Hi, I'm going to Germany in a few weeks (Over Christmas and New Year's), and I'm thinking of traveling to one other place for a few days. Maybe Prag? Paris? Rome? What is cheaper? Flight? Bus? Train? (Know any good websites?) Also, what cities are known to be slightly less expensive? (to get to, and to spend some time in) I would just like the chance to walk around and experience another city; maybe visit a museum or two, get myself a coffee and people watch, maybe treat myself to dinner somewhere relatively nice but inexpensive. I am flying from Philadelphia to Germany in May to see my Grandparents and cannot decide which carrier to take. I don't have all of the money in the world and so far British Airways is the cheapest flight, I am scared they will lose my baggage though. I don't want to pay an extra 500$ just to get a flight that is non stop, I could use that money on my vacation. What airlines did you guys like that were reasonably priced. Has anyone flown with British airways and did you like it? I am trying to book a flight to Germany in May and British Airways is one of the cheapest flights with the most choices that I have seen. I was on a United Airline flight last year and hated it. The service was horrible, the food stunk, and we didn't have movies half the time. Hi, I'm making a trip to Germany but need some help with finding cheap transport: 1) Arriving at Zweibrucken Airport and wanting to go to Nuremburg. I've checked that there is a shuttle bus going for 20 euros. Would there be anything cheaper using the local transport? 2) Nuremburg to Rothenberg ob der Tauber. Is the bus fare of Euro 8.60 correct reasonable and would I have to book this in advance? 3) Rothenberg ob der Tauber to Cologne. I was trying to find an overnight train but it seems that there isn't one. Is there an overnight bus going to Cologne? Also, I've checked www.bahn.de and the timetable for the train shows that there are a several changes (i.e. not a direct connection). As I'm taking a late train (was hoping it would be overnight), I was wondering if the stations that the train stops at would have any waiting room or are we allowed to wait on the train until our next connection? 4) Cologne to Weeze Airport. What's the cheapest way to get there for a 6pm flight? Thanks! more

Im planning on visiting Germany in early January next year, but all the cheap flights I can afford only go to Dusseldorf or Frankfurt. I want to plan a trip to Germany, but I'm totally lost as how to plan this and the best place to book a flight and get a hotel without killing myself financially. As in Oz we have opposite weather I can only really go at the end of winter...is it true USA is colder then parts of europe? my flight is set ie LA to NYC to London and Rome....or I can do it in reverse depending on the weather. I'm going to go away for about 2 months travelling alone on a gap year. I live in the UK. I can either choose to do Dubai, Singapore, Oz (Sydney, travel to Melbourne), NZ, (Christchurch and Auckland) and LA or travel round Europe with Interrail. Europe will be about £1000 cheaper (flights come to around £1300 for RTW). Europe would include Spain (Barcelona, Madrid), France, Sweden (Stockholm), Croatia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Greece. I have the money for both but don't want to throw it away. Backpacking alone is common but sounds like it could be dodgy so that may be a plus for doing the cheaper option. more

I'm going there to take a TESOL class which only lasts for one month. After that I plan to visit friends in France and Germany so I don't really plan on flying out of Spain. I know I can stay in Spain for 90 days but I'm confused with that number. Is it 90 days in one country and then continue on to somewhere else for another 90 days or all of Europe total? I've also found some pretty cheap flights out of London to SFO so I think I may go with those if I absolutely have to show proof of a paid return ticket. I am an would like to do some traveling next year or the year after that. I want to travel through places in the U.K. and Germany, France, you know, places such as this. I do not really want to travel only through the big cities but rather through the smaller towns and villages. I would like to stay in a small cottage in England countryside for a couple of weeks. So how much will the rental of a cottage run me, pretty much how much am I looking at all together, flights, trains, hotels etc.?
