I have recently come back to India after living in the west for 10 years (Namely, Australia and Canada) and I wonder if most Indian girls have some severe psychological problem - or is is just my imagination? Yesterday I was at an ice-cream parlor (in New Delhi) and there was this nice looking Indian girl standing next to me. I said hello - in return she gave me a grin. I tried to strike a conversation - nothing specific - I just asked her how her day had been - she didn't reply - she paid for her ice cream cone and rushed out of the store. This is just one incident - for the last one month it has happened with me everywhere - Airports, flights, game parlors. Men don't seem to have a problem but it is the girls who according to me, behave rudely. I am fairly social and sociable. I don't look ugly and I try to treat everyone with respect. I am very excited to be back in my country and back with my people but it seems like the girls have some sort of a problem. According to my friends, Indian girls have no social skills and think of every man as a cheap rode-side stalker. Also my friends have told me that most Indian girls are conditioned into thinking that sex is a bad thing and that they make lousy lovers. Is this true? I don't believe in stereotyping and I would like to think of these incidents as isolated cases, but many people have told me what I just wrote above Indian girls (and stereotypes do come from somewhere). I would appreciate if you can give me your opinion(s). I apologize in advance, should my question offend someone. Thank you for your answers in advance. :-)May I also add that I have made many friends this way all over the world. I talk to everyone - men and women alike. As many of you have said, I sound desperate - its true to a certain extent. I am too excited to be here and would like to meet all of the 1.2 billion people living in this sea of humanity. ok. i first went online and saw some deals. as christmas is approaching the fares are going up. in spite of that i found an indian travel agent in the usa who got me a decent fare of about $1400 round trip detroit to calcutta with about 3 stops. this beat the online fares. however i don't want to leave until after the new year. how is it that travel agents can get such better fares? i was thinking about doing priceline at the last minute for a cheap flight but i'm told there are many restrictions. also my agent told me that when u see a cheap flight online u cannot always get it that they just suck u in and charge you more. i'm thinking about just going with the travel agent. any thoughts on this? more

Alright, so I'm planning a "backpacking" excursion over to Europe for my wife and I, and so far everything has been planned out quite well. I'm on the final leg of the journey (Rome, Italy) and have hit a roadblock concerning the flight back to North America. From what I have found, it is just too expensive for us to fly back to North America from Rome (over $1000 a ticket), and after looking through many different flight searches (Kayak, Martinair, Fly Global Span, Canadian Affair, Thomas Cook, Air Transat, Air India, Icelandair, etc.) I have yet to find a more satisfactory price. Getting to my question(s) however, I was wondering if anyone was able to locate or point me towards cheap flight tickets leaving from Europe/UK (any city really) to North America (preferably Toronto) around the 9th of August? Any information from people who have traveled before, have an interest in travel, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I am an Indian national who lives and works in the USA on an H1B visa valid till 2011. I am in France on a Business Schengen visa on a company-sponsored trip. My trip was extended for a couple more weeks and now it makes sense for me to travel to India directly from Europe for my vacations to save time, money, hassle and also reduce my carbon foot print, instead of going back to the USA and flying back through Europe (most likely LHR with British Airways' cheap fares). I was looking at airfares and it is cheapest ($550-$600) to fly from LHR than from CDG($1150+), so I am considering this itinerary. I know I am exempt from DATV with my H1B going from the USA to India and India to USA. I will be OK on the return leg, since my flight to the USA leaves from LHR. I am not so sure going from France to LHR, though. I will have a less than 24 hour layover and will not be leaving the airport. Do you think they will check or care, going from France? Hi guys, so ive decided to do the backparkers thing for 2 months I can fly very cheap from australia to thailand and baught a 1 way ticket for $340aud and the return flight home will be cheaper but besides that. Im traveling through thailand dont really want to visit the touristy places so much, will be more into the culture and i have a budget of around $650aud per fortnight which from what ive researched is pleanty to live off. Now although we dont have a solid plan, we are starting off in bangkok and making our way through cambodia then into vietnam (if anyone has some beach locations or towns that are a must see that would help) we are traveling then by motorcycle from ho chi ming up the coast of vietnam then arriving in ha noi (remeber these are rough plans) and if i have enough time I would love to see india although I'm not entirely sure how to get there. If anyone could offer some help on this issue it would be great.. Also i would love to work over there and stay longer than 2 months was thinking of taking the trans siberian rail from china through to russia and beyond so if anyone knows of places where westerners can work besides the obvious of say london ect... that would also be fantastic (I have finished high school and going to uni next year) thankyou more
