So, I am auditioning for creative writing at a high school of the arts. Is it any good? I looked around the room. Teagan was crying, and Chester was holding onto my leg, refusing to let go. Sarah and Elisabeth were hugging each other in the wooden doorway, not wanting me to leave, either. Should I leave? I had no choice, I had to. I was chosen. I looked at Margaret, the runner of this home. The shade of her red-rimmed eyes matched her bright red curls. She was saying something, her lips moving, but I couldn’t hear anything. My thoughts were being screamed, as if people were in my head, like a television sitcom. I looked around once more, wondering where Luke was. He became my best friend here, and I needed one last goodbye. A hug from yesterday wasn’t good enough. “Ginny, dear, it’s rime to go,” my new mother told me, pulling softly at my sleeve, causing another round of tears from Teagan. “Okay,” I sighed, picking up my tan suitcase, decorated with teal flowers. It was my real mothers. I looked around this place. Sure, it wasn’t huge, and sure, these people weren’t my real siblings. Foster home isn’t too bad though, at least until you are chosen. You have to leave the ones you have learned to love. I remember meeting Luke, which made my heart hurt, knowing he won’t be back in time. We were both first graders, and he took my animal cracker. So, I took his. And you know that saying, if you like a girl, you tease her? Well, that’s what all the other first graders thought, so they teased us, and we became pariahs. The beginning of a now ending friendship. I shuffled my feet towards the door, the twins looking up at me. Their eyes shooting out messages, begging I stayed. That I told that couple with the new Mercedes out front to beat it, visit another home. Take someone else away. Or, maybe I was over thinking it. After all, they were only seven. Maybe they just wished that I could stay to play house with them. I looked at them, taking in their blonde ringlets, and their illuminating green eyes. Why wouldn’t they choose them? They’re so young, and I’m fifteen already. What would they want with me, if I would be there for three years? With a final hug, I walked out of their, refusing to cry. I watched as my new father, Roger, took my bag and put it in the trunk. I opened the backseat door, and settled in. I looked out the window, at my old family standing on the big porch. I looked up, at the windows lining the top floor, stopping my sight on a face. It was Luke. I watched as his eyes widened, and he dashed to his dresser, coming back with a piece of loose leaf. It was a sign. “Goodbye, Ginny, I’ll miss you!” It said in bolded blocky lettering. One tear slid down my cheek as we pulled away. “Which room is mine?” I asked, eager. From the outside this house was big. The inside, huge. “Upstairs, first on your right,” Roger said, chuckling at my eager face as I grabbed my suitcase and dashed upstairs. I poked my head into the room, seeing black and red walls, and a huge bed. There was a balcony next to a desk with a Mac computer on it. This was amazing. There was also a walk-in closet, my own bathroom, and a bookshelf, stuffed with books. This was heaven. I unpacked my things into the dresser drawers, which consisted of three pairs of jeans, two sweatshirts, and six shirts. I placed my guitar case carefully in the corner, when I heard Roger yell. It was dinnertime. I skipped downstairs, ready to start my new life. moreOpen Question: How can i write a song?
It's really hard for me to do rhyming. But i got a new book, and i want to write songs. the problem is, i don't know how to write a song, what should it be about? I thought about listening to some songs like Lady Gaga, but i don't like her lyrics (no offense to people who like her). I don't know how to start a song, because i don't have a beat either. If you listen to singers' songs (Acapella) then it sounds really cool, cause all the music is gone and you can just hear their voice. Any tips on writing songs? P.S. i am also learning the electric guitar (i've had 5 lessons so far) and im thinking if i could use my guitar as well. P.S. i'm not a Taylor swift wannabe. I'm not a wannabe, period. Thank you. Your help and kindness will be rewarded. P.S. i tried listening to MJ and his lyrics, WOW how does he think of songs!!!!!! 0_0 He was ONE amazing guy. moreOpen Question: Is it possible to learn guitar and piano at the same time without a teacher?
I just started learning how to play some songs on guitar (by YouTube tutorials) but I also really like piano, I have a begginner book and I have learned how to play some songs out of it (it wasn't that hard cuz I already knew how to read music cuz I used to play clarinet and oboe) but it seemed like everyone says piano is harder than guitar but for me it has been opposite, is that just because I'm a begginner? Also I want to take guitar lessons this summer, but I also wanna learn piano, would it be too much to learn them both at the same time? Could I possibly self-teach myself one of them? If so which one? moreVoting Question: Best way to learn piano without a teacher?
I am 14 and I really want to learn to play the piano, but I can't afford a teacher. I don't think it will matter though because I am grade 6 clarinet, grade 4 classical guitar and grade 5 theory. Could anyone recommend a book or something? A book would probably be the best for me as I don't get internet access in my own home. moreVoting Question: When learning bass guitar is it better to learn from a teacher or to learn from books?

I already know a lot of theory. I know about scales, modes, chord progressions, and more. so i'd like something more advanced. i play piano, trombone, and guitar. right now i have a jazz theory book, but i'd like something that covers more classical and other types of music. among other things, i'd like to learn more about chord resolution (besides that V to I is the strongest resolution) and chord leading and adding harmonies to melody lines. basically, i'd like to have all the material at my hands to help me compose good, sophisticated songs. moreVoting Question: what Book do u recomend for someone to read to learn to play electric guitar?

I learned how to read music in school as a little kid and taught myself to play piano (I'm pretty good) a couple years back. I can play a little bass guitar, but not as much as piano, and now I'm seriously considering learning to play banjo. My question is, as a near-complete beginner in the realm of stringed instruments, will I be able to teach myself to play banjo? I'm a pretty smart guy, so I think I could understand the mechanics of it, and, as I said, I taught myself to play piano a couple years ago and have grown quite proficient in it, so I know I have the ability, patience, and discipline to teach myself a new instrument. And I'm also pretty good with music in general. I'm just looking for a knowledgeable third party's thoughts on this, so what's your honest opinion? Also, if you do feel I can learn it, can you recommend any good starting banjos or beginner's banjo kits/books? Preferably ones that I can find online for a relatively low price (I'm just doing it for fun, I don't want to spend a fortune) that are still of acceptable quality? I know that's a lot to ask, but I really could use some help on this one. Thank you. moreVoting Question: left or right handed guitar?
now i know this is a question that is asked a lot.. but i want to hear from a person who is left handed person's perspective and plays a guitar, if that's possible or a really experienced guitarist.. i am left handed btw.. i have been playing the guitar right handed now for just about 7-8 months now and i have read a lot of left handers opinion on the internet saying that if they can go back and re-learn the guitar that they would play lefty and these are people who have played for 20+ years.. this caused me to think that i should switch to a lefty while i still have the chance.. i have also read that leftys that play right handed later in experience of playing the guitar, face an obstacle that is hard to overcome, basically that they can no longer go passed that level of skill. and that kinda scared me.. now i know that a left handed guitar are much more expensive and harder to get, but cost or how hard it is to get isnt the issue here, thats why the internets here for.. and i know that i would have to carry my own guitar around if i wanted to play, since guitar players that play left are hard to find.. and i especially know that there is no such thing as a guitar book or tabs that is made for a right handed perspective, thats like saying there a book for left handers to play the piano.. and last thing i know that my left hand will have more strength and dexterity to play complex chords because thats my strong hand.. what do you guys think?? is there like a way you can tell if i should really be playing the left or right handed guitar?? besides that fact that which ever way feels the most comfortable for me?? they both feel comfortable to me.. i can pick faster with my left hand than my right even though i practiced picking with my right hand.. but i can finger pick really really good with my right hand and i cant finger pick with my left.. i clap like a right hander: left hand still and right hand doing the clapping.. i arm wrestle better with my right for some unknown reason and somewhat stronger grip as well.. i drive with my right arm steering the wheel, i cant drive with my left arm.. i open bottle tops with my right hand most of the time.. and the rest pretty much i use my left side: dribbling ball, kicking, strong punch, scissors, cutting/holding knife, writing, etc. moreResolved Question: how can i learn guitar tabs to unknown/indie artists?
I have always loved to sing. I have taken guitar lessons for about 5 years but hit a dead end because i just wasn't recieveing what i craved for in music anymore. i have been trying to cover a bunch of my favorite artist to gain inspiration but, being indie bands, their music is not tracable via internet or music books. i am becoming increasingly frustrated that i can't figure out what notes they are playing on the guitar. does anyone have suggestions for how i can learn the tabs?? i have tried by ear and can figure out simple chords and strumming patterns but have trouble with fingerpicking patterns. any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! thanks so much!! :) moreResolved Question: Odd time signatures books?
Are there any good books on how to learn odd time signatures for guitar or keyboard? moreVoting Question: I want to learn to play acoustic guitar, what is the best way to start.?
I know nothing about reading music or anything related to music ie notes etc... Would I have to learn about music first then pick an instrument or can I learn guitar at the same time as they explain about notes etc... Any recommendations on a site or book that is good. moreResolved Question: Should I play the Viola or the Piano?
Ok, my dream is to get into Juilliard when I grow up. I'm 13 years old, turning 14 in a month..I play the guitar (fingerstyle) and I'm REALLY good at it, I compose sheet music for the guitar. I use my keyboard to identify the notes, and I write them down. It looks really cool, but difficult looking sheet music. I love listening to the violin. It, along with the cello and viola remind me of the 18th Century. I really am fascinated with the 18th Century, and the sound of the violin or the cello, viola really pleases me. I also LOVE the piano, I love listening to it. Beethoven, Handel, Bach, I love the piano. I can play small parts of pieces by bach, beethoven, on the piano. I've only been playing for about a month. This really impresses people, and the piano is my favorite instrument to play, I love it. It makes me happy. As for the viola, the guy at the Sam Ash music store in Countryside claimed that I have a natural talent for String instruments. That I have a gift. and as said before, I love string instruments, it really reminds me of the 18th Century, I love the sound of it, and I'd really like to learn how to play the viola. I also heard, that theres a much better chance of getting into Juilliard if I learn the viola, since they do not have many viola players. I can't decide! The keyboard that I want to get 88 keys is $1,000+, and the viola I want with the book and new strings comes to a total of $271. What instrument do you think I should play? moreVoting Question: Learning Italian And Welsh-Looking For Friends To Practice With?

When Charles calmed down from crying, we went to the park. We took my guitar so that we could play some songs in my book. Charles sung me a song that he had written on the plane. “During past relationships, nothing has been right. Are the stars out tonight?” he strummed on my guitar. “In my relationships, I just feel like I'm a child,” his voice rung in the air. “Until then,” he paused. People were passing by, some smiling, recognizing their former classmate. Some sat on the grass across from us and they listened carefully. “I love how much you care. Your body, beautiful smile, and hair,” he looked at me instead of his fans. “I loved it when things were normal and we could just hang out. That was all I was thinking about.” His eyes were soft as he stared into mine. My heart raced as I listened to the crowd whispered with excitement. “The perfect date will be when we're alone. To me, I can only hope that we can be together, forever,” his eyes were so beautiful. I couldn’t help but scoot closer to him. “I love how much you care, how you're always there. I love it when things were normal and we could just hang out. That was all I was thinking about,” he strummed the guitar a few more times. “Wow,” I whispered. Was he in love with me? Did he write that song for me? I thought. He had written in on his way to see me. “Do you like it?” he smiled. I nodded and looked down at my hands, he touched my hand and held it gently in his own. My face heated up and my heart beat faster. I looked up and Charles looked concerned. I tried to calm my shallow breathing and swallowed. “You okay?” he touched my cheek and I immediately flamed up again. He pulled his hand away and stared into my eyes. I shook my head and looked away. “Of course,” I got up. Charles stood up too and hugged me to his chest. I buried my face in his shirt as he squeezed my shoulders. “Come on,” he led me away from his fans. They were staring at us, surprise in their eyes. We went back to my house and talked about his tour. “I don’t want you to leave,” I mumbled. “I don’t want to leave either, but I have to in order to keep my career going,” he frowned. “Can’t you just say no?” I suggested. “Yes, but then I’d get fired,” he chuckled. I scooted closer to him and hugged him, he hugged me back and rubbed my back soothingly. I buried my face in his chest. We had always been close, since the day I went to the after school picnic. We were going to eat and look at stars. In our classes, we were learning about planets and stars and stuff. “Remember the night we met?” I smiled and looked up. He was smiling too. He loved that memory as much as I did. “Yeah,” he sat up. “We were both looking out of the same telescope and we started talking. We loved astronomy when we were ten.” His eyes were soft as he regarded me. He leaned down and my heart stopped. Was he going to kiss me? My breathing quickened as his lips came closer. The door opened and I jumped away. My mom was there with milk and cookies, Charles’s favorite. “Hey kids,” she smiled and looked at a stunned Charles. He shook his head and sat up. “You okay?” I whispered as I touched his arm and leaned closer. He nodded and looked over at Mom. “Hi Mrs. Jackson,” he smiled politely. I pulled my knees up to my chest and waited for Mom to say something back. “Hello Charles. How was your flight over here?” she looked suspicious. “Fine,” he said a little too quickly. I patted his hand and rolled my eyes. We were going to kiss and Mom just had to interrupt. She put the food on my desk and hurried off. Charles got up and tripped over one of my many water bottles filled with vodka. He lifted the bottle and unscrewed the top. I jumped up, hoping he wouldn’t know about the drinking. He turned to me, the bottle high in the air. “You were drinking?” he put the bottle down and held my shoulders. “What’s your problem?” he shook me. “I missed you, and alcohol helped with the pain,” my tears slid down my cheeks. He hugged me to his chest, his arms shaking but strong. I sobbed into his shoulder, apologizing over and over again. He stroked my hair eagerly. My tears were slowing and he was calming down. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “It’s okay. Just, no more drinking, okay?” he held my forearms tightly. I nodded and leaned closer to him. He shook his head and turned away from me. “I have to go,” he turned towards the door. “No,” I sobbed. He turned back to me and pulled me into his arms again. Life was taking a turn for the worst. I buried my face in his chest, more tears coming. “It’s okay, it’s okay. I won’t go,” he rubbed my back gently, then harder. “I’m really sorry,” I mumbled against his shirt. “It’s alright.” moreResolved Question: What your opinion on what I should do?
I've been writing lyrics since I was 14 or 15 and I have the music for the lyrics stuck in my head wheneve I sing my songs, I never really paid much attention to it, but then I started writing more and more songs and I started wondering if maybe I should be a musician. I don't think I can sing but my friends all say I can, even the friend who was in Chior and gets solos, so I sang a few around my sister and she thinks they're real songs, but I have no way of playing the songs since the music for almost every one involves the acoustic guitar. I continued writing songs, and I still do today, but a few months ago I started feeling bored. I was so unhappy with being in college, taking classes I never wanted to take and learning things I will never use in my life. I was so depressed and frustrated. Then last month this voice popped in my head saying buy an acoustic guitar. Now I had thought about it in the past, but this voice never told me to do it before when I was thinking about getting one and when I thought about it, it made perfect sense. Since I'm in college on a grant or whatever, the extra money left over goes into a bank account, so I have around 2000 just sitting there since I already had the books for my classes. I have the time to sit down and learn to play since my schedule for college is pretty spreaded. I know I can dedicate myself to it, because anything I do involves music in some way, shape or form. My mom always tells me that I should do something I love and I've loved music for as long as I can remember. I would ask friends if I should carry out this though, but they'd say yes by default, so want complete strangers opinons. Should I listen to the little voice inside my head, buy the acoustic guitar and learn to play, or should I forget it and stick with college? moreVoting Question: What instrument should I take lessons for next?
I'm taking drum lesson right now, at "Sabado's school of music" and I'm in a band where I both drum and sing. I'm trying to compose all the music for every instrument, and the instruments in the band right now are guitar, bass, and drums. We're hoping to get keyboardist, then a brass instrument (like trumpet or saxophone), and when we record the guitarist overdubs so there are 2 guitars and we're going to get a second guitarist for live shows soon. I'm getting pretty advanced with drums, I know guitar chords, and I know basically how to make a bass rhythm out of root notes, but I don't know anything about single note melodies with guitar or bass. I own a drum set (but it needs to be fixed up, its kind of destroyed right now), a piano, and an acoustic guitar. Next year is my sophomore year of high school and they offer guitar lessons as an elective, so I'm taking it, but I don't know exactly how much they'll teach me and if I should get serious lessons. Bass is my favorite instrument and is really fun, but isn't as useful right now for composing especially since I don't own and can't afford a bass. When I can afford and have time for more lessons for another instrument, which instrument should I choose? Guitar --Pros: I own a guitar, I understand it, and I can compose with it --Cons: I'm already going to take a class on it next year anyway, so it may be a waste, (although I don't know how much the class will teach me) Piano --Pros: One of the best instruments to compose with, due to the grand staff and how easy it is to do both a melody and rhythm --Cons: I already have a book on piano chords and scales, lessons could be a waste Vocals --Pros: My voice could really use lessons, I'm kind of a horrible singer --Cons: They might only tell me stuff I've already learned from books and the internet Bass --Pros: My favorite instrument, really fun to play, and I'd like our songs to have more bass-melody instead of just rhythm --Cons: I don't own a bass and lessons wouldn't really be that useful Trumpet or Saxophone --Pros: This way when we get a brass instrument player, I can tell them what to play and have control over that part of every song --Cons: I don't own a trumpet or saxophone, and it isn't that useful for composing the overal song, only for composing that instrument's part Help me choose please! Sorry for the really long wall of text!I know a lot of guitar chords already. Not just the like seven essenial ones but several advanced onesand power chords, what I have trouble with is single noes and barre chords. Also, recommending thins because they'll take me farther if I play it in a band doesn't really make a difference, I already both play drums and sing in a band, I wouldn't be playing any of these other instruments in a band, I'd only use them to compose the songs for the other band members. moreResolved Question: PLEASE READ AND COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
This is the first chapter of my book. Does it move too fast? I looked up at my wall and let my eyes fill with angry tears. How could he just up and leave? He was a star now, but I missed him. Charles’s picture hung everywhere. I had to be his biggest fan. He was my best friend. He was just a pop star now. I wanted my best friend back. On the posters he was posing, sometimes with his shirt off and his awesome abs showing. My heart pounded hard every time I looked into the eyes of each of his posters. Man, was I in love with him. Charles was coming back though. He was staying for two weeks this summer. Maybe I could convince him to come home permanently. My tears spilt over and I sobbed into my pillow. A knock sounded at my door and I wiped my eyes. “Come in!” I called. The door opened and a familiar face popped in. It was Charles. I jumped off my bed and threw my arms around him. He hugged me to his chest. “Someone’s a big fan,” he put me down. His voice was deeper than it had been six months ago. He walked around my room, looking at each of the posters. “You have nearly every poster made of me,” he turned back to me and hugged me again. “I missed you,” I mumbled. “I missed you too,” he let go of me. He looked over at my guitar. “You started playing?” He smiled at me. I nodded and picked up the guitar. I sat on my bed and adjusted my fingers. “I first saw you under the stars, when I started school In Seymour,” I started strumming the guitar. “I don't tell you how I feel cause . . .” I smiled. “No one is there to help me send.” Charles sat next to me. His foot tapped to the beat and he smiled at my guitar. It was just like his. I changed chords a few times then started the chorus. “I think of you every single day, I think about you everyday. I like how you are a sweet, loving person, it's a pleasure to be sad around you,” this was true for me. This whole song was true, I loved him so much. He was the best friend I met in grade school outside the school at night. Charles was still tapping his foot, but now his hand slapped against his knee to the beat as well. “My life would be complete if we were together. When I started school In Seymour, I could only hope that we could be together. Naivety plaguing me,” I sung louder. Charles’s face was full of approval. Both of his feet tapped in unison, his hand tapped against his knee, and his other hand was resting on my shoulder. “I think of you every single day, I think about you everyday. I like how you are a sweet, loving person. A fight here or there but they weren’t that bad,” I strummed the guitar on my last chord and looked over at Charles again. “Wow,” he chuckled. I blushed and took out a small book from under my mattress. “These are my songs,” I handed it to him. He flipped through the book and smiled at me. “Wow, you wrote all of these while I was gone?” he got up and looked around my room again. “I didn’t notice a few minutes ago, but you changed your room since I was last here. Besides the posters I mean,” he looked at my bed. I had changed the covers from blue to red, one of my favorite colors. “Yeah, and I got a new desk, and added a couch in the corner,” I pointed to the couch. “Do you think you could teach me that song you were singing? I’d like to learn it,” he plopped down on my couch. I shrugged and nodded, looking into his hazel eyes. His brown hair was neatly cut, like it had been before he left. I was glad that there was one thing that didn’t change about him. I stared into his eyes for the longest time. I didn’t really notice when he got up and waved a hand in front of my face. I shook my head and blinked a few times, trying to clear my head. “You okay?” he sat down next to me again. “Yeah,” I took a deep breath. “Here, let me teach you some of the chords,” I adjusted my fingers on the strings again. “Not right now. Your graduation is tomorrow, right?” he leaned against my headboard. “Yeah,” I leaned my guitar against the wall and pulled my knees up to my chest. “Well, I have an early graduation gift for you,” he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little box. He handed it to me and I opened it. It was a little bracelet in it with my name on it. “Do you like it?” he slipped it onto my wrist. My name, Elizabeth, was carved into the silver. “I love it,” I gasped. He patted my hand and leaned back against the headboard again. We talked for a while, catching up on what he had been doing in Hollywood and what he was doing after he left. It pained me to know he was leaving in only two weeks. “You know, I’m going on a world tour when I leave. I’m going to Hollywood first to pack though, then I’m going to Italy, Japan, China, Russia, then tour around here,” he tucked his arms behind his head. “Really?” my heart hammered in my chest. I wasn’t going to see him for ages. He nodded. “Yep,” he got up and leaned against the wall. “I really don’t like being a pop star sometimes. All I want toHe nodded. “Yep,” he got up and leaned against the wall. “I really don’t like being a pop star sometimes. All I want to do is put on a few shows around the country, not go on a world tour,” he sunk to the ground. I changed the subject. “Did you ever get a girlfriend in Hollywood?” He looked up. His eyes were suddenly filled with tears. I jumped off my bed and knelt beside him. I hugged him and he hugged me back. “What’s wrong?” I pulled back. “I did have a girlfriend. She dumped me right before I came here. I told her I was excited to come here because I would get to see you, then she dumped me,” he wiped his eyes. “It’ll be okay,” I patted his shoulder. “Thanks,” he smiled. moreResolved Question: Am i being selfish if i spend more time on my career than my family ?
Hi , i've been uncertain for quite some time right now , that i love both music and arts , where both are in the entertainment industry , and i'm a working 21 year old in a film industry , and i work on weekdays , and usually when i get home after work , i spend some time to learn music , playing with my guitar , singing , and tried recording some of my vocals , since i thought of becoming an indie artist at time being , while the most efficient hours i can really get to practice my music are especially on the weekends , so even when I'm out with my family for breakfast or dinner , i'll bring with me books regarding music , so i could have all the input i need and i don't have to worry bout wasting my time even when i'm not at home , the problem is , my family would start thinking i'm spending too much time over what i like to do now rather than spending more time with them in the weekends , which makes me think that i'm in a situation where i'm putting my family aside , which is not true , because i'm trying hard now to fill up the time i have i could use for helping me out in the future , but does this makes me a selfish person in general like what my family would think about me ? I'm serious bout being an indie artist as a career in the future , and i certainly do not wish to waste any single second when i could use those seconds to slowly build my stairs and make that dream come true , need some opinion on this , thanks ! :) moreResolved Question: Which type of acoustic guitar brand should i opt for??

I have decided to try playing the guitar. I found an old acoustic in the closet, along with several picks and a teach-yourself book. I tried to tune it with an old piano we have downstairs, but one of the strings broke. I am bringing it to a music shop later tomorrow, but what kind of questions should I ask and what do you suggest in order to get started? moreResolved Question: Just me i guess..sorry im just bored im not really asking a question.?
ok. hi. My name is......well...lets just call me Doodle. That's what my friends call me. I am 16 years old. My birthday is Oct. 11 1993. I guess you could say im your average teenage girl in high school..well...with your average teenage girl in high school problems. Grades, Boyfriends, Friends, classes, just drama and trying to please my mama when i get home. Now i know you didn't open this question just to read my boring sob story. So if your bored already just turn around and go back and go answer someones Else question. seeing as im not asking a question. Still here? well ok ill continue. Now where was i? oh yeah...well my high school is like every ones Else's. You got your jocks, cheerleader (all look the same btw. blonds and brunets and stick thin with big boobs and butts) yes i i have issues with myself and how i look so i talk about pretty girls. get over it. Now where was i again? oh yes and you have your all A's students that are like a walking computer. you got your stoners and drunks, your musicians who either really suck or are actually unbelievably good. you got your anime freaks, your twilight fans, your skater and scene kids. we don't have goth or emo anymore. they just kind of jumped together, you also got your tech freaks (those guys/girls that have the best cell phones and music players around), your best dressed, class clowns, bad asses, and weirdos. Now where i fit in all this..i have no clue. i kinda float among them all. i love music and i live in a music family but im too lazy to learn an instrument. Im not the worst stoner but i will smoke if i want it. I read the twilight books but didn't see the movies...book was pretty good but it killed the name of vampires everywhere. Im kind of weird cause i like scary movies and i think jason vorhees is the best thing since french toast. im a horror movie bad guy freak. love'em. and i liked anime as a kid and i learned how to draw that stuff in middle school so i sometimes draw it now. Im random and dress weird all the time. Im just kinda stuck with this high school hell. everyday is drama. everyday my friend either get in a fight, get broken hearted, get thrown in jail, or worse. it never ends. I just recently got a boyfriend. His name is...well i call him Bunny. long story just a big joke really. Well me and Bunny have been dating for going on 10 months this 18th. yay us! well Bunny is a blend of a stoner guitar guy. He is very sweet in his own way. No hes not one of those guys that shows his love in an obvious way. He has his own weird way of showing it...like when im with his guy friends he had to put his arms around me. when im sad he likes to act like he is sucking my brains out through my ear. he makes me laugh and i cant help but smile when he is around. I cant say that we will last forever and i wont. But im happy where i am and i wont worry bout the future yet. My boyfriend may be sweet but he can be a jerk sometimes and trust me im no angel either when we both get mad. I hate when we fight cause usually its my fault cause i over react and always jump to conclusions. i cant tell u how many times i jumped on Bunny cause i accused him of cheating or lying or wanting to leave me. But its just me being paranoid. You see my mother has been through many a relationship and sometimes i make her same mistakes. So i try to think things through and not just resort to the..all guys are cheating lying pigs theory. There are some good ones out there. I really don't know why im writing this. Im just alone at home with nothing to do. I miss Bunny and i wish there was something better to eat that instant Ramen. but hey, beggars cant be choosers. If you have managed to stick around this long for this boring story with no pint or question i want to thank you. You truly are as bored as i am. Well im going to end this because iv ran out of things to say and this has helped my loneliness. So thank you yahoo! and thank you readers if you truly have stayed with me this long. if not...well thanks for trying. Gtg. muah. good night dear internet browsers! moreResolved Question: What is the best way to learn to play the guitar?

I started in May, and I am doing my debut in May this year. My teacher says that I will do grade one in December and then grade two in May next year. She says she thinks I will be ready for it, seeing as I am a fast learner, I practice non-stop, and I have a David Bowie guitar book which is advanced, and I can play it, although it does take me a while to learn each song... do you think I will be ready for grade two so soon? I have just realised that I can play barre chords.... Thanks in advance :) moreResolved Question: Time with spouse vs. time alone--what is fair?
My wife and I are in our late 20's. We have been married for 2.5 years. We have been through many arguments, but we have also had many wonderful moments--which I gather is normal. We moved to a new place for my job, so we don't know very many people here. My wife works 15 hours a week to help support our finances a little bit, but for the most part, she's at home. She is diligent, does all the chores, bills, cooks, and cleans. Since it's just the two of us, it's not much--but I still appreciate it. She manages to find time to read online articles, keep in touch with friends and family. She is telling me about a wonderful book she is reading right now; she goes shopping for gifts, does arts and crafts such as scrapbooking, finds ways to decorate our place, etc (while I'm at work). I appreciate the things she does, but in a way, I am envious. I don't remember the last time I was able to read a book. I have voiced to her interest in learning new hobbies. I am particularly interested in learning guitar, writing short stories, learning how to program flash games, martial arts. She tells me she supports me, but whenever I tell her I need alone time in these endeavors, she becomes defensive--claiming that I don't want to spend time with her, or that I long to be single again. We spend entire weekends together. I promised her, happily, when we married, I would take her out on a date every Saturday--or if we don't go out, we'd spend time together in some form. I continue to keep my word. She suggested a new tradition on Sundays--we cook breakfast together. She likes to sleep in on weekends, but I, being a morning person, wake up early. So I try to do 'me things' in the morning when I'm not too exhausted, but she expects me to spend time with her when she wakes up till she sleeps (which means staying up late--being awake for nearly 24 hours on some occasions, or getting 3-4 hours of sleep before waking up for work the next day). I try so hard and I really do enjoy spending time with her, but after doing weekly chores and getting ready for the next week, the weekend is over. I want to find activities that challenge me mentally, push my physical limits, or tap into my creative / artistic mindset. If I push the issue enough, it always becomes an argument--I then get my time to do things alone, but it's hard to do creative writing right after fighting with my wife. It's hard to play guitar when my wife, in mockery, is bitterly and blatantly ignoring me for my 1-2 hours. I suppose the conflict could push me to run an extra mile (jk). I have told her on many occasions that when we spend time together, I have always shown a good attitude about what she enjoys, but she always abhors what I enjoy when it doesn't pertain to her likes. For example, I have watched all seasons of Sex and the City with her (every episode, including the movie). I have asked her to purchase an adventure video game that we can both take turns playing, unfolding a story interactively--she declines, saying she doesn't enjoy video games. For me, I didn't watch TV, by choice, for an entire decade. When discussing time together and time apart, what standards are fair, generally speaking? What have you and your spouse done that worked well for you? What have you done that backfired or did not work well? Is there a good book about this aspect of marriage? moreResolved Question: What is the best guitar for a beginner?
I am really interested in learning to play the guitar! I was wondering what good beginner acoustic guitars were available and the best brands to get for your money? I mean, I know two songs all in all and I began playing 3 months ago and merely turned seventeen...
