I watched that special on MTV last night and I gotta say I feel sorry for her. She seems very lonely and sad. Surrounded by all them people and to still feel lonely and vulnerable must be pretty scary. I don't think she is all there I think she is a couple fries short of a happy meal. Its like she just snapped and is not all there anymore. I must say she does look so much better now, she is looking fit and she looks hot again,, she seems to have a little twinkle in her eye again and that's something I can say I missed seeing, You know she almost reminds me of Marilyn Monroe,, very sad and lonely surrounded by hundreds of poeple only wanting to take advantage. I really hope she is ok,, she is an Icon and has done so much at such a young age. I hope she has learned from her experiences and pulls it together and comes back stronger than ever. Either ever in history or right now. I think ever- maybe Elvis. But Britney Spears is right up there. At least in America. She is international and people in general are intrigued by everything she ever does whether it be mundane, spectacular or a screwup people NEED to know. So we all know by now that most of the stories u hear about celebrities have been cleverly cooked up by their peeps to help boost a movie coming out,album sales,or over all popularity. britney started out as a little pop icon with her high school "im-still-a-virgin" image,dated JT (and shoo-wow,his career went on the up). she decides she needs a change of image,they have a nasty media break up and JT claims he slept with her. her music gets raunchier, she gets way hotter, but still cant shake the teeny bopper fans,and disapproving public ("she used to be so sweet")..not such a great move in the end. Then comes the las vegas marriage,the trailer trash boyfriend..probably did go off the rails for a while there, enjoys her im-trashy-and-proud image for a good couple of minutes,then decides it overs between them and everyone thinks yipee,shes normal again. now what image does she have to portray?! oh sh!t,no ones gonna buy the pop princess one now,she went sexy and turned into a tramp,now what?! well lets give her a good year or two of seriously dramatic publicity stunts,give the media an absolute field day or 5000,and everyones happy. popularity soars back up again as everyone has a soft spot for the under dog,so the public innocently fall for it and become fellow puppets for a media driven consumer market called pop music.everyones got their fingers crossed for brit,YAY shes back to normal!!wait wait...no...shes back down. now we'r all SERIOUSLY on the edge,biting our nails and hoping for the best...really wanting this time to be different. hey,her parents jump on the bandwagon,and KABOOM a track is realsed towards the end of this frenzy..we'r all expecting way less than what we hear,and with the standard being so low,well its more than anyone expected!and with that,she releases some pretty good tracks ...womanizer,anyone?what girl doesnt want a sing-along song like that!i love it myself. then as the cherry on top of a very strategically and cleverly baked cake,she wins a few awards for her record-breaking comeback at the 2008 ema's. now,if that isnt one hell of an achievement for someone..i just dont know what is!! and please dont get me wrong,i personally love the chick myself. more

I am currently taking a great elective class called American History Post WWII We are currently doing the 1950's so we are looking at lives of people such as: James Dean Marylin Monroe Elvis Presley My teacher just gave us an assignment asking a great question but very hard to answer so I figured I'd ask for other opinions. In your opinion, who is the James dean of your generation, the Marylin Monroe of your generation, and the Elvis Presley of your generation? My generation is from 2000-present and I came up with a few people but I'm not sure they really amount to the stature of the 1950's legends. I currenty have either Leo DiCapprio and Heath Ledger (maybe taking Ledger off bc he is Ausrtralian not American) for James Dean. For Marylin it is tough maybe Pam Anderson or Britney Spears? And for Elvis maybe Eminem? If your generation and my generation and by generation I mean your youth is not the same as mine please still reply I am still interested in what you have to say. Please people think about this, I am talking about people that are being talked about as some of the biggest stars ever. These people are being talked about 50 years later and I'm sure for 100s of years to come. Now I'm not too sure Disney stars should be on this list. Right now I have some words, change, strength, pride, hope, courage, perseverance, determination, capitalism, fantasy... Resolved Question: Why is it that the Disney Channel does not have African American influences for our Black children?

Seems like every succesful Disney Channel Icon are caucasians. From the beginning, starting with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera to Todays Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tidsdale, Selena, Vannessa Hudgens and the list goes on and on. I am an African american mother and I have a very beautiful talented daughter interested in one day becoming the black version of Miley Cyrus. I encourage her to fulfill her dreams and make it a reality one day and I have nothing but good things to say to my daughter because I do not want to make her feel inferior to caucasians if I point out to her how I really feel about the Disney Channel. I rather keep the reality of how I feel about her dreams as one day being part of the Disney Channel Family to myself, but deep inside I feel that Disney does not seem to be interested in our kind based on what I see on their Shows. They have the power to make any girl famous and succesful, pretty much an idol, but time after time they chose a caucasian girl never an African American. There are rarely Blacks in their shows and those in the shows are not the main characters. I know Raven became succesful but she's half white and so did Corbin Bleu and he is also half white, nothing against interracial children it's just that I am talking about pure black girls that can be an inspiration to other black girls. They already don't have much to look up to, if they watch BET all they will see is women half naked dancing sexually explicit, cursing and fighting over a man or claiming to want a man with money etc. If they watch MTV all she will see is reality shows with peple drinking, cursing and fighting. On VH1 she will see the same including Tiffany (New York, from I Love New York) new reality show and we all know she is someone we do not want our black daughters to look up to, God forbids! I mean, is so bad that even Black girls like my daughter are looking up to Miley Cyrus and that's because who else is there for her to look up to on the Disney Channel when that is the hottest most popular T.V. station for pre-teens and teenagers regardless of their race. Is there any way I can get this message across to the Disney Channel? and any way I can help get my daughter noticed by Disney Channel Reps. more

I think our society tells women to be both sexual and virginal at the same time. Dress sexy but don't have sex. Look at how Britney Spears was packaged. She was, at first, going to be a virgin until married, yet at the same time she was supposed to dress sexy and be a sexual icon. Her "people" who told her what to dress and how to behave gave her two contradictory roles, which I think has led to her downfall. How can she be both sexy and innocent? women in most ads are very sexy in appearance, and things are marketed to improve your looks and attraction to the other sex. At the same time, women are looked down on when they are being sexual. I see many women going out in their little outfits talking down on others who are sexually active. Does anyone else think our culture is sending contradictory messages to today's youth, and how do you think this has effected women today? more

my friend once told me that Kelly clarkson was a gay icon but i didnt really know why. A lot of people say that madonna, cher , janet jackson and britney spears are gay icons, but why? is it just because gay people like their type of music? All her albums are based around the idea of loving (knowing) everyone and trying to help each other out.
