Resolved Question: Help! Converse colour faded to an ugly gray...I want to dye them!?

Ok well I had converse which were the crossword edition. So they were black and white, I slipped and fell in mud and they got badly stained...My mom said she would soak them in omo (stain remover u get in south africa, not sure if you get it anywhere else but its really good, its kinda like vanish) and she did and for some reason they've turned gray and white but overall the colour has spread all over so they pretty much gray...I think there was probabloy some kinda bleach in omo but idk. I really wanna dye them now cause they cost alot. What kinda dye could i use? dylon dye? would that wash out? would it stain the rubber? are their any other kinds of dyes i can use? Also if you have any ideas on cool combinations when i dye them, i thought dying them black and dying the laces red would look kinda cool... Thanks more
