Open Question: What is the easiest Evanescence song to play on guitar?
I wanted to learn how to play an Evanescence song on electric guitar. I also wanted to know which song is the easiest to play (in your opinion). If you could put more than one song it would be great. Otherwise, one song is great, too =] Thank You. moreOpen Question: Any easy blues rock songs for guitar? Or exercises for stretching fingers?
I am looking for exercises to make my fingers longer/stretchier/stronger. I am also Looking for songs not that easy, more like novice, preferably not one with a lot of solos since I am more of a rhythm guitarist, but a little solo would be good since I AM REALLY LOOKING FOR songs that could help me stretch my fingers. Blues or Blues Rock or any genre that sounds like it is good, famous/popular songs preferably. P.S: I play for 7 months but I started only learning songs from tabs 2 months ago moreOpen Question: How easy is "Hey Jude" to play on acoustic guitar?
I'm pretty new; just finishing learning a few tough chords. "Hey Jude" is one of my all-time favorites and I would love to be able to play it. Also where is a good place to find tabs and chords other than 911Tabs (It gave me a virus). And lastly, how do I figure out the strumming pattern of songs? Thank you! moreOpen Question: good songs to play on acoustic guitar?
im a beginner, but i was wondering what some good songs are that i should learn. they can be hard or easy, and any genre, but preferably like rock, classic rock, pop-punk, acoustic rock, soft rock, alternative, in that area. what are your favorite songs to play on acoustic? moreOpen Question: What Should i do and where should i go for college???? Music Carrier or Astronomy Carrier?
Im 15 years old and i live like 60 miles from Houston Texas. i don't know what ti do for or especially where to go for college. I am pretty smart in school but im not a nerd (Im like the rocker type kid with long hair, skinny clothing, band tees, and so fowarth). i usually find myself making As and Bs but since this year,(im in the 8th grade, and i was held back a grade because i used be homeschooled), ive been struggling a bit and i am making a few Cs and have made 1 F. I find that science is the easiest subject to understand and all of science easy to memorize. (id forget to study for a big test or do the test reviews and i still get high Bs and Low As). I am good at my other subjects but i find that im good in math but i am not the type who can stay focused doing a million math problems. i find maht and history very dull and reading and language arts is just boring like the others. Also, i love Rock and Metal music (Unlike these retarded snoby rednecks). I play the guitar and have been playing guitar self tought for 1 year and really dedicated. I am trying to learn music theory and all the things i need to be able to write songs, improvise, read sheet music and all that stuff. Id really like to do a music carrier but id make more money in the science carrier like astronomy or something like that. I don't know what to do because id want to do the music carrier but i know that my dad would not (in a not angry but convincing type way) approve that idea and a astronomy carrier would make more money (unless i become a famous rockstar or something). If i choose the Music carrier, where should i go to college???? Im thinking maybe Austin Texas since it's one of the biggest music citys in the world and maybe id have a bigger chance of getting a good job in Austin. But for the astronomy carrier, i did not think of this until now but maybe Universty of Houston since it's close to Johnson space station and that my dad might mostly recomend UH since he went there for college. My heart sets closer to the music carrier but that might be hard to get into and i don't know how i would get in since my dad would not be too enthused at the idea and that i've only started learning guitar and music last year. Also, for the music carrier, what kind of jobs can i get? i want to be able to play my guitar and make songs and stuff. And what kind of jobs can i get in the Astronomy carrier??? Please give me a good and detailed answer. moreOpen Question: what is a easy song to play for guitar?
I only know 2 songs. This Land Is Your Land and Wild Thing. So I'm not the best but i want to learn an easy one. got any songs? moreResolved Question: What are some good songs for a beginner fingerstyle guitarist?
I've known a couple chords on the guitar for a long time, but have never really had time to learn properly (I also play piano and cello). Well, recently, I picked up my dad's guitar and decided to learn "Drifting" by Andy McKee. (I used some tabs I found online and a tutorial video on YouTube.) It took me three days, and now I'm hooked (haha). So, my question is, where do I go from here? I'm thinking some other fairly easy Andy McKee stuff (actually I like almost all the CandyRat artists), but I don't know where to start. Any ideas? Also, any other tips for getting started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! moreOpen Question: What is a easy song to play on guitar?
Hey i just got myself a electric guitar any body no any good easy songs for a beginner to learn? I dont no how to tune it yet but i bought it brand new in standard tunning. Any songs ? Im eager to learn my music is to hard for me to play :( ty for teh Guidence! moreResolved Question: What are some things I can do to get better at guitar?
I've been playing not quite a year and I'd say I'm okay. I can play most songs I hear -- some of the hardest songs I've learned are Under the Bridge (RHCP), Black Dog (LZ), Surf Medley (Jr. Brown), stuff like that) -- and I write my own material. But there's a lot of guitarists better then me, and I don't seem to be improving at all. What can I do to get better? I've gotten bored with learning all these songs, and it doesn't seem to be helping me. Also, when I DO feel like learning something, it feels way too easy to the point where it's boring or way to hard to the point where it feels impossible. What can I do? How do I get better at guitar? I'm willing to work. Any advice? How did people like Stevie Ray Vaughn get to where he was at? P.S. DO NOT SAY "JUST PRACTICE." What do I need to practice? What will speed it up? How do I improve fastest / just improve? (P.S.S. - I practice scales sometimes too -- I know the whole Penatonic Scale) moreResolved Question: Easy songs for my band to play (guitar, keyboard and drums)?
I play guitar We cant think of any songs that we could all learn by next week. The problem is the keyboard, not much of the music we like actually has keyboard. I'm into System of a down, metalica etc. but I'm open to playing jazzy stuff too. Any suggestions. (no epic double tapping solos please! we gotta learn it by next week)PS we can all sing :D my drummer is awesome cos he sings back up while keeping the beat. moreOpen Question: easy guitar songs to learn chords to?
hey:) im a grade 3 going for grade 4 classical guitar player, but i never really got into playing chords. but it's getting to a time now where not being able to play chords is stopping me from progressng in my guitar playing. i love acoustic players, like Brett dennen. but i also MAJORLY love never shout never! so i was wondering if anybody knew any nice easy songs i could get started with? i can play the chords, but i move from chord to chord really slowly and i think playing songs would help me get better at this! so, any easy songs i could learn? thanks(: moreOpen Question: Acoustic guitar or Classical guitar?
I'm a lead/rhythm guitarist in a metal band, and I want to take things slow and easy back downward to soft songs. I've borrowed my friend's unused Classical guitar, learned Romance De Amor, or something, i forgot the name, but the only songs I could play are metal songs on the classical guitar, although I did study the finger plucking with it, and I seem to be good at it. Now, If i were to buy a wooden guitar, should I get a steel string or a nylon string? Is the steel string also good for finger/spanish music? Is the classical guitar also good for acoustic metal songs? Although, I heard that you could play good solo-type songs on the acoustic guitar... true? I just checked out Larrivee guitar demos on youtube, and they seem cool, especially the Guitars Of Pikesville guy. Well, I don't know, i can't decide for myself.Sorry, I meant Steel-String for Acoustic and Nylon String for Classical. moreVoting Question: Easy Acoustic Love Songs?

Im a beginner guitarist and would like to learn a well known song. I have tried a bunch but have not been able to play anything so far. Can Anyone help? moreResolved Question: I've come up with the most romantic idea ever and with it I'll confess my feelings but does she feel the same?
Me and my gf have been dating for almost 7 months now. Everything is going great and she is definitely the most amazing girlfriend I've ever had hands down. I'd totally describe her but that won't exactly pinpoint how I feel about her. Before I questioned it but now I'm certain... I'm definitely falling in love with her and at this point I don't want to just randomly toss those words around. I'm afraid i'll end up ruining what we have. But i decided that life's too short and even if she doesn't love me back I'm going to tell her how I feel; what the hell might as well cause holding it in ain't easy. But the thing is I'm not just going to randomly tell her I decided I am going to do it the best way I can and make it special. SO I learned how to play 1234 by Plain White t's on my acoustic guitar and I sing and play for her on her birthday in May. I'm also gonna take her to a romantic place of course lol. I'm putting LOTS of time into learning this song for her and tell her I lvoe her through the song. Ready for the bad part? We've had this conversation about love before and well, frankly, let's just say it didn't go well. Well it did at the time because I didn't love her then and she clearly flat out told me she doesn't love me(we had this conversation around our 4th or 5th month). Now I'm in no rush like I said, I'm perfecting this song for her and everything. But now I'm confused.... What bugs me is she said that she doesn't feel that way about me but i'm honestly confused on whether or not she feels the same. I feel like she'll really appreciate the time I put into this song for her, but unfortunately I just don't know if she even feels the same. One day though i managed to spot the word "love" in her prettiest handwriting written on her inner thigh very lightly. I didn't say anything because well I thought I was just makin a big deal outta nothin. My theory is maybe she got bored and ddid it. But it was in her best handwriting that I've ever seen and... why would she take the time to randomly do that? I'm just going to tell her through the song like I said. I know she'll love it. But what scares me is the fact that she might not love me back and I'm afraid I'll lose her after I say it through the song. We will have been dating for almost 9 months when I finally do this. So yea. Do you guys think theres A possibility she loves me back? moreVoting Question: Good, easy guitar tabs?
I've got a guitar musical assessment in a few weeks, and have been given the option between two songs on the guitar to play for the teacher to demonstrate what we've learned. They're both two chord songs and are incredibly dull. I want to do something better, but I'm not exactly talented in the guitar scheme of things - would anyone be able to give me some simple tabbed songs which I could sing and play along to? moreResolved Question: What Are Some Easy Songs?
I've recently learned how to play the guitar and I was wondering if there were any easy songs to learn. I've learned Hey There Delilah. I want a song that's easy like that or just a little bit more difficult. moreResolved Question: Acoustic song?(why those this has to be 20 characters long?)?
I asked this same question yesterday in a different section and only got 1 answer. any help would be appreciated. "So I have a presentation next week in which I have to act. However, My character plays the guitar, and I'm suppose to play at least 30-40 seconds of a song before my character says a word. So my question is. Do you guys have any song in mind that would be easy to learn in a week. Don't worry I'm not a guitar newbie, just that I don't know any cool song that could be play in an acoustic guitar. I'm more of a heavy metal guy. So please any song that pops to your head, preferable if the song is not all about chords, not a super hard song but not extremely easy. Just a song with a nice melody on it. Thank you." I was thinking about Stairway to Heaven but its too slow. moreResolved Question: Acoustic song?(why does this has to be 20 characters long??)?

I've had my guitar for a while now and i haven't made any progress with learning how to play. My main problem is that i don't know where to begin. in a few months my sister is getting a bass for her birthday and I want to get a head start on learning so I can teach her as well. Hey, I JUST started guitar, a week and a half ago. I have an acoustic guitar, a Jasmine. is that brand good? my guitar strings are somewhat rusted and VERY hard to push which kinda sucks, but i researched it and i think i just need new strings if that doesn't work i will get my truss rod checked out. so far I have learned knocking on heavens door and am learning hurt by johnny cash. I also play a twelve string for better sound on knocking on heavens door, but hurt is harder on a twelve string, therefor need to replace the strings on the 6 strings, is there any tips i can get on how to take care of it? or some real easy songs on acoustic to learn after hurt? and any suggestions on the string gauge? will light be too much of an annoying sound? or will it still sound good enough to play? moreResolved Question: Easy country songs on guitar?

Maddi- Guitarist, vocals, ? Jori- Drummer, vocals Ursula- Keyboard, vocals, ? A typical band consists of a guitarist, a drummer, a singer, and a bassist... Ursula, to me, should learn how to play bass.. Since Maddi already knows guitar, she has no reason to learn bass.. and keyboard's not the most important thing in the world. And because we have no bass player, don't you think it would just seem more reasonable for Ursula to learn, rather for us to have no guitarist? I hope that made sense..... Plus, don't you always hear the guitar in a song? And most of the time, the bass? The guitar, the drums, AND the bass are really important. I'm pretty sure we'll eventually all learn bass, guitar, and drums. But, I think it's more important to have our main parts. Not all songs require a keyboard, but most songs require drums, bass, and guitar. This probably sounds like I'm babbling, but I'm trying to get across my reasoning. Maddi's still learning guitar, I mean, she knows most of it, but not ALL of it. Don't you think it would just be easier for Maddi to stay on guitar, Ursula to learn bass, and me to keep on drumming? Alsoooo... It would be harder for Maddi to learn bass because the bass is a whole different clef.... - Jori I,Ursula, think that Maddi should be the bass player. I think this because, to me, the keyboard DOES play an important role in our band. With the similarities of a bass and guitar, I think that Maddi will find it easier to play bass, rather than I having to learn the strings, and the keyboard. Like Maddi not being able to play both at the same time, I can't play keyboard and bass at the same time either. Not all of our songs will have a keyboard, but not all of our songs will have a guitar either. - Ursula HELLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… moreResolved Question: Which one sounds more reasonable?

I can play C,G,D,A,E major and A,E minor.. I want to learn playing songs now moreResolved Question: I need an uplifting guitar song.?
I need a guitar song that fits the following criteria: Uplifting easy to play and learn still sounds good without words all on a acoustic. I am doing a group project, and I will pick the one that best fits our project. Thanks moreVoting Question: What instrument should I take lessons for next?
I'm taking drum lesson right now, at "Sabado's school of music" and I'm in a band where I both drum and sing. I'm trying to compose all the music for every instrument, and the instruments in the band right now are guitar, bass, and drums. We're hoping to get keyboardist, then a brass instrument (like trumpet or saxophone), and when we record the guitarist overdubs so there are 2 guitars and we're going to get a second guitarist for live shows soon. I'm getting pretty advanced with drums, I know guitar chords, and I know basically how to make a bass rhythm out of root notes, but I don't know anything about single note melodies with guitar or bass. I own a drum set (but it needs to be fixed up, its kind of destroyed right now), a piano, and an acoustic guitar. Next year is my sophomore year of high school and they offer guitar lessons as an elective, so I'm taking it, but I don't know exactly how much they'll teach me and if I should get serious lessons. Bass is my favorite instrument and is really fun, but isn't as useful right now for composing especially since I don't own and can't afford a bass. When I can afford and have time for more lessons for another instrument, which instrument should I choose? Guitar --Pros: I own a guitar, I understand it, and I can compose with it --Cons: I'm already going to take a class on it next year anyway, so it may be a waste, (although I don't know how much the class will teach me) Piano --Pros: One of the best instruments to compose with, due to the grand staff and how easy it is to do both a melody and rhythm --Cons: I already have a book on piano chords and scales, lessons could be a waste Vocals --Pros: My voice could really use lessons, I'm kind of a horrible singer --Cons: They might only tell me stuff I've already learned from books and the internet Bass --Pros: My favorite instrument, really fun to play, and I'd like our songs to have more bass-melody instead of just rhythm --Cons: I don't own a bass and lessons wouldn't really be that useful Trumpet or Saxophone --Pros: This way when we get a brass instrument player, I can tell them what to play and have control over that part of every song --Cons: I don't own a trumpet or saxophone, and it isn't that useful for composing the overal song, only for composing that instrument's part Help me choose please! Sorry for the really long wall of text!I know a lot of guitar chords already. Not just the like seven essenial ones but several advanced onesand power chords, what I have trouble with is single noes and barre chords. Also, recommending thins because they'll take me farther if I play it in a band doesn't really make a difference, I already both play drums and sing in a band, I wouldn't be playing any of these other instruments in a band, I'd only use them to compose the songs for the other band members. moreResolved Question: Any good songs to play on piano or guitar?
I am so bored right now, and I need something to play. I play the guitar, the piano and I sing as well, so I need a song to be able to play along too with them. Please tell me some good songs to play, preferably easy ;) Thanks! I have just learnt the intro to Justin Bieber - Baby so I would like something similar to that.** just learnt the intro of Baby on piano :) moreVoting Question: Can anyone recommend a song that i can learn for my electric guitar, not too hard but not too easy?
i don't want it to be too hard to learn. I can play all the small things by blink 182, prayer for the refugee by rise against, meant to live by switchfoot and other similar songs. So something similar to these songs would help, preferably with some distortion. moreResolved Question: What are some easy heavier songs to learn on Guitar?
I really want to learn how to play a song that sounds a little on the heavy side, but not like death metal. Something like A Day to Remember or Alesana or something like that that would be simple enough for an intermediate to learn. Ten points best answer!!!!! Thanks!!!! moreResolved Question: what song should i leanr on guitar? (intermediate, rock)?
im not talking like smoke on the water easy, i play like intermediate stuff like some of the easier atreyu and bullet for my valentine songs.ive been playing for 2 years, so im not a super amazing guitar god yet. i have to learn a full song (which is hard cuz i dont remember lots of stuff well, but i can do it). i usually have my guitar drop-tuned and a droptuned song would probably sound more impressive but it doesnt have to be. and nothing with a solo, i cant so most solos. i gotta learn to play the whole thing through and sound almost as good as the band that plays it. if i can do this my dad will help me pay for my new guitar which i reallly need cuz my electric one is a peice of crap (my acoustic isnt, but i cant play in a band with that =P). please suggest some songs you think i should learn??? moreResolved Question: Which is more worth the effort? Guitar or Piano?
I've asked a question similar to this before, but I am still very unsure as to which will benefit me more in the long run. People say that if you can play the piano, you can play anything (hypothetically speaking, you wont be able to play any instrument), but they also say that piano is hard to learn, and in all honesty I found it rather easy when i started learning as a child. For guitar I find it more confusing and difficult, and I hate the sound of electric guitars unaccompanied, so I would only be able to play acoustic, but my old guitar teacher said I wouldn't have as many song opportunities for that. Also, my music teacher is a pianist, so I could easily get the lessons, we have to have a hired guitarist for lessons on that. I know piano sounds like a better option, but I'm worried to commit myself to something that I may regret. I cannot learn both, but I suppose I could learn the other once I am older. So, what seems to be a better option? Piano or Guitar? (by the way, I own a guitar, but not a proper piano/keyboard. I do own a keyboard, but it has become quite old and useless)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2P63F6Chww&feature=related At first I was almost definitely going for piano, until I heard this, which made me begin to rethink my decision. Some guitar pieces are so peaceful, but so are many piano ones. moreVoting Question: Good guitar songs for beginners?

I am working on trying to promote my singing, so I want to make good cd, and possible a video to post online, but I have never really worked with much audio recording myself. Can anyone offer some advice on good recording equipment/software that I can use. What type of mic i need, ect. I write songs, but I am in the process of learning how to play piano or guitar to sing along to them. So for the time being I would basically be singing other peoples songs. Another question, is there any easy to use software out there that I could make music for my songs on myself? I can read some sheet music, but I am more of a compose by sound kind of person.
