Learn Bass Guitar Online Lesson Questions asked
Resolved Question: Where to buy OK-quality bass guitars in Hong Kong and is this one good or not?
I'm 16, never played the bass before but I want to. Screw the fact that I'm a girl. I have a problem with budget though. I'm not big on low quality, stupid, one-use stuff. So are there any shops (particularity in Tai Po or Tsing Yi or even Mong Kok because those are the areas I stay/go to a lot) that sell bass without charging me overprice? Online auctions are okay too. But I have to admit, this is really tempting: http://hk.f2.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/b14808189 Unfortunately. 1) I don't read Chinese despite being half Hong Kong 2) I know about guitars and which stuff is good, which isn't, but I have no idea about bass. So... does this seem worth it, or is it a one-use thing? After all, it's pretty cheap, not to mention the fact that it has an amp together with it (I think). But I don't see a brand so I'm hesitating. Oh, and I've never played the bass before, it'll be my first, but I still want something that would last or that wouldn't give me a hard time in learning (I do plan to take lessons, but I plan to self-learn as well) If above is really a one-time thing, anyone who knows good shops and share them with me will be loved. Thank youI re-checked the link, I know a LITTLE chinese, so I got confused: does that auction include the bass guitar itself or just a tuner and amp? moreResolved Question: i'm 14, should i learn to play the bass guitar even though i can't have a personal teacher?
i would have to use online lessons on the internet, but im really passionate, although kinda suck since this would be my first instrument :S moreVoting Question: Where can I find some good funk (and beginner) bass lessons online?
I'd like to learn some nice funky bass lines, but can't get any good learning material in my local stores. Where can I download any good e-books, video lessons or just nice websites on this topic. Also, my cousin just got his firs bass guitar, where can I get some basic beginner material on how to play bass for him (I'd teach him myself, but we can't see each other often enough)? moreResolved Question: i have bass guitar questions?
ok just a few questions..... i want to start bass guitar and i have a few problems (note that i have no experience in playing whatsoever)! 1. my friend plays an ibanez bass guitar (the subtitle name is i think Sound check) is ibanez a good brand? can you suggest any others? 2. is it best to buy the guitar in a music shop or online like Ebay? 3. is the difference between bass and electricthat bass plays single notes and electric/acoustic plays chords 4. when i start lessons should i do real lessons or learn of youtube please don't concern money into any of these questions just give me you own personal opinions!!! much appreciated ^.^ack sorry more questions.... what's a good colour for bass guitar and can i use an electric guitar ampoh sorry also what's the difference between bass guitar and jazz bass guitar moreResolved Question: Online free piano lessons?
I've been playing the bass guitar for over 4 years. I wish to buy a decent keyboards and learn the essential piano things which will allow me to compose. Like chords, basic technique etc. Is there a good youtube channel or a website for piano lessons? moreResolved Question: Music lessons-price worth it, asking for less?
hey..i was thinking of getting bass guitar lessons to improve my playing and this person that teaches in a close by city offers 3-4 hrs for 50.00. Is that worth it? What do you look for in a good music teacher? I want to make sure I get what I am paying for. I have an idea about what I'd like to learn and he told me he could help. Is there a way I can ask him if he can go a little lower for the first lesson to see if we are a good match as teacher/student? Is it not good to ask someone if he can go a little lower? On his site, he said the classes are 45.00 but then when I talked to him online through email he upped the price to 50. Can I ask him about what happened to the 45 price and if I can go a little lower since I don't have a job now?The teacher is a student at the local university, and on the site it said he has only been teaching for 4 years....not much to me. I've been playing for longer than 4 years.....but I am asking him because I think he may have more skill that he can teach me but I don't know. Bottom line, would it hurt to ask if I can get it for cheaper than 45? I think that's too much. moreResolved Question: Is the Violin difficult to start up quickly?
Two years ago, the only instruments I could play were the trombone and I could play a few chords on the piano. Since then, I've learned to the play the Ukulele really well, the guitar, and the bass. I have been finding more and more situations that I wish I could someone who could play the violin for various reasons, but we don't have any stringed instruments at our school other than an electric guitar and bass. So I guess I'm asking, is Violin something that's extremely expensive and hard to start to play? I've heard it's difficult for children, but I'm used to holding up an instrument and using my arms to move it (the trombone). It seems like an instrument that would be expensive, but I found some beginners online for under $45, and I can pay that. My parents would be thrilled to learn that I want to try. I'm asking if it's something that requires lessons or if it's something I can learn on my own, like I did with ukulele and others. moreResolved Question: A few questions about starting a band....?
Me and my friends want to start a band. One guy plays drums, one plays bass, so far we have no one that plays guitar-I might learn if I can by teaching myself with free online lessons, then we have another kid who is getting a guitar and lessons for christmas. None of us can really sing, but if I have to sing I will, although not the best. Since the band is my brainchild, Iw ant to be a part of it. SHould I learn the guitar, sing, or manage the band? If i sing, we can replace me with someone else if found, than i can be manager...I need help!!!! moreResolved Question: Information on the bass guitar?
I am interested in learning how to play the bass. I don't know much about it other than the sound it makes. I need to buy a bass before I start the lessons I went online and was overwhelmed. There were some with 4, 5, and 6 strings. What is the best to get?? Really anything that you can tell me about the bass would be helpful, and are there any websites that could tell me lots of information?? Also do you need an amp for a bass?? Thanks any info would be nice. moreResolved Question: Printble Bass lesson book?
I want to go back to learning bass guitar, because I left after a few lessons last year. Is there anywhere online that I can find a lesson book to print off and use for free? Any webstes that give that sort of things to users would be apprecated too! Thanks moreVoting Question: Beginner Bassist, wanting to know how to play the bass at home or should i take lessons?
I used to play the guitar for about a year and a half when i was younger, i then tried out the actual orchestra bass but gave that up because i had a horrible teacher and it was huge! but i did love how it sounded. now i am back in the groove and wanting to jam, i bought a epiphone starter pack and i am wondering where i should start off. I have seen many websites and some great you tube videos that can help me, but what i need is a "foundation" of the bass so i can get jamming. should i consider lessons? or are there anything you have seen online that would be great for a real starter bassist, like notes, chords....i have no clue where to start! lol any and all tips and advise are welcome cause i need opinions on where i can start learning. most of the online stuff is ether advanced or too basic like learning the parts of the guitar. i just need to know how to start playing. moreResolved Question: Should I take bass guitar lessons or just learn on my own?
I'm planning on buying a bass guitar so I can play in my friend's bass. I've never really played an instrument except a violin like 5 years ago. I've been reading The Complete Idiot's Guide To: Playing Bass Guitar and the Squier Bass starter pack I'm thinking of getting comes with an instructional dvd. My question is should I pay the extra $70 at Best Buy for 4 lessons, get a teacher (which I really don't want to do because I'd have to waste money), or learn through books, playing by ear, and looking stuff up online. And yes I know I should learn musical notes instead of tab or both moreResolved Question: my brother lost interest in playing the drums!!?
My younger sister plays piano while I play guitar. My dad wanted my brother to try out drums, so he started taking lessons in november. At first it was really hard for him to learn since we didn't have a drum set. Then when we got one, he was doing okay. A few weeks later, he got more interested in it but not for long. He stopped playing, but continued lessons. He had football, so that stopped him a bit, but football is done. I never hear him play. It got worse when he finally felt like not going to lessons. He told me that his teacher teaches him the same thing almost every week. I think it cuz he doesn't practice. When he was interested in playing drums, he told me that he wanted to play bass guitar. At the same time since they go together. And when he told me he was losing interest in drums, he told me he really wants to play bass. It would be nice to have a bass player, but what about drums? This is bad for a few reasons. We spent 700 dollars on his kit. He is still taking lessons since November, once a week, about 20 dollars per half hour. He didn't get much out of playing the drums. Our family is having a haed time with money, and he wants a bass. So what should I do? Should he play bass? Should I take over, I know a few beats. If so, should I just look online, or take the teacher he has. And what can I do to make him more interested in it? Thanks and happy mom day! moreResolved Question: I learning Bass Guitar simple?
I currently play saxophone, percussion, clarinet and keyboard... Im thinking of taking up bass guitar in my free time so I can get with some of my buddies and jam out with them. I would like to know if I pick up a bass guitar if it would be easy to teach myself with method books and online stuff. If push comes to shove I would probably get a few private lessons. I can read notes and rhythms... Im guessing the only thing that will be new to me is learning the notes on the guitar and finger positions... I do now what to play tabs though, I want to read notes. How easy is this? (learning bass guitar) I have no interest in slap bass btw. I don't know if those are two different instruments to even begin with. : ) All the help will be great! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Bass Guitar lessons - online or with a real instructor?
I used to play bass when I was younger, but I'm a real beginner. I want to learn how to read music and really learn how to play the bass. Any suggestions for online tutorials or should I just find a real instructor locally? moreResolved Question: Where Can I Find Good Online Guitar Lessons?
Okay I've been teaching myself how to play guitar and bass for a little over half a year. There aren't any teachers anywhere near where I live. The closest would be probably over an hour away. And paying for lessons and gas would just be too much. I need to find a good course online to learn the correct way. I would like something that you get workbooks, videos, dvd/cd/downloadable lessons. Something thats more than just youtube style learning in other words not just watching a video, but I actually have a book to work with. I've looked around found one Guitar College, but I'm not too sure about it. If someone could please recommend some other websites that would be fantastic. To sum it up I would like videos with a teacher and also a workbook of some sort to play along with, a visual. I'm not good with just buying a "how to play guitar" books either I get more off of youtube than those books. Sorry for the long explanation... :/ Thanks for any suggestions! :D moreResolved Question: BASS GUITAR: Where do you find the best starter kits?
One of the new things I want to do for 2009 is learn how to play bass. I know the best thing to do is to look for a 'starter kit', but I don't know if I should order one online or try to find a music store. I've heard that the kit comes with everything: strings, cover bag, strap, practice amp and cords and even some free lessons on DVD with some kits. But how do you know what's best? And should you be looking for a certain kind of bass if you are left or right-handed? And when will you know it's time to move up from the "cheaper" bass to a more professional one? moreResolved Question: What's the easiest instrument to learn?
For a while now, I've had a pretty decent sized interest in learning to play either drums or a type of guitar(bass or acoustic), whether I take lessons or teach myself with online tutorials. Of those choices, what would you recommend for a beginner as far as learning curve and a desire to not want to quit on it? Thanks. moreResolved Question: How similiar are 4 string and 5 string bass guitars when learning?
I recently got a 5 string bass guitar and was planning on teaching myself until next year. However, I have found that most of the online lessons are for four strings. Is there must difference in the method? If so what are the main differences and is it ok to learn from one of the 4 string lessons on a 5 string? If anyone could supply a link to 5 string bass guitar online free lessons that would help. Thanks. moreVoting Question: Where can I find online piano lessons?
