Resolved Question: I want to become a Registered Nurse..?

Im 18, I graduated High School.. I Live in Atlanta Georgia and im really interested in becoming a RN. I Just dont know which schools would be best. My parents never went to college so.. they cant offer me much help on all my questions.. Im Kinda just having to figure everything out on my own. Ive been out of high school for almost a year now and i think ive wasted enough of my time, Lol :] Anyway, someone told me the Medix school here would be good. But i think they only train you to be a LPN. I was just wondering if anyone knew of some good schools. Maybe Georgia Perimeter college? Do they offer a Rn program? more

Resolved Question: Can a nurse licensed in Georgia work in California?

My girlfriend and I are thinking about a move to the west coast. She is currently in school to be a LPN and wants to be a RN eventually. We need to know if she can work in Cali on her degree from Georgia, or if she will need extra classes, or if it would be better just to go on and start the program anew there. Any help, or direction to help would be greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Are there any nursing schools that's easy to get into?

I was in nursing school at Brown Mackie, it's an easy school to get into all you have to do is come and enroll. There's no test or pre-reps required in order to start you just start taking your classes after you enroll. Also there's no waiting list at Brown Mackie and you can start whenever you want to because classes start every month. I was academically dismissed from the program, and I am upset that I lost a lot of time, money and energy going there, but I need to find another program quick. I checked around and I just can't find another nursing school where I could just enroll and start right away. If you know of any LPN programs that are easy to enroll in, I would surely appreciate it. Also someone once told me before that Atlanta Georgia have a 9 month LPN program, if you know of any LPN programs with the shortest amount of months would also be good. Thank You! more

Resolved Question: LPN questions....have a few....please read.?

I started LPN program this semester (my first time in college at age 27) I was ready for a career change, something that would always be needed and something that would make good money. After I get this certificate and work for about 6 months, I plan on going back to college and obtaining a RN. I have always wanted to get into the medical field but it took me a long time to finally do it. What I really want to do is work in the Maternity Ward and work with infants. Anyone with experience in this field, would this be a possibility to get on in that department or would I have to start out somewhere else? If so, how would I make it up the ladder? (I have heard LPN's is low on the todem pole, but I don't know) Also does LPN's make good money? For instance in Georgia what would be a reasonable hourly rate? Thanks for answering my wondering questions :-) more

Resolved Question: Does an NR EMT-Intermediate have a higher level of training than an LPN?

I know that by law in Georgia an EMT-I cannot sign over a patient to an LPN. The EMT-I must transfer his patient to an RN or Doctor. Most LPN programs seem to be longer & contain more credit hours than EMT-Intermediate programs but both are certificate programs. EMT-I in Georgia = about 9 months. LPN in Georgia about = 12-13 months. more
