I've been married to my wife 7 years and I want to adopt her daughter.. Her daughter is 10 and we think now is the time to do it since she's getting older, signing up for sports, plus the change now will better before she is 18.. Her original birth certificate has my wife's maiden name on it.. The father is not in the picture at all, there was no fathers name on the birth certificate when she was born.. I keep hearing conflicting reports about it being expensive or not.. I really would NOT like to go through a lawyer.. Is there a site I can print out documents and take to our municipality court myself ?? If I can't do myself where is a good place to find an LESS expensive lawyer for this ?? Since we are married does a Home Study still have to be done? I hope somebody can help answer my questions.. Thanks!! DxP.s. - My daughter is ok with it all.. She is very smart and knows her real dad isn't around.. She's known my since being born and has called me dad to this day and knows about adoption and is happy for it..To the person who posted about a UK link.. I'm NOT in the UK.. I'm in the USA in the State of Pennsylvania. moreResolved Question: Infant in danger, adoption/guardianship...need to move fast?
PLEASE READ IN FULL BEFORE PROVIDING INPUT, THANKS. *****WE RESIDE IN THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA My sister (20) got pregnant by a guy (21) on work release from jail. When she was 5 months pregnant, he disappeared, found another girlfriend when he got out of jail, and hasn't been in contact with her at all since. He wants nothing to do with her or the baby. Since he 'broke up' with my sister, she has considered my fiance and I to adopt her baby. The baby is now 2 weeks old. My sister has gone back and forth from wanting to keep her (cause she 'looks so cute, was getting attention, etc) to adopt her to us (I dont want to feed her, I'm not a mother, I dont want to be a mother, I cant take care of her) My sister still lives at home with my mother & other siblings who have serious behavioral health issues from years of sexual and physical abuse. I am the only one of my siblings who got out (left when i was 16), got my college degree, met a wonderful man, and sought counseling to deal with my past. There is constant yelling, manipulation, and threatening..not to mention the occasional physical contact between my brothers. My sister texted me at 5am last night and said, and i quote, "Ive had it with her (the baby) and i mean whoever wants her can take her, I'm done! I'm about to call (the dad) to come take her.. I dont want her, can she stay with you". My mom told me "The only one adopting her would be me, I'm ALREADY attached"...yet she lives on welfare, has younger kids, and is severely emotionally disturbed. The fathers side of the family is just as bad (also sexual abuse) plus the fact that HE wants nothing to do with the baby...but HIS mother does & is very controlling of him. As of right now, the birth certificate for the baby says "Father Unknown" because my sister wanted him to have nothing to do with their lives. Ok, here are my many questions: 1) Since the father wants nothing to do with her, I was thinking of telling my sister to put his name on the birth certificate, then have him sign over his rights as a father. The only issues is I am afraid HIS mother would interfere and want custody.etc ALSO, if he WILLINGLY wants to sign over his rights, do we need a lawyer or can we just get some paperwork at the courthouse for him to sign in front of a judge?? 2) Does OUR mother have ANY say over the baby if my sister brings the baby to my house TODAY? If my sister is saying that she wants us to have the baby, can my mom then go after custody/guardianship... what are the chances of her getting it if she has dependents of her own, no job, and lives off welfare? 3) If I were to get permanent guardianship from my sister, could my mom fight it (Since she probably will)? Could my sister change her mind & take the baby back at any time(since this is what she kept doing before). Again, do I NEED a lawyer if both parties are agreeing to this arrangement or is there a paper we just have to get signed in front of a judge? 4) This is something I feel needs to be quick, and without my mother interfering..because she probably will. If this is a commitment my fiance and I are willing to make, I need to make sure my heart is being protected and my mom/sister can not keep playing these games, for the sake of the baby 5) How expensive/long is a private adoption? (start to finish, if both parents are willing to sign over their rights)Also: I know they need to do a home study, but do they look at finances as well, what are their criteria? We make a combined income of $35k but I also have student loans, credit cards, etc moreResolved Question: Samoyed Puppy Adoptions?

Following my question about my living situation: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091212122624AAEQtJX&r=w Is there a way that instead of going to Child Protective Services, I can live with my birth mother? It's an open adoption, and I have a sister. She lives in Pennsylvania with my biological sister and a non-biological father (for me, at least). So, is this possible? My birth mom and I have been in contact and she's loving and sweet and wouldn't lay a hand on me. Please give me answers, I need help! My last question has all the abuse and details you need to know. Email me or IM me if you want more information! moreResolved Question: My sister wants to adopt, but she is very violent and unstable?
My sister has a heart of gold, but its covered with bobby-traps. She is 25, nearly 26 years old with a job at a local deli. She makes an okay living at her job. There have been a lot of adoption ads on TV lately and my sister is now considering adopting when she moved out of our parents home in April. I am severely concerned for this possible child because of how violent my sister is. Last new years eve she got mad at me for not telling her we were low on rice and she tried to choke me over it. She use to babysit her friends two kids, at the time 6 & 8. The little 6 year old girl would always ask 5000 questions about everything. Yes it was extremely annoying but the girl wanted to learn. One day, after my sister told her to sit down and be quiet a few times, my sister got angry and smacked the little girl in the face. She hit the girl so hard that her mouth was bleeding, not bad enough for a hospital visit but bad enough for cotton balls. The next day the girl began asking questions again and my sister yelled "shut up" the little girl took a step back and said "please dont hurt me." Which broke my heart. In addition to this my sister has emotional problems with her boyfriend and herself. They fight a lot, though not physically (yet). I am worried that my sister may actually adopt a child, and I fear for that child's safety. In the state of Pennsylvania would the adoption agency interview family members prior to letting someone adopt? And if they do, would it be wrong of me to tell them shannen is (what I believe to be) an unfit mother? If it comes to this, what would you do? moreResolved Question: i have two male cats at home very teritorial, at work i have two female cats for adoption?

Ps. I live in Pennsylvania moreResolved Question: What were the most common national heritages of (East and Southeast) Asian women in Pennsylvania, US in 1930?
Trying to determine likely options for possible ancestry of someone. If it helps, the woman I am trying to do further research on had a Western-sounding (British or American or German origin) first and maiden name (I don't know whether due to anglicization, adoption, being born in the US, perhaps being mixed, or some other reason) and was a young adult in 1930. Thanks to any history or genealogy buffs who can shed some light!I do know her name, I just didn't want to publicly post it. Is there somewhere with free census records online? I tried a couple websites but the last census in the county she lived in in 1930 only goes to 1900 at the sites I found, and linking back to 1900 would require more information than I have. moreResolved Question: How long does an out of state adoption take?
I live in pennsylvania and my bother and sister inlaw live in colorado and i would like them to adopt my baby how long would the process take? moreResolved Question: How do I go about finding adopted siblings from another state?
My mom, now 38, and dad, now 40, had three children two boys and one girl, before me. My mom had my first brother in 1987 at the age of 15. His name is Andrew. She then had another boy and one girl (not sure of the names or age). They were all born in the area of Nashville, Tennessee. My parents then moved to Maryland where I was born in 1991. When I was 5 my parents divorced and my mom and I came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I have been my whole life. Every year after school was over for the year I would go to Maryland to visit my dad for a couple months but when I was 15 my parents finally decided to tell me that I had other siblings. I was shocked, surprised, angry, happy, and you name it that was me. They briefly told me that I have two brothers and one sister who is close to my age. They then began to tell me there names. They started with my oldest brother Andrew and I think I was just so caught up in the moment that the other two names were a blur. I have always wanted a brother and it always feels like something is missing since my dad was never around I just always wanted and needed that male figure in my life (It also never helped when my mom would bring home a different weirdo every night). I then asked them why they did it and all they said was that they didn't want to do it, it was my mom's mother who put them up for adoption together. They told me that they fought to keep me and thats why they had to move away. My mom and I dont really talk much about anything let alone this. She's basically living her fairy tail life now with a new husband and another daughter. I'm starting to feel a little separated from them it's almost like I'm just a thing that lives in the same house. And it doesn't make things better when she yells at me to move out or pay rent. Anyways, I was raised as a single child but now that im an adult I think that it is time to find my family. I have tried everything that I can think of but everything has a ridiculous cost which im willing to spend but I dont want to waste my money on false information. The information that I do have seems to not be enough but how am I supposed to find stuff out when my mom won't tell me anything. I'm sort of close with my aunt, my mom's sister, who lives with there mother but I'm not sure if talking to her would be such a good idea. But I have looked at the laws in TN and I just dont understand how her mom would have any right to do what she did. I'm really emotionally and physically stressed about this whole situation. I just want to know who they are, if they know who I am, if they know the real reason as to why they were put up for adoption, if there adoptive parents told them anything about being adopted, if there even in the same household together and so many other questions. If you have any information that could help me in any way I would love to hear it. Thank You! moreResolved Question: Where can I donate a portion of my daughters halloween candy?
I have asked hospitals and tried to find some children's adoption homes to donate a portion of my daughters Halloween candy. I want to teach my daughters (7 and 2 months) the magic of giving. However no one wants to accept my generosity. I wanted to donate exclusively to children who can't go trick or treating. I live in Western Pennsylvania. Does anyone know somewhere or have any ideas on where I can donate the candy? moreResolved Question: how much does an adoption to a stepchild cost?
Well my stepfather has said he wanted to adopt me since I was about 8 years old. I am 14 now and he still hasn't adopted me, and whenever I bring it up he says we don't have the money, or he will do it soon. I ask him about it atleast once every few months. That sounds annoying I know, but it's a huge deal to me. I wanted to know how much it truly costs to adopt a stepchild because I'm not entirely sure he really cares to adopt me anymore. It's true we have always had a terrible relationship and we never get along. I want him to love me but it's hard when he doesnt even like to talk to me. I think the adoption might change that though. So how much does it cost for a 14 year old girl in Pennsylvania to be adopted? Thanks guys!! I will REALLY apreciate the answers. moreVoting Question: How long is a consent to adoption form with signature valid before it is handed in?
Back in 2008 I wanted my sons father to sign over parental rights and technically he did he signed a form for consent to adoption. However little did he know at the time I did not have anybody to adopt my son as their own. I just wanted the paper work for later use and on top of it he was more then willing he wanted to sign over rights. My question is are these papers still valid? Are they null and void after a certain amount of time? Oh and I live in Pennsylvania if that matters. if anybody or lawyer knows the answer please help!!! moreResolved Question: Question about adoption process?
We have a friend that met a woman about 4 years ago and she had just given birth to twin girls. Well ever since he's been raising the twins as his own and married their mother. Well recently she met a man online and decided that she wanted a divorce. During this she also decided that she didn't want to be a mother any longer either so she gave the twins up to the state. What is the process? How much would this cost? How do we go about it? ThanksHe can't afford to take care of them himself. He also had a daughter with her and she is with his father becuase he couldn't support her himself. We don't want to just adopt them so he can see them. Our founders in the 1st Amendment, "we will not establish a State Religion", yet we were...?
... at that time, a nation of Christianity, in character and practice. If you do not agree then tell me why we can find all these references to elected leaders and important American statesmen saying things like ... ...Revolutionary leader Patrick Henry: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship." In a 1774 report to King George, the Governor of Boston noted: "If you ask an American, who is his master? He will tell you he has none, nor any governor but Jesus Christ." The pre-war Colonial Committees of Correspondence soon made this the American motto: "No King but King Jesus." And this sentiment was carried over into the 1783 peace treaty with Great Britain ending that war, which begins "In the name of the most Holy and Undivided Trinity... ." Samuel Adams, who has been called 'The Father of the American Revolution' wrote The Rights of the Colonists in 1772, which stated: "The rights of the colonists as Christians...may be best understood by reading and carefully studying the institution of the Great Law Giver and Head of the Christian Church, which are to be found clearly written and promulgated in the New Testament." It is frequently asserted by those seeking to minimize Christianity's central role in our nation's founding and history, that the founders themselves were not practicing Christians, but rather were Deists or Agnostics. yet evidence can be found that of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention, 29 were Anglicans, 16-18 were Calvinists, and among the rest were 2 Methodists, 2 Lutherans, 2 Roman Catholics, 1 lapsed Quaker-sometimes Anglican, and only 1 open Deist — Benjamin Franklin who attended all Christian worships and called for public prayer and fasting at the Constitutional Convention to break a deadlock. Samuel Chase was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, a Justice of the US Supreme Court, and, as Chief Justice of the State of Maryland, wrote in 1799 ( Runkel v Winemiller): "By our form of government, the Christian religion is the established religion... ." (Maryland was one of nine States having established churches supported by taxpayers at the time of the adoption of the Constitution; these churches were gradually disestablished, the last in 1833. The Maryland constitution, typical of many of the States, restricted public office to Christians until, in 1851, it was changed to allow Jews who believed in a future state of rewards and punishments to also serve). Christianity pervaded the laws and the legal system of the States and the federal government. For example, Judge Nathaniel Freeman in 1802 charged Massachusetts Grand Juries as follows: "The laws of the Christian system, as embraced by the Bible, must be respected as of high authority in all our courts... . [Our government] originating in the voluntary compact of a people who in that very instrument profess the Christian religion, it may be considered, not as republic Rome was, a Pagan, but a Christian republic." In 1811 ( People v Ruggles), New York Chief Justice James Kent held: "'...whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends manifestly to the dissolution of civil government... .' We are a Christian people, and the morality of the country is deeply engrafted upon Christianity... . Christianity in its enlarged sense, as a religion revealed and taught in the Bible, is part and parcel of the law of the land... ." In 1824, the Pennsylvania Supreme court held ( Updegraph v The Commonwealth): Christianity, general Christianity, is and always has been a part of the common law...not Christianity founded on any particular religious tenets; not Christianity with an established church, but Christianity with liberty of conscience to all men... ." Our sixth President, John Quincy Adams said "From the day of the Declaration...they [the American people] were bound by the laws of God, which they all, and by the laws of The Gospel, which they nearly all, acknowledge as the rules of their conduct" John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court said: "Providence has given to our people the choice of their ruler, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." This was said despite the explicit provision in the federal Constitution forbidding any religious test for federal public office.to Derek, Which ones were Deist? and just what is a Deist?to Red, they put the first amendment in there because history taught them that if you Establish a Religion as the "right one" declared so by the State, then you get really bad results such as "the inquisition", the "dark ages", and such. Our founders wanted to insure that no particular religious order or denomination could claim itself supreme and thus oppress other religions.to LifeonL..., Luke, Sarah, and others who mention specifics, I would like to invite you to answer some more questions I will be posting that are a bit more specific. And I do apologize for the wall of text in this question. I will try to be more terse and specific in these next questions.1 more comment to Sarah. If you really do want to base things on what you call "knowledge" (I would call it truth,) then may I suggest you get a copy of a DVD titled "The Real Jesus" put out by the Apologetics group. Here is a link for a trailer covering one of the myths. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ji2ohptJ2Qgand again to Sarah. I applaud you for being willing to admit that our country was founded by Christians. You take a step that few liberals are willing to take and thus validate the fact that your mind is open enough to consider the other side. I appreciate that. moreResolved Question: English Springer Spaniel adoption in NYC?

Can you fit that through your mean ignorant thick head? xoxo, Claire moreResolved Question: Putting a dog to sleep because of food agression? What are your thoughts, read on...........?
Firstly, i'm from the UK and a dog and animal lover, I own my own dog. Tonight, my girlfriend and I watched a programme called 'Animal Cops' filmed in Pennsylvania, USA. Featured on the programme was a horrendous case as follows: A dog named Atlas, a nice natured cross breed (looked like mastiff or ridge back cross) was reported to be chained up in the rear garden of a house. The Humane Society Officers visited and found the owner to be out although they gained access to check the dog. They found the poor dog with a heavy weight tow chain wrapped around it's neck which had cut in to the flesh 1.75 inches. The dog was also seriously underweight and had obviously been badly treated due to having no food or water available to it. The officers removed the dog and took it to the local centre to be checked by a vet who said that they had never seen a case so bad. As a result, the chain was cut away, the dog was treated with stiches, antibiotics and pain killers, eventually (against all odds) made a full recovery. Once the injuries had healed and the dog regained fitness they decided to do a temprement test to establish any problems with the dogs behaviour. It passed all except for food agression, this was established by a woman placing a bowl of food on the floor when the dog was hungry and poking in a dummy hand to the food bowl whilst the dog was eating..... the dog attacked the arm. After this, the temprement tester fussed the dog with no problems. The decision was to kill the dog as they felt that they could not offer it for adoption due to this faiult and it was put to sleep. Personally, I think this is disgusting and that the Humane Society are as bad as the people who abused the dog in the first place. Of course the dog is going to be defensive over it's food..... it was starved and left alone with a 14 pound tow chain cut in to it's neck for months. But even after that it was lovely natured except for one thing.... food agression. The dog; even when first rescued was perfectly capable of eating a meal if it had been offered. The test could have been done at this stage but instead they put the animal through the treament trauma and rehab and waited until it was fit and healthy before deciding to kill it. Many dog trainers (Cesar Milan for one) have shown that this kind of bad habit can be trained out of a dog if done correctly. Surely, if the expense can be spared for a TV crew, 2 dog officers, numerous vets, kennel fee's, food and medicine they could at least afford to spare a little time to teach the dog right from wrong? Am I missing something or do I have a valid point? moreResolved Question: Need copy of adoption certificate, lost original, where can I get a replacement?

My mother is giving me POA and of course we need 2 witnesses. These are the guidelines as to who can NOT be a witness: any person appointed as attorney-in-fact or alternate, the spouse or children of your attorney-in-fact or alternate, any person related to you by blood, marriage, or adoption, and any person entitled to receive anything under any last will and testament that you have made. Can my child's father be a witness? We are not married, nor is he entitled to anything. We are in Pennsylvania if that helps.Yea, thanks Steven F...my mother has ALS and would only be able to make a mark so we would definitely need witnesses. I was just curious if my child's father would qualify as one or if having children by him technically made us related by blood. moreResolved Question: Can my husband adopt my daughter?
Ok well my daughter is almost 3 years old. Her biological has father has never been in the picture and never wanted anything to do with her and never paid a cent for her. His rights were terminated almost a year ago by a judge. She has his last name and I would like to change her last name to my husbands last name. But the social security office says that I dont have the legal right to change her last name and that I need to go through the courts and have my husband adopt her first before I can change her name. My husband has been there since the day she's been born and has taken care of her in every way and does everything with her like a father should. She loves him and he loves her and she's always called him daddy. We have another son together to and he does not treat her any differently than him. He would very much like to adopt her. We live in Pennsylvania in lycoming county. The problem is is that my husband is currently unemployed and I'm only working part time at the moment and so we cant really afford an attorney right now. And I'm not sure how to go about finding a free attorney. How do I find a free attorney? Can I change her name without him adopting her and he can adopt her later on when we can afford it? How long is the adoption process? moreResolved Question: My step father wants to adopt me.?
The reason is because I would have the benefits that his own daughters have if he were to adopt me. But in the long run I feel uneasy giving up my last name. Is it possible for me to be his daughter and still keep my last name that I was born with or do I have to take my step fathers last name? I live in Pennsylvania and I'm not very up to date on the adoption laws. moreResolved Question: can anyone help my husband and i with our travel costs with our adoption????

I am 19 years old, I will be 20 by the time my baby is born. My boyfriend's parents are trying to force me to give my baby up for adoption and they threatened that if I don't they will fight for custody. They are horrible people, they wished the baby would die. There is no way I would EVER want them to get custody of my child. They insist that I couldn't take care of my baby. Is there any way they would be able to get custody of my baby? I live in Pennsylvania, and I know by law they would need to prove that I am an "unfit" parent and the court decides what is in the best interest of the child's welfare. moreResolved Question: dogs for rescue, sale, adoption etc.?

I know I've asked about this thing in the past. I just wanted to vent that genealogy is a fantastic hobby and is very rewarding when you find even the smallest breakthrough in your family tree. I've been working on my family tree for a few years now and had to work hard to find out my grandmother's birth parents as listed on her original birth certificate. The two parents names do not appear to fit with people born at the time indicated on the cert! Father Louis Schallenberger, 30 years old at time of grandma's birth - Jan 26, 1925 - cert says his hometown unknown, job unknown, current residence uknown. Mother Bernice Ochs, 29 years old at time of grandma's birth - cert says her hometown was Dayton, job listed as 'housework', baby was born in Cincinnati OH. I can find people (and the Yahoo Answers community has helped me) who somewhat resemble these parents, but not enough for me to throw caution to the wind and decide that I must be related to them. In the case of the father alone, the US census records find a Lewis Schallenberger (b. 1896 Pennsylvania), a Lawrence/Leo Schallenberger )b. 1896 Indiana), a Louis Schellenberger (b. 1893 Indiana but lived in California during the time my grandmother was born), etc. There's a good chance the mother's, father's, or both parents' names are wrong on the cert, whether they're made up or just misspelled or middle names as first names. I just can't believe how many similar/slight misspelled names belong to both Louis Schallenberger and Bernice Ochs according to Ancestry.com...there are so many checks and balances I feel I have to go through as an amateur genealogist before feeling confident that I can fill in the blanks with an individual. For any of you without an adoption in your family tree, consider yourself lucky. Since Louis Schallenberger/Bernice Ochs did not marry after conceiving my grandmother, I am taking leaps of faith to decide how they might have met up in or near Ohio in the mid-20s. Obviously, you cannot approach either person's family (assuming the actual parent's family may be located) to ask if their great grandpa or grandma ever had a kid out of wedlock and gave it up to an orphanage in Cincinnati :) Illegitimate children are just amazingly difficult to track in family history, particularly if you're the first of your family to know any details regarding the birth parents. For any of you who have solved an adoption issue of your own in your genealogy, what methods did you use to put the pieces together? Did you base your search mostly on geographical proximity of the potential parents? Did you resort to a DNA test to try to match ancestry? Do you have any tips at all for a very frustrated genealogist with 25% of his tree's limbs missing? moreResolved Question: Where Can I Find A Puppy?
Hey Guys, Me and my mom have decided we were really lonely, our solution? A dog! However, we're having trouble finding one. Adoption is too hard of a process. Especially up here where all adoption centers (for the breeds we want) are run out of foster homes. We want to see the puppy we're getting before we get it, obviously. We want a puppy, no adults, and we wouldn't mind adopting if the adoption process isn't terribly long. Here's our criteria. -- Within Three Hours Of Greencastle Pennsylvania -- Under 600 Dollars -- Female --Preferably Pure -- Preferably Through A Breeder And Here's Our Breeds (These we've all researched and are suitable for our home) --Siberian Husky -- Pomeranian (very furry--moms preference) -- Yorkie -- Mini Schnauzer Thanks Guys Its Been Really Hard. Even petfinder.com doesn't seem to be doing it for us.Sorry, I forgot. We'd like a dog that will be ready around June 11th (end of school) Or One we can reserve Til we're ready and have time to fully devote to the puppy stage.Oh my mom smokes. Thats a problem for MOST shelters up here. They ran us around for two months once and then came to visit our home a third time and said we couldnt have the pom because we smoked. Theres nothing wrong with foster homes except that we prefer not to run around to twenty different home to find the right dog for our family. I said i researched these dogs and we do understand the differences. moreResolved Question: It might be hard to believe, but im pretty sure Bam Margera's my biological father.?
I know it dont sound exactly believable, but Im almost positive Bam Margeras my biological father. I was put up for adoption when I was almost 2 years old so i dont remember my mother. I know that she was born in Pennsylvania, which is where bam is from.I found out she died but Im not sure when. My real mom had me when she was about 18, and I dont know if she couldnt take care of me or what but after a while she put me up for adoption. a couple years ago... i found out i was adopted and from that moment Ive wanted to find out who my real parents are. I easily found the file for my mother, which gave me all the information about her. She would have been 31 this year. for some reason i couldnt access the file for my father. but, i also know my mother had DATED bam margera around the time i was born as unbelievable as it might be. and i also think i kind of look like him. and theres just alot of things that make sense. what I think of it is maybe my mother didnt know that bam was my father. or maybe she didnt want me to have contact with him. i dont really know what to make of it, but i truly think he's my real father. it just so happens that my adoptive sister used to threaten me with knives and sharp objects when i was little, and sometimes even throw them at me. so im deathly afraid of needles and other sharp objects so i cant try the blood test because im too scared... (i also refuse to have shots done) so i really have no way to prove it. if you can think of any way to help me prove it in a nonlegal way, then please answer!!! this isnt a joke... the reason im doing this is because ive been through so much in my life... and ive just made up this theory, i like to call it. its pretty complicated so the only real way to understand is going through it. basically if people lie to me, i dont want contact with them... not because of what they lie about, its just the fact they would do it. I mean, how can i trust them after that right? well anyway just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!! moreResolved Question: Are These Horses/Adoption Sites too Good to be True?

I recently got married to the man that my son calls daddy even though he isn't his real father. His real father basically blew him off. I am the only person listed on his birth certificate. I want to change just his last name on his birth certificate and social security card. moreResolved Question: IS THIS REAL or an EXAGERRATION?
The Pennsylvania Family Institute is opposed to HB 300, amending the Human Relations Act to add sexual orientation and gender-identity. The problems with adding this language to the Human Relations Act extend far beyond the inadequate exceptions for religious institutions. Instead, the addition of this language puts decisions implicating homosexual behavior on the same level with racial bigotry. Adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the Human Relations Act is going to get a lot of reasonable institutions and individuals in significant trouble: • What if a religious school expelled students for homosexual sex? That could constitute a violation based on denial of a public accommodation. Someone may argue against this example in that Human Relations Act protects mere “status” and nothing more. However, regardless of the wording of such laws, their application has moved well beyond mere status. In fact, this is a real life example from California where a religious school ran afoul of a law preventing discrimination on the basis of “sexual orientation” after expelling two students for that exact reason. • What if a photographer refused to photograph a same-sex “wedding” ceremony? That could violate the public accommodation provision. In New Mexico a photographer was fined $6,600 after she refused to do so. To be clear, she did not refuse to serve homosexual clients, but merely wished to avoid photographing such a ceremony. She was still found her guilty of discrimination on the basis of “sexual orientation”. • What if a religious landowner did not want to use its property to facilitate such a ceremony? That, too, could violate the public accommodation provision. The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association of the United Methodist Church was preliminarily found guilty of discrimination after it refused to allow its property to be used for a civil union ceremony. Again, it was not prohibiting entry by homosexuals, it just refused to have its property used for such a ceremony. As a result, prosecution continues, it may face a fine, and it has lost part of its tax exempt status. • What if a physician declines to perform in vitro fertilization on a lesbian patient when it violates the physician’s moral beliefs to bring a child into a non-married relationship? A California court found this choice was a violation of the law against discrimination on the basis of “sexual orientation.” • What if a religious adoption placement agency refuses to place children into a homosexual relationship? Catholic Charities in Massachusetts abandoned its adoption placement ministry for religious reasons rather than comply with a similar law in MA. moreResolved Question: Horse Camps for teens 15 and up. Have any excellent recomandations?
I'm looking for a horse camp that offers you each and every day to spend with horses wether it be learning how to do the more chore like parts of care, riding (western), and all of that good stuff. I live in Pennsylvania, but it is a camp, so if it's far away that's ok. I was also hoping not to get bunched in with younger kids just because I'm newer to the horse world. Many adults learn late. I was hoping I could get something for older teens, I'm currently 15. I know a good bit, but I'd like it to start pretty basic. I'm looking to go to a horse camp as soon as school lets out, and I want it to be a long trip, but not extremely long because I have other animals at home to worry about. After my riding lessons, horse camp, and additional training, I'm looking into adoption. moreResolved Question: independent adoption question on B fathers and interstate?
Hello all. We recently began the process to adopt an older child when I received an email from one of my best friends younger sisters. She is the mom of two beautiful girls and found herself preg. again and just can not do it. She knows we want to adopt and if she decides (still has about 6 months to go) truly wants to place the baby with us. I will be seeking a lawyer soon but I do have a question. She is completely unsure who the father of this baby is. She lives in Pennsylvania, could anyone tell me the "rules" for this? Advice welcome too! Thank you!Thank you for your continued answers. In terms of finding the father it will be highly unlikely. I am not aware of her background but she is currently married but separated. Her husband is not the father and I believe the baby was conceived in another state and the father could more than likely prove to be an illegal immigrant. As I may have mentioned we already have an appt. with a lawyer, just trying to get some questions out of my head now before I go from someone who has been through this before. moreResolved Question: Is there anyone who can help me find a male Husky newborn puppy up for adoption in the New York area?

Hello, I am hoping that someone could help me in figuring out who to use for our Home Study in Pennsylvania. I have no idea where to start. Do I need to use an agency or does the State have someone who provides this service? I should add we're "networking" right now and won't be signing up with an adoption agency for a few months but want to get a Home Study done in the meantime just in case the networking works. Thanks so much.WOW, isn't Maggie a friendly person! Obviously she doesn't know anything about adoption. I don't understand why people just can't answer the question at hand. I am not asking for people's opinions I just want an answer to the question that I asked. Vineland police arrested 26-year-old Daniel C. Tyce on Friday and charged him with practicing medicine without a license. He is being held on $10,000 bail. Police say he ran a business called South Jersey Small Animal Rescue, falsely identifying himself as Dr. Danielle Smith, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania veterinary school. Police say he inoculated pets and offered small animals for adoption for a fee. He also solicited donations, claiming the agency was a nonprofit. Authorities say it was not. Police do not know if Tyce has retained a lawyer. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090115/ap_on_fe_st/odd_bogus_veterinarian moreResolved Question: Have you read this statement by Sen. Mel Martinez (R, FL) about PE Obama?
Here are excerpts from Martinez' response to a voter questioning the process by which all candidates, including Obama, are determined to be eligible for office. His letter is detailed and clarifies truth about the process that many people were unaware of during the campaign season: "Thank you for contacting me regarding President-Elect Obama’s citizenship. I appreciate hearing from you and would like to respond to your concerns. "Like you, I believe that our federal government has the responsibility to make certain that the Constitution of the United States is not compromised. "We must fight to uphold our Constitution through our courts and political processes. "Article II of the Constitution provides that “no Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.” "The Constitution, however, does not specify how that qualification for office is to be enforced. "As you may know, a voter recently raised this issue before a federal court in Pennsylvania. On October 24, 2008, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania released an order in the case of Berg v.Obama.In that case, the plaintiff, Phillip Berg, raised the same issue that your letter raises regarding proof of the President-Elect’s birthplace. "Through his lawsuit, Mr. Berg sought to compel President-Elect Obama to produce a certified copy of his birth certificate. "The District Court dismissed Mr. Berg’s suit and held that the question of Obama’s citizenship is not a matter for a court to decide. "*****The court further noted that voters, not courts, should decide whether a particular presidential candidate is qualified to hold office.**** "Presidential candidates are ****vetted by voters**** at least twice - first in the primary elections and again in the general election. President-Elect Obama won the Democratic Party’s nomination after one of the most fiercely contested presidential primaries in American history. And, he has now been duly elected by the majority of voters in the United States. "Throughout both the primary and general election, concerns about Mr. Obama’s birthplace were raised. "The voters have made clear their view that Mr. Obama meets the qualifications to hold the office of President." I think Martinez' letter clarifies the respect and expectations that the Founding Fathers had regarding the capacity of individual American voters to expect and discern qualifications, and to empower themselves to make wise choices in accordance with the Constitution. Did our Founding Fathers expect too much of us? What do you think? "the voters have made clear their view......" moreResolved Question: what do you think about people getting an abortion?

I'm fifteen years old and pregnant by my nineteen year old boyfriend. I live in Pennsylvania, so it's illegal for me to make any decisions without parental consent. I would really like to know of options I have in my home state, or if there is a nearby state in which I can get an abortion without notifying my parents. I will consider adoption as a last resort.I appreciate everyone's input, but I wasn't looking for a lecture or a lesson in morality. I'm considering telling my parents, or at least just my dad, sometime soon. I don't know how I'll be able to though. I'm just really scared. moreTop Pennsylvania Adoption Links
