Lpn Programs Wa Questions asked

Resolved Question: HOW TO BECOME A PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT IN SEATTLE?

I have just finished up all my college prerequisites for PA school and am planning on applying to UW and going to Yakima, WA campus to do the Bachelors program. Now I was wondering, if anyone can advise me ON what is the best experience to gather for the patient-care part of the PA program. Medical Assistant, LPN, RN or CNA etc- Which Area will make me stick out when I apply and what kind of patient experience should I gather from any of these kind of entry programs without spending to much time or money on the technical course? I have heard surgical technicians have a better chance to getting into PA school, is this true? Any recent graduated physician assistants that have any advise? more

Resolved Question: What is the best way to get into Nursing in Seattle, WA?

Hello, Just curious if there is anyone out there knowing the best way to get into nursing? Meaning, LPN to RN or doing the Associate Program of RN? I have heard of people going in as LPN's because of the competition to getting into a direct nursing school and then afterward them getting a RN license? Not sure if my information makes sense but curious if anybody has gone from a LPN to RN by writing exams or going back to school and taking the RN curriculum. I don't want to waste to much time, please help. Guidance would greatly be appreciated, struggling student here-lol more

Resolved Question: nursing home/any health care job that offers free CNA w/ job contract how do I find one?

My ultimate goal in life is bring lives into the world before I die..... Hence I need my CNA, my LPN, RN and ARNP, and then do what ever I have to to become a midwife! As of right now I need to get my CNA my 18th birthday is the day after Thanksgiving so I will be of age in less than a month! I have heard from a lot of people that some places like nursing homes offer a program that you can take that gets your CNA for free as long as you sign a job contract. This would be ideal for me because I can be getting my CNA and working then my LPN and be moving up in the job finally at that job I would get my RN and continue working until my contract is up. I then want to transfer to an Hospital as an Rn, in the O.B. ward, work for at least a year as an RN to get it down well, then start going for my ARNP while working for what ever hospital. I would like to remain a ARNP for a couple of years in the O.B. ward and then start working towards getting my midwife license. My goal is to be a midwife before I am 30, so I have 12 years!!! I need help finding places that do the CNA "trade" for a job contract in the Renton/Seattle WA area PRETTY PLEASE with a HUGE chocolate covered cherry on top!!!! THANK YOU!!!! more

Resolved Question: Questions for military wives/husbands who have gotten their degree while their spouse was active?

Just want to say thank you in advance. I know this is long but I have lots of questions. My husbands being deployed soon. I'm going to be moving back home and living with his parents so I can get help with our newborn. The baby will be born and then a month later he deploys. So I really want to be around family and he wants me down there. Now. I need to go to school so I can get a decent job. I really want to become a nurse. However, that schooling is two years long. So I've decided to wait until he comes back so I don't have to stop halfway through. Then I was looking into becoming an LPN...that schooling is a year long. So I'd have to stay down in FL for a few extra months. I don't really want to do that as my husband will be spending those months alone up in WA. I don't want to leave him up there alone. Especially sine he will just be getting back from deployment. He says he wouldn't mind, but this is our first deployment. So I know his feelings about that may change. So...I figured I'd go to school to become a phlebotomist (three months long) and just work while he is deployed so we can save more money. Then when he gets back go to school to become an LPN. Which will be a nice pay raise...then go to school to become an RN. I realize that this will take longer but I'd really like to become an LPN and get experience before I become an RN. My husbands mother stays at home and she said that she would love to watch the baby while I attend school or work. Which makes me feel good because I don't have to leave my child with some stranger. I can't take online classes because I need the classroom interaction. It's just how I am able to learn. OK. Now for my questions...there are a lot of them so if you can't answer all of them I completely understand. Can you get your degree even though your family is moving around so much? What are the day-cares like on base for when I return to WA? Does this plan make sense to you? Is it possible? Are there any kind of programs for military wives who are interested in nursing? I know they have one for wives who want to become teachers. Are there any specific loans or grants for military wives? I've googled it and a bunch of spam popped up... My husband says his GI Bill can cover some of my schooling. Is this true? Is this an appropriate topic to talk to the education center about? Or is the education center just for active duty persons? Are civilians allowed to draw blood in military hospitals or are all those people active duty military? more

Resolved Question: Can I get a private student loan after 21 months of credit history w/ ok credit?

Alright..I don't have the greatest credit history for sure but I'm trying to preserve it as much as possible. I am currently (& desperately) looking for a job to save and pay off my debts by August. unfortunately, the school I want to transfer to for the nursing program in another state- WA, in fall, does not allow any federal/ direct loan and I'm not even eligible for the Pell Grant. Well, I just want to know if it's a guarantee that I would be approved for a large loan when i reach that 21 months, few months of work history, and NO co-signer, because I won't be working and going to clinicals at the same time until I finish the LPN-RN program. Advice, Knowledge anyone? Thanks! more
