I have a semi-weak motherboard-GPU (nvidia 8200M G) in my laptop and I'm running Windows 7 RC. And I know Windows XP will not perform as well with the newer and more expensive graphics cards since it is an older OS, but will I see better performance if I were to run XP instead of 7 for games like Sims 2 or Sims 3 and Flight Simulator?Also, it is a laptop...so, not much in the way of upgrading, only the OS really so that's why I was wondering. more

So is it possible if I could download any rc flight simulator off the internet and then use the controller that comes with Super Cub RTF instead of buying a rc flight simulator kit? I would need the usb cable though to connect the controller to my computer right? Where can i get that usb cable? more

I have an Esky dauphin coaxial rc helicopter and the esky edition of Pre-flight's simulator software, but I'm getting a little bored with it and want to upgrade to something bigger. The new unreleased Esky big lama looks like fun because it has a 6 channel reciver which would allow for some fun tweaking like rectractable langing gear, lights, and it's supposedly made for "outdoor flight". At the moment I find it a bit annoying that the slightest breeze overpowers my dauphin, so I question weather a coaxial heli will ever be any good outside. at the same time I'm thinking that mabye it's time to move up to an entry-level colective pitch model, but I'm a little intimidated by how difficult they appear to be to fly, and the costs associated with reparing them. It would help to know if some CP helis easier to fly than others. I would like to keep the kit cost under $160. any ideas? more

So, I have always wanted to learn how to fly - since I learned how to talk I have wanted to be a pilot... but since I'm Middle Eastern, and since between my childhood and my adult life, a little event called 9/11 occurred, I had to give up on this dream... Actually I was building little RC planes before 2001 - I was in High School - I was also playing flight simulators, and was on a track to go into the aerospace business... But several months after the events, my dad found out that I continued with my hobby, and put an end to it - he told me that I was putting the family in danger - he got rid of my flight simulator, and destroyed all of my RC planes and books relating to airplanes... to this day, I think he did the prudent thing... because going to flight school would mean that I would suddenly become a prime "terror suspect." And having blueprints, circuits, and materials for building radio controlled airplanes would also look suspicious... I'm in my 20's now, and I finished a BA degree in Philosophy/English... but I still want to fly... I don't have the money and I'm afraid to do it (for political reasons)... I know it is not prudent, because it will give the government the excuse they want to throw another young Middle Eastern man jail... but should I do it anyway... more

I'm Middle Eastern - since I was able to talk I had always been interested in flying, aviation, and space... I used to build RC planes, play flight simulators, but when I was in 8th grade or so, 9/11 happened, so I had to give up on that... I remember my dad coming in my room a few months after 9/11 - he took away my flight simulator and destroyed it, and got rid of all my blueprints for RC planes, and destroyed the airplanes that I had... he was very angry when he did it - and said that I would get the entire family in trouble... he told me never to mess with or talk about airplanes or aviation again... I realized how serious he was, and how serious it was at the time... right now I'm 21... I have a degree in philosophy... I'm still kind of afraid to say... apply for a flight school or go back to designing my own planes... because think I can get into trouble for it... besides, what flight school today will accept an Arab guy? more

i am a beginner but for my first rc helicopter i want a 3d heli i am going to use simulators and the training kit. i am going to buy the heli off ebay max price is £100 i will go a bit higher. the heli i want is one that has belt driver tail optional and flight simulator also training kit. i was thinking about esky honey bee king 2 or dragonfly 22e. the dragonfly 22e is £65 and the esky honey bee king 2 is £85 both have sellers in hong kong so im buying straight off the makers. oh ye the prices on the helis (£65 and $85) are with the postal cost so that is ok. if anyone knows a good heli that is on ebay or not that is 3d optional belt driven tail and is under £100. more

Resolved Question: I built an RC plane myself, and am a novice flying. I've only flown cheap 2-ch planes until now, but can fly

well in a flight simulator. Anyway, my plane is about 3'6" wingspan and has the wings up above the fuselage. It is 3-ch electric. When I tried flying it, I hand launched it into a steady 10-12mph breeze, but the plane was incontrollable. It sort of started oscillating and got thrown over onto it's side. Not much damage occured, but I would like to know what the problem is! Is it the wind, the plane, or just me? more
