Voting Question: What kind of electric guitar/bass should i learn to play?
Last summer I got a new guitar from my Uncle. I don't want to sound ungrateful for this gift but somehow it just doesn't seem to be the "right" guitar for me.... Its a Brownsville New York guitar which isn't known to be the best company ever, but ive been told its a very nice guitar considering the brands low quality reputation. I agree but I didn't get the immediately 'this feels right' when I picked it up. So I've talked to my dad and we're seeing about getting me a nice instrument. I'm starting to think about a bass guitar (that's what he played) but there's so many options to choose from with all the different guitars basses and combinations thereof. So what would you recommend to me? But to help you get in to more detail: 1) I want something electric 2) Although what I am looking a right now is just the type of instrument, brand names are helpful 3) I'm aiming for something good for rock music, but something that can easily change style would be very handy for expanding techniques and playing 4) I'm looking for quality, too. Something with good tone quality and exceptional overall. I know we might be looking at something pricy but I guess you get what you pay for. moreResolved Question: i cant make up my mind...?

******************I'm not looking for opinions on the writing, I no this is an armature script I just want feedback on the formatting or anything you see that is wrong making it unsuitable to submit to a director. (In the one on my word document the character names are all centered and everything) so I don’t want a comment on that being wrong but for example the first scene has a lot of smash cuts,, was there a better way to write down that it was flipping between two scenes or was writing smash cut for every change ok?? I no I’m not going to get a lot of answers but for anyone who takes the time to do this,, if anyone,, thank you!! SOMETHING BLUE Written By ----------------------- Adopted from the novel by Emily Griffin CREDITS OVER: A BABIES FACE FILLS THE FRAME -- Wide eyed, a baby girl stares up from a carriage, the commotion of a lively baby shower slowly being revealed as the camera pulls back… DARCY (V.O) “I was born Beautiful. A C-section baby--” SMASH TO: EXT. A CROWDED STREET -- AFTERNOON Darcy walks purposely, hands in pockets, heals clanking on the pavement, face covered in a scarf and sun glasses, she calls a taxi… DARCY (V.O) “--I started out life right by avoiding the misshapen head and battle scars that come with being forced through a birth canal.” CLOSE UP OF DARSY’S FACE as she pays for the taxi. SMASH TO: The Baby STARING UP from the carriage as larger portions of the party/shower is revealed. (A laughing woman holding a wine glass flickers in and out of the scene)… SMASH TO: TAXI PULLING AROUND A CORNER, Darcy looks out the window, face still crowded in sunglasses and a scarf. DARCY (V.O) “Instead I immerged with a dainty nose, bow-shaped lips, distinctive eyebrows, and just the right amount of fuzz covering my crown.” SMASH TO: Baby Darcy STARING UP from the carriage, eyes drifting over to a piece of falling tissue paper whilst being lifted out of the carriage and admired by surrounding figures. SMASH TO: DARCY EXCITING THE TAXI, thanking the driver, walking up the front steps of a New York flat and ringing the doorbell. DARCY (V.O) “And so I learned as I reined as prettiest girl in increasingly larger pools of competition--” RACHEL ANSWERS and invites and during the greeting Darcy takes off her glasses, revealing her stunning beauty. DARCY (V.O) “--that there is a pecking order in life, and appearances play a role in that hierarchy.” SMASH TO: The baby being held and admired, EYES STILL FOCUSED on falling paper. SMASH TO: INT. RACHELS FLAT -- Darcy and Rachel are talking, Darcy distressed, seeking comfort, Rachel distracted. Suddenly Darcy spots a watch on a bedside table, grabs it, starts searching around frantically until she rips open a closet door and finds Dex hiding in his boxers. SMASH TO: A TIP of the paper touches down, babies EYES ON PAPER. SMASH TO: Darcy starts to leave and then turns and PELTS THE WATCH AT DEX, which hit’s the wall behind him. SMASH TO: TISSUE PAPEER LANDING completely on ground, (baby blurred). SMASH TO: EXT. RACHELS APPARTMENT Darcy slams the door, then pants lightly while leaning on against the other side of it. DARCY (V.O) Then something happened that made me question everything that I thought I new about the world: Rachel, my plain do-gooding best friend and maid of honour, with frizzy hair the colour of wheat germ, swooped in and stole my fiancé. INT. MARCUS’S HOUSE -- LATE EVENING Marcus is LOUNGING ON HIS BED playing guitar in his messy apartment, Darcy lying down next to him in full crisis mode. DARCY “Who is prettier, me or Rachel?” MARCUS “. . .hmm, that’s a toughie, I’m not sure.” DARCY “Marcus! I can’t believe your not taking this seriously, and stop playing that guitar!” Marcus chuckles, detached from the crisis. DARCY “Stop laughing! There is nothing remotely funny about the situation!” MARCUS “I really don’t see why the situation of you wanting to no whether you are prettier then Rachel needs any kind of serious attention.” DARCY “Well it does because it‘s part of the whole thing, everything! I mean everything that’s going on!” Marcus plays the last strings on his guitar, sighs, then places it to his side. MARCUS “Look, I just don’t see how you can be so outraged when we did the same thing.” DARCY “It’s not the same thing! I may have cheated on Dex with you, but I didn’t do anything to Rachel.” MARCUS “Well she and I did date for a minute, we had potential long before you came along.” DARCY “You went on a few lousy dates while I was engok,, thins was the main reason why I put this up and no one had answered it. The main reason why it's up is that I saw that there were to many smash cuts but I don't know how to write the scene without them --- so what I's asking is WHAT DO I REPLACE THEM WITH??? I can't just take them out there needs to be something saying that theres a scene change. moreResolved Question: what should i study in college/ online college?

Chapter One John Winston Lennon, singer, song writer, and guitar player, was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England. His father left his mother when he was just four years old. At the age on five, his mother gave birth to Victoria Elizabeth Lennon, but the infant was given up to adoption because of their lack of money. In school he was a trouble maker and would rather draw or write than do his school work. Lennon created his first band in 1957. The band name was Quarry Men and was mostly made up of his classmates, but whoever he could get to learn to play an instrument could also join. After a few people quit, he found 3 people, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, and they formed the Beatles. After 23 years of success, the Beatles broke up and John Lennon created an album with his wife Yoko Ono. Their son Julian Lennon also is interested in music, since he too plays the guitar and sings. On December 8, 1980, John was assassinated, outside his apartment complex in New York City, by Mark David Chapman. Chapter Two My family, like other families, loved John Lennon’s solo albums, as well as the Beatles’ band albums. There’s something about the random lyrics John Lennon put into the Beatles’ songs that made them fun. When The Beatles and John Lennon were most popular, it was during the hippie time. A lot of the lyrics also played a role in the inspiration the hippies had. However, John Lennon’s lyrics for his solo albums were inspirational; his songs were usually about how the world could become a better place to live. Chapter Three John Lennon and I are alike in many ways. One way is we both want to make the world a better place. We also have a love for singing and learning new instruments. We also have our differences. Lennon was born in England; I was born in America. Lennon also was more famous than me. but i need a summary/concluding paragraph... can anybody help me?? pplleeaassee?? moreResolved Question: 1000 Things to do Before I Die - #6!!?

Ok, I'm 14, and when my 15th b-day comes around I want to ask for an electric guitar, mainly to learn how to play some songs from my favorite artists. Apparently I want to be a vet but whenever I watch Avenged Sevenfold's Live in the LBC video on my iPod I suddenly get inspired to become a guitarist. Problem is, my mom hates rock/metal, etc. just because I'm Puerto Rican. Pretty retarded reason. I want to learn how to play, but the thing is I want to learn quickly so that I can become really good really fast, which seems impossible(who knows?). Also, I know that YouTube is a good sight to show others how good you are. The thing is I hate criticism, most the kind that seems condescending and hurtful, which brings me back to why i want to learn to be really good within a really short amount of time. So... how can I learn how to play efficiently? any ways to motivate myself? i have low self-esteem, and i hate being bad at things since that starts to sink in a affects me constantly. if someone (like 14 or 15) was really good and got discovered, are they able to be home schooled just to start a career? im in new york city and my h.s. handbook says that up until the age of 16 minors must attend full time schooling. is there a way to possibly open up for a band of your choice? I'm 17 years old, a junior in high school and I'm interested recording music for my future career, but I have two problems. Answering one of them or even both would be nice. ^_^ Firstly, I don't have much of a clue of which college/university I'd like to go to. If someone could suggest some that'd be nice. One in or around New York City, or even a city would be awesome. Lastly, I don't have much experience in this area. I play the bass guitar, and have the program Audacity (which I've fiddled around with), but that's pretty much it. Even if a little how can I get more experience or learn more about recording music? I'm only a Sophomore in High School, but i've been thinking a lot about college and which ones I can get into. Currently, my average is around a 94-95 (What's that on a 4.0 scale?) I'm taking 3 honors/enriched courses this year and next year AP History, Enriched Physics and English. Senior year I will take AP Writing or Literature, AP Biology and another AP history. I'm a member of the Italian honor society, Italian Club, I have participated in the school newspaper and will most likely be in National Honor Society senior year. In addition, I play the guitar outside of school, I'm learning the piano and I write a lot. I'm also planning on playing Tennis next year for the school team. I'd like to go to school to double major in Journalism and Creative Writing. Based on this, what kind of schools could I get into? My dream would be NYU, is this possible? Or maybe Boston University? Could I possibly get into schools like these or maybe even better? Also, what can I do to better improve my chances of getting into these schools? Also, assuming my SAT scores will be great as i'm taking review classes and will continue to and my essay is amazing. Btw, I live in New York and would like to go to a school in a major city with plenty of resources and internships available. I'm pretty open to suggestions as well. I currently live in rundown tiny little town you’ve probably never heard of in New York. 90% of the people are not people you would want to associate with and it has nothing to offer to anyone. I go to the middle school here where allot of the people are not to pleasant and the people that are descent .. most aren’t that nice. I hate where I am and would do basically anything to get out of here. Iv lived in a very nice big house in a cute little cul-de-sac with lots of children and dogs living around and flowers out front and its quit and peaceful and nothing ever really happens . Iv lived there all my life. never been moved or considered moving once. well my parents haven’t anyway. they wont. they're planted here the rest of there life’s. All the sweet quietness its just not me. I like to be in big cities with lots of people and excitement and lots to do. not on some suburbs in a forgotten Crappy old town. Also my has and always will be to be on Broadway, to have hit singles, platinum records ect. our drama club here is the worst thing you ever seen since there isn’t much talent in this school. we have no money for props or costumes . we use hammy down costumes or ones sewed by the (horrible) drama club directors mother. The set is just paint and cardboard and they cut the only two good places for theater around here. the high school plays and the glove theater. both don’t have enough money to put on any more productions and got cut. I have a singing teacher and have been told I can be famous with my voice. I also write music and am beginning to learn how to play the guitar. I put my heart into acting and i usually get the lead rolls in drama club. i am in 7th grade age 13 by the way. I have two older sisters one is 28 and lives in south Carolina and one us 23 and lives in New York City. lucky. My parents are very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very veryvery very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very (I could go on for a few years or so with very's) over protective, and closed minded. they would never let me out of there site once much less let me move away. unless i got a scholarship somewhere or something but I’m not sure they would let me go then depending on how far it is. my 28 year old sister just had a baby (Her first) and my mom is upset that they live so far off and she worries about my irresponsible sister in NYC who just got a new job at and accounting firm. (she’s been around she even worked for JP Morgan for a while!) I plan on going to NYU college when I grow up (its the best entertainment arts school around look it up ) all the schools around where I live suck and so do the towns. (she’s been around she even worked for JP Morgan for a while!) I plan on going to NYU college when I grow up (its the best entertainment arts school around look it up ) all the schools around where I live suck and so do the towns. want to write a story to save on my usb and type whenever I'm somewhere like the library and have nothing to do. My main character's name is Cailee and her little sister, aged fourteen (Cailee is 17) is named Eliza. They are going to be a few more characters that need names.. This character is the girls' mother. She is quick to judge and very hard-working. She is very outgoing though, loving and carefree when she's off the job or out of the house. She is very teenager-like, even. She has long blonde hair with a few highlights and her eyes are the color of the sky. She has a tan complexion, and she is slightly curvy. Names I am considering; Rae Arden Renly (last name is Renly) Arda Lyn Renly (Btw her parents were intense gamblers of their time, spening most of the time in the casino having a blast. They eventually went broke, took what they had, and retired in Wyoming with their son.) Celia Casey Renly Reiana Laury Renly (Her parents were a little above their times) Vivian Cada Renly ---- Next character is their father; a sophisticated upper-class business owner married to a young widow named Clarice. Yet at night, he likes to play guitar in local restaurants and cafes that will allow it. Damien Christoph Davis (last name Davis) (His mother was an immigrant from Germany. She learned the English language after two years and after her and her husband, Richard Jack Davis' son was born, they encouraged him to take place in American culture to grow and become more educated. They did not give him a german name, afraid this would stand in the way of his education.) Alexzer Renoldo Davis (Oh, btw, in choosing names, please feel free to suggest any!) James Franklyn Davis ---- The main character Cailee's best friend. She is tall, lanky, and very girly. She has long brown hair and light gray eyes, and she aspires to be a magazine editor one day. She is, as Cailee states, the source of Cailee's sanity. Meagan Rea Filmore (Her parents are sophisticated, and they moved to the state these characters live in, which is Georgia, from the upstate New York area) Leanna Christa Filmore Emily Taylor Filmore (She is seventeen years old) ---- Lastly is Cailee's bff's bf. he is never seen but is mentioned in many conversations as the artist, the writer, the singer, the creator. His first name is all that is mentioned; Chris Matt Damien Terrance TylerMeagan Rea Filmore The reason I spelled Rea that way is because it is pronounced Ree-uh moreVoting Question: Why does my mind try to "poison the moment" for me when I have a moving experience?
Whenever I have an experience I feel I will remember for a long time, my mind tries to poison the moment by giving me thoughts I don't want to remember For example, while I anticipated the wait for my Gibson Dove acoustic guitar to come in the mail, the whole week I was thinking about how I can prevent myself from poisoning the moment. Sure enough, while I opened it, my mind kept repeating "Mongolia" in my head (I have an irrational fear of Central Asia). Wow I sound like a nut saying that. but yah, the Central Asia thing and anything associated with "Mongols" has been driving me nuts and dominating my life lately. When I went to see Van Morrison I was afraid I would be thinking on mongols or mongolia while I was watching the concert and I knew that concert was going to mean so much to me. Also, whenever I used to use youtube to learn songs on guitar, I would think, "when I look back 30 years from now I'm going to remember using youtube to learn guitar." And I don't know why that bugs me, it's just different from how the legends learned. Also whenever I thinking of Japanese people or Mexican people all I can think about is mongols since both have ancestors originally from siberia. Anything associated with central asia either annoys me or scares me I dont know how to describe it. I'm going to move to New York next year and I'm scared as hell I'm going to think of mongolia when I first arrive That will really poison the moment because I'll remember moving to NY for the rest of my life. even as I type this I'm reluctant to type it because I don't want to connect nyc and mongolia because I have a special sentiment for nyc. As I type this I'm afraid the nyc-mongolia thing is going to become a bigger issue and I really will think of it. Another thing is when I went to Washington DC last summer, when I saw them Mongolian embassy I got really depressed and couldn't enjoy it anymore. Then I feel like I'm letting my family down because mongolia is dominating my thoughts and this is not going how I expected even though they have no clue what I'm thinking about. When I found out that the acting of bowing an instrument originated in central asia I couldn't enjoy violin playing for months and I kept thinking of the morin huur which is a Mongolian instrument. I listened to it on youtube and it sounds nothing like the double bass does in Van Morrison's song "Sweet Thing" but now I always think of the morin huur when I listen to that, and that song meant a lot to me but now I can't even listen to it. I feel like I'm poisoning your guys minds right now too with this information, I'm scared you'll think the same way as me. My family knows nothing of these thoughts because I don't want to poison their minds and make them think the same way as me either. Sometimes I feel depressed about an issue and the next moment I feel happy and I'm like "they aren't associated even the slightest," but then I'm backed to being depressed a second later. On one hand I like to sound like I'm crazy as I type, but on the other hand I feel like somewhere in my mind I'm not crazy, but only wish I was, but then if that were true, why would I be thinking of what I just thought about before the thought that I lost, but then it goes back to the idea of making myself crazy, but then why the hell am I even doing this in the first place. Hard to describe, don't feel like explaining it. There are millions (not literally obviously) of things similar to this that dominate my mind. I don't think any sort of therapy is going to help this and I think I wll continue to poison the moment of everything and thinking about mongolia until the day I die. I apologize for the bad punctuation and grammar. I tried to poor my thoughts out, I think that is more important than punctuation. Thank you very much. It's not just Mongolia. When I listen to Simon and Garfunkel all I can think about is Paul Simon being a midget because I know he's short but in wikianswers a guy said "he's not technically a midget" so now that's all I can think about when I listen to their music. I just used the mongol thing as an example, that's all.I highly doubt another person could fix this problem for me Wait is that really possible? Have people had problems like this and had them fixed before? Because even if I did "fix" it I'd be all happy and Mongolia, or some other thought will come along and poison the moment for me again. moreResolved Question: What to do if having a "Musical Talent" gene? :D?
Well the background of my family with music is very limited. The most the family could play is piano and a little bit of guitar. So...is it possible to be a child in the family with musical talent unlike the family? Example: I can play.. Guitar Bass Drums Piano/keyboard Cello Violin All I self-taught myself but taking Orchestra in middle school. Plus, is it normal for people to just get an instrument and in a few couple of minutes could play like been playing for a year or two? Because I taught myself piano so easily and guitar, bass and drums. Since my family encourage me with my music ability... What should I do with it? I can teach myself a song in a matter of about 5 minutes. (Like today I learned a few songs from Bullet For My Valentine and Chiodos) Even though those are quite extremely easy..I can learn stuff from Trans-Siberian Orchestra with ease. But how can I show off my talent? My family does no help just encourage. Ps. What is a good music college in New York? Because my teacher todl me about it once...but can't choose what college... And no I am not exaggerating with any of this. Please and thank you for your advice/help :D -Cristie moreResolved Question: What are your hobbies?

My name's Derick Fernandez. I'm 14yrs old. I was born in New York. Now I've been in India for about 4yrs. I'm also studying here. I love music. All types of it. I wanna become a rockstar, but I'm not sure how. I'll be coming back to Atlanta in 2010. just 2 more years. So, I want a band, or just a few people I can make music with. I don't have a bad voice, it's just needs a little more practice. I can't come up with lyrics that easily, so I need some help with that. I need some tips on how to do all of this. Maybe from someone with lots of experience. I love: Linkin Park, Nirvana, Jason Mraz, Gary Hoey, Avril Lavigne, Jonas brothers, etc. There's so much more that it would take forever to list. I like almost all types of music, but my favorites are ROCK and POP. I've been learning Piano for the past 5yrs. I have a upright at home back in USA. I love guitar but never really got a chance to learn how to play it. My dad still works there for Homeland Group Realestate in GA. We moved there to Lilburn after I was 2yrs old. I asked my dad to bring a $100 Behringer 'Rock The World' set which came with most of the things you find in a guitar starter kit http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5639830 He told me that he packed up everything and there was no space left. He told me that he looked at it at Walmart and it was a cheap guitar and that he wanted to buy me a Fender (The Stratocaster is my favorite). So he said that a friend (who's been living at our house for about 5yrs and he's a guitarist.) would bring it with the rest of his studio equipment on cargo. So, I'm waiting. Any tips on Rock Guitar would be good. I'll never give up.I like Metallica, Deep Purple, AC/DC, etc. Like I said, It would take too long to list. I have a much better taste in music. moreResolved Question: musical instruments for beginners?? i need help what are some "easy to learn" ??? ?

I have been wanting to play the guitar for a long ass time ever since i really got into rock and metal which was around 5-6th grade. I bought a guitar like a dumb ass in 6th grade thinking i would learn how to play right away but eventually i didn't want to do it b/c i did not have enough money. Years have gone by now I'm 17 now i do want to go out and get a instructor or go to a group. But i need a place that is not expensive and that can really teach you to play for beginners and eventually teach you how to shred big time. Please anyone from New York that have any ideas please tell me. I'm desperate to start learning asap. I cant stand hearing great music from classic metal and rock songs knowing that i could have learned how to play the guitar allready. moreResolved Question: I need to get a band togeter. pronto! Anyone interested?
Well ,all my friend aren't up for it. some of them have talent ,and some of them don't. the friends that have the talent have major issues and are screwed up, and honestly dont care about anything. Okay so I sing, it's not a big voice that I have, It's rather small, tiny, pretty and I don't like it but I've learned how to work around it. I also play a little bit on the guitar, I'm not great at it, but I'm okay. I love music with a passion, I listen to tons of it. My computer is actually low on space because of all the music I listen to. I love different kinds of music but I mostly listen to artist like Smashing Pumpkins, The Yeah yeah yeahs, The Vines, Oasis ,Zero7, Pearl Jam, Sia, Jimi Hendrix, Goldfrapp, Andrew Bird, Death Cab for Cutie, Massive Attack. I can go on, but my fingers would fall of before I could get to the end. Oh, and another thing that may be help full is where my area of location is, which is Queens, New York City. Hey gang, I am a guitarist of about 16+ years. About eight months ago I joined a glam cover band (New York Dolls, T-Rex-inspired kind of stuff) and I play bass. Being a guitar player, I naturally transitioned to playing bass by using a pick. All of my band mates seem to like my skills and I have had no complaints. Still, when I try to play with my fingers, it seems very awkward. I have heard the best bass players play with their fingers, so I have always wanted to make that transition. Still, I can't help gravitating towards using a guitar pick when I play bass. So, my question is: Should I learn to play with my fingers and loose my inclination for pick playing? Or, is this pick vs. finger issue just about individual preference? moreResolved Question: could you please give me some feedback on my first college essay?
When I was little I used to think that music was stupid and that there was no point to it. Then, all of a sudden, my mom decided that it would be good for me to join my cousin to sing in a choir in a Christian Church in Chinatown. At first, I resented this and refused to sing during recitals, but slowly, I grew to like it. I remember the part that I liked best about choir was learning how to play Beethoven’s 9th Symphony on the recorder. Soon, after this, my parents took me out so I could go for extra help in math, since it was not one of my best subjects. By this time I was in the third grade going to a small Catholic school in my neighborhood. The school was offering a new course to the students: band. My parents made me sign up for band; they thought it would be advantageous for me to take it. The handout said that playing an instrument would help students academically and improve hand-eye coordination, which were two things I needed help in. I had my first band class in October and was placed in the group with about ten other third, fourth, and fifth graders; we were called “Group D” because there were too many people who signed up to play the flute. That day we learned how to make a sound just using the mouthpiece. I immediately caught on, and in a couple months, the band director asked me if I wanted to move up to Group A, where the sixth, seventh and eighth graders were. I said yes. I felt proud of myself for working hard and being able to finally play songs while Group D was still struggling to learn to play notes. In the sixth and seventh grade, I received letters to join the New York City Honor Band. Only students who the director thought were good were able to join. In addition to that, you had to be in the sixth, seventh or eighth grade. Then again in eighth grade, I was invited to join Honor Band and to be in the Woodwind Ensemble. Even though I am not obligated to still play flute, I still practice it. My little brother, who is four years younger, also plays the flute. Not to toot my own horn, but he tells me that he wishes that he could play as well as I do. When I am in a good mood, I will sometimes play along with him and help him out when he makes mistakes. But I want to learn how to play the guitar. My inspiration comes from listening to my favorite bands: Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, Cobra Starship, Cute Is What We Aim For, and Boys Like Girls. Since I started listening to them, I have fallen more and more in love with music. I am not just confined to just listening to alternative music. The different types of genres of music that I listen to also include: dance, hip-hop, pop, R&B, rock, techno, Chinese pop and rap, alternative Japanese, and Korean rap. Music is a big part of my life and it makes me who I am. To later on have a career in the music industry would be a dream come true. Yes, I do love music but I am not a singer. I want to work behind the scenes, to help artists make it big, to write songs for bands to sing. I want to work for an Indie record label; I prefer small, not-so-well-known bands compared to artists whose songs have been overplayed again and again on the radio. I love writing poems except when I am forced to about a particular topic that I do not like. moreResolved Question: Want to be an actor?

Hi, I understand how ambiguous this is going to sound but I also understand how common a problem it is. I'm 21 years old and I don't know where my life is going. My biggest problem is I truly can't decide what I want to make of my life or what I want to spend the rest of my life doing, my mind changes like the weather. I've played the guitar since I was six so I always wanted to be a rock star, I also spent my childhood and adolescence wanting to be a filmmaker. I got bored of learning music in college when I was 19 so I traveled to New York to teach guitar at a summer camp, then I traveled the States and decided I wanted to travel for the rest of my life. I then realized I keep changing my mind and decided to stay home to decide what I want to do. I've spent the past two years bouncing from one part/full time job to the other and I still can't decide, it's getting me down that I have no clue. All I do is think about it, from the moment I wake up to falling asleep. Somebody please help moreResolved Question: Learning guitar grades?
Hi, I've played the guitar since the age of six I'm a capable acoustic and electrical guitarist. Between the ages of 13 and 18 I became so engrossed in learning all my favourite songs I really developed my skills and even taught guitar to children and young adults for a few months in New York (rock, blues, jazz, fast metal). However, I'm only good practically. I'm now 21 and I've lately found that my guitar skills are not as refined as they once were and since I never truly sat and learned any theory (I only know the names of basic chords) 've begun to consider learning the guitar from grades 1 and upwards. I just don't know where to start. How many grades are there? How long does each grade take to complete? Can I do it from home as I work full-time? What exactly does the "grade-taking" involve and what are the benefits of completing the grades (i.e. Will they certify me as a professional guitarist?)? I really want to become much faster in soloing - blues/metal. Thank you... moreTop New York Learn To Play Guitar Links
