Lpn School In Georgia Questions asked

Resolved Question: Can you live on your own as an Lpn?

Im turning 18 soon *graduated high school semester early* well i plan on getting my lpn in a year and i was wondering if it's possible for me to live on my own with an lpn salary i live in the suburbs of Georgia. Me and mom aren't exactly getting along anymore and I think it would be a good ideal if I moved out. I really want to pursue a makeup artist carrer but an lpn is cool to more

Resolved Question: Does anyone know about the WIA grant?

I am trying to find out if I can get the WIA grant for school in Georgia. I know my school offers it, and I have applied, I just want to know what the income limits are. I can't find anything on the internet. I am going to school for LPN and this quarter is going to be pretty expensive, as we are now starting clinicals and I must buy the uniform, and books and everything else. If it helps, I am going to a Technical College, and my income is about 14,000-18,000 per year. I do not qualify for Pell because my last year's income was more than this. But on the application for this, it just asked me how much income I received in the past 6 months, which I am guessing they will then multiply by 2 to get the year's income. Any help would be greatly appreciated! The sooner I know, the sooner I can budget my expenses. more

Resolved Question: I want to become a Registered Nurse..?

Ive been out of high school for almost a year now and i think ive wasted enough of my time, Lol :] Anyway, someone told me the Medix school here would be good. But i think they only train you to be a LPN. I was just wondering if anyone knew of some good schools. Maybe Georgia Perimeter college? Do they offer a Rn program? more

Resolved Question: New Jersey Licensed LPN wants to move to Atlanta Georgia. Help?

My wife and I want to move down to Ga. I am a NJ Licensed LPN and want my Licensed to be endorsed to a Georgian License. I called the Georgia Board of Nursing and was told that "in order to qualify one has to have 1400 hours completed of schooling". However, in NJ we only complete 1252 hours. Has anyone (LPN) moved down to Georgia and got their LPN Licensed endorsed there? What are the procedures? I don't want to take a chance and apply for this transfer, pay over $100, knowing that my request might just be denied. Thanks for your time.I have been told I need to complete the hours for the requirements but how and where? more

Resolved Question: HOW can I get a medical transcription job? I'm an LPN, graduated in May. Several weeks before graduation, I ?

found out I'm pregnant (unexpectedly) and due in March. I only went to LPN school to be able to bridge into RN school. It is difficult to get into RN school here in Georgia, and that was the best way for me. My Hus is an RN, but we can't live on ONLY what he makes. He can't get a day job in our area right now, so I can't work nights with our soon-to-be two kids. We've tried to sell our house and move, but the market is SO bad here. Anyway, LPNs are not in demand here. I got a job a week after graduation (very few in my class even HAVE a job), but they are cutting my hours in half because one of the doctors are leaving. Long story short, I need to use my transcription training I did before nursing school and stay home for about a year, but everyone wants 2-3 years experience. How do I get a job? I can't believe I'm trained to do two different jobs and can't even get an interview.I don't want to do any WAH jobs, except transcription. I don't have money to invest in anything else.I CAN'T get a job as an LPN. For one, I'm EXTREMELY pregnant and for two, "good" money for an LPN here is $15 an hour. I would be LOSING money with 2 in daycare. Relatives are hundreds of miles away and can't help.Once my son goes to Kindergarten, I will be able to afford to work away from home again. My job doesn't give paid maternity leave. I'm not going to be able to pay my house payment the month I give birth. If I could get a job in a hospital (which I can't and I have connections through my Hus) the pay would be $12.25 an hour. How am I starting a whole new career? I have only worked as an LPN for 10 weeks. more

Resolved Question: Can a nurse licensed in Georgia work in California?

My girlfriend and I are thinking about a move to the west coast. She is currently in school to be a LPN and wants to be a RN eventually. We need to know if she can work in Cali on her degree from Georgia, or if she will need extra classes, or if it would be better just to go on and start the program anew there. Any help, or direction to help would be greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: How much does an LPN make on average in Georgia?

I am a student and my school does not offer a RN degree, which I really want. I heard that RN's make double what LPN's make. Is that true? I have a 4.0 average so far at my school for an LPN degree. Does my GPA make a difference on my salary when I graduate as an LPN?Thanks pennyroy...you rock! You uplifed my mentality and my drive, sometimes people need to hear positive like that! All the great stuff you do and put out will come back to you. more

Resolved Question: Are there any nursing schools that's easy to get into?

I was in nursing school at Brown Mackie, it's an easy school to get into all you have to do is come and enroll. There's no test or pre-reps required in order to start you just start taking your classes after you enroll. Also there's no waiting list at Brown Mackie and you can start whenever you want to because classes start every month. I was academically dismissed from the program, and I am upset that I lost a lot of time, money and energy going there, but I need to find another program quick. I checked around and I just can't find another nursing school where I could just enroll and start right away. If you know of any LPN programs that are easy to enroll in, I would surely appreciate it. Also someone once told me before that Atlanta Georgia have a 9 month LPN program, if you know of any LPN programs with the shortest amount of months would also be good. Thank You! more
