Learn To Play Spanish Guitar Questions asked

Resolved Question: Guitar player in need!?

I would like to learn a new acoustic song that I can just play anytime. There are many acoustic songs that I like, but I want this to be something that I can kind of show off with. I don't want a Spanish song... I went through a phase where all I played was Spanish music and I now don't like it... except for one song by Muriel Anderson. Anyway, I would like it to be a fast, advanced song. If it helps, I usually play rock or punk songs on my acoustic, although, I love it when a metal band has an acoustic song. Any suggestions? more

Voting Question: Acoustic guitar or Classical guitar?

I'm a lead/rhythm guitarist in a metal band, and I want to take things slow and easy back downward to soft songs. I've borrowed my friend's unused Classical guitar, learned Romance De Amor, or something, i forgot the name, but the only songs I could play are metal songs on the classical guitar, although I did study the finger plucking with it, and I seem to be good at it. Now, If i were to buy a wooden guitar, should I get a steel string or a nylon string? Is the steel string also good for finger/spanish music? Is the classical guitar also good for acoustic metal songs? Although, I heard that you could play good solo-type songs on the acoustic guitar... true? I just checked out Larrivee guitar demos on youtube, and they seem cool, especially the Guitars Of Pikesville guy. Well, I don't know, i can't decide for myself.Sorry, I meant Steel-String for Acoustic and Nylon String for Classical. more

Voting Question: I love my family but I LOVE this surname in my family history... how do I explain it to them?

I have a really common full name. It's annoying, and embarrassing. I'm always getting lost in the crowd, and they're always trying to figure out which one I am. I don't want to hurt my family, and I don't want to be unhappy any more, I've been unhappy for almost all my life because the name really causes me a lot of emotional pain. I don't have any sense of identity and nothing to uniquely identify only me. It's really awkward, I dread being asked what my surname is. I feel like it's not even my surname. I feel like I was born with the wrong name and I was meant to have a different one. I don't feel at all like myself. I would like to change my surname. I have a valid reason... I'm a musician and no matter how talented you are, you have to stand out. Having a common super plain name is an obstacle. I don't wanna hurt my family. I don't like my first name either, but I don't wanna change the first name. It was picked out for me, whereas if I picked out a first name it would like sentimental. I did some research into my family history and I found out a couple things. One of my ancestors was from Spain (I don't know their name, they were adopted, but I can find out) and I also have Irish ancestry and another ancestor's last name was King. I think King is an Irish name, and I LOVE that last name. I think it's so classy and regal and noble. As for Spanish surnames, I LOVE Spanish surnames, even the common ones. I would like to change my surname to an ancestor's surname. I'm obviously not doing it to distance myself from my family, it came from our family history. I feel like it's a shame that we had a beautiful surname in our family history and it died out. I think it's a shame for it to just be lost forever and I'd like to take it. If I had a cool last name, like Garcia, or King, and I married a guy named, say, "Fartbomb" (no offense if that's your surname) there is no way I'd take his name. If I were simply not fond of our surname, I wouldn't do anything. I've been miserable all my life and I want to be happy and have a sense of identity. I really love my family but I've never had a sense of identity and I've been lost in the crowd all my life. I'd like to change my surname to an ancestor's name. I don't know how to explain this to them. I don't want to hurt them, but I don't want to be miserable. What if my family knew how unhappy I was? People tell me to accept the surname, learn to love it, but I've struggled to do that all my life and I can't bear it anymore. I feel like I was meant to have a pretty name. My first name (Sara) is ugly! No offense to any Saras out there. It's so plain. But I just want to change the surname. I've talked to an attorney and apparently there's a way. I just don't know what to tell my family, and I don't wanna choose between being miserable and hurting them. I really want to be a musician and I know my name is gonna be an obstacle for success. Everyone that has heard me play the guitar says that I'm phenomenal and even brutally honest people who know music tell me I have a chance at being famous... but a lot of people have told me that that full name is way too plain and generic. I knew this without being told. I want a pretty name and I want to increase my chances of being successful as a musician. I really want to change it and have a valid reason. What do I tell my family? \ I don't just want to use a stage name... it would feel strange to use a fake name. I want a name that officially belongs to me.My full name is VERY plain. It's up there with John Smith on the generic scale.Whoever said it was my only problem? I said it bugs me more

Voting Question: Questions about the movie SELENA?

Why is Selena's dad so amazed that he says "for you [Selena], the borders do not exist." 7.) Consider Selena's husband and guitar player, Chris, he was a rocker, why did he agree to play in Selena's band? why didn't Selena's dad want them together? 8.) In what ways is Selena American? Resolved Question: My dad is against my lifelong dream 100% what should I do?

Eversince I was 9, my dream was to become an artiste(a professional singer, dancer, entertainer) But my dad is 100% against it. I know coming from an asian family, we tend to get a little conservative, but alot of asians stars now-a-days are rising. And I'm 13 now. When I saw that S.Korea's Ent. Comp. like JYP/SM/YG was holding Global Auditions, I thought that this was my chance. I've been very passionate abt music since young. I started singing at 8, learned to play piano and guitar by myself by the age of 10. My mom could see how passionate I was at singing and playing musical instru. like the piano and guitar, but my dad is always very against this idea. Everytime I watch S.Korean Ent. Shows and performance, my dad will always be like:"These ppl can't study, that's why their doing this kind of jobs." i was flared! I tried to tell him that not all ppl have the same goals in life. Just because their entertainers doesn't mean they can't study? They just have different goals in life! I put up audition posters in my room, and inspirational posters to boost me up everytime I feel that I can't live my dream because of my dad. My dad expects me to become a doctor or lawyer, but I don't share the same idea as him.He thinks that all entertainers can't study and only business men and doctors can taste success in life, but I don't agree! My dad doesn't even bother to sit down and listen to me singing or playing the guitar or piano, not even once. Sometimes when I want to practice my singing, I feel that he doesn't like it when I am always into singing, dancing or playing musical instru. He expects me to study 24/7. I know that my studies is important, but they cannot be the most important thing in life. But he thinks that studies is the only most important thing in life. I know that I'll get to do what I want when I'm 18, but by then if I go for either of the S.Korean Ent. auditions, I fear it'll be too late, cause there will still be training. I pray to God every night, to help me to show my dad my true passion for music, but that day has never come. To make him happy, I've been keeping my grades up, but he shows no interest in my talents. This lifelong dream of mine is what that keeps me going now, without music, or singing, my life is nothing. My mom is a spanish descant filipino, so she does understand. But my dad is pure chinese, and he still has those 'olden days' thinking. What should I do? Should I just give up on my lifelong dream which I treasure alot, or should I just work harder to convince my dad? more

Resolved Question: Can anyone help me in choosing a college/a job that suits me?

I'm a high-school student and in about 2 years I will have to go to College. I would like to know what options I have, what jobs are available out there in the world. There are a few points that I have to consider: 1. I would prefer studying and working in Europe. 2. I can speak: English (yep, that would be my first choice) , French (a little, it can be improved but I don't really like the language) , Spanish (I can speak & write in Spanish but I wouldn't like studying in Spain ) , Romanian (my mother tongue) , Italian (just a little) and I am planning to learn German. As you can see, I'd prefer going to study in a country that has English as its official language. 3. I am mostly interested in: Arts, Psychology , Languages and I don't know what else. 4. I play the piano and I am planning to learn how to play the guitar ( in the next few months) , the violin (when I'll get one.. with my luck, probably in a few years :)) ), the harp (if I get the chance) , the African drum (I have one, I can deal with it) and I can sing (but just a little so .. I'm not planning to do that for a living) 5. I have been taking Dance lessons for a few years ( level -advanced) , I have just started Ballet this year (I'm dying for it,I absolutely love it) , I like drawing and painting (never took actual lessons) and I also enjoy decorating. 6. I am good at people. I always know what the other person is thinking, feeling. Just by looking in one's eyes I can see if he's mad, upset or happy even if that person tries to hide it from me. I am also good at advising others. 7.I am an introvert, intuitive and affective . I want to have a stabile future and I do not really know what job better suits me. It would be very easy for me to choose a college but when I think about a college at the end I'd be like "Wait..this college is great, I'd love it, I'd love the subjects.. but.. once it's over.. what am I going to do?" . I thought about the Royal Academy of Music in London.. that is just awesome. But can you live on music? :) I guess not..Norma , I WANT to go to College and I have to go to College. I think it's an important part of one's life but I just have a problem in choosing the right thing. That's all.. Thank you for your answers.. I'll be waiting for more.. more

Resolved Question: Sm Auditions 2010? What to expect?

I have so many things I want to know about the sm auditions! Okay right now im 15 going to be 16 in March. I speak english and spanish fluently because im mexican/salvadorian (but born here in the us) I also speak mandarin (currently not fluent but still learning) and I understand and speak a little Korean(mainly the basics). I also play the guitar a bit(beginners) I want to audition in LA but I want to know what to be ready for. Do we get an application there at the auditions or beforehand from somewhere else? What do they usually as you? or look for in a trainee? I saw on their website that I should prepare a song without background music but they didn't say how long the song I prepare should be. Should I introduce myself in english? or in Korean? or every language i possibly can? If I do pass how many stages do I have to go through and where will they be? What do you do at each stage? How many people get eliminated at a time? They say that your race doesn't matter but I haven't once heard of a non asian debuting in Korea so I was wondering how good my chances were of even passing the first audition? I heard you have to show a dance no matter what even if your just auditioning as a singer, is that true? So should I prepare a dance? I would really appreciate any information anyone could give me on all my questions or anything else they know. Advice needed, please help.also somewere it said "Try registering first. If you walk in to register, it’ll take longer. " were do i register? im super confused lol more

Resolved Question: How do you play Tamacun (Flamenco-Like Guitar Song)?

I want to learn how to play a song called Tamacun which is sort of like a flamenco song(If you don't know how the song sounds like Youtube has lots of videos of people doing covers). The thing about this though I have no experience with Spanish songs at all. I'm only used to using picks but this song doesn't use picks, it uses your whole hand. I don't really want to learn the melody I only want to know how to play the chords. Since I never learned how to do this type of technique I don't know what to look up so I need help on what to do exactly. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Should i be having any trouble with this at all?

I've never had to think about this till lately. my dad's Latino and my mom's African American, so my first and last name are Spanish. and I'm beginning to feel that I can't just be both. I know more about being Boricua than I do about being black, but I'm not ashamed of being black. It's just that the black side of my family lives in a different state so I haven't seem then in forever. I don't know what it means to be African American ( and I'm CERTAIN that it means more than the limiting stereotypes society has about us!) I'd like to know what it means. I love rock music. Since last year I've learned to get used to a lot of screaming. I play guitar, I have a skateboard though I've never gotten a real chance to learn to ride well, and I don't "speak ebonics". Does that mean I hate being black? no! how can I hate something I hardly know anything about? What I mean is, how do I get more intouch with both cultures? more

Resolved Question: Can someone help me!? Questions about the movie Selena?

After viewing the clips or movie, lead class in discussion about the questions of identity raised in the movie: 1. Selena's father says it is difficult to be a Mexican-American. Why does he say that? 2. Selena and her brother don't seem to be as bothered by the difficulties the father describes. Why do they not share his feelings? (This might be a good point to see if any class members do relate to the father's feelings.) 3. Selena's Spanish is seen as a potential problem for her in Mexico by her father. Has anyone else ever felt their Spanish was being judged, by anyone anywhere? Why do you think Selena was able to overcome this problem in Mexico? Why was she so popular? 4. What was easier for Selena--gaining acceptance in Chicano/Mexican/Latino/a culture or gaining acceptance in Anglo/North American culture? To what degree did she succeed in "crossing over"? 5. What accounts for Selena's huge popularity among "Tejanos," Mexican-Americans? 6. Selena's success as a singer came by singing Spanish-only Tejano music. Was this music her first love? What kind of music did she prefer as a child? How many students in the classroom have had similar experiences? 7. What reason did her father give her for learning Spanish? What was his own experience at "crossing over" into doo-wop? Who rejected him? 8. Why is Selena's father so amazed that "for you [Selena], the borders do not exist." 9. Is it true that now, more than seven years since her death, Selena really did succeed in crossing over to an English-speaking, Hollywood pop audience? Do you think she would have become as big a star in pop music as she was in Tejano music? Why or why not? 10. If possible, play the song "Technocumbia" from Selena's Greatest Hits (and also Amor Prohibido). In one of her last hit songs, Selena mixes hiphop, reggae, a brief heavy-metal lick, and Spanish. How does this mixture work within the authentic definition (sound) of Tejano music? s this the start of something new in U.S. pop music? What do you think she represents musically? 11. Also consider, Selena's husband and guitar player, Chris. Chris was a heavy metal/rock musician. Why did he agree to play in Selena's band? In what sense is the heavy metal culture Mexican-American, Chicano, Anglo? Are there aspects of culture in the U.S. which transcend these kinds of boundaries? 12. In what ways was Selena "American"? How can her Tejana/Chicana aspects also be considered "American"? From a Mexican viewpoint, what aspects of Selena's life & career are "Mexican," which are not? 13. Based on her musical and family background, how can we envision the identity construction of Selena: Norteña, Chicana, Latina, Americana, Tejana, others? 14. Are those of us in this room more like Selena in that we belong to many different cultural groups without being defined by one of them, or do we see ourselves as definitely within one or a limited range of cultural groups?First Of All Miss 6 Or Whatever. It Is Not Homework. Sec. You rather answer the freaking question or Dont. If you're not going to say something nice Then **** that dont answer! Please DONT answer questions 10,12,13 Thanks more

Resolved Question: college essay.. please read and give tips.?

this is a rough draft . i changed my name so yeah My name is Kelly kid. I am not your average student. While working hard for my grades, I have two jobs, and my only free time is spent taking a CNA course at night. My life would be on a completely different path without the guidance from my dad. He really has inspired me to do everything I have done in my life. I wouldn’t be who I am today without him. The majority of students going to college write about their parents, but my story is different. My dad died of a massive heart attack when I was in fourth grade. Following his ways of life, I learned to help people, travel the world, and keep playing music. I have lived by these three rules, and so far its working for me. I don’t really remember too many things about him. His name was Randy and everyone loved him. He always told me that a simple smile can turn someone’s day around. Watching him smile was contagious; it always brought out the best in people. Now, I smile a little too much, I laugh a little too hard, and I play around a little more than I should. It makes people happy and hopefully they will pass the joy to others. In life, I want to be a nurse. Maybe someday I will save a man’s life and his family won’t have to go through everything my family has. November 4, 2001 was the day my dad died. It is also the day I inherited his guitar. There I was, a tiny ten year old girl with a huge acoustic. That guitar will never go un-played. I can’t even tell you how many songs my sister and I have written for him. Music brings people together. I will never forget that. All of my brothers come home and listen to us play. This is also how I learned to study. Eventually I started playing piano because my mom wouldn’t let me make too much noise at night. My dad also inspires me to travel. Sean, my oldest brother, was going into the navy. We decided to go on a cruise together to Canada. Mom said it would be the last vacation with the whole family. Little did she know that it would be the last one with my dad. Everyone was so happy all together. Our problems seemed to fade away. I remember my dad giving me a piggy back ride throughout the streets. He was singing a song in French. Realizing how much languages fascinated me, I started learning Spanish. I want to travel the world, help different kinds of people, learn different languages, and study different cultures. I just wish my dad could be there with me. Every big decision I have made in my life was inspired by my dad. I miss him. Someday I hope to be remembered as greatly as he is today. I will help people, I will travel the world. And I will keep playing my music. more

Resolved Question: How should I explain my low gpa?

I'd like to go to a decent school, basically one of the top 25 or so national universities or LACs, going by us news rankings. I have great ECs, test scores (35 act, i'm also going to take the math II, bio, and spanish sat subject tests, and i plan to ace those), and my personal essay will be very good too. However, my gpa isn't that good. It's 3.02 I think. I took honors classes and it's unweighted, otherwise it would be higher. I don't want colleges to think that I won't do well. I'm going to shoot for summa cum laude. My high school was a complete joke and my gpa doesn't reflect my intelligence or work ethic. The truth is that I hated school so much, it was hard enough just getting there most days. I absolutely hated every student, class, and teacher at my high school. I wasn't exactly suicidal, but I honestly would have rather been dead than go to school. Teachers and students gave me crap because I'm atheist, liberal, vegan, refuse to stand for the pledge, etc. I was basically at a disadvantage throughout school. I was constantly lied to about honors, online, and summer courses. I was forced to drop classes to take idiotic seminar classes while other students were getting into honors classes without even applying. Our schedules are up to the discretion of our counselors, who all played favorites. Our teachers can still force people to stand for the pledge somehow, and I was not allowed to take first period classes unless I agreed to stand, depending on the teacher. I don't know if I should just say that I was too busy doing other things. I spend most of my time reading and learning about what interests me: politics, music theory and composition, religion; and playing tons of music. I play about every instrument but guitar takes up most of my time. I've learned about every style there is for it. So I guess my choices are give the real reasons, make excuses, or just not bring it up at all. What should I do?those are good points but they don't really answer what i was asking. i was just wondering if i should try to explain my gpa or not, in my applications. i don't know if they would like an explanation or not. this information isn't about college life or anything, and i'm not planning on majoring in music. more

Resolved Question: What would you label me as?

although I don't like to be labeled, i've always wondered what I would be labeled as. some people call me an emo but only a few people call me that, and I don't think I'm an emo that much. i am myself all the time, i don't try to be something i'm not. i love music and i like listening to rock and alternative music especially bands like green day, finger eleven, fall out boy and theory of a deadman, but i like lots of other types of music too - i listen to almost anything. i especially love listening to spanish music. i play guitar and i also sing and write songs and i love performing my music. i am quite sarcastic and i can make people laugh quite easily. i love bright colours and i love black aswell. i like wearing converse and jeans and band t-shirts or stripey tops. i have opinions that are often different to most peoples and most of the time i speak my mind and i'm not afraid to say if i don't agree with something. i'm also quite clever at school. i like drawing, photography, music, performing my music, listening to music, being creative, cooking, travelling to new places, relaxing, swimming, learning new languages and writing, and i don't like most sports - with the exceptions of netball, football, basketball, swimming and hockey. which label would i fit into? more

Resolved Question: What should I do? (Guitar, skateboard, arts, or what?) my life is missed up !!! ???? HELP !?

I’m a guy, I’m 19 years old, and I don’t know what do I like most, I am crazy in love with: Skateboarding, guitar, Photography, Drawing and Kathem Al Saher ( he is a Singer ), I feel like I have to focus on only one thing between all these, because skateboarding is one thing and classic guitar and music is another, we don’t usually see crazy skaters, who play classic guitar ( romance Spanish and classic stuff ), I mean it’s just not right ( I think ), and I feel I have talent in all these let’s call them skills, I’m excellent in all of them So is that normal to have all these Skills, and should I try to focus on only one skill, also I get lots of support from people who do the same skill (they don’t do it like me all the skills at one time) but yeah they talk to me like I am very good at it (the current skill, and that I shouldn’t ever stop) :S Did anyone happen with him what I am talking about right now? It’s like you don’t know what your real personality is; it’s like you don’t know how to act or to wear anymore? I feel lost! Now I start to hate my life, to feel lost, I don’t know what to study anymore! my major is business write now, but I don’t like it, I want something related to art, fine arts or graphic design would be great, I wrote this question because I live in a place where I have to friends at all, and it’s really hard to meet a girl here (I am in the gulf, life there SUCKS) Finally I want to thank everyone who read this, so thank you very very very much, and I will accept any answer you post… P.S if you feel my idea or they way I talk is not very clear, that will be because English is not my language, I’m still learning. more

Resolved Question: What career or career feild should I go into?

I don't necessarily have to be rich in my job although that would be nice, but I get really restless. I want to travel. I've been really interested in going to Japan for a while now. My personal interests and hobbies are creative writing seldomly, drawing, and playing music and composing music. I love the piano and I want to continue to learn the violin after I started a long time ago. Also I want to learn guitar and the general instruments that go into a rock band including drums, bass guitar, and the basic electric guitar. I am fluent in English, learning Japanese, semi-fluent in Spanish (España/Spain Spanish not TexMex.), and want to learn German, French, Romanian, and Mandarin Chinese as well as anything else that I become interested in sometime in the future. I am in love with music for the most part, but I don't know if I should do that for a career or not because I know it's a really hard field to be successful in and I REALLY want to travel. As in: I may go crazy if I don't travel. If anyone knows of any career feilds that could be helpful I would appreciate it greatly. I have googled, completed multiple random career tests, and discussed this topic with many of my teachers, peers, and advisors and still not found what I looking for. I'm not too into government work though it has been suggested that I learn some languages and become an interpreter or translator, I'm not sure. Would that not require me to remain in one location for a long time? more

Resolved Question: Do parents really pick favorites?

I'm thirteen and my older brother is seventeen. He's very musically talented. He plays guitar and sings. My parents are constantly asking him to play his guitar for them or sing them a song. Whenever he's making them happy or proud, he'll stare right at me, as if to say, "Look, they're proud of ME. Be jealous." He used to play baseball and I specifically remember being forced to go to every single one of his baseball games with both of my parents. He doesn't do well in school, so whenever he brings home a B or higher, my parents are always telling him how proud they are of him. I think I'm pretty musically talented. I like to sing, and I think I'm pretty good, but my parents don't really seem to notice. It's not that I sing around them all the time, they just never asked about it. I'm teaching myself how to play piano. Whenever I learn a song, I'll show my parents, but before I can get half way through the song, they'll tell me it's "very nice," and say that they're too busy to listen to the rest. I play fast pitch softball. Unlike my brother, I'm sticking with it and I've gotten really good. My parents will actually fight as to who has to take me to my game because neither of them want to go. I'm only in seventh grade, but I'm taking freshman year (high school) reading and Spanish. I'm also taking eighth grade Algebra. Every report card I bring home straight A's for my parents, but they never seem to care. They'll just say "oh, good job," and that's it. I'm so tired of being the least favorite child. I'm a pretty tough girl, but sometimes I'll find myself in tears because I'm never good enough for them. I've tried talking to my parents about it from a million different angles, but they'll just deny it and say that I'm making things up to get attention. Is there anything I can do to make them see that I'm good at things, too, they're just different from my brother? Or do I just have to stick this out until I'm 18 and can leave the house? Thank you very much for the answers. more

Resolved Question: Music is my dream but it seems impossible (read on please)?

Lately, it's just been bugging the hell out of me. What do you do if you realize that music is your dream, and that you were meant to have been a professional musician, but stupidly you didn't pursue it and now you're at a point in your life where it almost seems delusional to pursue music? I've played the guitar since I was 15, and I love it more than anything in the world. I always have, and always will. I stupidly didn't pursue music as my dream. I went to college and majored in Spanish. I don't regret learning Spanish (I LOVE Spanish and it was a GOOD decision to learn it) but I wish and wish I had studied music as well. I just had my 30th birthday and I feel like a big loser for not being established in an important, fulfilling profession. I'm wishing and wishing I'd pursued music as a career. I know it's risky but I wish that I had taken that chance. I don't have it in me to give up, but I'm not naive either. I understand just how demanding, complicated and competitive the music business is. You have to have experience, contacts, a professional degree program and hours of practice over the years. I can't think of anyone my age or older successfully initiating a career in music and I don't see how I can compete with someone who started younger than me. Perhaps I'm wrong, I'm not sure? I really screwed up, I admit, but have no idea how, or if, this can be fixed. I am so worried for my future that I cry myself to sleep at night sometimes. I'm so scared that I'll never be happy, and it's all because I'm an idiot, I admit. I can accept an honest answer, but not a mean one. I'm not sure there really is a helpful answer to this, but if you CAN help me, thank you. more

Voting Question: I'm writing a report in english about what our alter ego would be... Is this ok or to... descriptive?

I’ve hade it with him! There is so much I would like to say but I can’t! As much as I hate Damian, he is my father and I enjoy my freedom. If I say what I mean, I’ll be grounded for life. My name is Nieva Yebbara and I have the worst father in the World. Yea, all my friends say he’s cool, and I’ll admit that at times he can be. But all I can remember of my childhood is the yelling. The other 20% of good stuff never overruled the bad I guess. Damian Yebarra is my father. He is a dentist, and an ass hole all in one. All my life I’ve hade social problems. I was bullied at school ever since kindergarten. That’s the main reason I moved to another high school in grade 10, but he never did a thing about the problems. It was always about him. And then now that I‘ve stopped having problems he still doesn’t give a crap. Mi madre y hermana están muertos (My first language is Spanish.). They died when I was 13. They where on there way home, my mom hade to pick up Damita from soccer. They got in a car accident and never made it. So now I live with my father. Talk about lifetime punishment. Mi Abuela lives with us to. She has been with us since my mom and sister passed away. So as for school. I go to a English high school. Its really a great school, but my father wants me to take the Spanish class instead of French. I want to take French. I went to France a couple summers ago with my class as an exchange. I loved it, but I didn’t understand it. French is a beautiful language, so I want to learn it. Anyway we mostly speak Spanish at home. Damian wouldn’t of been my first choice for a father, but we cant choose so I’m stuck with him, sadly. “ Nieva Yebarra?” The teacher called out with an English accent so it sounds like some type of energy food/water. “Here” I called out from my seat in the back corner of the class. My dad and I hade to move again. This is our 7th move since my mom and Damita died. So I was the new kid once again. Even in grade 10. There weren’t that many people in my class maybe 20, 25 at the most. Math, then English, then gym, after lunch was. Science, Art/Home Ec./shop, then French. I was now in Shop class. We didn’t really get a choice, but I’m glad I got shop. There where 3 girls in this class. There was me of course and there was a bleach blond sitting directing in the center of the class, surrounded by almost all the guys except one, the cutes one wasn’t even looking at her, he was looking at… Me?? And then there was a brunette in the corner, glasses and paying to much attention to the teacher, taking notes about every single word he says. Back to the guy who was looking at me. I wasn’t really a “looker” but that’s my opinion, but I can guess its my smoky Latina looks. Sandy brown long hair, deep brown eyes, and tanned skin. But he was way more gorgeous then I am. His copper/ blond hair is in a messy up do and makes him look very sexy! He has brown eyes that go with his hair, and is very muscular, but in a good way not like Hulk Hogan. He was beautiful. After class I was heading out the door the get to French my favourite class of the day. I was at the door when some jerk ran passed ma and all my stuff feel out of my bag and onto the floor. I knelt down to try and pick up my stuff, when someone tripped over my textbook. “¡lo siento” I Shouted out while catching the person who fell. It was the guy who was looking at me earlier in the class. The gorgeous one! “No, no, no its ok! I’m ok!” He said while straightening himself up and then knelling down beside me to help my pick up my stuff. I had gathered everything except my guitar pick. I looked around but I couldn’t see. Then there was a hand in front of me holding the guitar pick out to me. I reached and grabbed it but as I grabbed it the hand held mine and pulled my up off the floor. “So, you play the guitar now ” He asked me while finally giving me my pick back. “Si” I answered him while picking up my bag and putting the pick in the side pocket of my jacket not know why he said “now”. “ That’s ’yes’. I’m taking Spanish class, but I‘m terrible. That where I am heading to now actually, shall we walk together?” He asked me. I didn’t want to hurt him so I smiled and nodded, but when we made it the door of the French class I stopped. “ I’m actually taking French. So I guess I’ll see you later” But as I was heading into the class, he grabbed my forearm and pulled my back so I was only an inch away from him. “You really don’t remember me do you?” He asked while staring into my eyes. I tried to think but I honestly didn’t remember him, he must have the wrong girl. I shook my head. He grabbed my shoulders and said. “ Its me Dimitri Johns” Then it hit me. Dimitri Johns Had been my boyfriend back in South Dakota 2 years ago(just one of the many places I’ve lived). We had to break up when I left but we didn’t want to at all. We liked each other a lot it was really hard on both of us when I had to leave. I haven’t had a bo more

Resolved Question: Help choosing school clubs...?

Alright. I'm a freshman in high school this year, and I'm always hearing that it's really great to get involved with clubs. Problem is, I can't choose! I don't do any sports that would interfere, but I am an honors and AP student, so I get a lot of homework, which is my primary obligation. So, I feel that three (maybe four if I really can't decide) clubs (each once a week) would be sufficient. I already know two of the clubs that I'm going to take (guitar club and sign language), but I have 8 that I can't choose from. Help me out? ASTRONOMY CLUB: Learn about stars and constellations BETA CLUB: Service honors society for students who commit to helping others CHESS CLUB: Students learn the basics of chess or master strategic moves while playing against other students and faculty in tournaments. EURO CHALLENGE: Academic challenge team that focuses on current events and history OUTDOOR EDUCATION CLUB: Promotes and encourages the management and conservation of our natural resources by working on service projects and taking adventurous trips in the outdoors. PROLOGUE: Student members create the art and literary magazine, Prologue, while working on creative writing and editing skills. SPANISH CLUB: Club members learn about language and culture through social activities. WOOD TECHNOLOGY CLUB: The Wood Tech Club is open to all students of all abilities. The club provides students an opportunity to explore woodworking techniques beyond the basic school curriculum. more

Resolved Question: How to Learn Spanish?

My dad wants to larn spainish and asked if we wanted to also. I said yes so...Doesn't matter why. I do know some, Like: "No.I don't speak english.I don't speak spanish. How are you.Do you speak spanish. Do you speak english.Very good.Yes. One.Two.Three." Just basic stuff. We aren't looking to learn spanish like we are moving to Mexico, just as somthing cool to know. Sort of like learning guitar so you can play simple songs. Please, no answers like: "Move somewhere they speak it a lot." "Google it." And I would like answers from people who have actually learned the language. We are willing to spend money. Tips are good too. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: i want to learn how to play the guitar?

okay sooo i have always wanted to play the guitar and for my 15 birthday coming up in september i asked my parents what they thought about me getting an acustic ( or however you spell that ) but i have NO IDEA what i will need besides the guitar. could someone give me a list on what i would need so that i dont totally look like a whale trying to ride a hippo ? im pretty sure i can learn to play on my own because learning different languages doesnt really work for me :P and yes i consider reading music a different language :P although i took 3 years of piano lessons i cant read music and eventually quit and learned to play on my own. plus i took spanish for 4 years and still cant speak a word so im pretty sure by now that im self sufficent when it comes to things like that people just cant teach me i have to learn on my own :P more
