I know this is really long, but please, please help. I'm worried that my dream was a vision that will soon come to pass. It all started when I woke up during my dream. I got up from my bed and headed out of the bedroom, into the hallway. I realized that I forgot to put on pants, so I turned around to return to the dresser within my bedroom. But, the doorway behind me had vanished. Immediately I felt cold and trapped. I turned back around to see that the hallway had become a series of dark and twisting caverns each with blood red light coming from the very ends. I could hear the sound of faint drums coming from one of the passages so I decided to follow where it led. As I approached the light the drums revealed themselves to be dance techno rave music. And, I could hear sounds similar to those produced by a whale coming from up ahead. I quickened my pace and was eventually at the mouth of the tunnel. I entered into a large subterranean cavern illuminated by stage-lights and fire. A second layer was dug beneath where I stood, and I gazed down upon the masses huddled within. Glow-sticks were being waved in steady motion with the rhythm of the drums, and frequently pointed to a large stage made of wrought iron and the skeletons of hundreds of millions of men. At the center of the stage, Britney sat on a thrown composed entirely of the blood of little children, singing her latest damnable single. "Well, that explains the whale sounds", I thought to myself. I turned my attention once again to the crowd to see before my eyes thirty million nude female bodies. Just then, to my left, appeared a figure covered from head to toe in a dark gray cloak. Smoke rose and swell from the cuffs and hood of the figure's attire, and two perfectly spherical balls of fire stood where eyes should have been. "Where am I," I asked. "You. Well, you are in Hell," the hooded stranger replied. "It doesn't seem that bad," I told the eerie figure. "In fact, I could get used to all of these lovely naked ladies." "Allow me to expose the true horror," the voice returned, raising his arm toward the crowd below us. At that moment, the room was split into two distinct groups. On the left stood the nude female forms, and on the right stood masculine figures adorned in black leather. "I don't see the problem," I told the spirit. "Have a look through my eyes," they replied. The figure reached into the hood of the cloak pulling the eyes of fire from within. Slowly and carefully the smokey arms reached toward my face. The voice then spake, "Have another look." In my horror I saw that the nude female forms were all fifteen year old girls wearing purity rings and the only women my own age were vehement feminazi, vegan lesbians. The crowd once again became huddled and began acting out the lyrics to Butterflies by Owl City through interpretive dance. Just then I heard the terrifying screech of a harpy, and turned to see that I had been spotted by Britney. She pointed eagerly in my direction. I began running back through the corridor. I soon entered into a room that resembled very much my own living room. "At peace," I thought, "I'm finally at peace." I wasted no time taking to my usual spot on the sofa, and quickly turned on the television. In my horror I found that every channel was now owned by the Disney Corporation. The news featured old members of the Mickey Mouse club as anchors, and the headlines were comprised of the clothing worn by Paris Hilton, and the drunken antics of Lindsay Lohan. I desperately searched and searched, but not a single worthwhile program could be found. I then frantically attempted to turn the television off, but my efforts were in vain. When I finally managed to get the screen to go black, I awoke terrified in a pool of my own sweat. So did I have a prophetic vision, or is that just what I get for wakin' up in Vegas? more

Resolved Question: How come these teen stars of today stay in the limelight for so long?

When I was a kid, the teen stars I liked were just kind of flashes in the pan i.e. Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, New kids on the block.. They weren't in the freakin' MAIN news for years and years like the ones of today are. Why is this? Why does the media follow teen stars like this now? It's weird that we all know about Miley Cyrus's personal life! and even Britney Spears ya know, she was the equivalent of what Tiffany was, she came on the seen when I was like 18 and she's STILL talked about 10 years later! Middle part They both hear Bethany's muffled words on their phones. It sounded like she was trying to say “He has a gun”. Shaking, Brianna asked “Who are you and why are you doing this?” In an extremely piercing and bloodcurdling voice, the stranger silently announced “Lets just say my name is Michael. Good bye......For now ...Bonus stolidus puella.....”. The voice sounded unusually familiar. She could not believe that Bethany's predator was someone she thought she knew. Brianna rapidly dropped her phone and told Raymond to turn back to the penthouse. He turned the radio on and a slow depressing song played while Brianna sobbed and tried to hum along to the song throughout the ride home. When Raymond finally escorted her back to the penthouse she ran into her room and laid on her bed not caring if her make-up got smeared or if her hair got frizzy. She didn't even care about Nicole going out with a player that did marijuana. All she cared about now was whether one of her best friends was alive. At Tuesday night, during dinner, her parents, Kenzie and Mark Yale, were acting unusual. They finally started talking after ten minutes of silence. “Honey we have bad news” confessed her father, Mr. Mark Yale. “Bethany's parents, Avery and David were found dead in the Upper West Side yesterday, their bodies were in a dark alley, and recently Bethany's neighbors called the police to tell them she was missing too” gasped her mother, Mrs. Kenzie Yale . Brianna screamed and scared all of the pigeons off her balcony. She couldn't believe that what happened on the phone three days ago was actually reality. The only missing piece in the puzzle now was Bethany's missing dead body. Four days later Brianna's family and many other people including Nicole went to David and Avery Billett's funeral. Nicole was so devastated that she dyed her usual wavy golden blonde hair to a dark shade of brunette and added five inches of extensions just because Bethany stated that the style would look exceptional on her two weeks ago. Also Nicole's green eyes were now covered by dark brown color contacts. Brianna glared at Drew as he walked towards her. Quickly he stated “I know what you did two years ago.” and Brianna's expression went blank as her went back to talk to Nicole. Out of the blue the funeral director began speaking to the crowds of people in the gigantic courtyard. “Dearly beloved and departed we are gathered today in the sight of god to give our last words to Mrs. Avery Billett and Mr. David Billett.....” moaned the old funeral director. Brianna didn't bother to listen anymore. She didn't even want to hear Nicole and her mother's speeches about Mrs. Avery Billett. Afterwards the Billett family will was read at the funeral reception. It stated that if Bethany was not available to take the family's enormous wealth and become CEO of their 5-star hotel chains, then Bethany's closest living relative would get the wealth and the hotel chain. Brianna was in fury. She couldn't believe that Peter, Bethany's callow cousin was going to get the enormous amount of the Billett's money and their hotel chain. Suddenly Peter started talking about his responsibilities and she briskly recognized his voice. It was the voice on the phone. “PETER WAS DAVID AND AVERY'S MURDERER!” shrieked Brianna. Everyone stared at her as if she were moronic. Then Brianna felt unconscious and fainted. Five hours later she woke up in a hospital bed and saw Drew trying to play “Oops I Did It Again” by Britney Spears on Mr. Billett's cherished guitar. “David wanted you to have his favorite guitar? What a big mistake.” stated Brianna in pure hatred. Drew just replied “Yeah it was on the will....” he paused “Two years ago....In California” he paused again and whispered “Was it a boy or a girl?” Frozen in the moment Brianna went blank again. She quietly mumbled “Her name's Jessica. I think she's two years old and seven months now. And she's living with Allison”. “Thanks for ruining nine months of my life” shouted Brianna. She ran out of the hospital room and dialed for Raymond. “Raymond! I know its late, but can you drive me to Nicole's house right now?” questioned Brianna. Raymond was tired but he still managed to utter “Yes Miss Yale”. When Raymond finally stopped at Nicole's penthouse she said “Thanks! Good night Raymond” for the first time. Nicole's doorman, Tibi let her in and then she started crying. “Nicole. There are so many things I haven't told you before....I'm sorry” sympathized Brianna. Both of them hugged each other and Nicole forgave Brianna for insulting Drew. They both fell asleep on Nicole's bedroom floor while thinking about all the complications currently in their lives. more

Personally I think that the magazine Rolling Stone has lost what little merit it had left. It used to be a magazine that focussed on rock music and truly talented bands, nowadays you see Britney Spears gracing the cover. Now I don't even bother flicking through Rolling Stone when I'm at the newsagents, as I know I am only going to be greeted with news of Kanye West's latest single and an interview with Lady GaGa. Now I read music magazines that acknowledge true talent, like Classic Rock and Uncut. Even their lists of greatest album of the year, 100 immortal acts etc are completely misguided. Their lists used to be definitive, but now they are just lists that might as well be compiled by a group of 10 year old girls. I understand that Rolling Stone wants to 'appeal to a diverse range of genres', but all I see this as is a sell-out. I wanted to see what other people think of this popularity vs. work theory. The Mylie reference was a joke. I am sure Maiden's success has nothing to do with Mylie. Take Britney Spears and her kids. I haven't followed the latest news about her, but I remember how tough it was for her ex to get custody of her kids even after she was caught driving drunk, not showing up to court, etc. I think that went on for many months until a judge finally decided to turn custody over to the father. I also have a male friend in the military that in no way would be able to get custody of his kids even if his ex won the Worst Mother of the Year award. Even though he would make a much better parent. I may be wrong, but a RSS feed only give you information from one particular website. I am looking for a facility that does the following:- If say I want all the information on a company , say I.B.M. ..or even a person say Britney Spears. is there a service/software available that literally searches the entire internet for all the lastest breaking information relating to one specific topic/search term and can deliver it to me. Basically, i want to turn on my computer and be able to read all the latest information/news/press releases about a specific topic. At the moment to get the latest changes/info about a specific topic, I have to go to google...put in the topic e.g. I.B.M...put 'last 24 hours' into advanced search..... then read all the results. that's great, but that won't include latest news.....so then i have to go to google news which wont pick up press releases and interesting new articles..... Equally if i subscribe to an RSS feed for 'IBM' on a specialist computing website...only info published by that one computing website will be delivered to me. i want an RSS that will scour ALL websites for latest information about IBM. i need help with revising the second paragraph most. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!! Should Celebrities and Athletes take Responsibility in Being a Role Model? Why are there so many athletes and celebrities these days failing as role models? Should they bear any responsibility at all for being role models to society? After all, they are the people whom we look up to; especially children and young adults. At some point of our lives, (no matter how old) we have had some kind of role model, for most it was a celebrity or sports figure; a role model was anyone appealing. Now the sad thing is in today’s society, we put way too much emphasis on these role models. We manipulate or adopt what we see like clothing, behavior, hairstyles, and actions; the media. In other words, Hollywood sets the norms, and society follows. This is one of the reasons why it is critical that celebrities and athletes need to recognize their impact upon the public. Children are always watching and observing adult behavior partly because adults are the ones who have answers to questions. While parents can control what children are exposed to, they cannot completely shield children from the onslaught of Hollywood trends that flash in front of their eyes: commercials, billboards, movies, and on tv. “I am a role model and if I don’t step up or stand up for the issues that are important to the people, then I take just as much to blame as a 50 cent or a Snoop Dogg.” Rapper KRS-One once said during a telephone interview (McKevie 1). There are those celebrities out there who are willing to take the consequences and responsibility of their actions, and KRS-One is one of the few. As I was growing up, I remember that the major celebrities of that time were people like Britney Spears. I used to idolize Britney Spears like many others, up until the time she started going downhill. Back in the late 90’s, she was famous for her beauty, singing, and personality. But now she is popular for the opposite; to have a laugh out of her because of the sluttyness, drugs, and divorce, etc. When a junior high student was asked what he thought of Spears now, this is what he said: “I used to like Britney Spears when I was younger…I mean, she shaved her head for Pete’s sake. What’s going on with her?” (McKevie 2). So, why is it that the media publicizes more of the negative side of Hollywood? I think it is because in reality, people tend to be more interested and engaged in the Hollywood scandals. Hence, it also makes a lot of money and brings in millions of viewers. For example, the TV show, “TMZ” exposes celebrities and athletes in reality, and shows the ugly side of the famous. When it first aired on the Internet in 2005, it had 120 plus viewers per month, (an additional 9 million compared to “Extra” and “Access Hollywood”) (FOX news 1). more

I was just a teen, and he'd been diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder, an illness akin to schizophrenia that causes mood swings, psychosis and violent outbursts. Our family had just committed him for psychiatric treatment, and I wept, shouting into the air, "I want my brother back." At home, my parents sobbed. But at least we went through this anguish in private. So it's impossible for me to find any entertainment value in the public harassment of Britney Spears, who was released from the psychiatric ward of UCLA Medical Center last week. And as a journalist, I doubt there is news value in it either. Mental illness doesn't always elicit compassion; it's hard to see, so it's hard to understand. Perhaps in the wake of Spears' breakdown, California mental health advocates will lobby to change the state's involuntary commitment laws so that those who are sick get treatment, even if they don't realize how badly they need it. In the meantime, all of us should reflect on the fact that we wouldn't be so cruel to somebody diagnosed with another disease. Would we make a sideshow of someone with a brain tumor? It's easy to blame the paparazzi and celebrity gossip websites, and, granted, they are the worst. TMZ promoted a video of Spears crying with the headline, "Britney Spears on Suicide Watch?" Over a photo of Spears sitting on a curb after her fight with her manager, PerezHilton.com scrawled "Britwreck." But the mainstream media are complicit. After Spears' release (over the objection of her family), A.J. Hammer, host of CNN's "Showbiz Tonight," stumbled over the pronunciation of Spears' supposed medications; the words "Burning Britney Questions!" rolled across the bottom of the screen. "Britney's Mental Illness" was the cover of a recent People magazine. The Daily Telegraph's website featured this headline: "Mad Britney Spears detoxed by doctors," with a link, "See pictures of the drama here." By exploiting Spears' moment of vulnerability, media companies have crossed the line of basic moral decency. To me, this includes Wenner Media, owner of US Weekly and Rolling Stone, which just published an expose of Spears' mental illness, and even Barbara Walters, who recently reported on Spears' mental health issues on "The View." Enough. Time Warner Inc. (parent of CNN, People, AOL and Entertainment Weekly), News Corp. (the Rupert Murdoch firm that owns Fox News and papers around the globe) and others should halt all coverage of Spears until she is healthy. Let's leave Britney and her family alone. Responsible journalists long ago came to the ethical determination not to publish the names of rape victims or to air the most gruesome of terrorist videos. We can do the same here. We can get off this maniacal roller coaster that is Britney Spears coverage to remember one important fact: This is a 27-year-old in a fight for her life. My role model in this debate is photographer Nick Stern, who quit his job Feb. 1 with the Splash news agency because he couldn't stomach shooting the Spears story any longer. "It's not journalism. Sooner or later, someone's going to get killed," he told the Independent in London. "Possibly Britney herself." Even aspiring journalists are making the right call. At Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies, where I'm a journalism professor, senior Erin Delmore walked off the set of a campus TV talk show. "I'm so done with the Britney coverage," she said. "End it." Last week, I wrote to my editor at People and told her that I couldn't continue working as a stringer for the magazine. I'm not being holier than thou. I wasn't always kind to my brother about his illness. I scolded and nagged him. I called him lazy when he didn't make his bed, unmotivated when he didn't get a job and uncaring when he forgot our birthdays. It's taken more than 20 years for me to understand, deep within my soul, that his mental illness is like a brain tumor, or cancer, or diabetes. It is a disease. It has symptoms such as anosognosia, which means that a person doesn't think they have an illness, and flat affect, which saps emotional expressiveness. Right now, there is no cure. I just read some of the latest news about how her dad is taking over everything do to her "sickness"...whatever that is...nobody has actually said it was definately one thing or another...but what I do find bazaar is just reading she isn't even allowed to drive a car...and her manager let her drive...according to Britney's dad...says that was a violation of some court order...but I thought that was only for when she had rights to have/visit her kids (that's gone now)...so whatsupwiththat?????...LOL...my head hurts from so much nonsense...Mr Canoe...thanks for your insight on my mispelled word...everyone still knew what I meant For someone who finds my interest in Britney annoying...and silly, I find it humorous that you spent your precious time responding...Mr. I think I'm Perfect :P more

Resolved Question: Why can't CNN report news without blaming someone else?

Recent news has Britney Spears taken to the hospital for mental evaluation and her custody and vistitaion of her children taken away. If anyone knows Ms Spears past, they'll understand that she consistently has moments of acting mentally disturbed along with disrespecting the law and court orders. So this recent news shouldn't be that surprising to anyone. I first watched the story on Fox News and they reported the story fairly and with facts. Later I watched it on CNN and the reporters were all commenting in such ways which made it look unfair that Britney Spears was treated in such a way and putting more negative comments towards Kevin Federline as if it was his fault for which Britney Spears behaves. Why can't CNN just agree that Britney Spears is quite the 'basket case' sometimes and lives an improper lifestyle of partying and not being responsible enought suited to raise her children. Why can't CNN just report the news without making the guilty look like the victim? more

Though I've always thought of her a crazy, I also thought she was incredibly self-centered and needed to be a better mother. Now, I kinda feel sorry for her and hope she gets the help she needs.
