Whenever i ask her what she wants she says a cook book or pasta bowls, but i also want to get her something just for her, not the rest of the family. She doesn't like spa things (manicure/pedicure...) She always does crossword puzzles and sudoku so any things like that? She likes Jane Austin books/movies, but has them all. hi, my problem is that i cant concentrate on my studies, research work etc, even just reading books 4 fun. Also i don't feel the motivation when i do physical exercises. what the heck should i do? i take meds like zyprexa, anafranil, is that a problem? does yoga help? my shrink said i should do crossword puzzles, is it really helpful? or solving math problems? i took magnesium tablets, but i didn't feel any change. Voting Question: best excuse to fool my parents so i don't have to go to school?

this week in school most people are going on trips to places, this year there was no where i could afford to go. so i stayed in school and i think im being punished because i didn't go on a trip. there is only 33 people in my year left over. and me and my best friend decided it would be fun just us having lazy lessons in school. but me and my friend have been put in differnet groups and are alone in these groups and i have no body o talk to it is embarrasing when i have to go in a group because everyone is with their friends and im alone so me and my friend have had enough of these lessons (on monday ii spent 2 hours doing crossword puzzles alone), me and my friend want to stay off but i need a good fake illness so which one would you belive the most: mum, can i stay off tommorw because im on my period and its really heavy and we have to do 2 hours of p.e in shorts and then we have to walk around town for another 2 hours! i make myself look ill with make-up and go downstairs saying - mum i dont feel well, i have a really bad head ache and i feel like im going to throw up. then later i fill my mouth with water and pretend to barf. i can do a really good fake sneeze and sniff alot, so i could say i am not feeling up to walking around town or playing sports or i could take the risk of tlling her the truth and hope she will understand which one?? please helpi can't go into school, she is off for deffinate tommorow, and on monday lunch my friend was at the dentist and i had to spend my lunch alone in the toilets. how sad is that? there is no point going in im not learning anything this weekyeah ano its july! my school doesnt break untill next thursday more

so my friend and i are fighting........again. the reason this time is that i "took her Laptop" and didn't give it back. here are the details: our classroom has a "lab" of laptops and such, where we can go and get a laptop to use, without going to the computer lab. so she is up walking and stuff and i ask her "can you go get me a laptop, since you're already up?" so a little while later she sits down with a laptop and goes to my french teachers site, so we can study together. and so she brings the laptop onto my part of the table(b/c it is a science lab) and i look to find something we can study for our exam, b/c our teacher didn't have anything on her website. and so im looking and i see a crossword puzzle, and im like "look a crossword puzzle" and then she says "oh cool, try to find one we don't have to print out."(later on she denies she said that) so i try to find one, and i do. but while im trying to load it, she sits back in her seat so she can watch this guy play a game on the computer(she doesn't like him or anything) and so i just think "oh, well i guess we're not studying" so i pull up a game too. im playing the game and me and that guy are having fun b/c we're talking smack to each other and stuff like that(but in a joking way) and so my "friend" comes up to me and says "can i have it back" and im just taken aback, b/c when i was actually doing the crossword(which i did for like 8 min) i tried to get her involved in the review and she didn't seem interested and ignored me untill she asked for it back. and then my other friend who is always trying to act like my mother like telling me what to do and stuff says "cummon heather, give it back to her" and im like(b/c im tired of her telling me what to do) "sarah your not my mother, stop telling me what to do" and she looks at me like im crazy and like she doesnt know what im talking about. and then that guy says "that doesnt make any sense" and then i said "its none of your business" so they ignore me the rest of class untill sarah talks to me when the bell is about to ring. my "friend" always thinks everything i say to her is an insult, when im only trying to help her, she gets mad over the immaturest things, and then twists my words when i talk to her on facebook, when you can CLEARLY see what i have said. thank you for listening, i know it was long, but do you have any advice, if you need more details, ill be happy to put some more in. i am 15 and am a freshman in high school if that helps. thanks!:) more

Voting Question: I just want the advice of other parents..?

I know this is long, but it's worth reading, I promise. I'm 27 but I've never been close to my mom. My real dad left when I was three and I had two step dads. The first would whip me all the time and wouldn't let me use the bathroom and when he finally did he would watch to make sure I went and whip me if I didn't (I was nervous) My mom divorced him and married my little sisters dad.. when my brother sisters and I were little they would: Lock us outside all day in the summer Make us drink 32oz of water when we got thristy and got mad when we had to come in to use the bathroom Never took us anywhere except the state fair once a summer In the winter we had to sit in a corner after school for three hours and do crossword puzzles or color. Every day. We never had friends over or went to friends houses Never got to go to any school functions, play sports, join clubs I didn't get to go to my prom, and actually got to go to two dances but my friends mom paid and took us/picked us up. Most of the time we weren't given money for field trips if it was more than $5 or $10 but she wore over $10,000 worth of jewelry and had expensive clothes and we had two pairs of pants most of the time and had to switch them out every other day. I remember when i was sixteen I was outgrowing my clothes and she went and bought herself seven brand new pairs of jeans! We weren't allowed to get a lisence or car..they said it wasn't their responsibility to teach us how to drive. I don't remember her once singing or reading to me. Weve never been anywhere alone.. not even a movie.' We were scared to eat when we were little, once I ate some crackers and cheese and my step-dad screamed at me and whipped me because he said I had eaten his doritos (he said he smelled them) They would whip us for no reason, once my mom whipped me so hard I had bruises all over my body and she made me wear black from head to toe to church and it was June or July. (My brother told her I said I hated him, and I didnt) My step dad would make me sit in the tub for hours and not get out and wouldn't let me add any hot water, he also made us eat ramen noodles for supper from cups and sit and eat them in the plastic pool outside until it was dark no matter how cold we got. Once he made me eat peppernickle (is that what it's called?) loaf and I (THIS IS GROSS) gagged and spit it up/threw it up in my hand and he made me EAT IT AGAIN. I had to sit in the chair outside for the entire day because I shaved my legs when I was 13 because the other girls were making fun of me. I painted my nails light pink the morning of my first day in high school and she got so mad she made me take it off with sandpaper and my cuticles were bleeding. She wouldn't let me wear makeup until I was 16 and then it was so light you couldn't see it. She found out I took my lipgloss to school so she put all of my makeup in her trunk until it melted then gave it back. She slapped me in front of my friends in church because I said "Gosh" I was never allowed to have a boyfriend. Ever. And I was never allowed to have any friends over, but I overheard her telling her friend once that I was unpopular (which I wasn't) because I never did anything with my friends! We were never allowed to leave our yard even though my best friend lived RIGHT acoss the street.. our driveway led directly across the street to hers, but I never got to go play with her. My step dad whipped me really bad once because I had abbrev. assignment with 'ass.' in fourth grade because I didn't know the correct abbrev... anyone that can read would have known it was assignment but he just used it as an excuse to whip me. He always made up reasons to whip me, I was scared to come home that whole year. They have never done anything with their grandkids. They won't even keep my son who is two and is a very good boy. They complain about the granddaughter that lives with them. Well, that's all I feel like typing.. but my question is.. she tries to make us think she was a wonderful mom and today we got into an argument about how she never did anything for us (started with her complaining about my sister and her baby living there) and she said she was a good mom and I laughed at her.. now I want to remind her of all this but I don't know if I should.. should I? Another contributor recently asked me what my purpose is in analyzing music. I didn't have enough space to explain, so here are my reasons: ■ to help fulfill my dream. I hope to become a prominent composer someday. If I analyze enough Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven scores, maybe I can find some idesa to steal. ■ to prove myself. My composition teacher at Interlochen thought I was a real dummy. When I first met my present brother-in-law, he talked down to me because he had had two years of music theory at Oberlin. Those are two people I want to get even with. ■ to uncover mysteries. I couldn't figure out why people like Bella's Lullaby and River Flows so much, so I analyzed those two little gems. In this case, I didn't come up with anything. ■ for amusement. Hunting down fugal subjects is as much fun as working a crossword puzzle. okay so i have nothin to do and in algebra our teacher gives us these puzzles that are set up similar to a crossword puzzle and it the number bank i guess you could call it is set up like this: 3 number 051 075 135 147 173 199 210 260 300 etc it goes up to 7 numbers and usually there are only about 6, 7 number choices and usually over 20, 3 numbers and it gets smaller and smaller.....but anyways we have to fill in the the numbers to they match up and its NOT i repeat NOT suduko!!!!! or however you spell it!!!!!! it's so much fun and i love them but i'm on spring break now and we go back the 30th so i cant ask my teacher!!! plz help i wanna do some!!!!! more

About 6months ago I got a new job. One of my trainers caught my eye from day one. At the time I was involved in a relationship with my girlfriend for a little over a year. As classes went on I grew to like her alot more & we were always cutting up & laughing. She would make it a point to pick me out of the class & hear my thoughts or opinions. During training I found out that she had a partner. During training me & my partner split. After training was over we had additional "follow up" class where she came in after her shift & sat next to me the entire time writing silly notes back and forth & giving me all of the answers because she was distracting me the entire time & knew i had no clue. Before the class was over she asked me out to a karoke bar with some friends. I agreed only if a mutual friend of ours would join us..the mutual friend declined but "she" totally talked her into going. the night was a blast, she seemed a bit nervous around me & focus alot of conversation with the mutual friend. That night I found out that her & her partner had recently split & the situation was that she was the one that got "kicked out". Of course that sparked an interest again but more so a heartfelt concern for how she was doing. A few weeks passed as I took my new position which was a much later shift than hers. Our mutual friend's shift was a little earlier than mine & her desk was close to mine. I'd come in some days and "she" would be standing at the mutal friends desk & her whole face seemed to light up when i came in. and from what everyone in the office told me, "she" never came to that part of the office until I started working there. Almsot everyday "she" would make her appearance by my desk..meaning she seemed to find a reason to talk to the mutual friend and always make her way to my desk. eventually coming to my desk first & coming back with silly stuff like crossword puzzles & word searches, just for fun stuff to drop off at my desk " in case i got bored. then one night she showed up much later after her shift was over with 3 yellow roses ( yes i know yellow is friendship) and cards. one for me, one for mutual friend, & another i found out LATER was for another chick she was crushing on but never went anywhere. oh I forgot to mention..first night we went out..i crashed at her place. and my ex called me while i was there..and intoxicated...and "she" leaned over and made out with me, then looked at me and said "take care of that" meaning hanging up with the ex. yea... so as months went by i was hanging with her quite often..mostly at her place because it was closer to work ..and because i got off so late at night : midnight. and "she" had a day shift like 8am. so it seemed she was making an effort to hang by staying up so late i figured i wouldnt grip that it was always her place. conversation & laughing some nights ( or mornings really) would have us up until 8 or 9 in the morning ( these were weekends) sometimes we would makeout alot other nites it wouldnt be any of that. however everytime we were drinking together. eventually we ended up sleeping together and the next day she asked me to stay with her. i did. we layed in bed together for hours & got some food later & simply hung out. we didnt discuss the previous night much. the next day i get a text asking what happened that night. she claimed she didnt remember having sex. i was crushed. i put all my feelings out on the line to her. her response was the her heart still belongs to her ex and she believes it always will. i left it at that. i wasnt pushing for something more. i honestly valued and enjoyed our new found friendship so much more and wouldnt let something, i felt at that point, that must have been a fling thing ruin the friendship. we took some time apart after that whole ordeal. i seperated myself from her drastically..no texting and calling or trying to hang. none of that. she seemed concerned at first but soon realized i needed the time away and gave it to me. since our friendship has began she has always told me how much she values our friendship, how much it means to her to have me as a friend and so on, truely heartfelt. after a month or so of no hangouts, we met back up again & it was awkward at first but things just fell right back into place like before, as if we'd known each other for years. the chemistry between us is ridiculous...and its funny because of our age difference. ah yes...i failed to mention that. I am 22 & she is 34. yeap. i could care less her age...she rocks my socks 100%. she tells me all the time i deserve better than my ex, who i continue to talk to. however "she" puts her ex on a pedastal as if no one can ever come close to how great she is..as if she can do no wrong. she also challenges me in my relationship with my ex. asking me how the ex benefits me. a it aggravating seeing as how im in a rough situation with my ex and figuring out whether she worth any more of my time or not. which reminds me, in tlesbian love & relationshipswhich reminds me, in the beginning, "she" was hanging with her ex one night, whom ive never met, and i got a text from a random number, i called the number & it was her ex. i didnt talk to "her" for a few days, which must have drove her crazy because she went to our mutual friend asking if ive said anything about what happened and if i was upset...the mutal friend responded she knew nothing, "she" then told her what happened and said she didnt understand why id be upset because it wasnt like we were dating or anything..we had just kissed. mind you, the kissing thing was supposed to be between us because we do work at the same, huge, office. SO back to now, ive recently been hanging with her quite a bit. whenever i hang with her, i always stay the night because we may have a few drinks & i live a good 45mins from her. after the incident she setup a spare room for me, to create "boundaries", so staying there was comfortable, however many times id end up in her bed with our arms wso far i never had any intentions or expectations with nights like that, i simply enjoyed the time together. we always kept things at wokr professional..to give no one ideas. apparently that didnt work, as i was getting questioned about our relationship by quite a few people. i denied their assumptions and laughed it off saying we were jsut friends, drinking buddies. most recently, i hung out with her at her place, like any night we played video games, had some beers, & lots of conversation about life & silly stuff. ( back track here ..: past couple times we have hung, she tells me she loves me alot and cares for me & always kisses me as a friendly-like kiss/peck on the lips..for now reason really) so this past time we hung out..there was a moment when she puckered up & expected me to lean in to kiss her as i usually do..cuz why the hell would i pass it up? lol .. then i continued to talk and she gave me the look that said i want more..of course it turned into full blown making -oout as if the tension between us had been built up for years & stuffed into a bottle and someone just popped the cork off like it was new years. yea, that intense. all over the house..i get a stupid smirk on my face jsut talking about it. during one of the times we took a break to breathe, she made me look her in the eyes and told me " im not drunk this time" ( which was a big thing for her to say because the time we slept together she blamed being wasted for why she couldnt recall that part of the night ) so with her saying that i almost wanted to cry & slap her in the face for bringing it up & then i sarcatically asked her if she'd remeber in the morning..and she responded that she'd never forgotten before..basically saying that she DID remember that night. i laughed..what else was i supposed to do, start a fight with her?? so she became persistant on "remaking that night" but i refused & turned her down without saying it really because it was much too painful the first time & i didndidnt want to chance having another situation like that, again, because the friendship is so much more important than to chance it being destroyed by a possibly emotional-leading night. she then sat down next to me and asked what was going on in my head right then. i blushed and thought to myself how stupid of a question because she KNOWS its her that was on my mind, duh. so i made her go first..she told me how much she enjoys kissing me, to the point she cant explain it all before she makes out with me again. and how recently she doesnt understand what it is but has really enjoyed time with me, more than before.but doesnt want to give the wrong idea or have feelings hurt because she cant promise anything and is in no position to make moves with a relationship, her heart belongs to the ex..she longs to be with the ex. she says this all the time ( the ex thing) almost as if shes convincing herself its true..what do i know though..im only 22 yrs old. in told her my feelings were still thin told her my feelings were still there, even though i made an effort ot put them behind me after the sex thing, and thought id done so, but every bit of them came rushing back to me when i was with her. but that i didnt want a relationship or anything complicated ( as if this wasnt ) but i jsut knew there was something more to us than friends. and for the first time ( after all my efforts to get her to admit it ) she agreed. she responded,"so what does this make us, friends with benefits?" and lauhged it off before i could respond with anything other than a glare from hell...lol. it was quickly brushed off and i got up to get another beer ( as if that has helped so far) we continued to be kissey- face the rest of the night, almsot like we are dating..now that i think about it. we both knew i was going to her bed that night..rather than the spare room. we held each other & kissed like we had this secret ultimate puppylove between us. usually the next morning after a night like that with kissing and cuddling, we get up and go about things as if nothing happened really. its not talked about..it just happens. this last time we woke up and layed cuddling all morning and she enterlaced her fingers with mine and held me close to her chest..it was the sweetest thing in the world to me..right where i wanted to be. i wish i knew how it made her feel or what she was thinking at that moment...im too afraid of the rejection or ruiniruining of the moment to ask really. before i left we exchanged "i love you's" and heartfelt hugs... i went home. we exchanged a few brief general texts and a phone call or two. she's still in constant contact with her ex - as they choose to still be best friends and sleep together occasionally but cant be around each other much without fighting. where me & her can go days on end, not say much and be completely content with each others company. however she busies herself around any opportunity to spend time with the ex. which by the way, i did end up meeting the ex, and shes so much like me it ridiculous. the ex may be a bit more bold than me though. i actually like the ex alot. shes an awesome chick and i get why "she" digs her. but apparently theres some stuff lacking in between. i guess my overall thing here is, am i in over my head? i mean am i in too deep already? thats easy, yes! ugh, it drives me crazy, this whole thing. just not knowing but at the same time not wantingto know because of her situation with the ex...ugh. i dont know what to do. all of this is new to me, she's older than me, she works with me & above me, shes more experienced than me, we are in the craziest situation and im feeling head over heels for her all over again..and doing everything i can to not let my guard down but its impossible when im next to her - she has super powers, i promise! lol. every song is her. every stupid movie is her. every other word is her name when im talking about some great night i had, or funny conversation ( makes you wonder what the heck we talk about if its all her..lol. ) she asks me stuff that makes me think shes into me more than a friend like she proclaims..for instance, the first night we hung out, she asked me what kind of girls i like, and then asked me if she was my type. i threw myself in front of the bus when i answered that one, giving her the upper hand. and yes, "dating" or "whatever this is" is a game..especially with two people who areSo i have tried to include most everything...other than the details of both of our exes that we continue to try to have some sort of relationships with, in one way or another, i didnt see a need to explain their role play in the mess of our individual situations seperate from me & the trainer. Iknow she cares for me, she has expressed that over and over again and has followed through with her actions. I believe her when she says she loves me..i get that. ive tried to put this together a million times in a million different ways to try and wrap my mind around whats really going on here...but i dont know if im inhaling too much "puppy-love" smoke thats surrounding my head causing me to think for my on benefit rather than face reality. so that is why im posting this here, in hopes to get someone elses point of view. Does she dig me? Where is she going with this? should I put a stop to all of this or jut anything outside of a normal friendship? am i a rebound? is this worth my time? will i simply get crushed in the end ? what can i do to get all of her true feelings out of her ? pleeeeeeeeeease help!! id like to get some sleep.... lol thanks so much for any advice :) more

Each year, seventh and eighth graders have to do what is called an author report. In seventh, we got to do a children's book. This year I am doing Sarah Dessen, author of Someone like you, Dream Land, Lock and key, (etc.) In my author report, we have to do a bulletin board, a handout, and a oral report. My bulletin board is going to be so colorful and amazing! my oral report has a zebra striped background and lots of pictures for the powerpoint. My handout is just a timeline and fun facts. my friend taylor puts crossword puzzles every year on the back of her packet. that sounds cool, but that would be stealing. i was thinking maybe a quiz on which character you would most likely be in her books? but on the rubric, there is 10 points for a mandatory enhamcement! I want vocabulary activities. I do flashcards, crossword puzzles and drills but we are all sick of drilling to kill. I want a good movement game that doesn't take a long time to "build". I don't want to construct a jeopardy type game but I'm sure there are simple and interesting games out there that I'm simply not aware of. Please help.Both answers so far are excellent. They are both activities I played with kids when I was a music teacher at the elementary level. I teach high school ESL now but I forget they are just big kids and will still enjoy these games. I work security and on the weekends I have a LOT of downtime as the facility stops operating Friday nights until Monday morning. I've tried crosswords puzzles and books/magazines... just wondering if there are any other things to do when I'm sitting at the cameras bored, or at the gatehouse waiting for the two trucks that stop in. more

So, I already send my uncle magazine clippings, a letter once a week, and jokes off the internet (plus I bought him a word search/crossword puzzle book)...Is there anything else creative to send through the mail that might brighten his day? It is a federal prison so they are pretty strict but I thought I might try to mix things up a bit....Any ideas?? more

Resolved Question: Fun things to do in hospital while stuck in bed?

I have a feeling that I will end up being hospitalized again soon and I was wanting to know some fun things to do while be stuck in the hospital bed. I didn't get answers the last time, so I'm reposting. I got online and printed out Sudoku, crossword, and other puzzles. Even went as far as printing coloring pages. I am even bringing an iPod. I am not into reading books, watching much tv, won't be eager to talk on the phone, I'll have no use of a laptop, and I don't want to go out and buy expensive entertainment. Keep in mind, I have kids so I will not have any visitors since my hubby will be with the kids so cards and 2 people activities are out. Also I do not knit or do any crafty stuff. Are there any word games I could write, paper activities, or anything else fun I may have missed I could print free on the internet? Please leave serious answers. Not just "I don't know" or "Sleep alot". I will be in alot of pain while I'm there and just want some entertainment. Thanks more
