Lpn Programs In California Questions asked

Resolved Question: Should I do a Pre-Nursing at university or 12 month Nursing program...?

I was in college and had no idea of what to do with my life and ended up dropping out because i got pregnant. I miscarried and now i don't know what to do with my life. I've ben thinking alot about my future and what i should do. I need a job but i don't want to just work at a job like walmart and be stuck. I was looking forward to being a mother because i like to care for other people. So im think i want to be a nurse. My original plan was to do a 12 month LPn program since i was pregnant, but now that im not im debating if i should return back to University in Houston and start up there 2 year Pre-Nursing program since i've already got some credits. If I do the LPN program i will most likely stay in California for convince (i moved back home because of the babies) but i really don't want to be here. I really dont know what to do or which is the best way to go. Which one wil e better and guaranteee me a job to support myself? more

Currently im trying to get my GED and want to go to community college to be a nurse. I want to become a nurse, LPN first i guess then a RN and up.but I also want a career to have enough money to pay bills etc is a nurse salary enough to live on? have never been great in math and science. obviously these are two of the most important subjects when it comes to nursing. Resolved Question: Where should I move??????

I want to move next year. Right now I'm in a practical nursing program so once I get licensed I can pretty much move anywhere. However, I want it to be warm and sunny and also I need to have a college nearby so I can do a bridge program for LPN to RN because my ultimate goal is to be an RN. But once I become an LPN in a few months I want to get a job and move! Right now I live in FL. So I'd like to try something west...maybe Texas, Arizona, California, or somewhere that I can enjoy the single life as a young professional! How do I know where is best for me? I'll be moving all by myself...just me and my two shih tzus :) Any ideas on how to pick a city that's best for me?pk-it's funny how people who live in florida want snow! hahah! i grew up in ohio but have lived in florida the last 5 years...i don't think i could ever go back to the snowy weather! but thanks for the input :) more

Resolved Question: LPN/LVN in Texas, can I bridge to RN in California?

I'm currently a student practional nurse in Texas I don't want to bridge over here in texas because there is only one community college where I live and they are really anal about pre reqs which I am avoiding at all costs since they are a waste of time, I am currently at LPN program kaplan university, and once I graduate I want to move back to California and bridge over to RN, would that be possible or do I have to take the NCLEX-PN and be a Licensed Practional Nurse in california before bridging over to RN? Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Im trying to become an LPN.. is this a bad choice?

Well im 19 years old right now im thinking of going into the nursing path. I don't want to even try for RN just because i suck in math. and i know chemistry and math is a big thing to pass when it comes to that. but i do want to become an LPN. As long as im in the hospital helping people than i'll be happy. i'll finally be attending a community college this spring and i have a few questions. people are telling me about some waiting list?? if i plan on becoming an LPN will the waiting list take me like 5 years to complete the LPN program? I want to complete it in atleast 3 years at the most. How much do LPN's make exactly? Will I be wasting my time? Because it seems that RN's are in higher demand then LPN's. from what i hear and see. any answer is appreciated! thank you i live in san diego california if this helps at all answering my questions.lol i shouldve delved deeper into this. im filipino and if you know its the filipino thing to become a nurse lol. ive grown up with my family doing something in the medical field. i know friends and families who are RN's, LPN's, CNA's, and Nurse Practitioners. I know very well what they go through and what comes with the job. how stressful it is and how much of long hours they put into it. I wouldn't go into something that I want to do for the rest of my life without researching it first. but thank you all for your asnwers. more

Resolved Question: Go back to California with CNA license or stay longer in TX to get LVN?

Hello I am really having a hard time making up my mind on what to do. I moved to Texas last year from California, I disliked it right away and although TX has grown on me and it's a nice place, it's just not for me at all and I want to return to CA before my child starts kindergarten in Sept. My problem is I just got my CNA (nursing asst) here, and ideally I would love to return back to CA NOW. Should I ....... A- Stay in Texas and take the 14 month LVN program and go back to CA with it to get a higher paying job right away, but be miserable here and take my child out of school in the middle of the year. -OR- B- Return to CA now and enroll in a LVN program there after getting settled and make little but steady money as a CNA (which is high in demand). My concerns were being homesick, networking with local people and potential employers and then leaving them to move out of state etc. What would you do? Extra Info- CNA means Certified Nursing Asst, the pay isn't that great but there is ALWAYS plenty of jobs and flexible schedule to pursue higher education LVN/LPN- Licensed Vocational Nurse is in between CNA and Registered Nurses. They make MUCH MUCH better money than CNA's, hence the reason for my going to school. I'm a single parent with one child, just trying to get on my feet and hopefully go back to California and raise my child there and make good money as a Nurse. And I already know about the areas and the cost of living because I have lived in Los Angeles and San Diego. Thanks in advance for your advice!!Im not asking whether I should continue to work as a cna, Im asking whether I should do my LVN schooling in CA or TX.thanks h.dwire. Actually I believe i can transfer my TX license to CA, I forgot what the term is called but I know of a few people who have done this. Regardless of where I stay, I would work as a CNA while going to school. Thanks for answering more

Resolved Question: Can a nurse licensed in Georgia work in California?

My girlfriend and I are thinking about a move to the west coast. She is currently in school to be a LPN and wants to be a RN eventually. We need to know if she can work in Cali on her degree from Georgia, or if she will need extra classes, or if it would be better just to go on and start the program anew there. Any help, or direction to help would be greatly appreciated. more
