Some of his international associations are rather loosely drawn, such as the "Korean" hot pot, which is really more Vietnamese ... My favorite, though, were the moist sugar-rolled apple fritters in cider caramel. They harked back to Tellez's brief ...

Hot Caramel Apple Cider Questions asked

Open Question: Any people out there who do/used to work at Starbucks?

I would like to know the recipe or at least the ingredients to a Hot Caramel Apple Cider drink. Is it really just the three things: Apple Cider, Caramel, & Whipped Cream on top? Thanks for any help. I don't feel like having to pay $3 for 16oz of something that's easy to make at home. :P more

Resolved Question: How would you rate my child's diet?

He's 4. For breakfast- 4 ounces of gerber yogurt juice, and pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, or something with egg. For his snack- at school---a little bit of salad (he lovesss salad), fruit, a cheese stick, and water For his lunch at school- i pack a little bit of pasta, a little bit of soup, and a sandwich---he doesn't eat all of it though For his snack after school- i get him a starbucks drink (like hot chocolate, caramel apple cider, etc.), a pastry at starbucks, and a yogurt parfait at starbucks He eats his dinner with veggies, and gets dessert---which is like ice cream on saturdays, a popsicle, a brownie, a cake, or a piece of candy.Oh, and he gets juice with dinner. more

Voting Question: Hot apple spice drink @ Starbucks or B&N Cafe?

I got a Hot Apple Spice at the Barnes and Noble cafe the other day, and since I know that not all Starbucks products are at the B&N cafes (and vice versa), I wasn't sure if you could get this drink at a regular Starbucks. The only information I could find was for a caramel apple spice at Starbucks, but I know what I had did not have caramel. And, I'm fairly certain what I had was actual cider, and NOT apple juice. At least it tasted that way, anyway. Please help! :) more

Resolved Question: Am I trying to encorporate too many elements into the wedding?

My wedding is Autumn 2010, and my colors are ivory and purple. The ceremony is going to be on a rock overlook that overlooks a valley of trees, and the reception in a log and stone pavillion nearby, all in a local state park, where I was proposed to. For the ceremony I'm wanting to have a handbinding and a ring and vow exchange. To honor both of our religions. At the end of the ceremony we will have a butterfly release in memory of those who cannot be present. For the reception I'm going to have a semiformal dinner (field green salad with bleu cheese and balsamic vingrette, turkey, pumpkin soup, whole wheat rolls, sage stuffing, squash and eggplant gratain, and pears poached in vanilla wine with cinnamon butter drizzle) with dancing, and for dessert I'm going to have a cupcake tower (pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese icing) and vanilla bean ice cream. For decorations I'm going to be using a lot of string lights and tulle. For centerpeices I'm wanting to take ostrich feathers and curled twigs (with silk leaves glued to them), plop them on a mirror in a vase that will be filled with faux pearls, and purple and clear glass beads that look like gemstones with floralytes. And put a small bow around the vase. For the favor table I'm going to have caramel apples, hot cocoa mix, and hot cider mix each in their own bushel basket (which has been painted ivory with a purple bow). Does all this sound visually and mentally overwhelming? I'm nervous that its too much! But it also is everything I want! I don't want to stun my guests with so much detail and so many different elements!Lol. I realize tulle and lights can be tacky (and I hate tacky) I'm really nervous about that. I wouldn't do it but, since the pavillion is old and idiots have engraved dumb and grotesque things into the log ceiling, I have to. more

Resolved Question: What to give for favors at the wedding?

We are having an autumn 2010 wedding, and I don't know what to do for favors!! I was thinking of caramel apples for everyone and then either apple cider mix of hot chocolate mix (guests can pick their own out of a bushel basket). But these things will be eaten and long forgotten. What is something else memorable that I can give my guests that will last forever? more

Resolved Question: Getting Married, Just a Few Questions!?

I'm planning on getting married in October 2010... Do you think that is enough time to plan? I've never been married before, so I have no clue where to begin, does anyone have any tips or websites they can direct me too for some budgeting/ideas/timelines? My tentative colors are going to be on more of an indian summer theme, royal blue, eggplant, sage, rust and pearl/ivory.... Trying to stay away from browns and golds or copper/bronze colors, I don't like them. But I'm also trying to keep a warm tone. My menu will be as follows: Turkey and turkey gravy, oyster stuffing, squash casserole, fried eggplant, whole wheat rolls, fried pears w/cinnamon butter, and a field green salad w/reduced balsamic vingrette and bleu cheese. To drink we'll have hot apple cider, coffee (obviously) and cold apple cider, what else can you suggest? My cake is actually going to be a cupcake tower w/pumpkin cupcakes and whipped cream cheese icing, some w/nuts, some without. I have kept everyones palates in mind and all of the foods on my menu are foods that I know the guests like (as I've cooked all these things for them at one point or another). As favors I'll be passing out hot chocolate and apple cider mix as well as caramel apples rolled in sugared walnuts. For center peices, I have no clue what to do... I was thinking of having glass vases w/multicolored pebbles (to match my colors) in the bottom, a beta fish (to match my colors, a different color fish for each table) and a floating candle, what do you think? I'm also thinking of having each table in a specific color, there will only be about 40 guests or so, and we're a very close knit family, so having 10 four seat tables will be sufficient, I think, what do you think? As for the wedding party table I was thinking of having white lights strung around the table and then covering them in a sheer cloth, to add a bit of warmth and romance... What kind of music do you think would be good? Also, what can I do to bring the warmth of fall indoors? I was thinking of having an out door reception, but it will get too cold, our ceremony is going to be out doors, however. Also, we're having a butterfly release during our ceremony to remember those that will not be with us.... Any ideas/suggestions/improvements you could make will be greatly appreciated!! And how do I kindly put on the invites that no alcohol permissed? more

And how do I kindly put on the invites that no alcohol permissed? For financial reasons I'm doing the planning my self, the only people I'm paying to do something for me is the seamstress, the florist (which I might not even need, depends on how my garden does), and the place we'll be having the reception, and that's just for the space, and my friend for hooking me up w/waiters/waitresses. Between myself and my bridesmaids we'll be cooking, decorating, making favors etc... I have a lot of family I have to fly in, and I'll have to buy a few brides maids their dresses, so my budget will be tight. Thanks for the offer however! more

Resolved Question: Mmmmm....Dessert.?

I am getting married this October and my fiance and I have really made and effort to put our personal stamp on the day. We both looooove sweets so for the reception we are having a candy buffet, cookie table, and instead of traditional wedding cake, our favorite bakery is making their famous burnt almond torte into a wedding cake for us. We are so excited! To top it off on a fall evening, we are serving hot caramel apple cider with the cake. Now I thought this was great, but both my mother and his mother think that people are not going to like this because the cake is smothered in almonds and not everyone likes apple cider. I feel like this is our special day and if they don't like it, we have plenty of other sweets on the candy buffet and cookie table. Do agree and think the majority of people will not enjoy this? I thought it was fantastic...Of course we will also be serving soft drinks, coffee and alcohol more

Resolved Question: Unique Ideas for a Fun Reception?

I want to make sure that our guests (and us) have a great time at the reception. We have tried to add some "special touches" to have our stamp on the day. - We have a great 6 piece band playing - We are serving hot caramel apple cider with dessert (October wedding) - Instead of traditional wedding cake, our bakery is making their famous burnt almond torte into a wedding cake for us - We are having a candy buffet so guests can take home their favorite goodies (we personalized bags that say "have a sweet goodnight" with our names and date) - We are having a cariacture artist so guests can get their cartoon portraits I am all tapped out of ideas......Any other ideas on things you have seen that were fun? Thanks!!! more
