would be nice but CPS doesn't always want to do that so they don't really search. Sorry it's the Truth. Some kids come from homes that had minor problems but CPS had the judges convinced the Parent was ill prepared to take the child home so Termination was granted after 12 months. Than there's The incentive of keeping their jobs because as of 2011 these Caseworkers will have no job because it is going to private sector and they aren't going with it. Than there's the financial bonus to get kids adopted. Well, getting termination is easy in Texas so many judges love thinking they are protecting children by doing this.,but getting adopted for children over 5 is a curse to these kids. Why can't we get more Funding, not for Adoption or Foster Care, but for more intensive Family based Services for children of different severities of problems? Such as all Services provided to Parents in both Removal and Family based are the same. Why can't we tailor these services for Family based services with more intensive services of 2 to 3 times a week counseling with children and children by themselves. Parenting Aids in homes twice a week. A big brother/big Sister outreach program required to do by these families to put more intervention in to see problems of parenting and for the kids to have someone who they can focus on when there are more than on child in the house. My goal is to put these into effect. We have a request going through to push a 1 year program for Nurses to assist low income/single parent families for the first year of an infants life to help prevent homelessness, abortions, joblessness, malnurishement, and fatalities of infants by the Pro-Life organization in Houston. I believe an half an ounce of prevention leads to a pound of cure. I believe my suggestions are Prevention with some needed immediate Cure.""I found, from information provided by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, in Fiscal 2003, 30 foster children died in our state's care; in Fiscal 2004, 38 foster children died; and in Fiscal 2005, 48 foster children died. "Data shows that while the number of foster children in our state's care increased 24 percent from 26,133 in Fiscal 2003 to 32,474 in Fiscal 2005, the number of deaths increased 60 percent."-Caroly Keeton Strayhorn I am one of those parents fighting a Termination of Parental Rights Hearing in two months. moreResolved Question: Creative Newsletter Ideas?
I'm the editor of the newsletter at my school. I'm training to be a psychiatric aide. I need some cool original topics that I can write or find articles about. I'm new at the school and they were trying to give me topics like child abuse and stuff... but I just don't know what to do with it. The newsletter is for my psychiatric aide program and will talk about psychology-related things, but will be distributed to the entire school (medical assistant, patient care techs, medical office assistants). Any ideas or articles would be great! moreTop Psychology Article Abuse Links
