It was a bit frustrating at first but after about an hour last night I can easily play a few chords. I know it's only been one hour of practice and anything new takes getting used to. But the thought of jumping from chord to chord quickly to play a song just seems crazy!! How long does it usually take to get used to going from chord to chord? Thanks a lot moreVoting Question: Is being able to play different instruments musically inclined or is it a gift?
Every since I was little I had always wanted to play the drums and was always beating on something around the house. When I finished high school I got my first set of drums I could play them with the greatest of ease, even though I'd never been behind a set of drums in my life.A few years later I picked up a guitar after someone showed me a few notes and could play it with no problem,I can even start listening to a song I want to play and in less than ten minutes I know the whole song note for note.Since then I've learned to play the bass and the piano(keyboards) with no help from anyone. The funny thing is I don't know any cords I play and can't read sheet music,I mean I can actually hear a note in a song and show you exactly where it is on the guitar I just don't know what it is.The thing is,other than my late grandfather who used to play the steel slide guitar no one in my family can play any instruments,so I don't know where I could have gotten this talent.I have two children and they seem like they are going to be like me.they both can already play the drums and my daughter seems to have an ear for the guitar,my son is still small and can't get his hands around the guitar neck but he can already play it a little.I have been tempted to try to pick up a violin or some other classical instrument to see if they also come as easily to play.So is this just being musically inclined or is this some kind of gift that I have. Thanks in advance for your answers.this is for Idol,I;ve never heard of the song children of bodom. It sounds like a thrash metal song, which is total garbage. The bands turn their instruments up so loud it is just noise and screaming your way through a song is not hardly singing. moreResolved Question: What are some easy acoustic guitar tabs, that would help me create my own song? or any good tab sites?

I just started playing guitar. At school my schedule changed so I came in 3 weeks after the class started, not knowing a thing or what to do! The teacher wasn't the best so i learned from another student, she was one of the best ones in the class and luckily i just happened to sit next to her! After time though i've gotten better and now im like one of the best also! So far we have learned the cords and plucking. The teacher has put on this Mac garage band video but it's really fast and kind of dumb. On it though she's shown us the blues/jazz thing and pentatonic scale. We've never done it though. Sadly the hexter is almost over and im really sad about that :( . So i decided that i really really want to continue playing outside of the classroom. Previously i had bought a guitar around 7 years ago, so it's pretty small! I practice on that one but i wish to get a bigger, newer one with cool colors or designs soon. Maybe heading to my local music store. I want to know more about it though before i go their. What are the types of guitars? Does it matter the size and other stuff? Also i don't know if my parents can get me a private teacher or somethings so any websites on stuff like that? With my guitar my goals are to be able to play really well and maybe write songs on it.
