Conspiracy crusader doubts official 9/11 version 11 May 2003 MICHELE LANDSBERG Barrie Zwicker gazes calmly into the camera, hands clasped, voice clear and resonant, looking the quintessential Canadian progressive: a colourful knitted vest over an open-collared shirt, a neat little beard, a personality that radiates boyish, almost naive friendliness. Not a shard of irony, not a sliver of petulant, up-to-date narcissism. Perfect. You couldn't possibly be more agreeable or less threatening. Then, of course, he ruins it all by asking questions. They are questions that 99 per cent of Canadian journalists have not dared or deigned to ask, and that most Canadians would prefer not to hear. In these strange times, asking direct and probing questions about 9/11 will get you instant put-downs. Zwicker grins as he mimics the upward eye-roll and patronizing hand-flap that go along with the phrase "conspiracy theorist." As Vision TV's media critic for the past 15 years, and as a journalist with a long list of solid credentials (he's worked at The Globe and Mail and The Toronto Star, taught at Ryerson University, and was awarded a Southam Fellowship at the University of Toronto), Zwicker should be safely out of the line of fire. It's a measure of his determination to challenge conventional wisdom that he has willingly kept his head up, instead of down, and tried to look facts right in the eye. "You know, the people who just shrug off these questions with the `conspiracy theorist' epithet should be asked what they stand for. Unquestioning acceptance of the official narrative? Sure, there are outlandish theories out there — aliens, Atlantis — but there have also been real and huge conspiracies," Zwicker told me in an interview in his home office. I knew about some of those conspiracies. Last January, I wrote a column about American declassified documents that verify a long history of top-level conspiracies. The U.S. government, its military and its secret service have plotted to justify wars and impose their control on other countries through intricate secret schemes of drug-running, gun smuggling and assassination. They even considered rigging fake terrorist attacks that would cost American lives in order to stir the public to war-ready outrage. Immediately, I was deluged with hundreds upon hundreds of approving e-mails from American citizens. Some of them praised the TV work of Barrie Zwicker — a Globe and Mail colleague of my youth. I sat down, with a fair degree of skepticism, to watch Zwicker's video, The Great Deception, which challenges the U.S. government's account of what really happened on 9/11. Slowly, a frightening chill came over me. These were the very questions I had asked myself on 9/11 and for several weeks after. Failing to find easy answers, I had locked the subject away. Why did the United States Air Force fail to scramble interceptor jets — in defiance of all long-standing rules and well-established practice — for almost two hours after it was known that an unprecedented four planes had been hijacked? How could the world's most powerful military fail to react throughout a prolonged, horrifying attack on the financial and political capitals of the nation? How did the FBI know the exact identities of the hijackers within 24 hours of the attacks? If their files were so readily to hand, why hadn't they been apprehended earlier? After all, several conscientious FBI agents had raised the alarm about a number of known Al Qaeda sympathizers at U.S. flight schools, and had been ignored. Why did Donald Rumsfeld call for a war on Iraq (not Afghanistan) the morning after the Saudi hijackers had accomplished their attack? Why did the two squadrons of fighter jets at Andrews Air Force base, 19 kilometres from Washington, not zoom into action to defend the White House, one of their primary tasks? Why did George Bush sit for half an hour in a Florida classroom, listening to a girl talk about her pet goat, after his chief of staff told him about the second plane? For that matter, why did he pretend that he first learned of the attacks in that classroom, when he had actually been briefed as he left his hotel that morning? Why has there been no public investigation into the billions of dollars "earned" by insider trading of United and American Airlines stock before 9/11? I went to interview Zwicker because I was fascinated by his courage in raising these unpopular questions and wanted to know what made him persist. I saw the answer for myself. At nearly 69, Zwicker has boundless energy, intellectual as well as physical. (This is an environmentalist who gave up cars in 1966 and who bicycles thousands of kilometres across country for fun). He has a restless scientific curiosity, coupled with humanistic principles absorbed from his United Church minister father. (If you haven't watched the season premiere, do not read) Some random thoughts... I thought the transition from the bomb flash to the clouds on the plane was great. I really enjoyed the zoom down to the sunken island. The flight to LA is shot in a different color pallet. It's almost sepia. It looks like we have parallel time lines, but they are not simultaneous. The plane is 3 years in the past. I think we are going to have two tracks all year. This fits with the dualities found in the plot lines of the series (good/evil, black/white, faith/science) The LA track appears to have positive story arcs where redemption is the operative word. Expect Jack to cure Locke, Hurley (who now only has good luck) will meet Libby, Sawyer to save Kate, etc. The Island track appears to deal with the demons found in the characters. Expect some decision, possibly sacrifice (someone dies?), at the end to determine which track becomes reality. BTW this fits into the physics of the series because of something called quantum wave formation. A wave of potential exists but only becomes reality when we interact with it or observe it. (see Scrodinger's Cat on wikipedia) Maybe the LA track becomes reality because they get rewarded for helping Jacob back on the Island. Desmond's on the plane... for a while. This makes sense because he can exist and move among time lines. I think he's going to be bouncing back and forth and will be the glue that hold the two threads together. The survivors at the temple are all the ones Jacob touched. The note contained their names. Locke is now a brand new character, "Smokey Locke." I loved the evil look he gave the camera. It reminded me of Pauly Walnuts from The Sopranos. He out creeps Ben. We finally see the Temple. The Smoke Monster wants to reclaim his throne. It appears he was cast into the underworld. (The area under the Temple where he had the encounter Ben) Richard was previously in chains. He must be an escaped slave from the Black Rock. The Others are probably all descendants of the slaves from the ship (Mutiny on the Black Rock?) How did Juliette know "it worked?" Was she the sacrifice? Will Sawyer meet her in LA? more

Here is my unfinished story about an old video series I made with my friends. Please let me know what you think, and if any grammar needs to be changed, thanks! Survive It was a warm, sunny day. I was sitting in my house, packing my bags. I was going on a trip with a few colleagues from school to a trip to Greenland, for study. After a few minutes I was ready. I had sent a text message one of my colleagues, Brett. It said that I was ready, and for him to come pick me up. After a few minutes I heard his loud, 1969 Camaro's engine roar. “You ready yet?” He shouted “Yes..” I sighed “Lets go then!” He said. We hopped in his Camaro and zoomed off. After about a 15 minute drive, we arrived at our other friend's house. He had a 2 story, double decked plane. “Here you go.” He said. “Yes, thank you so much!” I said. “But, there is one thing.” He proclaimed. “Yes..?” Brett said. “You gotta share it with some mental students from Chicago.” “WHAT?” Brett and I shouted. “Yes, unless you want to pay for gas.” He said. “Okay, I will get them, just wait here” “Alright, dude” I smiled” About 2 hours later they arrived in a HUGE tour bus. There was at least 50, if not more. “Here they are” He said. “Lets go!” Said Brett. We then boarded the plane and took off. The flight was going as well as expected. It was about 11:30 at night. We were all asleep until the pilot went on the P-A and announced the following message: “We are hitting some uncalled for storms. We should be out of this weather shortly.” Everyone fell asleep after that, but me. I got out of my chair, unbuckled my seat belt, and walked up to the pilot. I asked him questions about the weather. I was in the middle of a sentence, but I was interrupted. All of a sudden, a loud bang was heard. I was scared to my stomach. All of a sudden the plane was flying down. Within 2 minutes of the crash I was knocked out cold. I had no clue what happened at all. All I knew was I was sopping wet, and I had a huge cut on my arm. At about, I don't know, 10:00 AM I woke. I was dry, and my arm was healed. I was in a forest, and I heard no voices. I was scared that I may be the only survivor. I walked around, soon to see a person. It was Brett. I was relived. “Are you okay?” Brett said. “Yes, and you?” I said. “Yes, I am.” Brett responded. He must have found his camera. He was video taping. He always did that when something important happened. I tisked inside of my head, but I thought that if we made it back, this could be great to see. “Uh... dude.” Said Brett “What?” I said “ Is that a trap?” Asked Brett. I thought and stared. “Yes.. so?” I asked “SOMEBODY ELSE IS HERE!” Yelled Brett. “YOUR RIGHT!” I responded. Now we both knew we weren't alone. We were both scared out of our minds. We walked around, hoping for an exit. Then, all of a sudden- “AHHH!” We heard a loud scream and looked up. It ends up it was two of the mental students. Their names were Adalina and Liliana. “WE ARE NOT THE ENEMY!” Shouted Brett. “Oh...” Adalina proclaimed. Then, after finding them, we continued our journey. Before even going a meter, we met another person. He was an Indian. Right away he greeted us in a kind manner. His name was Austin. “Hello” Said Austin. “Hello” I said. I went off telling him our problem, while Brett, Adalina and Liliana went off to explore some more. I told him we were hungry and needed a place to sleep. He showed us his area and offered us help. “Brett!” I yelled. “Come here!” He came over and I explained what he said to us. I told him that he is building our beds, and if he could help. Brett went over while the students watched. “Do you think that there are anymore survivors?” Asked Brett. “No, if there were, they would have heard us.” I told Brett. It was getting late. I was hoping that we could find some stuff that we could use from the plane, but I was scared to go in there. All the dead bodies, I would turn white real fast. That night, all 5 of us were sitting by the fire. We all were cold, but glad that we lived. I overheard the conversation Brett and Austin were having. They were saying there is an enemy. He was a big man, and he had many hand made weapons. They also talked about having protection, and that we are NOT safe. As soon as I heard that, I feared my life. I knew I wasn't safe. After fearing my self to sleep that night, I had terrible nightmares. I had a dream that we were building a base when the enemy came and we weren't prepared. After that I woke up. It was really early in the morning, probably about 5 AM. I was surprised to see Brett up, and not the Indian. “What are you doing up?” I said in a raspy voice. “Making weapons. I had nightmares.” Brett Said “So did I!” I said. “Here help me sharpen this.” He was making a knife of stone.THATS NOT THE WHOLE STORY THERE STILL IS MORE! more

I am planning on ordering a pair of Nike Hyperdunks. Usually when I buy shoes, i find them in a store to try them on, but no stores in my area carry them. I want to make sure I get the right size, because I am getting the hyperdunk id's and can't return them if they don't fit. Before I get into my dreams I'm going to say a few things about myself. I'm a 24 year old female. Not married, no kids, live by myself and my pets. I dream in total color, which I've been told is rare. I've never done anything violent, I've never had anything violent done to me. I've had a pretty normal life. Having said that, my dreams are never good dreams. Either really abstract and weird or really violent. Mostly violent. And mostly violence against me. Whenever I tell anyone about my dreams they always ask me if something happened to me, which is what's making me think my dreams aren't normal. I've been shot in the stomach with a shotgun. I've been stabbed to death (And I feel the pain to some extent). I've been kidnapped. Raped (Most of the time I'm saved too late). Hunted. Shoved off buildings (People are usually surprised that I actually hit the pavement and don't wake up. Instead a "camera" takes over and zooms out showing my dead bleeding body). Eaten alive by some strange animal. Once I had cancer and my family couldn't bare my pain so they had me euthanized. Or if it's not me it's something bad happening to someone I love. I dreamt that I watched my 9 month old baby brother fall down a flight of stairs and die. I watched someone else slit my grandmother's wrists. My brother and sister get kidnapped. My best friend gets eaten by an animal that chasing us. My friend gets shot when we're being hunted by someone who wants to kill me. Very rarely am I violent. I can only remember two where I was outwardly and purposely violent. Once I shot my uncle in the head and disposed of his body (What's even more messed up is he had already been dead for 8 years when I had this dream). And last night's dream was I beat my ex boyfriend's new girlfriend half to death because she wouldn't listen to me when I tried to warn her about the awful things my ex says about her (In reality they are not dating, but he messes around with her and does say awful things behind her back. I also can't stand her). In the dream I was trying to hurt her with his words but I was also really trying to warn her. She blew me off and basically called me insane, so what did I do? I picked her up by her hair, slammed her against a wall, choked her with my forearm while having a tight grip on her hair, and eventually smashed her head in on the wall. It's last night's dream that is prompting me to post. It really disturbed me and not because my ex was seeing someone else and flaunted it in my face. I'm pretty concerned with how upset I got in the dream and the fact that I practically crushed her skull into concrete. I never get that angry in dreams. In my dreams I'm always terrified or anxious or confused. Are my dreams normal? I heard meds can do this to you, but I'm not on any. I'm not overly stressed. Does the fact that I was so violent and angry towards that girl mean anything? After writing all of this down it kinda feels like I should see someone about them. PS: Just a funny side note, velociraptors and tornados are constant fixtures in my dreams. I have Jurassic Park and Twister to thank for that. Saw them when I was 9 and 12, who would have thought that all these years later I'd still be stalked by super smart raptors that open my doors and a tornado that's chasing me. more

i had a dream a while ago that i had the power of telekenisis, flight, palm lasers, and transformation. any way i went to my school (in dream) picked up the entire population, put them 60 feet in the air.....and droped them all. everyone died except for this guy in my math class. he calls the FBI and i fly away. i land on a beach plaza where i encounter the kid and some agents along with an apache helicopter. pwned them all and start running through the city/town. for some reason its deserted except for the new helicopter and a humvee sort of vehicle. then it zooms out to a big map. the world looks like the old supercontinent pangia (sp) and my marker shows im sorrunded. no problem, i just summuon my own army and beal them all. i build a spaceship and get away. 50 years later im still young and "earth" invented armed spaceflight. they got hundreds of ships versus my gigantic ship/deathstar thing cuz when i beat everyone i blow up earth. more

I always have ideas about things to write about in my head, and I really enjoy writing..but trying to sit down and sort it all out in a formatted way has always been difficult for me. But does this intro sound at all interesting? Nicole Baker had always loved plane rides. The smell of the stuffy cabin, the gentle rumblings of turbulence, and seeing shapes in clouds as the aircraft zoomed to some exciting destination or another always kept her interested. This trip, however, was marred by the fact that for one, she was stuck next to a thin, dark haired, middle aged man who would not surprise her if he told her he was a vampire and was curled up in his seat with the window tightly shut and a blanket over his head. For another, she didn’t even want to go to the place where her and her family was headed. She would have been perfectly content if they had left her at home with her friends who were all getting ready to go on a senior road trip to southern California before everyone parted ways for college at the end of summer. Of course, she would be the only one not going with, and instead was headed to rainy Seattle for her brother’s wedding. Nicole had no personal vendetta against weddings; it was more the issue of who was to be the bride. Truth be told, she did not like her brother’s fiancée, 25-year-old Carlie Woods, whom everyone else had deemed charming and perfect. To Nicole, she just seemed like quite a good actress. Her brother, Garrett, and she had never really been close when he had lived at home given the almost 8-year age difference, but recently they had begun to e-mail, text, and talk on the phone and share with each other thoughts, problems, and goals. This sudden closeness had brought on an irrational feeling of protectiveness in Nicole, despite the fact that she was Garrett’s 8-year-younger little sister. Because of this urge to protect her brother, doubts of her soon to be sister-in-law had increased greatly. She did not want this wedding to even happen (not with bridezilla, in any case). Add in the fact that her dad and his new family were going to be there along with a bunch of Carlie’s relatives whom Nicole had never met, disliked on principle, and would have to spend the next two weeks with, she briefly considered running into the cockpit and forcing the pilots to turn the plane around. “Ma’am?” Nicole started, coming out of her reverie. A generic blond flight attendant was leaning toward her, a piece of paper in her hand. “I was told to give this to you…” Nicole was handed a folded piece of paper that looked like it might have been torn from a day planner. “Thanks,” Nicole replied, curious. The man-who-might-be-a-vampire peeked his head out from under his blanket and ordered a Bloody Mary. The flight attendant confirmed, flashed the two of them a smile that was obviously practiced and forced, and walked back down the aisle. The man turned toward the closed window, gave it a look of deepest loathing, and retreated back into the blanket. Nicole unfolded the paper and looked at the hastily scrawled sentence, which said: How you doin’ up there, honey? Nicole stared at it for a moment, then, being very careful not to roll her eyes, turned around in her seat and looked on the other side of the small plane, six rows back. Her mother, Anne, and her stepdad, Jim, were waving furiously at her and laughing silently. Nicole tried to smile back, managed a sort of grimace, and quickly turned back around. She wasn’t sure if her mom wanted her to actually write back or not, but either way she wasn’t going to. She crumpled the piece of paper and stuffed it into the pouch on the back of the seat in front of her. Nicole hadn’t thought there was anyone more goofy, childish, and clumsy than her mother until she had met Jim. They were quite the match; that was for sure. Pair the two of them with her serious, grim-faced father and his new power hungry wife for two weeks, and Nicole couldn’t see any good that could come out of it. She was amazed, as she often was, that her real parents had actually stayed together for 9 years. They had divorced when Nicole was just a baby, so she had never gotten to witness what they were like together. Sighing, Nicole plucked her iPod from her carry-on bag and leaned back in her chair. She put on the most calming music she had and closed her eyes. She could at least enjoy an hour or two of peace before the mayhem began.Thanks for the tips :) And no...this story is not at all about vampires. It was just a silly detail about the plane ride, ha. He is in good enough shape to take a road trip from New York to florida though, my main concern is the saftey of the baby I would start by landing in Madrid and staying a day or two to get settled, rent a car, get a hard copy of a map, (in addition to GPS)rest, and see Madrid. I would then travel south to Toledo, then south to Cordoba south/west to Sevilla, south to Cadiz, and south to Tarifa,I'd like to spend extra time here to take a ferry to Morocco just for a day trip by myself (too shady for the family). then east to Malaga, up to Granada then zoom across to Valencia taking in the country on the way but trying not to stop. Then up to Barcelona, across to pamplona, cross to Asturias (perhaps extra time here, my great grandfather was born there) across to galicia and time permitting some time in portugual. The closest city to the border of galica would be fine. Then back to Madrid to fly home. I'd like to get an estimate as to how long this whole trip will take and how much it will cost, in tolls, gas, food etc. I know what it will cost for the flight and about what it will cost for the hotels. Small payloads can be ejected into Space this way, and recollected at the International Space Station and reassembled to make Antigravity Crafts to reach speeds of 400,000 meters per second. these crafts can be used to observe the Sun constantly and send pictures to Earth so that Solar Flares may be predicted, after which stay in the Space Station and Space Travel will be safer. It also means very few manned flights to the Space Stations, (NO MORE EXPERIMENTS OR THRILLS, OR BUSINESS TRAVEL), and so no space junk. Return flights need no fuel basically and crafts can be assembled in Space. I think this is the outline for future space, and make no Red Giants, out of Russia, America, or China (should they find smaller countries filling the outer atmosphere with Space Junk). more

In contrast, Ryan Air gets £8,500 in ticket sales each way, and another £5,000 goes to taxes and fees if it fill every one of 189 seats on it's Boeing 737-800 that flies from Stansted to Belfast City. ------------ My question is if he is going to give public lectures on environmental awareness, would it be possible if he could rent a sexy little turboprop to do these short flights. I know they are only 9 seaters, but perhaps some of his staff could fly commercial. Garmin GPS: when I started using microsoft flight simulator, I was being lazy. I wasnt plotting a flight plan in the "free-flight" section. The other day, I plotted a flight plan. Im understanding better how the Garmin GPS works. I see how if you zoom out, you get a geographic map with statelines; then if you zoom in, you get the nearest-airport call-letters, and airspace markings and so forth; and the GPS shows your course to the destination airport. and it shows your heading, and how many degrees the heading is off from the course. QUESTION: what satellite service do you subscribe to, so the garmin GPS picks up the satellite GPS map info? And besides starting point, and destination, what other data does the pilot program into the GPS for his specific flight? ...The Garmin GPS is some cool sh--!!! Im not an expert on it yet. My next step is to learn how to choose and program in the alternative destination point. Another question: Are starting points and end-points referred to as waypoints? Or are waypoints always places in the middle of a flight? ....Im not a pilot. right now, just a microsoft simulator enthusiast. GPS rocks!!! VORs suck!!! I dont quite have the hang of VORs yet. I was living alone with my cat in a beautiful cabin, in a forest village, and one day I went deeper into the forest. A small blue fairy-like light came up to me. It told me I was on a quest, and the fate of the world depended on me. It was weird though because when it "talked", it felt more like it was telepathy. Anyways, we wandered out of the forest and into a strange valley. At the edge of the valley was a steep cliff. The light told me to jump. "Jump? Are you insane? I could get killed!" <Trust me,> it answered seriously. I listened and leaped off the cliff, fearing for my life. <Spread out your arms.> I spread out my arms and to my amazement they grew feathers, and I had become a snowy owl. I was soaring through the air, it felt awesome. I've had many dreams of flying before, but this was the most "realistic" flight I've had. I adore the feeling of thermals lifting me up as the wind bristled through my feathers <3 'Twas wonderful. But this was not over yet... I caught a good thermal and lifted higher into the air. Yes, yes, perfect! But then.. no. I was falling. I had become human again. I tried to scream for help but I couldn't... sorta like when in a dream, as much as you want to run, you can't run. The light was still zooming after me, and then I noticed I was shrinking. About 10 metres before I hit the ground, I'd become a small black cat. I landed gracefully, and began to run, hoping this wonderful dream would last forever. But then... I woke up.PS.... I meant to put this in Mythology and Folklore. Oops! And is there a board for dream interpretation? If so, please link me to it! I couldn't find one! Sorry for mix-ups! more
