- Some of my friends have been discussing a holiday to India, and 1 of them rang me, & she told me about the holiday. But in a negative manner, cos she wasnt sure about the idea. - She put me off India, & we started thinking of maybe Spain where its cheaper & we could perhaps do watersports with the spare money, whereas with india wed spend all our money on flights! - So me, her & 2 of my other friends decided we would look into Spain. Now it turns out, shes booking her flights to india! - She didnt even tell me. It seems so sly, even though she doesnt really have that intention. - She keeps doing stuff like this, where she unintentionally makes me feel like sh*t, im her close friend yet i make effort into the friendship and she makes none - But for some reason... i never see her in the wrong? I was just browsing domestic Indian flight fares on the Web, most of the airlines/sites have huge taxes + fees, almost equivalent or more than the airfare. I could use some tips here to buy the tickets with out incurring too much fees. We are flying from Newark to Delhi, we want to take the earliest flight in the morning to either Hyderabad or Vizag. Resolved Question: Why can't I book a trip to London on the Air India website?

It makes no sense, because I can get an Air India flight to London using Priceline, but when I go on Air India's website it does not offer London as a destination- and I know it goes there. Why do I want to book directly from Air India's website, you ask? Two reasons: 1) I can choose which seat I want, which l can't do on Priceline 2) I MIGHT be able to get the price even cheaper if I buy directly from Air India. Any suggestions? more

Id like to go to Hyderabad in December...Id like it idealy to be a one month visit .. Firstly im 15 right now but ill be 16 in may If i apply for an adult passport now (my previous one was a child passport and has expired) would i be allowed to pay for an adult passport dispite the fact im not yet 16 but would be 16 at the time of travleing? Overland vs. flying (Iran to Kyrgyzstan) I am visiting Iran in the Spring, and I'm deciding whether to enter Central Asia by 1) overland via Turkmenistan or 2) by airplane to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan On one hand, I can see NO benefit in going overland since I need to arrange a difficult/expensive Turkmen transit visa in Iran, and a tourist visa to Uzbekistan, as "proof of onward travel" . Honestly, I am more interested in Kyrgystan, and Tajikstan because of the high mountain ranges. It's going to be hot in the late spring/early summer, and Uzbekistan and Turkemistan are pretty flat compared to their mountainous neighbours. Therefore, I prefer Kyrgyz and Tajik Anyways, that's why I am considering just flying (Iran-Kyrgyzstan) and since I am Canadian, a free visa on arrival (30 days) awaits me at Bishkek airport. Another added bonus compared to going overland. Does anyone see the benefit of going overland? Of course, I already found an airline flying Mahshad, Iran directly to Bishkek, only a 4 hour flight, and the price is bound to be cheap. In August 2008, and Iran Aseman flight crashed killing everyone on board just 2km outside Bishkek airport. So I guess now I'm only looking for an excuse NOT to go overland? And no the crash isn't enough, though maybe it should be? Nah, not by me. Arriving in Bishkek by air is again beneficial because of the free visa on arrival, and the relative ease in getting a Tajik visa in Bishkek, as well as the new Chinese/Tajik border crossing recently opened (2004). The only concern remaining is where to get a Chinese tourist visa to enter Xinjiang? Bishkek, or Dushanbe? Also, I am interested in entering Pakistan, and India after China, via the Karakourom highway (from Kashgar to near Islamabad). Where do I get those visas? Which embassies hand them out easier? My possibilities are Bishkek, Dushanbe, Tehran, or Dubai, but I have no idea when I am going to enter China, India, or Pakistan, so I need open entry dates on the visas, thus giving me freedom to travel at my own speed. Indian tourist visa in Colombo, Sri Lanka (cheaper)? I know India needs visas for both Norwegian and Canadian nationals, and I've heard they hand out wonderfully long six-month visas. Of course, purchasing a visa in either Canada or Norway would prove expensive, maybe more than 50 euro. My question is, since I am going to Sri lanka first (and spending 10 or so days), should I apply for an Indian visa in Colombo the first day, have a look around, wait for the visa to clear, and stamped in the passport, then catch a cheap flight to Kerala, South India, just over the water? How much would an Indian visa (tourist status) cost in Colombo? Are there are special requirements needed, for example I heard applying for an Indian visa in Sub-saharan Africa requires an additional Yellow Fever vaccanination certificate, regardless of your nationality. Does India require similar paperwork from Westerners arriving via Sri Lanka as well? Thanks more
