Open Question: I have a bachelors but would like to become an LPN any accredited online programs available?
I have a bachelors in general business from an accredited college. I currently work in the assisted living industry, have a passion for it, and would like to pursue an LPN or RN license simply to provide nursing care to assisted living residents (I would not like to work within a hospital setting). The current community colleges in my area have 2-year waiting lists and I would like to begin a program now. Are there any accredited programs online that provide a LPN degree or RN degree? Thanks. moreVoting Question: how do i get out of the feelings i have? Every Valentine card makes me feel SICK!!(long but need help thnx?
My husband just one night pushed me out of bed when i was sleeping and he was on facebook. I didnt know WTF was going on, this was just out of the blue no inications before. He wouldnt let me sleep on the couch and for the next 4 months I could only sleep in my daughters room. He wouldnt let me back in the bedroom. He had turned 40 and met all his old highschool people online and even went to go see them. He told me that I was going to leave and that he wasnt my husband anymore. I WAS totally shocked. HE has just started staying at home from his work, because of less travel, Because of this I was able to find a part time job, working for a respectable university, and had applied and been accepted into nursing school...SO everything was on track for what we both had planned when he started staying home more (me to go to work for my career and him spend more time with the kids) I kept standing up for myself and 4 children told him I was not leaving that it was my house not just his and i wasnt leaving my children either.. Finally one day he got so angry when i said no that he pushed my forehead and I called the cops. they arrested him. He was let back into the house because he works from home and has office there. The trial date wasnt untill 2 1/2 months later. We went through thanksgiving , christmas estranged in the same home but still off and on having sex. He would often say that he loved me but didnt like me. The arrest had traumatized him, Having to bend over naked so they could check for drugs. I didnt feel sorry for him at all. But told him I would never do it again...( I lied I did do it again, please keep reading) He couldnt threaten or touch me during the time he was allowed back in the home. After christmas he tried to get me to leave again by agreement. I said no, he ended up getting so mad again that he grabbed me and pushed me against the wall lightly grabbed my throat (he was restraining himself) and yelled at me that he Hated me.... and wanted me to leave. (Now...side note...I have never been unfaithful in 16 years...kept my body up....dont have any friends because didnt want to make him jealous wanted to put his mind at ease while he was away from home....have been a recluse at home because I wanted to wait for him to do things with the kids...LIke boyscouuts, or football, and church.. The only thing I did was go to school got a 2yr degree and now in LPN school; Also, I was an Executive secretary for a large famous Corporation when we were first married...so I would manage his work...even though his boss didnt know.. I did a lot of contract work, including finding contracts for him...so basically work from home for my husband Everything has been for my husband!) \ SO I said I would leave, packed my stuff, he fixed my car, bought some stuff for nursing school I needed, and gave me just a little$ and I went to me moms. I was going to be back on Sunday to pick up a check I needed for school. Well I came back on Saturday instead and called told him I was there and wanted to see the kids. He blessed me out and said I was never coming back that I had LEFT the home and we were getting a separation agreement next week! WELL he was in our house because that first arrest I had let him back in to work. I could have had him arrested for what he did to me that day I had left...So three days later (sunday) I had brusies on me where he had pushed me. I had him arrested...this time It was a felony because he violated the first order not to harrase me. By this time I was thinking it was probalbly best just to leave everything and not fight it anymore. He said I have family here and he doesnt, so I have a place to go. I was tetering back and forth "why sHould I have to give up everthing when He is the one that doesnt want our family together with me anymore.. his ass should be out!" and "I dont want to rock the boat for him, I have been home for 16 years and taking care of everything while helping him getting up to where he has a big $$ job now...all the shit I put up with him and the house and kids that he didnt recognize because he was traveling..Its His turn to take over EVERYHthing that I know exists and he doesnt understand in our home.... I can now have a time for me" SO I decided I didnt want to prosecute for the second time of arrest. because he was the only way our kids could keep their lifestyle and I could keep mine.....the only way to get out of it was to prove I have some kind of mental illness.... (i dont) But I went to a psych. and convinced them I was came out with MEDs and a diagnosis. When the 2nd trial day came up they dismissed after me convincing them i had a Mental break down and didnt know which end was up because I couldnt remember what happend. ALSI, I felt horrible because I know there are other cases that are much worse than mine and lots of them deserve to be in prison and convicted. But I wanted him to stop because the second time moreResolved Question: Im wanting to go online and get my LPN licenses. any websites/online schools that offer that?

So ever since i was young i wanted to be in the medical field. And ever since my cousins passed away which would be this week i finally decided i wanted to be a nurse. I want to start college early since I'm only 15 and graduating hopefully by the end of this year or next year because i take online classes and i guess you could say I'm smart. I've been looking up to become a CRNA. But i wanted to take some classes close to home before i leave for USC or a better college. So i would be attending MCC. The Programs they offer are Allied Health Nursing - 2 year ADN and the outcome would be i would have my degree in RN. But if i took Allied Health Nursing - 1 year would result in becoming a LPN. which sounds better to do. I really want to become a CRNA which degree would give me more potential in becoming a CRNA. I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant, and I want to look into college. I'm probably going to wait till after my baby is born before starting, but I would love to get it at my own pace, and at least take some classes at home online so that I can spend time with my child. I want to get an education so I can give my baby the life I never had. I've read that the degrees that you can get online aren't considered an actual degree. Is this true? Are there any online college courses for LPN/RNs that ARE legit? Any information would be great :)I was wanting to get into college right after hes born, I want to be around as much as I can when hes first born so he isn't attached to someone else thinking they are his parents.. Thats my reason for wanting online college right after hes born. Two years in, he'll know that I'm his momma. moreResolved Question: how to deal with an unsupportive jacka$$ ?
We were married 9 years ago. 4 years into the marriage, I went back to school for 1 year to obtain my RN degree. We had a toddler at the time. Back then he was all for my going back to school because RN's make much more $$ than LPN's. Fast forward to now. I want to return to school to get my BSN. In today's economy, I may need it in the future. I work at a small public health dept that has seen 2 nurses laid off and no one has seen a merit raise in 2 years. I am taking classes online so that I can be home, but it still requires commitment to classtime on the computer once a week, and the homework on the computer, a little every day. Every time he sees me pick up the computer he starts in with "are you on that thing again? when are you going to be done? When are you going to pay attention to me?" I also take care of the 3 kids (sure he picks them up from daycare and has them for 30min before I get home), feed them, bathe them, help with school work, do 75% of housecleaning, pay bills. Then he starts bitching why we don't have any extra money. Because he has to have the best dish network package, has to have internet which I could live without if it were'nt for classes. Now he's grumbling that he won't get any sleep because i'm either at class or on the computer, studying, or writing a paper. After it begins to upset me, he say's he's just joking and wants me to stay in school. Now I'm dropping out of school all because of the insensitive bastard. Tonight there was a voice mail on his phone from the dr office for one of the kids. When I listened to it the reception was spotty and he said go over by the window. When I went to the window he usually stands at, he yells "no this window. When you're right there and I'm standing here, a normal person would go to this one!" moreVoting Question: Online Nursing Degree?
I have been looking into going back to school, but with two small children it's very difficult. My plan was to attend a year of tech school to become an LPN, but I can't get in until next year. I have been looking online and all of these online schools have degrees for nursing. I have trouble understanding how anyone could get the training they need to be a nurse online. Has anyone done it or does anyone know a good online degree program? moreResolved Question: Have a question about Nursing Degrees!?

I want to advance my nursing career and income potential. Thanks. moreVoting Question: How do I become an RN with a bachelor of science in health science degree?
I have changed my major from teaching to the bachelor of science in health science. I ultimately would like to become a RN. Because I work full time (and I make more money than my husband) I am not able to attend a regular college at this point in time. What I am attempting to do is to complete the BSH degree online and then do some type of a bridging course to become a nurse. I think I will have to get my first aid cert, then CNA certification (I found a place that offers night classes for six weeks for that certification), and thats where I am stuck. With a BSH degree will I have to go back to college to become an LVN/LPN? And then I know I will have to do so many hours as a LVN/LPN before I can get certified as an RN. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me their understanding of how this all works. I am from South Africa originally and am just learning how the whole nursing field works here. I live in Georgia if that helps :) Thank you :) moreResolved Question: Is this true about LPN's?
Ok well i am currently going to college for a MA (Medical Assistant) and i heard that they where going to do away with LPNs and hire all MAs. I was just woundering if this was true because i am wanting to go further into the nursing field and I was haoping to go for LPN later on and then take some online classes to get my RN degree. But before i can take online classes i have to be certified in LPN first. So is this true? And if so, what do I do?? Thanks alot everyone! -Amber moreResolved Question: Had anyone ever done the LPN to RN online?
Anyone ever taken the online LPN to RN courses and had success? I have heard many horror stories about the online classes like most employers won't accept a degree from an online institute. Does anyone suggest a good site? moreResolved Question: Is there anyone here that got their LPN to RN degree through a completely online school?
Just stop it! moreResolved Question: Switching careers? Another degree?
I completed my undergrad in 2000 and I'm at a crossroads right now. My bf is encouraging me to go back to school and complete my teaching certification (I have 2 BAs and can receive certification and licensing in about 6 months). I've spent the last year substituting and trying to find my particular teaching niche, which seems to be high school English. Here's the problem - I really enjoy teaching, but there are no permanent openings in my area (relocation is not an option), and future openings are looking grim. There are, however, many job openings advertised for LPNs and nursing. I'm thinking of going back for medical assisting, finding permanent employment in the medical field, then continuing my education for either LPN or RN. Anyone familiar with how elective credits would transfer? Recommended programs (online even)? I'd be happy in either field, but the bottom line is job security and being able to pay the mortgage. Anyone out there dealt with this? Do I continue on my current teaching path and just hope for an opening? Doesn't it make more sense to pursue a career where I know there are more jobs available? Where do I go from here? moreResolved Question: Questions for military wives/husbands who have gotten their degree while their spouse was active?
Just want to say thank you in advance. I know this is long but I have lots of questions. My husbands being deployed soon. I'm going to be moving back home and living with his parents so I can get help with our newborn. The baby will be born and then a month later he deploys. So I really want to be around family and he wants me down there. Now. I need to go to school so I can get a decent job. I really want to become a nurse. However, that schooling is two years long. So I've decided to wait until he comes back so I don't have to stop halfway through. Then I was looking into becoming an LPN...that schooling is a year long. So I'd have to stay down in FL for a few extra months. I don't really want to do that as my husband will be spending those months alone up in WA. I don't want to leave him up there alone. Especially sine he will just be getting back from deployment. He says he wouldn't mind, but this is our first deployment. So I know his feelings about that may change. So...I figured I'd go to school to become a phlebotomist (three months long) and just work while he is deployed so we can save more money. Then when he gets back go to school to become an LPN. Which will be a nice pay raise...then go to school to become an RN. I realize that this will take longer but I'd really like to become an LPN and get experience before I become an RN. My husbands mother stays at home and she said that she would love to watch the baby while I attend school or work. Which makes me feel good because I don't have to leave my child with some stranger. I can't take online classes because I need the classroom interaction. It's just how I am able to learn. OK. Now for my questions...there are a lot of them so if you can't answer all of them I completely understand. Can you get your degree even though your family is moving around so much? What are the day-cares like on base for when I return to WA? Does this plan make sense to you? Is it possible? Are there any kind of programs for military wives who are interested in nursing? I know they have one for wives who want to become teachers. Are there any specific loans or grants for military wives? I've googled it and a bunch of spam popped up... My husband says his GI Bill can cover some of my schooling. Is this true? Is this an appropriate topic to talk to the education center about? Or is the education center just for active duty persons? Are civilians allowed to draw blood in military hospitals or are all those people active duty military? moreResolved Question: does anyone know of good online colleges?
Im trying to find an online school to earn some sort of nursing degree....I dont own a degree now, I have done core classes but only a few...I was wondering if any one knew of some good online schools to earn a degree for an LPN. or anything like that moreResolved Question: Can you get a Nursing Degree from home?

I have 2 small children and can not take day classes, night classes are a possibility but would be difficult. So is there any way to do MOST of it online? moreResolved Question: Nursing School...can anyone give me information?
my husband is deploying and i plan on going to an online school so i can have a full time job also. When he gets home we are moving and i will have to transfer credits, which degree would be the easiest to do this in. and also, if i am taking courses for a Practitioner Nurse can i transfer to an RN degree, i know it is a down size, but i want to know, and i would also like to know vice versa, can i go from RN to LPN?? moreResolved Question: Is there on online school to become a LPN?
I have worked as a STNA for about 10 years now. I have a college degree as a diet tech. I am looking for a school that might take some of my credits and where I could do most of my classes online. I am trying to avoid being in the classroom. moreResolved Question: Is online school a good idea?
My mom is having a hard time with attending school, going to work, and taking care of general household chores, responsibility to family members, kids...you know the deal. Anyway, she's not good with computers but if she learned to be a little more tech savvy than she is now, is there any way that online schooling would be a better idea? People say it's very convenient but I know it's going to be at a faster rate and heavy work load. But I'm thinking that since she won't have to travel to school, that could save her a lot more time. So, should she consider online school for a Nursing or at least an LPN degree? And if so, what are the best online schools? What do you need to apply? moreResolved Question: How can I get an LPN or RN associates degree online? I can only seem to find Bachelors and Masters degrees.?

I am a 25 year old mother of three looking to become a nurse, I would like to go the LPN way first because from what I've read, it only takes two years. I have a few questions and appreciate any advice. Is there any way this degree can be done online except for clinicals? What are some good schools in the south central PA area for nursing, and how much do they cost? What are the differences in education requirements for LPN, LVN and ADN? I've heard the LVN requires only one year? Is this true and where is this offered? Also, I have some college credits from around 2001, just general courses, how hard would these be to transfer, if even possible? Thanks, I really appreciate any advice. moreResolved Question: is there an Associate Degree Nursing fadeout?
I'm currently in a school that has ADN and BSN program. My school and my friends in the school are telling me that the U.S. is doing a fadeout of the LPN/ADN and slowly changing it up to BSN. My school kept encouraging me to switch to BSN. But by switching programs, I'll be in school longer and take more classes. Is it really true that an ADN phase out is currently being taken on effect and maybe I SHOULD move to BSN? And yes, I was planning on taking BSN classes online and have the hospital pay for it once I start working as an ADN. moreResolved Question: Online Degree (LPN to BSN @ Indiana State University)?
It is very hard to get into a Registered Nurse program here in the Bay Area, CA and after doing some research found an online degree program from Indiana State University that provides online degrees for both LPN to RN and LPN to BSN. I was wondering how companies/employers feel about seeing a online degree to a regular degree on a resume and if it has any bad effects. Do people view online degrees to be lower than a regular degree? Anyone with experience or have any information I would appreciate it if you can share your thoughts. Thanks! moreResolved Question: How to become an LPN?
I was looking into becoming a nurse but I am confused about the programs I need to take. Do you have to have associates or bachelors degree to become an LPN? I am an LPN trying to earn my BSN through The College Network partnered with Indiana State University. I would really love any feedback regarding this, or any online program that anyone has had experience with. Thanks! . I know the college network is not a school nor do they award degrees, but provides module study guides in order to 'test out' for the pre-req's, then my credits will be applied to the BSN program at ISU for completion of the degree program there inculuding the final nursing courses and clinicals. The question I am asking is if anyone out there has used this method, is it reputable, is it professional, etc? Is The College Network reputable? Reliable? I plan to contact my state board of nursing tomorrow and see if they have any information as well. Just want to see if anyone else has used this method!! moreVoting Question: How do I become a nurse? ?

However... looking online at Bergen Community College where she already has about 16 credits, it says all nursing applicants for the A.A.S evening program need to have a valid NJ LPN license. I am an LPN student at the moment and I recently signed up for an do-it-yourself LPN to ADN program. It seems legit. The company is recognized by the NLN and is accredited in every faction. You enroll into the prereqs and various nursing classes, they send you your books, you study, let them know when you want to take the CLEP exam, fly out to a different state for a week for clinicals, and voila you're an ADN. Then you take your NCLEX to become registered. I'm excited and it all seems great. I'm not too worried about the lack of clinicals, because basically the only thing an RN does that a LPN can't do is IV push which I'm sure is easily mastered with practice. However, my mom, (RRT) says not to do it, because of the lack of clinical experience and that once a hospital sees how I got my degree, no one will hire me. Is this true? I mean, if I passed the state boards, why wouldn't they hire me? Not to mention the horrible nursing shortage everyone hears about!? Should I go for it or not?? Any opinions?? moreResolved Question: Where can I find an accredited online school for an LPN degree?

I haven't. If you have.... please share. Thank you. moreVoting Question: I have a BSBA ( bachelor of science & administration) I want to get into nursing. What is the best way?
I have a BSBA. I want so badly to get into the nursing field. My question is how do I go about doing that. Do I start at the beginning as an LPN? My thing is time I don't have 2-3 years to go to school in a classroom setting I have 4 kids and I am a single mother. I can bridge my degree to get a BSN, but there is only one school in Orlando that does that and its very competitive and I just don't have the time to wait, I kind of want to get my LPN nursing degree and then do LPN to RN online, so I can start working. Also does anyone know of any type of funding besides financial aid, my aid ran out for undergrad so I cannot get anymore financial aid until I pursue a Masters degree. Any help would be great I am just tired, fed up and confused. Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: What is a great 2 yr (associate degree) that makes good money, is in need, and isnt too physically demanding?
I want to own my own business after all, but can I do that with an associate degree? If so, my colleges nearby dont offer an associate in business (would it be best to get business management...or is there some kind of general business degree?) . I would have to do classes online and someone said that all (esp university of "state") colleges offer online courses...is that true? If this isnt a good degree, what about RN or dental hygiene or something like that? I seen a lot of degree programs where you have to do LPN for 1 1/2 year...then RN for another year or so.... and 1 1/2 years for dental hygienist. Are all colleges like that?? What are the top jobs that make good money, require 2 yrs or less of college, and are most needed/or most projected to grow? moreResolved Question: Which associate degree is better?
An associate for Licensed Pratical Nurse, Dental Hygienist, or Business Management & Marketing? What is it typically like (hours, workdays, job duties) for an lpn or dental hygienist? Are there any prereqs needed for either of these majors?oh..I meant RN...I wasnt sure which of the 2 were exactly for an associate.... LPN is only 1 yaer isnt it? sorry.oops *yearThe closest 2 colleges offer a lpn for 1 1/2 yrs of school, 4 yrs for rn.... moreResolved Question: I already have a bachelors degree in communications but want to go back to school for nursing,?
