So In LA class, I need to design a personal logo on some personal things that reflect me. I need some ideas of what my logo could be!! I have to incorporate my initials (AP) or my name (Amanda) somehow. Open Question: Demonic clothes at work?

I just started a new job! My manager did not go over dress code, and it seemed rather relaxed. My first day I wore neutral clothes, pants without holes, and a plain long sleeve. From what I saw from my other co-workers, words on your shirt was okay. The next two days, I wear pants with small holes in them (covered by threads, you can't see my skin), and more colorful shirts with abstract designs. The fourth day, I wear more of my wardrobe, and I am called into the office. My manager tells me no jeans with holes (alright, I'm fine with that). And then says "And nothing demonic." I look at myself and repeat "Demonic..?" She does not elaborate. That day I was wearing a very expensive Salvage brand sweater-jacket. Their recurring logo does say "Cycle Werkes HELL BOUND" on it. Is this demonic? The brand is not affiliated with any kind of religion, they're simply a popular clothes line as far as I know. There are no images of anything crude on it; it's a rather tasteful article of clothing which I receive many compliments on. more

Open Question: Brand new AT&T Samsung Impression a877 series is not working?

I just got my new phone out of the box and have had one problem after another. First after asking if I wanted to save the settings and pressing yet it displayed a message that said DEMSBL BOOT Loader for MSM6290 More than Downloader V5.43. Then after taking the battery out a few times and pressing a few keys that stopped and then it said that there was no sim card. After that the screen started flashing blue with a white line across the bottom and then flashing the ATT logo again with white line across the bottom. I am unable to get the on/off button to work and it will only stop flashing when I unplug the phone, but it starts up again when I plug it in again. What am I doing wrong? more

Why is it that shows like iCarly or Hannah Montana can't say, for instance, youtube or Starbucks? I noticed that iCarly came up with Skybucks, a coffee company with the exact logo and design of Starbucks, but with a slightly different name. Why is it that more adult shows say the names of the actual companies without hesitation (youtube rather than splashface, starbucks rather than skybucks) but the kiddy shows can't? Is their seriously copyright issues in just saying the name "Youtube"? Doesn't make sense to me. more

Voting Question: Business Branding Maybe?

I think I have an idea of what you would call someone who does this but I thought I would double check and see if other knew what you would call someone with this job/business. What would you call a business or person who is kind of like a wedding or party planner but for a small business? They basically help with just the looks and the image of the business? They would take someone starting a small business and help them establish their "brand" by connecting them with sub contractors who can accomplish the things they need for their business? Such as, they would help you figure out what kinds of things you would need for your business like business cards, websites, letterheads, logo, etc? They would maybe start out as helping you figure out the best approach on what your business should look like? Picking out colors, finding someone to make a logo, and then deciding ways to advertise your business online? I realize this is kind of a scattered post but I can't think of what you would call this person or business. Someone who takes care of building the look of the company and sub contracting to programmers, designers, and print companies? Also, what degrees would they have? The public bathroom is where the consumer is more vulnerable, whether the consumer has to sit down or stand up, because visual stimulation distractions relaxes you muscles and preoccupies your time being wasted… wasting. Men stare straight ahead (as to not be caught admiring their fellow urinal compadre) and stare straight into the asshole of capitalism. Most of the public bathrooms are privately owned by Kohler in the Pacific Northwest and they sell their ad space to every corporations from Apple to Walt Disney, the Corporations no longer worry about markets and target-audiences because the main objective and, arguably, the only objective is to sell, sell, sell. Advertising Agencies are a 20th century fad, whose main contribution to the world of Corporation was to desensitize Consumers enough that advertising was an extension of human decision making. Everything looks like a kaleidoscope of Consumer-friendly colours and literature. The entire world is trying to hawk brands at you and, unfortunately fortunately for Consumers, you buy, buy, buy. Every day, brands are making their ways into the dictionary; detergent was forced to give it’s meaning to Tide, toilet paper bullied to give it’s meaning to Charmin, tissue was blown out of the nose of the nose of the individual into a Kleenex, instant noodles were micro waved Ramen, every day brands become neologistic insurrections. University campuses and Primary playgrounds are corporate jam sessions; where everything from the benches to the monkey bars are logo’d. Caterpillar Monkey Bars and benches are floosies when it comes to ad space. The wallpaper in this bathroom and, in fact, schools, office buildings, convenient stores are Procter & Gamble owned. All brands sell ad space to brands and we’re caught in the crosshairs of these kissing cousins. Ads on top of ads on top of ads on top of humanity. We, no longer have quarrels about religion, life, love, friendship or sex but where you can find the best deal on Tide Brand tide or some brand or other. The way technology crept into your day to day life, advertising has accomplished with technology taking a supporting role and billed as Medium of Communications. Advertising was the tortoise in a race between Any Other Form of Mind Control vs. Avaricious Wants, Greed and Commodities. Religion only appeared to be winning. Advertising has taken over our life, one medium of communication at a time. At present time, there is a bidding war between Coca- Cola and McDonald’s where the item being auctioned off is United States of (insert brand name here). It’s all very simple, people just got tired of choosing and with super brands taking out all of it’s competition our choices became severely limited. Brands decided to cash in on our limitations by buying more ad space and buying out everything from education to recreation or is it procreation? Since, weddings were being sponsored by some brand or another. And Corporations buying out children’s futures by paying the parents of the child thousands of dollars if they named the child Pepsi or Apple and the most common boy name in 2041 was the Nike swoosh. It started with television, we all were desensitized and nobody/nothing stepped into to rub us with lubricate us with original ideas because in a brand world even respectable educational programming was cramming the latest everything down your metaphysical gullet with sporadic and random pop ups during History programmes of the Third Reich of McDonald’s sponsoring the programme you are currently watching. With virtually everyone in the “civilized” world desentised to megalo-branding, brands started to sensitize Consumers with whatever it was they were hawking at the beginning of this take over. Earth has been lowered in rank to share holder. You can also buy your shares of rain forests, woodlands, deserts and, most profitable in 2037-41, Alaskan wilderness. The way people use to be able to have a tree planted in their name, they have Kohler water fountains in the Mojave Desert with “Tom and Linda’s Kohler Water Fountain for a Better Tomorrow” written on the side… and the sad thing is that many took this sham as similar to the tree fiasco. Resolved Question: AIRLINE ACOUSTIC ARCHTOP GUITAR...BUT WHAT YEAR?

We have an airline archtop acoustic guitar that we were told was a 1964 but we cannot find record of any 1964's being sold. On the inside it has a serial number of L1508 and in other parts it says P-5 and N-5 were not sure if this tells us the year and if so I cannot find any airlines matching that serial number. It is obviously a very old guitar and I have found tons of Kays and Harmony's that look exactly like it besides the brand. If someone could help us figure out what this guitar is so we can determine what it is worth it would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks ahead of time. OK, so my jacket got a couple of huge holes, and I kind of need a new one now. Resolved Question: Modern Warfare 2 Disc Question? URGENT!?

So, a couple of weeks ago I got Modern Warfare 2 at JB-HIFI, because it was much cheaper than the EB GAMES one which was about $120, the JB-HIFI one was about $99. So, I go in, and buy it, and near the entrance, it was like, "Take these disc cases to the counter", or something like that, and to be honest, I truly would have preferred it all wrapped up and stuff. Anyway, I took it to the counter, got out my money and paid them. They fiddled around behind the counter and got my disc case, (which was empty, obviously), and put the instruction booklet and the game disc in. I said thanks and all that, walked out, and on my way out of Westfield, I opened the case up and noticed that the Playstation family logo on the left of the center was a bit pixelated, blurry, like it originally should have been smaller but it was stretched out. Then, I also noticed that the logo was a bit out of place, like it was closed to the bottom left corner, and the area around the PS logo is black, and it left the top and the right hand side with a white lines. After all that, I noticed that the PLAYSTATION 3 brand strip near the bottom of the disc, was also a pixelated and blurry. So, I got home and put the disc in, no problems, no nothing really, but I haven't played Call Of Duty 4 before, so I was a bit unsure, and when I was a like a newbie level, like under rank 10, I couldn't join a Capture The Flag match, but I was in a matchmaking lobby with these other random people, and then it was just like Wasteland, Capture The Flag, so if anyone could tell me should I return the disc and if my CTF encounter was normal, like you can join a lobby, and the leader chooses a CTF match, but you can't select the option to join a CTF match. Are you guilty of flaunting logos? Personally, I'm a strong believer in that if you spend X amount of money on something (from an expensive store), it better have it's name stamped all over it! I don't always buy brands but if I do, and buy ridiculously expensive stuff (like a plain shirt from Hollister or something), it better have a logo.
