Open Question: About Apple Cider Vinegar?

So I've heard and read about the many benefits of apple cider vinegar and I won't lie, I'm impressed. But I wanted to know, does it really work? I also heard it's really good for your face too, if so, then how do you make a face wash, cleanser, etc. with it? please leave answers, links, personal experiences and so on, thanks! .) more

Open Question: When will the warts clear up?

I am a fit and healthy 27 year old, and I was infected with genital warts by an ex boyfriend after he cheated on me. I have done endless research in how to get rid of them. I am horribly ashamed at having been infected with them, and I have had them for what seems like years now. I have read on many websites that I should only be infected for around two years before my body clears them up. I have a very strong immune system, I never get colds or cold sores and my skin is clear. So it's not my immune system allowing these warts to manifest. I have tried Vitamin E tablets, banana pith, apple cider vinegar and even Bazuka gel in vain attempts to get rid of them. Please someone tell me how I can make the HPV infection go dormant so that I might enjoy my sex life again. I'm desperate. Any nasty comments will just be ignored, so you haters need not waste your time. Thanks. more

Open Question: Give me your TRIED AND TRUE BEST recipe for Macaroni Salad!?

I don't like the gacky stuff at the deli at the grocery store, and the pre-packaged stuff is grosser yet! Now I want to make a homemade version that is different than what I know. My recipe is: 1 16 ounce package of salad pasta (shells, elbow macaroni, etc) 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar (apple cider vinegar is okay too) 2 cans of 6 1/2 ounces of white albacore tuna in water, drained and broken into small pieces 1/2 cup each of: Sweet Red Pepper small diced Red Onion small diced Celery small diced Water Chestnuts small diced (1/2 cup of small chunked cheese and 1/2 cup of petite peas if desired) 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish 1 teaspoon yellow mustard 1 1/2 cups of Miracle Whip (or Mayo with 1/8 cup of sugar added and 2 tablespoons of vinegar) Salt and pepper to taste Sour cream or half and half to 'wet' the recipe if needed. Make pasta according to package directions, drain and place in a large mixing bowl. Using your hands, splash in and mix the vinegar. Add the remaining ingredients, and with your hands or a spoon if you're squeamish, mix it all together until everything is coated and mixed in. Then, place in a serving bowl, cover tightly with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, and overnight is best. So.. Please! Give it to me! I need Macaroni Salads!! more

Resolved Question: What's a good and inexpensive red wine for someone who hates wine?

My husband and I rarely drink. I especially dislike the taste of alcohol, I don't care for beer or hard liquor and will only partake when the beverage is on the "sweet" side (i.e.-apple cider ale, Mike's lemonade, rum with fruit juice... etc). I would like to start drinking of red wine, mainly for the health benefits. However, since I have the palate of a three-year-old, it's hard to find wine I can tolerate. Mostly, I find wine of any type to be too bitter and acidic tasting--just not pleasant at all; I can barely finish a small glass. So, I haven't been able to "train" my buds to appreciate wine, much less drink it without making the "yuck" face. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive red wine that won't entirely offend my infantile taste buds? I live in the suburbs of a big city, so I do have access to plenty of choices, including Trader Joe's, Cost Plus, and Whole Foods. (please, red wine suggestions only--not interested in white or rosé). Thanks! PS-I did try a red wine once that I liked (can't remember type or vintner). It was Italian, very expensive, very delicate, and nearly flavorless (there had a very faint oak taste, but zero bitterness and no acidic aftertaste). I haven't tried anything like it since. Any ideas what it could have been?I want to answer Gerry G's question with a question: Why waste time answering at all when you can better spend your time watching "Sideways" and snickering snobbishly at anyone who can't "appreciate" life on as many finely attuned levels as you do? more

Voting Question: Save my house from my cats?!?

Suzie was born inside our house and has never in her life used the litter box. We tried to train her, regardless of all our tactics and the tips we received from vets and advice websites, nothing ever worked. She's 4 years old, has went to the vet and got a clear bill of health, she's been spayed, but she constantly urinates and poops all over the living room. She likes to go outside, and we let her, but she will NOT do her business outside. She'll scratch at the door to come in and once she does, she soils the living room carpet and then wants to go back outside to play some more. We tried leaving her outside, but she'll hold it in until she's sick if we don't just let her in and clean up after she's done. The horrible thing of the matter is that most of our other cats are following in her pawprints and the house is becoming nearly uninhabitable. The difference is that the other cats aren't inhibited by which room they go in though. From bedrooms, to dirty laundry, kitchen counters, appliances, the dining room table. They'll urinate EVERYWHERE, but they WILL poop in the litter box, which is one up on Suzie. We love our cats and the majority are already fixed and those that aren't are going to be very soon. We keep the litter boxes clean and it's strange how they'll poop in the litter box but urinate everywhere else. So I need two pieces of advice. 1- What can I do to stop them from soiling the carpets, counters, and pretty much everywhere. They're not normal, they LIKE the smell of oranges and lemons, even vinegar!, so those kinds of deterrents don't work O_O... 2- What can I do to get rid of the smell. I know apple cider vinegar is great for clothes, sheets, and such, but the carpet is so rancid and we really can't afford nor do we have the man power to pull it up or change it. I'm DESPERATE on getting rid of the smell and odors. It's stifling! About us: We live in the country with numerous indoor cats. My dad is a stroke patient and we recently lost our beloved dog Jack. We're all attached to these cats and can't bare to throw them away. Yes money is tight at the moment, but we're getting by and you can't replace love. There are dangerous animals that lurk in the woods around our house at night, so we don't allow any of them to stay outside unless it's during the day and we're home, in which case they always stay around the back patio anyway. I really don't know what to do anymore to get them trained and stop making our house to unpleasant. Most people who used to visit has even stopped coming because of the smell that just won't go away. I completely appreciate any and all advice that can help make our house a home again and put our felines back to being behaved pets. more

Voting Question: Intense vinegar craving?

i've been having really bad cravings for vinegar. mostly apple cider or white vinegar. pregnancy isn't a possibility. and as far as i know, i'm very healthy. could this be my body's way of telling me i'm missing an essential vitamin? i tried to research a bit and all i could find were pregnancy cravings and the possiblity of my body being too alkaline? but i'm still not sure what that means. i know apple cider vinegar has a lot of health benefits, but my cravings are so bad that i've been filling a small cup with vinegar and sipping on it, which is making my throat a bit raw. thanks in advance for any info more

Voting Question: Cough Remedies?? Any Ideas?

I'll try to make this short....I have had a cough for almost three months now. Yes, I am being treated for it by a doctor(s) and I am being tested for a variety of possible causes. (Really, it's a long story that goes nowhere.) I started out with antibiotics and Prednisone back in December/January, and they had no effect. I have tried Mucinex DM, Benzonatate, Codein w/ Promethazine, and I am currently on Hydromet, which is basically liquid Vicodin. I am asthmatic and I am being faithful with my inhalers, breathing treatments, and meds. And just for those of you who are anti-drugs, I tried a concoction of hot green tea, lemon (juice AND rind), honey, and apple cider vinegar, and still no luck. I am constantly exhausted, struggling with my studies, and freaking annoyed because of my cough, plus, as an added bonus, I am annoying others because I cannot stop coughing and clearing my throat. And, yes, the cough is, at times productive. Any ideas out there??? Any options left? Serious answers only please. I have no problem voting you down and reporting you if you are rude/idiotic etc. Thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: acute renal failure in kitten... could the vet be wrong?

10 days ago I brought my kitten to the vet after 36 hours of not eating and extreme lethargy. He was very dehydrated and his blood work was all over the charts but even in the mess of blood values the vet was still able to discern kidney insufficiency after 12 hours of hospitalization everything but the kidney values (Creatinine BUN and also his WBC) were normalized after 36 hours he ripped out his IV and was much stronger but with the next days blood test there was no improvement in the BUN or WBC creatinine was slightly off after another 36 hours not much change She did not tell me what the numbers were but told me that she still didn't know if he had ingested something or if he was born with bad kidneys. His kidneys looked normal on an X-ray not small like in CRF cats and his symptoms came on so suddenly I refuse to believe he was born with bad kidneys as for ingestion I keep no plants in the house and all toxic products (soaps and cleaning products) are kept almost out of reach for even me let alone the cat. Long story short (too late) I was told I could put him down or if I was up to it take him home and make him comfortable with sub-q treatments and a wet food diet (low protein if he would take it). Her prognosis was I would see him steadily decline in the next couple weeks. I took him home Saturday morning I have given him his fluids every day fed him by hand and stimulated his appetite I have also given him dilute apple cider vinegar to help flush his system and the antibiotics provided by the vet. It has been 5 1/2 days and he is not declining he is getting stronger every day he has stopped drinking so much and urinates 2-3 times per day his bowel movements seem normal a little soft from all wet food but in keeping with what he eats. His twitching has almost completely stopped (was a full body tremor when he came home) He sleeps about 18 hours a day I think that is normal my healthy cat does the same... is it possible that he is recovering? At least to a manageable CRF level? is it possible he had an infection clouded by the other blood values? Could this death sentence she gave my cat be preemptive? I am not looking for false hope I just think it is strange that nearly halfway through his proposed life expectancy he is stronger than he was on his IV fluids in the hospital... has anyone had a cat that recovered from Acute renal failure? How long was the process of recovery after hospitalization... This vet was good and cared but I think she was more worried that I would run out of money than anything else I just want to know if anyone else has seen these cats turn around at a little slower paceoh and I check him for dehydration multiple times per day and he is always hydrated sometimes first thing in the morning he skin takes an extra second to spring back but nothing that my other cat doesn't show from time to time. Also when he came home his urine didn't have an odor now it has a light ammonia smell to it... could that mean he is clearing toxins again? I know the natural response is ask the vet but I think at this point she is more operating on a cover her ass mode than anything. (can't say i blame her since everyone sues everybody else if things don't go their way) more

Voting Question: What diet pills/slimming aids/craving reducing pill thingies can a 15 year old female take?

Yeah, yeah I know it sounds stupid. Don't worry I'm not going to go into the heavy stuff like Alli, Adios, etc etc. I was thinking maybe a kind of apple cider based product to control cravings? Or just something a little lighter than the whole diet pill, breaking down fat kind of thing.. if that makes any sense. Cause I don't want to mess up my matabolism. I mean, I want to be thin but I'm not stupid. I'm not going to do anything stupid. So opinions on this? Also, I want to look noticeably thinner in 3 months. I repeat; NOTICEABLY. None of this 1-2 pounds loss per week crap. I know I can do it.. I think. At 5'5 and 9.1 stone I want to be around 8 stone. I know that's not possible in 3 months but in the next 3 months I am making a target; to be noticeably more thin. In your opinion, also, how much weight can one lose in 3 months? Taking into account that one won't necessarily be losing the weight in the most healthiest of ways of course.ok.. emily - and an online pregnancy test is gonna help because...? look i need proper answers here. anyone got some advice? i don't need anybody's sensible crap telling me i'm too young or that i can't loose a noticeable amount of weight in 3 months healthily. people have done it before and you know it. i'm kinda prepared to do anything just would like some advice...and i don't need spam bots either. real people with real experiences please? more

Voting Question: treating my molluscum?

so i noticed some little white looking spots around the top of my neck and around my chin and really thought nothing of it till they started getting bigger over time. at first i thought it was acne but then i went to a dermotolgist and found out it was molluscum so before doing any freezing treatment i decided to go home and wait it out a bit because they go away on their own, i searched online for some homemade remeides and came across seeing many succes storys when using apple cider vinegar/baking soda and using tea tree oil soap in the shower. ive been doing this for about 5 days and notice that the bigger ones got smaller but the little new ones that i thought would be gone first got bigger.. is this because its making them come out or what? is it normal for them to get a little bigger before they fall off or go away? i dont know just thought i should ask because tomorrow i have another dermo appointment to get them treated. more

Voting Question: I don't know what to do with my hair anymore, I need HOME REMEDIES? *10 pts*?

I describe my hair as: Short, medium length, brown, purple bangs I like the "scene" style for my hair, so I straighten it like everydayy. Well, I haven't been really happy with my hair lately. Last year, my hair got really damaged like this around this time, and I used this Serum by John Freida (forgot the name but its made with egg whites). Now, I can't go out and get that same serum. I'm trying to make my official "hair remedy" recipe, but I'm not sure which ingredients are healthiest. I'm going for more silkier, stronger, and softer. I also want it to repair my split ends, if possible. Here are some ingredients I have: Apple Cider Vinegar Miracle Whip Eggs Oatmeal Honey Milk Apple-rasperry Juice Cocktail Cinnamon Allspice I probably have many, many more but this is jsut off the top of my head. If SOMEONE could help me, I will love you forever... lol. I'm desperate. :/ Thanks for all the help in advance! :o)Omg, are u guys retarded? I said HOME REMEDIES. If I wanted to go out and go to the store, I would've said that. I clearly listed ingredients.... :/ more

Resolved Question: Recipe substitutions ... missing a few ingredients for this recipe?

I asked my son to find a recipe for "something different" using chicken thighs that he and I could cook for dinner tonight ... here's the one he picked: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Baked-Teriyaki-Chicken/Detail.aspx I don't have fresh garlic but DO have garlic powder. Also don't have apple cider vinegar but DO have white vinegar and apple juice. I guess I could just sub the garlic powder to taste, but I'm not sure how to go about replacing the ACV (can't believe I'm out ... I always have that!). Could I mix (approx. 50/50) the white vinegar with apple juice, but cut back if necessary on the additional sugar in the recipe? Maybe add a little lemon juice if needed to replace the acidity of the missing ACV? I was reading the reviews of this recipe and some said the sauce is already too sweet, others said not sweet enough, so I guess that's a matter of preference. I would probably like the extra sweetness. Going to the store is out of the question (we're buried in snow), so I have to make do with what's on hand. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: What might I be able to replace these ingredients with?

I decided that I wanted to find a different recipe for chicken and came to the conclusion that it may be interesting to make chicken with apple sauce I found this recipe http://www.recipezaar.com/Grilled-Applesauce-Chicken-132598 but it calls for some ingredients that I don't have, brown sugar and cider vinegar what could I replace these ingredients with? I know I have balsamic vinegar, regular sugar,10x sugar (powder sugar), and this stuff called panela in spanish which I guess is kind of like hardened brown sugar but I'm not exactly sure.Could any of those work well to replace the stuff I don't have? ps. I'm not exactly the best cook in the world, just putting that out there. more

Voting Question: Will this recipe be nice? What would you change?

Ok so I was going to get a pork tender loin and cut it into medallions and fry them, and then get some real good quality black pudding from the butcher and fry that too then layer them on the plate. Then in the same pan I was going to deglaze the bottom either with cider or with brandy, then add cream and some herbs (tarragon maybe?) then pour a small amount of sauce over the brandy and black pudding. Then for the potatoes I was going to make mash and stir through a small amount of apple sauce. I have made it before without the black pudding and using cider not brandy, and everyone loved it but I fancy doing something a bit different. So any suggestions? Should I stick with the mash or maybe do really golden crispy roasties? Cheers xxxxx more

Resolved Question: Hair Problem Can Anyone Help?

First Of All I'm Sorry For Asking A Long Question Like This. I'm a 16 Year Old White Male In South Africa.. And I Have Really Thick Hair. Some Of My Friends Thought I Was Portuguese Or Something. I Started Shaving At 13. But Anyway I Want To Know How I Can Make My Hair Soft And Not Look So Thick. When My Gets Around 3cm or So It Starts To Curl. I Don't Mind That But I Mind That The Longer My Hair Gets The Thicker And Kinda "Plastic" It Gets.. When I Wash My Hair It Gets Soft But Around 5 or More Hours It Starts Getting Really Hard And It Kinda Starts Feeling Like Fake Plastic Kind Of Hair. I Found 2 Answers And I Just Wanna Know If It'll Work For Me. 1)I Wash My Hair With Warm Water And A High Quality Mayo (containing eggs and vegetable oil) Then Wrap A Hot Towel Around My Hair For 30min. Then Wash It Off In Cold Water With Shampoo.. The Other Answer Was 2)After I Washed My Hair I Should Take A Cup Of Apple Cider Vinegar And Wash My Hair With It. I Just Wanna Have Nice Soft Hair. So Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated. Thank You Very Much For Reading And For Your Help. more

Resolved Question: Is this a good diet (20 characters)?

For breakfast on school days I eat a bowl of mini-wheats. For lunch I have a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich on pumpernickel bread, and grapes. Sometimes I'll have a cookie or two. (I bring water to school so I'll have sips of that throughout the day.) Dinner is usually the problem- my mom makes really good food so I can't help but eat a little too much. She usually makes things like chicken or soup or pizza or assorted vegetables. I usually have apple sauce with dinner, and to drink I usually have apple cider or milk. And then I try not to eat dessert, but when I do, it's usually like cookies and milk or a slice of pie. Is there anything I should change in my diet, or is this healthy enough? I have a little bit of belly fat that I want to get rid of. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: Will any West country Brits be Wassailing this season?

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's an ancient tradition where you pour cider onto the roots of the apple tree, and lift the Wassailing Queen to put cider soaked pieces of bread in the tree to call for a good harvest. And then, everyone gathers to make a loud din with pots pans, so as to arouse the sleeping tree spirits, followed blank guns being shot into the air. It's an ancient saxon tradition, and I live in Somerset so I spose it's upheld especially here. I'm a Christian, so I don't celebrate it. But, I don't really see much harm in it, other than it's being utterly charming and beautiful :) I was just wandering if any other Westerners/ South-westerners would be celebrating this :D more

Korean Ginseng capsules, 1 Cranberry Fruit 1,500 mg. soft gel which also contains vitamin C, 1 Folic Acid 400 mcg. tablet, 1 C vitamin 500 mg. And I also drink a small amount of apple cider vinegar each morning. And I drink a very small amount of extra virgin olive oil, a very small amount of it. I also drink a cup of kava kava tea every day, and I'm thinking about drinking some chamomile tea.I also eat a banana for break fast, and usually a hamburger for lunch with cheese and mayonnaise on it. I'm trying to lose weight. Some times I also drink a diet poweraide that is supposed to have all the vitamin B complex in it. And I drink plenty of water. Does this sound healthy? And can you give me any tips on dieting? I want to eat more leafy greens like spinach because I've heard they are one of the best things to include in your diet. I also sometimes but some lemon juice in my ice water, but I don't have any at the time. I'm on some psychotropic medication, and one anti depressant, and a muscles relaxer, and ultram for back and knee pain. But it's not a controlled substance yet. And I take all of my medication like I'm supposed too. I'm just wanting to make sure my liver, kidneys and heart are healthy. more

Resolved Question: Is there enough sugar in apple juice to make homemade cider?

This is my first attempt of making cider from apple juice and have made a yeast starter but some of the stuff I read up says that you need to add sugar to the apple juice. Is there enough sugar in the apple juice to aid in the fermenting process in other words can I just add the juice to the yeast and will it be ok? Thankyou (PS. apple juice is shop-bought organic fresh apple juice no preserves or anything and has a sugar content of 20.6g hope its enough sugar so I don't have to add any) more

Resolved Question: can my home made wine kill me due to methanol?

First off I'm way old enough to be doing this and second I was a little tipsy when I got the bright idea of, "hey how can you make alcohol?" I checked out this website http://www.ehow.com/how_2310993_make-own-alcohol.html and followed all the instructions. Bought myself some bakers yeast and added some Kern's peach juice and its been sitting in my closet for 4 days now. Before I totally drink this stuff I need you, the expert to tell me if this will create methanol and I'll wake up either blind tomorrow or dead. serious answers only please. (This is purely for fun purposes) These things are not meant to be taken in a joking manner.I took the balloon off and let it sit for about 15 min. I had a couple sips and it tastes like a light fruit wine, very good surprisingly and a little bubbly like apple cider. Also the average temperature which it has been sitting is about 65 degrees in the dark I shook it up once due to the sugar sitting at the bottom after a couple days. Again will this kill me? or do I have nothing to worry about? Thank you.it also smells a little sour like wine but a good smell and tastes sweet and good. (I only had a couple sips) I plan on drinking a few glasses to get a good thing going. Thanksnothing wrong with the balloon. I used CO2 and filled the balloon for a week to take of any chemicals. So what you think? safe? more

Resolved Question: Acid Reflux Drug Free?

Acid reflux. Coming out of acid reflux. My story may be able to help some of you. They say that acid reflux is caused by poor eating habits and or bacteria in your stomach. Right before my episode with acid reflux I was eating healthy, in perfect shape and had my perfect work hard. Once day, I stared having all the symptom of acid reflux and no one knew what I had. This went on for months. I forced my doctor to check for Helicobacter pylori. which I ended up testing positive. I got omeprazole (Prilosex) plus 2 antibiotics. 4 pills a day for 14 days. After the treatment my stomach was hitching and I still had a hard time eating. I was still creating too much acid so my doctor give me again omeprazole (Prilosex). I refused to be on any drug and I knew that the omeprazole (Prilosex) was not the answer it was just a bandage without dealing with the root of the problem. This is what I did: I knew the Key out of this was: I need to keep the body alkaline, the bad bacteria don't like an alkaline environment. I stop take the omeprazole (Prilosex) and starting taking a of Jarro Dophilus EPS (can find it in health store). The 3rd day I started to feel the difference. I was able to eat more verity of food. Aloe vera juice before every meal Eating every 3 hrs small meal. No row vegetable - fresh steam vegetable only and protein. No oily or greasy food at all, not black chocolate , not alcohol, no caffeine, no soda and not spices in your food. Avoid hot water, somehow my system does quite down with colder drink and food. I eat protein and green 3 time a day and a lot of low fat low sugar organic yogurt as snack and all day. I take 4 pills a day of Jarro Dophilus EPS . One pill 45 min before every meal to help my stomach and intestines get their natural bacteria back while controlling the excess of acid the stomach is creating. Drink the pills with hot water It makes swallowing the pills easier. I drink Apple Cider Vinegar (2 table spoons in 0.5l drink of water) throughout the day with a lot of water. I don't mix the protein & green vegetable with fruits. Sugar create more acid so I am very careful with the fruits I eat (low sugar index fruits only) and I don't eat any carbohydrate for the same reason. I recommend: Cranberry juice-Prune juice (the sugar free type mix with H2O) 2 tea spoons of honey mix with water before eating. Avocado-apples-banana-melon-walnuts-almonds-tofu-sweet potato-fish-Grilled chicken (legs grilled) easier on your stomach. Not red meat at the beginning it is too hard on the stomach. Camomile tea help digestion process. Stop eating 3hrs before bedtime. I sleep with your upper body higher than the bed level almost in a semi sitting position. I don't lift weight or jog because I was creating too much acid and it was giving me some palpitation. (yes, the doctor said that the palpitation have nothing to do with acid reflux-there not connected-well doctor have news for you everything is connected and how can a super athlete with no hard problem get some palpitation every time his stomach create too much acid). To avoid the palpitation, I ride my bike slowly without too much effort, and also walk. I make sure I space out my workout throughout the day. Now I am getting better and I know you can be acid reflux free..it take time and patience. I am almost certain that a lot of us will test negative for every test on the planet regarding stomach bacteria but small bacteria such as Escherichia coli-E-coli and other don't really have a test for them and you could have something in your system putting your stomach out of balance. So fight back by drinking Apple Cider Vinegar to clean your system and work on increasing the growth of the good bacteria your body need. Mediation is a must in the healing process Good luck to you all. more

Resolved Question: What's the most efficient way to get rid of finger warts?

I've been reading about different ways to get rid of them, like covering with glue, nail polish, or duct tape, (Which doesn't seem that appealing.) and other treatments like various OTC medications, going to the doctor, or even apple cider. It's a first for me, so I would like the way(s) to get rid of the warts around my nails, that's not time consuming, is fast, and makes my fingers look as close as normal as possible. more

Resolved Question: BBQ : Reuse of meat marinade in a "water/charcoal smoker" water pan.?

I have been taught that it is unsafe to reuse any raw marinade juices from meat and to toss it. What a waste! However, I have a Brinkmann "Smoke'n Grill" charcoal smoker. I have marinated ribs and chicken (separately of course) in Apple Cider, etc. overnight in the refrigerator. My question is; Is it safe to use the drained raw meat cider marinade into the water pan above the charcoal pan for added steaming flavours and is the marinade still safe to use after 5 to 7 slow low temp cooking hours for use as a sauce base etc.? (I would assume if the meat was cooked then so would the marinade) Comments please, I don't want to make anyone ill. Thanx....... SteveB more

Resolved Question: Has anyone tried an amethyst in animals water bowl to repel fleas?

I was hoping to get answers from someone who has actually tried this and gotten a result. I gave my cat the flea medicine "Hartz," but after her fleas were still their a week later I decided to search the internet to see if it would be okay to give her something else. Thats when I saw all this terrible stuff about "Hartz" and how you should never give it too your cat. Seeing this makes me not want to give her another medicine but try something natural since she probably has enough medicine to last a month. I saw garlic (was poisnous), dish soap (which can dry out skin), apple cider (sounds sticky), and a few others. I thought the amethyst stone in the water bowl sounded the safest and most intereasting and thought I might give it a whirl. But has anyone actually tried this? Does it work if you have? Please don't anwer if you haven't, I want answers from experience or someone you know close with experience. Not just opinions. Thanks! The amythest is suppose to work by a mineral getting into the water that she will drink, get a taste in her blood or a smell, the fleas hate. She doesn't have a ton of fleas right now. I gave her a bath and only found one. So please don't freak out! more
