Dog Birthday Cake Questions asked

Open Question: I am SO furious with my dad?

He is being such a hypocrite lately. My mom died when I was 10 (almost 7 years ago). In September he got his first girlfriend since my mom's death. She is very nice and everything, but it's just weird anyway. At first it was great because he always spent the night at her house on weekends and I could just go out and get drunk or stoned or whatever (don't be so quick to judge, I rank first in my class of over 300 kids, I keep my priorities straight). My dad has been out of work for about 4 years and hasn't done much to even look for a job. Every day he takes the dog for a walk in the morning, then comes home, reads the paper and eats breakfast, and hangs out with his girlfriend. That's his life. Sometimes I do not know how we get by financially- I make about $3,000 a year and that's more than my dad makes. And all I do is sell pastries on Saturday mornings. He doesn't do dishes and then gets mad when we (my 14 year old brother and I) don't put ours in the dishwasher immediately. He only takes out the garbage in his room on trash day and gets mad if we do the same. He is never home to talk because he is always with his girlfriend, then gets mad when I have my iPod in while doing homework because he can't have a conversation with me. And it's not just my brother and I noticing this- these two couples who are best friends with my dad have said things to my brother and I (one told my brother that my dad has been ignoring us more, one told me, "Your dad and his girlfriend are gross. They were making out constantly at the Sharks game. She's nice, but they don't know their PDA limits."). I love cake decorating and I'm quite good at it. For my friend's birthday (tomorrow), I made a cake with a chocolate butterfly set on top of roses. I was really excited to show my dad and all he said was, "I thought you would put two butterflies on it." I just gave him a disappointed look and then he got all pissy at me and said I was rude. I spent 3 hours on the cake. He is driving me up the wall, but if I say anything I know he will get all defensive. more

Voting Question: I want to make a birthday cake for our dog that we can enjoy too!?

Our dog's birthday is coming up next week and I want to have a little party for him with his playmates and their owners. I want to do a cake that we can all enjoy and is safe for the dogs. I know no chocolate, and I was thinking of either a carrot or banana cake with cream cheese icing, but I've heard different opinions on other things that are bad for dogs like honey, wheat flour, and baking soda/powder. I had no idea!! If anyone knows any recipes I can use or if I can use the above ingredients please let me know! more

Resolved Question: Is this good enough, it sucks that leap year is every four years, but is it good enough?

My husbands birthday was on February 29th. It is so sad. His parents are divorced and his mother celebrated his birthday every 4 years and his Dad celebrated it on the 28th. Is this fair that his mother wanted him to be born on that date, he was 10 weeks pre-mature and he gets a birthday every four years? According to his mother, he will be celebrating his 8th birthday in 4 years, which I think it is sad. We are getting married in March, and I think it is sad, the way his mother treats him with gifts. His Dad, is the best. When I am with his brothers and sisters and half sibling and step siblings, who ALL live with his Dad, they make me feel like I am in Cheaper By The Dozen or 19 Kids and Counting or Yours Mine and Ours. They are so loving. Especially his step-mother. She is happy and they are like the best family, ever. They are like normal parents and they give birthday gifts every year, not every four years. His mother abused him by verbal, his mother just hates him. I am not serious, she even admitted it. She has a good job, she is not poor, she can afford birthday gifts all the time! She had my husband when she was 14, she is 42 years old! She has a good retirement plan and she had rich parents, who gave her a lot of money. She still refuses to care for my husband and love him. Is that sad ^? Well this year, he wants to forget about his mother and focus on other things. Tonight, we will have a special dinner. I will take him and we will eat with nobody, last night we had a family birthday dinner (and we had a ball/fun time). And I am getting him 2 puppies. I found both at the pound for free, they were cute, they are different breeds, person at pound said they get along great! They will be 8 weeks old today, and I cant wait! We will go to church at 2:00 pm, we will change once we are home and pack up. I am taking him to the beach for 5days, where the pound is located. We will leave the house at 4:30 pm. We will go to a fancy restaurant in fancy clothes at 5:30 pm, while on road. We will eat and have a small cake for dessert. Then we will arrive at the beach condo at 9:30 pm and enjoy a few days. The condo is his Dads so no money :). Road Trip is like $400 and dinner will be $100, but we are fine. I had a budget of $1,500. I got a little extra money at work, so I made it his gift. We will open a gift I got him in the condo and have some whine. Then we will change in PJ's and watch a movie or play video games. Then we will just enjoy 5 days of the beach, we will walk on the beach, take some photos for the wedding, relax, go mini golfing and go to an arcade. We will also go rock climbing and do fun/romantic/interesting things. We will mostly be inside and enjoy the sun set. Then on Friday, we will leave. I will tell him we will have time to look at the pound for an hour or two and we go in. We go to see the English Bull Dog (female) and the Puggle (female) and I will tell him it is ours. He will flip out and get them. We will keep on driving and stop at a Pet Smart, buy supplies and all. Then on Saturday, the next day, at night, he will do a work thing from 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm Then he will come home at 7:00 pm, then we will have a surprise party. I spent about $1,500 on this WHOLE thing and it was my extra money. I bet he will do something special for my birthday, and we might make a baby on the way. Please dont call me spoiled. It is our extra wedding money that we had for the budget of the wedding, the extra honey moon money, the extra work money from work, and some money I saved just for him. I have seen my friends who spent like $4,000 on their husband/wifes birthday. My friend, got her husband an ice sculpture, that would melt in like 3 days or less, for $5,000. Oh, and it was, like a small sculpture. I just build memories for my husband for his birthday, and make up some years his mother ruined for him! more

Resolved Question: Why is Disney racist's against certain dog's?

OK, So I was sitting down to my daily viewing of Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse (Disney Channel) and while entertaining myself with the idea of who I'd rather have an affair with (Daisy or Minnie), I came to realize that Disney discriminates between dogs. Why is Pluto leashed and chained in the backyard, while Goofy creates all sort's of theatrics indoors with a latte in one hand and a danish in the other. Pluto is being treated like a slave, a second class citizen. He is deprived of an education, so he can't speak or act for himself, he is deprived of casual clothes and when the damn birthday cake disappears, PLUTO is blamed (even though it was Donald). In Disney's eye's, if you have dark fur, an overbite and a vertical spine, then you are worth much more than a lowly, light brown, four legged being which in today's society should be held up as equal traits for a dog in all regards. So, is Disney racist? P.S. Why is Donald Duck banned from being half naked in Finland? more

Resolved Question: Are these perfect gifts for my ten year old girl, turning 11, soon?!?

We have not had a real birthday in 2 years. I decided to get her a few things. Here is the list of things I got her for Christmas and what I will give her on her birthday. Tell me what you think: Christmas Presents from Friends and Family and me: Her Grandma gave her a IPod Classic, her grandmother actually gave IPod Classics to all of her Grandchildren with a $20.00 I Tunes gift card. She also gave the kids, a IDog and accessories for it. Grandmother: Her other Grandmother took her to the mall before Christmas Eve and let her make her own bear at build a bear workshop, her Grandmother said that was her only gift.. She surprised her on Christmas with a new American Girl Doll! (Her 10th one!) Grandfather: Her Grandfather went all out and bought her making kits, tie dying kits, you name it. He got her like 10 boxes and it had 3 per box. Grandfather: He gave her plenty of gift cards, money and a wallet. He surprised her with clothing and blankets too. Aunt: Her Aunt gave her a makeup kit. Lip Liner, Eye Liner, Eye Shadow, Cover Up, Lip Stick, Lip Gloss, Blush, you name it! It had different colors too... Uncle: Her Uncle gave her a new pair of Converse and Crocs. Aunt: Her Aunt gave her a Winter Wardrobe before winter, as one of her gifts, and for Christmas she gave her a board game and Uggs. Uncle: Her Uncle gave her different little things. He gave her candy too and a cake maker. Sisters and Brothers: He sisters and brothers put their money together to give her a new toys. You name it. Parents: We gave her toys, roller blades, and a scooter. We also gave her sleds and snowboards, but we gave it to her before Christmas because of the big snow storm. For all her siblings and her, we bought a Wii with like 30 games. Santa: Santa got her a few toys, a new oboe, a $100 dollar gift card to the mall, little things, school supplies, duct tape (different colors) board games, chalk, art set, jewerly maker, cosmetic maker, and a labtop. We also had new dvd's and video games. Here is her birthday list of things we already planned out, Her family calls in saying what they are going to get her, we give them money to buy it. They usually buy expensive things. Here is the list. The Grandmothers (4 because my parents are divorced and my husbands parents are divorced) are going to give her a Summer Camp Application to Horse Back Riding Camp. The Grandfathers (4) are going to give her a new pair of converse, a new pair of crocs, a new pair of uggs and some clothing for her. A new wardrobe. The Aunts (6) are going to give her a DSI. She got a nintendo from them last year, with like 25 games and she is going to get a DSI and 10 new games. She will have like 60 games now! The Uncles (6) are going to give her a new bike. Last year they split into 3 uncles per gift. One gift was a surf board, another was a dirt bike. Everyone in our family has ATV's, dirtbikes and surfboards, so... They also are giving her fun things for the beach, since we are going to Hawaii this summer from June 20th to August 10th. Her Horse Back Riding Camp is June 10th to June 15th and August 10th to August 15th. Brothers and Sisters (3) They are going to give her toys, and gift cards. They are also giving her art sets. Mom: I am giving her a new puppy. She has a lot of pets. We have fish, goats, pigs, sheep, donkeys, horses, chickens, cats, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, bunnies and we are missing a dog. Her siblings requested some of those animals and we raise them together. We also have small animals like frogs and hermit crabs. We run a family farm so we have to have all of the barn animals and her siblings requested small animals and cats. We are getting a parrot/finch/dove for our farm for a Valentines Day present. She always wanted a dog. Last week I found a cute, small puppy that was 1 week and she is ready on the day before her birthday. We adopted it 2 days ago. That is her surprise. We are also throwing a surprise party for family and another for friends :) Dad: Her dad is giving her a makeover to her room. He is painting her room and getting new furniture. He is also giving her a new television in her room with tivo and cable and a dvd player. We have family friends who are sending her little computer games, things like that. She is also recieving a expensive piggy bank... PLEASE DONT CALL HER SPOILED, WE DO THIS TO EVERYONE. EVERYONE LOVES HER AND WE LOVE THEM. SHE IS LIVING THE LIFE. more

Voting Question: 13th Birthday Party Ideas and Birthday Gift Ideas?

Hello! I am turning 13 on March 30 and I have no idea what I am going to do for my birthday! I kind of want it to be easy and at my house, inside preferably, with no more than 15 people. I was thinking about like a Guitar Hero Party and have everyone wear a rock star outfit and bring a Guitar Hero Guitar if they wanted to use their own, and then have a huge tournament and stuff. I want some other ideas though too because I don't know if people would like that or not. If you have any ideas that would be great! I like video games, but I'm also a girly girl. I am looking for themes, ideas, goody bags to hand out, cakes...all of the details! Thanks! Ok, and I have another question too! 2 of my friends are having a birthday party next weekend and so I'm going to both, but I have no idea what to get them. One of the parties is for this girl that I know pretty well, but probably don't want to spend more than $30 on, and the other is a really good friend who is probably more like $45ish. I am planning on making a CD for the first one, and a Taylor Lautner poster for the other because she loves him, but I really need to buy them something, so if you have any birthday gift suggestions, I would really appreciate it! So one of them loves Twilight, Taylor Lautner, dogs, macs, purple eye liner, actually all eye makeup, FaceBook... did I mention dogs? She loves them...oh and she loves her phone too...the other one likes music, writing poems, straightening her hair, and tennis, I think. So any suggestions on what I could make her/buy her? Thanks I really appreciate it! more

Resolved Question: How can I get over my hate for men because of a bad past?

I've had the WORST past when men, To me they are all EVIL, Cold hearted, Selfish And get away with everything. They also THINK that they own women and women should give up their life for them. They do nothing, They don't give birth yet women and their children take hes last name, They cheat, They try to think all women are wh*res. All rapists, Child molesters, Wife beaters, Gang members are men (Well about 90% +) Not only that I've also had the worst experiences with them. One time when I was younger I was staying over night at my aunts house because it was my parents anniversary and I went downstairs to see my aunt with my 2 cousins because we was scared and her husband had a knife to her throat!!!!!!!!!!! And one time when I was at my friends house after school and we went to put things in the her basement and her step dad had tied her mother up, Put petrol around her and lit a fire. Thankfully she survived. He also raped a child so hes in prison now. Last month my dad was so mad at my brother for not doing hes homework that he set the house on fire, I was in bed so I didn't see. And hes always shouting at me and moaning about anything and making me cry. And my moms best friend came to our house the other day and her husband didn't know she went out so he came over with 2 big dogs and Tried to knock down our door. My dad had to stop him. And another time when she was at a party he came over, Interrupted the party and started beating her in front of everyone! And the other day it was my aunts birthday and we were at a restaurant and she was blowing out the candles to her cake and these 3 drunk guys said to her "You fat sl*t, I bet all you want is the cake!" (she is overweight but stilll!!!!! we didn't even know them) I was always bullied by boys in school. This boy would always hit me and call me names for no reason!!!!! And my aunt who has 5 sons was crying to me saying "When I was younger I always wanted sons but I would do anything for God to have given me 5 daughters" All of her sons sell drugs and beat their girlfriends. Not only 1 of her sons do, All 5 of them do. Her and one of her sons had an argument because he got a girl pregnant and because he was mad, When she went out, He went into her house, Got every family picture she has and set them on fire! And one day my aunt woke up and her husband wrote a note telling her hes moved in with his new girlfriend and he never wants to see her or their 2 kids again (hes daughter who is 13 and hes son who is 17) How could you throw all that away after all those years?! I don't respect men because of this. Please help me not hate them soooooo much. What can I do? Do you blame me for hating them when I have these experiences. They were just half of my experiences) I don't even like male kids because of this and if I had a son I would probably put it up for adoptionMax: Your a f*cking C*NT. Just another guy. Sad bastard, Just because you got cheated on! hahahahahaha, Men cheat wayy more! more

Resolved Question: Do not like my life, what should I do?

I am a dog, my job is a household pet. I lead such a luxurious life that you might have thought I was the Shah of Persia in disguise. I sleep on a silk pillow; I go by car to the Hairdresser’s twice a week to be shampooed; I have cream for every meal and sometimes oysters, and I possess four overcoats with checks and stripes in different colours. My ordinary days are filled with the kind of things most people have only on birthdays. And when I myself have a birthday I have two candles on my cake for every year, instead of only one. I even have two pairs of small leather boots so that I can go out in the Park wet or fine. I respect my human, because she has been so good to me ever since I was a puppy, even if she does kiss me rather too often. But I am bored to distraction. I would have given anything for a nice piece of raw, red meat, instead of the usual breast of chicken or scrambled eggs with asparagus. In my secret, innermost heart, I long to be a common dog. I never pass my pedigree (which hangs on the wall in the drawing room) without a shudder of shame. And I wish I've never had a father, nor a grandfather, nor a great-grandfather. My desire is to be a common dog. I tried to make friends with common dogs, but my human shooed them away. What should I do? more

Resolved Question: Would you be mad if your boyfriend did this on your birthday?

Here is the deal, on my birthday I assumed my boyfriend and I would spend the day together. But he said that he had a surprise for me, and he needed to leave for a couple hours. I told him I didn't want any surprises I just wanted to spend the day together but he really insisted he had to do his surprise. I said ok, and let him go to do his "surprise". Three hours later he still wasn't back. I started to get annoyed so I texted him and he said he was on his way. When he got back, he handed me flowers, sat down on the couch, and turned on the football game. That was my surprise - flowers. They were very pretty exotic flowers, but they were from a store down the street, not 3 hours away. When I asked him what took him 3 hours he said "Well, I got the flowers, then I saw my dad, then I went to look at some real estate, then I stopped for a coffee..." He pretended like he didn't understand why I was mad and said that I was wrong to yell at him just because I didn't like the gift he chose (which is not what I was mad about.) Not only that, but then he told me that I don't really have a right to be upset because I ruined his birthday too and he didn't like any of my gifts, but he was too polite to say anything. Do you want to know what happened on his birthday??? I bought him $2000 worth of items from his favorite website, and then I made him a "Cake Boss" style cake that looked like a mini football field. I had to drive 40 min to the specialty store that carries the special ingredients I needed to make the cake, and it took me an entire day to make it. Then I took him out to dinner at his favorite restaurant and had all of his friends there at the table waiting for us when we arrived. BUT....the night before his birthday the dog peed on the floor and he lost his mind and and screamed and yelled at me (as though I had got her to pee on purpose) for most of the night. His birthday was the day after that, but now suddenly his whole birthday was horrible because the dog peed on the floor the day before. WTF?! Oh yeah, and suddenly he hated all his presents too. So, not only did he not care to do anything for my birthday, but apparently all the time, effort, creativity, and money I put into his birthday suddenly means nothing to him. He insists that he did nothing wrong. I'm just a drama queen that doesn't appreciate flowers. Would you be really angry if this happened to you? Would you break up with a guy over this? Would you take this as a real sign that the guy doesn't love you? Btw, he is 32. It's not like he's a 20 year old who will grow up one day.Yeah I kicked him out. He's been sleeping in a hotel. Just a minute ago he started sending me text messages saying how sorry he is. He said he knew that what he did was wrong but he didn't think I would get so upset.... So he doesn't care to hurt me as long as I cause a big fight over it? I don't think I believe him. How can he suddenly admit he was wrong after defending himself so strongly and accusing me of being the one who is wrong?? more

Resolved Question: Furious with my mother! Should I forgive her? What should I say? (Dog related)?

Okay so my mother is not the best pet owner. Her and her boyfriend got a black lab/doberman mix awhile back. Well ever since they got the dog she has not taken once bit of advice from me and has not trained nor exercised the dog in the correct manner. Well just a few months ago her boyfriend was diagnosed with a serious form of cancer. They have been going through a lot lately and she decided that it wasn't the best idea to have a young dog so she wanted to re-home it. I told her I would help her find a home for it, but she never put in the effort of telling me what to put on the ad etc. Well just last week the neighbors called animal control on them and said that the dog was on a short leash tied up. The pound came out to see what was going on and her moronic boyfriend told them to just take the dog! Now my mother is not going to go get it. The dog is just a plain black dog so basically it wont get adopted. They pretty much just condemned the poor thing to death due to there ignorance. Now my question, as a dog lover how do I handle this? In one hand she is my mother and has given me life and in another she has mistreated her own dog and shows she is 100% irresponsible. I am very upset with her and I didn't even call her on her birthday. She called my dad and asked if I was mad at her and I told him YES! I know they are going through a hard time right now, but its not an excuse to leave the dog outside on a short chain and then come and have the pound pick it up. My mother is a really bad alcoholic as well. She really hasn't been there for her kids much. This just put the icing on the cake for me and her! What should I do? If she calls what should I say? How should I deal with this? How would you? Thanks for reading! Sorry I know its long.I don't live with her. I have my own house and live with my boyfriend and our 2 dogs. She never socailized the dog so it wont get along with my bullies and there would be no where for me to put it. more

Resolved Question: Cake size question. I ordered a 1/4 sheet cake for my daughters second birthday for 11 adults and 5 kids?

Is that a good size. The bakery people said that a 1/4 sheet is enough for 26 people if cut into 2x2 inch pieces. I am worried that it isn't going to be enough and maybe I should order a 1/2 sheet? I plan on BBQing hot dogs and hamburgers and having salads and deviled eggs too. more

Voting Question: EMERGENCY HELP! Being kicked out/limited income/dogs.?

I live with my grandmother and my fiancee. We have been living together for about a year. We moved in to take care of my grandma because she was sick. Everything was fine. We buy the groceries, do the yardwork/gardening, and all house work/chores. Including cooking. We bring her drinks and food and pay our shares. Well, on the eve of my birthday I was rather depressed (the 18th of Jan) - my fiancee tried to cheer me up but I started to talk to him about what was bothering me. My grandmother came out and started to butt into our conversation. My fiancee told her it was none of her business and to please leave. She got furious and said some nasty things, then retired to her bedroom. I went to bed feeling better, because my fiancee cheered me up. This was the first time that I didn't check on my grandma after her usual and routine fit throwing. I woke up on the 19th (My Birthday) at around 8am. I wasn’t feeling good, but my fiancee told me my grandmother was calling my name. I went to see what she wanted and she told me she set my “gifts” on the table. (A child's crown and a disney princess headband. I am in my TWENTIES. And a Bday Card.) I said thanks and she hugged me. She went into her room. So, I went to go lay back down because I was so tired. I left the "gifts" on the table. My fiancee asked if he could get me anything. I asked if he could make me some breakfast and bring me the stuff my grandma had got me from the table. He did. I was in the middle of eating my breakfast when my grandmother came to the door screaming at me “THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR BIRTHDAY WITH ME!!!” I was really confused and I yelled to her “Wait, I just woke up!” I finished my breakfast and went to get up, and I overheard my grandmother on the phone. She was lying, and she said my fiancee had brought her gifts in the other room and that both I and he started insulting her verbally to some unknown friend. Well, because that was a total lie. My fiancee got mad and asked her through her door “Why do you have to lie to make yourself look better. It’s her Birthday, stop it!” At which point she lost it, went nuts and charged both of us. She physically started attacking my fiancee claiming she hated him and wanted to kill him, then threatened to stab him to death with a knife when he has been nothing but good to her, even buys her gifts weekly and has gone to the hospital with her when no one else could. I told her to stop and tried to pull her off of him. She started beating me and then she started saying the most awful things she possibly could. My fiancee asked her what the heck was wrong with her and if she was on drugs and told her to calm down but she just kept hitting him in the face. I got hysterical and called the police. She looked at me, looked at my fiancee, and then leaped onto the floor, then looked at me and said “YOU KICKED ME TO THE GROUND OHHH YOU KICKED ME.” I was really like…wtf. Nobody had touched her. Then...She started screaming for her abusive ex husband (Who lives next door and is divorcing her, who in the past has drained her bank accounts and is the reason she had my fiancee and I move in because she ‘hated’ him so much and claimed her broke her ribs intentionally.) She started making up lies. The police got there and basically told us they can’t do anything to protect us and we need to move out. But it's civil and needs to go to court. Neither of us can drive. We’re both young. I have 2 dogs which mean the absolute world to me, I would die without them. I have nowhere to go that I can find that will accept my animals that we can afford. Also, the icing on the cake is I hadn’t had one slice of my birthday cake and my grandmother ate the whole thing as well as the extra box of cookies my fiance bought to make the cake with. Everywhere in the Orange County La Habra area is expensive, and my fiancee walks to work from our home here everyday. If we move he probably will lose his job. I don’t know if she can evict us or not, we’re in a mobile home park. Are the laws different here or do we still get 30 days? Also, she has been harassing and threatening us to the point we cant even use the bathroom and are having to go in bottles. PLEASE someone help me. Can I get a restraining order to remove her from the property until we move out? What can I do?I also have epilepsy and I'm applying for disability. My forms are arriving at this house. I wondered if I got pregnant as trashy as it sounds if I can be evicted or not still. And because I'm not married, what can happen? Does family make a difference that we're related or would she have to treat me like a regular tenant? We spent all of our money on utilities and food and don't have receipts, eitherI know, my grandfather has dementia, she does not have it. She's been like this since I was little. She even kicked me out when I was 11. I thought she changed and I'm a good person, I wanted to help her out. She goes from hating one person to the next frequently. She has delusions of grandeur and a superiority complex. She sees a doctor regularly, even the nurses there have told me she lies constantly and pretends she has fallen terribly ill to something to get attention. She's just... mean. I guess. I dont know. My whole family is dysfunctional. I need to break away from it, but this is the first time I was actually starting to feel safe. To have it ripped away when we don't make hardly any income and I'm suffering epilepsy/seizures is very hard. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I also tried apologizing to her, just to keep the peace. That I didnt want to end our relationship or leave anything on bad terms, but she ignored me. And yeah. She's just mean.thanks for your help. the thing that bugs me is now shes kind of trying to attack me and getting back with her ex husband, and he lives next door with his father as well. so, were totally ganged up on. her husband has dementia though, and the father in law is 80. so, honestly, i think they all need to be locked up. more

Resolved Question: How much should a 2 year old birthday party cost?

I am starting to make a budget for my daughters 2 year old birthday party that is about 3 months away. Last year, we spent about $450 for a Sesame Street themed party and that included: -Elmo appearance -Invitations, tableware, decor, etc -Food, cake and drinks -Birthday toys There were about 20 adults and 20 kids. Personally, I don't think this was over the top but I am sure it is to some people. It was her first birthday and we were so excited on her behalf and ours for making it through the first year without any major incidents! Now I am starting to plan her 2nd party, and going to keep the Sesame Street theme to recycle on some decorations and leftover tableware. We are going to invite about the same amount of people. I want to either rent or buy a bounce house. My daughter loves bounce houses and slides. Also, we bought the elmo costume last year so Elmo will be coming back for a visit this year (at no additional cost). She won't be getting any other toys if I buy a bounce house. Should I buy or rent a bounce house? What is a workable budget for that amount of people? We will more than likely grill hamburger and hot dogs, have a few salads, etc. and have cupcakes and ice cream. No offense, but I really dislike when people say she won't remember it. We will remember it and have pictures and stories to tell her. Plus the entire block is very close and we invite some of them over as well. We each have co-workers and family we invite. Keeping it limited for us to 40 people is small. Based on our needs, what is a good budget? Especially since we are looking to buy or rent a bounce house?I love the idea of Disneyland! We had thought about doing that in a couple of years for her birthday, instead of a party. Seems like people are getting the wrong idea. My daughter only gets presents 2 times a year, Christmas and birthday. And she doesn't get to see family anymore often than that because we don't live close enough to have them over like that. Birthday's are a very special occasion for us. more

Resolved Question: My dog is spiteful, Help please!!?

My family owns a girl dog named Dakota. She is trained to go to the bathroom on paper but she doesn't go outside. She chews up almost everything. We know she is spiteful from many occasions. Such as when we left to see Christmas lights instead of eating the cookies that were accidentally left on the table where she could reach them she decided to eat my sisters birthday cakes that were still in the box, in a shopping bag, in the middle of a much higher table. Or when instead of chewing something that was left it she went into our new Wii sports bag and chewed on the steering wheel that came with it. We may have to get rid of her for this reason and I really don't want to so please help! more

Resolved Question: Why did my Yellow Lab die?

Okay, so a few months ago in the summer, my 12 year old Yellow Lab died. I didn't get to see much of her symptoms, because I was in Seattle with my best friend and her mom, and I didn't know she was dying until I came home. My parents didn't tell me cause they didn't want to ruin my trip. The vet wasnt sure, but he said it was probably heart faliure. Anyways, She was always sort of chubby, and sort of small for a yellow lab, but she was healthy. We spoiled her a lot, and two years before she had gotten into sugarfree gum from my stupid cousin laying it around everywhere, and it paralyzed and almost killed her. Fortunatly, she lived and there wasnt any sign that it had occured. Also, she had gotten spayed and a fatty tumor she'd been living with for three years removed a few months before her death. Now, getting to the point, she had gotten sick three days before I came home. She couldn't walk, and my dad had to take her out and hold her for her to go to the bathroom. She stopped eating a day later, and she wouldn't eat anything, not even the vanilla ice cream they tried to get her. (We only gave her a spoonfull on very rare occasions.) or her left over birthday cake (My parents always gave her a peice of vanilla cake on her birthday.) and my parents new she was going to die. They kept her alive long enough for me to say goodbye, and when I saw her she was laying in her own throw up and pee, and she didn't reconigze me. Its been bothering me ever since she died. I really need to know, was it heart faliure that killed her? Could there have been anything that I could have done to prevent it? I really, really miss her. She was my first dog I ever had, and I've had her all my life. I never want this to happen again. Please tell me. ): P.s. I know, giving her vanilla icecream and cake sounds crazy, but our dogs are a part of my family. We loved her very, very much, and we took her to the vet a lot for check ups. She was really special to us, and I know to a lot of you spoiling her like that sounds stupid and crazy, but if you do feel like that, then you can't possibly understand how important this is to me. ): Please help. (SORRY IT WAS SO LONG. x~x)Thanks guys. ): That kind of helped. She was my best friend, and It feels like she just died a few days ago. It really helps to know that I guess I couldn't have stopped it. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: Turning Two in a month. I'm thinking Doggy theme. He loves dogs. Any ideas?

I am inspired by teaching him how to eat popcorn with out hands the other day. I think all the kids could have dog bowls for plates... And none of them are allowed to use their hands while eating cake! Any other ideas to make this birthday party awesome?Ha! Yes I am serious. I stuck my tongue out and ate from a popcorn bowl and then he did it too. He thought it was funny. I should be doing something else goes tut tut, She is a friend with Aslan, She passes me a smartie, I begin to feel better, We talk about clothes, I tell her my garments are all a piece of crap, Oh well she says: “You get what you pay for,” That is surely a fact. Resolved Question: How does this story sound? COPYRIGHTED. copying is illegal. >:( ?

I wrote this story therefore it has a copyright. IS COPYRIGHTED i have COPYRIGHTS Journey (Based on a true story) This is a story about a young boy, Carter, who works in fields and in farms in a big, unnoticed town. Carter is made to take care of four dogs for a week, the people who care for the dogs don't do a very good job! Carter bonded with every dog and one day he takes his favorite dog, Emphysie, out and he runs away. This is a little story about Carter and Emphysie's long journey. Hi, My name's Carter. I live in Ginmera, a big town that stands, unoticed, next to Ohio. It's not on the map, though. I also live near multiple farms, so I'm very used to working. This is a good thing because one day Wendelle came over. He was asking my grandfather if I may come to care for his dogs for the next seven days. When grandfather saw that I was about to object he replied that him and I would talk about it, so they walked away. Wendelle and his wife, Janitora, aren't the nice kind of people, they can be cruel, but most of the time they're just plain...Dirty. Sometimes it looks like Wendelle hasn't showered for weeks, and it smells like it, too. Me and my grandfather, Sam, sat down in our comfy warm livingroom. Sam sat in his big red 'master' chair. I sat on the long orange sofa. The walls were a deep orangish color and the carpet was a dark red. It wasn't very new or stylish, but nither was my grandfather. "So, Wendelle's not the best smelling and Janitora's not...Well, she's a bit... She doesn't have great self-control-" I jumped to my feet, "What, Self-control?" I exclaimed,"Yeah, right. She has no self-control what so ever and she's crazy!" Sam jumped to his feet also, and he raised his voice, "You will not speak such words in my house!" He gestured towards the house, the walls ceiling and floors. I sat back down and looked down shamefully. Grandfather had taught me better than this. I apologized but kept my head down. What he said really hurt, he meant that if I were to disobey his rules while he was already angry, or back talk even more then (he felt) I already had, then he'd kick me out. Grandfather's wife had pasted away giving birth to my mother, and my mother had gotten killed by one of those dumb drunk drivers when I was 2 years old. Then one my 5th birthday my father went out to run one more errand before celebrating my birthday. I knew that he was buying me 'lots more presents than I had already, and a cake, but I kept quiet and pretended to cry and act as if I had no clue where he was going. I waited 2 1/2 hours... I turned on the TV and sat in my bean-bag-chair with my favorite teddybear. At the 3rd hour, finally, someone knocked. I ran to the door and was terrified because there, standing at my fathers door, was a big policeman. His skin was almost as dark as night and he had a lot of muscles! It looked as if the police uniform barely fit, his muscles were beginning to bulge and tear the uniform. I shiver at even the memory. This big policeman reached down and I instantly began running and crying and screaming at the top of my lungs. I hid in the attic and after what felt like another 3 hours the policeman and a friend of his, another policeman-but smaller, found me. The big policeman introduced himself as Otrop and the skinny tan policeman introduced himself as Porto. Creepy, I thought. They didn't need to explain the backwards names, they were brothers-anyone could and (I think) would've discovered that by now-and I assume their mother expected twins. I didn't like how Otrop looked, big and dangerous. When I saw the guns they both had at their hip I wiggled further into the small cubby in the attic that I was hiding in. "Don't worry." They both reassured me, at the same time (which scared me even more). At about this moment I was ready to pee myself! Finally they explained that my father had gotten killed at the bank 2 hours and thirty minutes ago. Father would never leave me home for more than an hour. I felt some kind of bad suspision an hour after he left but tried to just ignore and deny it. I began crying, even more then ever, and the skinny one, Porto, asked if I knew any other relatives that I could live with. I shook my head, but it wasn't to say that I didn't have anyone I could live with because I had grandfather Sam, I was just trying to deny the fact that my daddy really was dead. Dead... Dead... He would never come back, ever. Just like mother. Now I was all alone. I never even met my grandfather, so I felt more alone then ever. I almost break into tears everytime I even think about it. After about 2 minutes of walking around the house, searching the fridge, and talking on their cellphones, they finally stopped and came back to me. I was sitting on the couch, head in my hands. I felt more grown up than before I accepted this. I cried harder because I had finally accepted that he was gone, and that made me feel more mature. Finally, about 2:00 AM the Social Worker finSocial Worker finally got here. I was already entered into the system, that's what took so long. They made me go to a fosterhome with strangers until two weeks later, when my grandfather had called in to take me home.Note that I am NOT a male and this did NOT really happen (to me or anyone I know). I just made this up. Copurighted! I plan on making this into a full story and publishing it (soon) ^_^ On a scale of 1-10, 1 worst 10 best, how does this story sound? is it something you would want to read? is it something you WOULD read? How well is it for a 13 year old? THANKS ^_^It's not a HUGE town its a big TOWN, as in just like a little neighboorhood so shut up about that part. -_-' dont b inmaturei need SERIOUS answers people not ur dum comments especially ones (like the 1st to answer tis question) that dont even answer or that hav NOTHING to do w/ this question.PS IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE A NEGATIVE COMMENT (which I don't mind if you do) THEN MAKE IT POLITE AND DON'T SOUND NASTY!!!!!!This is back in, like... the year 2000.....- Anyway- Thanks all answers. ^_^PLEASE be EXTREMELY specific!!psss keep in mind that, like, middle school children CHILDREN are going to be reading this story, not adults or any sofisticated weirdo so it doesn't really matter about the "Big town" or whatever. Keep in mind to think like a 15 year old when you read this, Would a NORMAL 15 year old care about punctionation or big or small words? not really..... more

Okay, odd question, but hey... my dog is turning 9 TODAY (so I need answers fast) and I want to make her a nice birthday cake. I know what cake I'm going to use, but is says to puree up cottage cheese as frosting, and I was wondering if anyone had any better ideas for a frosting?
