Resolved Question: How do I stop people from mistaking me as a 10 year old (at least for right now)?

I'm 20. First of all, I am grateful people think I'm younger than I look, which is actually 16-18. However, when people think I'm below 16, it starts to bother me. I think it's partially due to the bone structure in my face and/or that I'm 5'2. I both dress and act my age. I don't novelty shirts (shirts with sayings on them) I only some make-up, just enough to tell that I'm wearing it. Here's two examples of how people mistook my age: I was with my fiance's family to dinner and the waiter mistook me either a 10 year old and being under 10. And at Wal-Mart, the door greeter tried to give me a Hannah Montana contest for girls under 15. Here's a pic. Sorry that it's kind of oldish looking. Resolved Question: Spiritually Speaking: Do you believe a man should avoid challenging a woman on an intellectual basis?

Don't get me wrong I don't believe in a man using violence against a woman (I don't believe in anyone using violence against anyone actually) but it seems pretty damn sexist to me to think a woman is such a weak little flower that she must be patronized to in a debate. I can easily think of at least five women I personally know right off the top of my head that I wouldn't want to have to take on in a debate (and I'm certainly not a lackluster debater). Female lawyers tend to be extremely successful, and if a male is indeed the better debater, does the fact that she is female make his victory somehow hollow? To me that notion is unconscionably sexist. Yeah I wouldn't approve of Mike Tyson taking on Hannah Montana in a boxing ring, but I bet Hannah would mop the floor with him in a geography bee (which brings up another point, if you DO feel that way then do you believe that women shouldn't be allowed to participate in intellectual contests like geography bees or spelling bees? Do you think they should be allowed to teach at universities? I put this in R&S because it is sort of a response to an R&S question from a few minutes ago that really got me thinking.Thank you Stevie and I must say that when I debate ANYBODY I never hold back out of respect for the person I'm debating. If you win a debate with me, you can absolutely say that you are the indisputable victor because I gave it my very best and could not win.I can't distribute thumbs btw, and I wouldn't have thumbs downed any of these answers, you all seem to be very honest and I appreciate that. more

OK this might sound silly to some people, but it is really KILLING me… Yesterday I called my local radio station, and got through to play a contest that they do every morning, where you listen to a bunch of clips of movies and music, and then you and the dj’s try to guess what year all those things happened. Its called Remember the Time. Well, when I got though I was ecstatic because they were doing a private concert with Hannah Montana in their studio, and they were going to let me and my little sister come in if I won. My little sis is a HUGE Hannah fan. I could care less, they gave me a choice between NO Doubt tix and Hannah, and I chose Hannah for my little sis. WELL, I ended up guessing wrong for the tickets, but the other DJ’s guessed the wrong year too. I would have changed my answer, but the girl on the show told me I shouldn’t change my answer, that she thought I was right. I partially blame her because I would have chosen a different year if she hadn’t said something. So they didn’t give me the tickets to come in, even though I begged to please let me come in because my lil sis was listening and she wanted to meet Hannah so so so badly (she’s only 8). They refused, and used the excuse that they were going to give the tickets to someone else. WELL they never gave the tickets out to anyone else. After that, I felt so incredibly sad that I didn’t win, not for myself but for my little sis who wanted to meet her so so so badly. I feel almost guilty about it. I had the chance, got so close to it, and lost. I am still feeling guilty and angry at those guys today. My poor sister was crying this morning when she woke up because she couldn’t meet Hannah Montana. (Personally I think the whole Hannah thing is STUPID.) HOW do I get over this feeling of guilt and sadness. This would have been a literal once in a lifetime opportunity for my sister, and now I will probably never ever get that chance again. I feel so horrible right now, and sad…I keep thinking, “If only I had guessed differently. If only I hadn’t listened to that girl. If only, If only…” more
