So I'm going to ask my girlfriend to junior prom this saturday. We both LOVE Sonic, and it is about 20 minutes away, so we can never go, but I recently got my license, so we consider an amazing time anytime we drive there. SO, my plan is go there on Saturday, order, and then go inside and have them put something I bring in the bag, and so when they come out with the food, there will be something in the bag that she finds that says "prom?". BUT, i don't know what to put in the bag that says "prom?". Any ideas? One idea is to write it on the back of the Broadway ticket that I took her to for out one year anniversary. Open Question: How to cancel theatre plans with my boyfriend's parents?

My boyfriends parents are visiting us in NYC from out of town, and- in advance- bought tickets for all four of us to go to two Broadway plays. When they initially asked, my boyfriend told his parents that I would be available to go to both plays, but he didn't ask me. The problem is, I am in the middle of midterms this week, and really, really, can't miss any of my classes (I would have to miss three to attend the plays). I just paid them back for a plane ticket because of a similar situation, where my boyfriend had told them I could attend a wedding, the same week that I was going out of town. I'm a student and my pockets just aren't that deep. Each of the Broadway tickets runs upwards of $150, and I'm going to feel awful for cancelling on them again, not least because they don't have deep pockets either- they're just extremely generous. A friend of mine is terribly upset with me. Frankly, I feel it's a pretty stupid thing to argue about, but I suppose she has her reasons... Last month my step-dad received four free tickets to the broadway show "Chicago", which premiers in a theater downtown from where I live. He told me I could go with three of my friends. Whenever I go out and do things, I notice that I always invite the same people over and over again. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I thought that this time I would take a few people I'm just starting to get to know. All of them are girls. Problem was my "friend" was not one of them, so she ignored me for a few days. I kept saying sorry and that I had already promised the tickets to a few other people. She said whatever and that she still loved me. So I assumed everything was fine between us. Then something happened and two of the girls I invited couldn't make it. So then, to make it up to her, I asked HER-- my "friend"-- to come with us! She said, "I dunno... I have to think about it...." Now, at this point I knew I had two tickets left. Since I was still waiting for word from her, I decided to invite another one of my friends who ADORES "Chicago". She okay'd it. THEN my friend comes up to me the next day telling me that she and one of the girls who flaked out from earlier could go. They made plans and everything without telling me first. Obviously I'm not going to ditch my other friend... So I told her what happened and NOW she's seriously upset. She tells me that: it's not my fault, she's not mad at me, she's under alot of stress, she just might cry over it, she doesn't know what to do anymore, everything is so confusing, ect. And then she tells me that she NEEDS to see the other girl who flaked out from earlier. Mostly because she hasn't been at school for a while, but we all miss her. That's why I invited her (the other chick) in the first place. I told her though that she could still have fun with the rest of us, because there just happened to be one ticket left. "I dunno... I have to think about it. I'm too upset now." She's still mad at me. She says she's not, but clearly she is. She's upset mainly because she really wanted to hang out with the other girl, but I keep telling her that she can still have fun with the rest of us. I keep apologizing, telling her that I didn't do any of this on purpose, and I really haven't. I wanted to hang out with people I barely know because I feel like we could be good friends. Yes, I've known her longer, and maybe I should have invited her out first. But I'm telling you, I didn't do any of this to hurt her. I wish she'd realize that. She just doesn't seem to believe me. i have rode busses in several cities before and one thing i have definetly learned is that not all busses and bus systems opperate the same way. I am going to land at LaGuardia tomorrow and I'm going to be taking the JACKSON HEIGHTS - 74TH ST BROADWAY STATION (7) bound Q33 bus to 74TH ST - BROADWAY STATION 7. First of all, that does mean that my destination is the last stop on the route right? oh and what does "ROOSEVELT AV STA" mean? Do the buses take all coins, or is cash payment available? I think I once heard that in some rare cases some cities have bus systems that take debit/credit cards. Is this the case in with buses in NYC? when I get to the subway, how much is a ticket, and how do you pay for it? My wife really loves plays and Broadway type shows. The only problem is that she never gets to go because we live in Georgia and are nowhere near Broadway, but we do have the Fox Theater. Here's the thing though...she loves the movie Mary Poppins and the Broadway play is coming to the Fox Theater, but it isn't until May. I planned on maybe us going to that and having her open the tickets on V-Day. I also planned on getting a nice hotel in Atlanta after the play. My question is...will that be a crappy gift seeing that it is not going to happen until 3 months after V-Day? I don't want her to be disappointed. I'm 90% sure it will be a good gift, but maybe there are some other romantics out there that could give me their opinion (if you don't mind). Thank You! more

How do I top that (not that its about "topping" anything- don't read that wrong)?
