Okay long story but when i graduated when they handed me my diploma it was just a piece of paper stating it was being processed by the school board and it would be mailed to my parents address. That was in 2002 well my parents had moved and i moved also. I contacted the school board and they said i never took the Fcat/ hsct English part and i would have to do that first in order to receive it. after i graduated i moved to NC from FL and now im in pa. Does anyone know where i could go to obtain it? I read online you dont need a diploma to go to a community college. But i want to become a LPN. Will they accept me with no diploma? Voting Question: I have a BSBA ( bachelor of science & administration) I want to get into nursing. What is the best way?

I have a BSBA. I want so badly to get into the nursing field. My question is how do I go about doing that. Do I start at the beginning as an LPN? My thing is time I don't have 2-3 years to go to school in a classroom setting I have 4 kids and I am a single mother. I can bridge my degree to get a BSN, but there is only one school in Orlando that does that and its very competitive and I just don't have the time to wait, I kind of want to get my LPN nursing degree and then do LPN to RN online, so I can start working. Also does anyone know of any type of funding besides financial aid, my aid ran out for undergrad so I cannot get anymore financial aid until I pursue a Masters degree. Any help would be great I am just tired, fed up and confused. Thanks in advance.  more

Voting Question: Starting a career as a lpn?

I am 21 and have my GED I have 2 kids and stay at home. I always wanted a job in the nursing field. I live in Columbus Ohio. What I want to know is where to begin. I have been out of high school since 2002. I know look at colleges but all the stuff is sooo confusing. Like most of the nursing schools around me that I found gives you a list of all the classes you need to take before you can even apply to get in. Also I have searched the web alot and have seen lpn certificate programs are these the same thing as going to a nursing school. I would like to do some of my studying online if at all possible I know I would need lab time and all that. So if anyone could give me some advice on where and how to get started it would be greatly appreciated  more

Resolved Question: What NJ school doesn't require a SAT more than 950 for a BSN program requirement?

I just finished my lpn program in NJ and now want to advance and take the BSN program. It doesn't matter if I take the 4 year or accelerated program. The problem is, most colleges and universities that I've looked through required a SAT score of at least 1000. I only acquired 950 when I was in high school so it counts me out on all the schools I've seen so far. I don't trust the online schools. Does anyone know where else I can go?  more

Resolved Question: How can I attend school?

I am a single mom. I live with my dad who is a truck driver and gone a lot. My daughter is 8 years old. I work full time Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and have my daughter in school and then after school care until i get off work. She must be picked up by 6 p.m., no later. I desperately want to go back to school and study for Pharmacy tech or to become an LPN. I just feel discouraged because I dont have options for my daughter while I attend classes. None of the local schools offer saturday classes. What are my options? Should i just wait until she is older and able to stay by herself for an hour or two until my dad gets home, (cause thats obviously not an option now). How old is too old to go back to school? Also, online colleges are not an option. Any advice or words of wisdom or encouragement would be appreciated. I just want to be a good mom and be able to better provide a descent life for my little girl. I want her to have a mom to be proud of.  more

Resolved Question: Are there any Learn while you Earn Nursing programs ANYWHERE??

I'm a recently divorced single mom, and I really want to become a nurse, at the very least an LVN/LPN. I do not have any strong support network and working while going to nursing school just won't work right now. I am willing to move anywhere (in the U.S) if I could find an opportunity where I could work at a hospital and they offer training or some sort of program where you can work at the same time. I've heard of something like this but I forgot the correct name (sorry). If you know of any such opportunity please let me know. The community college nursing programs have a 1-2 year wait list just to START, and the private career colleges charge an arm and a leg. Or advice on medical careers that I could earn a degree online (and do clinicals ofcourse onsite). Any info would be appreciated. I really want to work in the medical field!! THANKYOU  more

Resolved Question: I just flunked nursing school. Help me to get it together.?

I was in my last semester and failed. I was in my last semester about 8 wks shy of graduation and I failed clinical. It had always been lecture and not clinical. This time, it was clinical and not lecture I flunked. Since I have gone so far and can't go back to this school, I will challenge for my LPN license because this was an RN curriculum. I can use the LPN to transition to RN but it takes so long to get in school. I'm 48; I'm getting aggravated. I can't afford to not work again for another program and I am thinking about online nursing since I have gone so far. If you know a route I can take that would be beneficial or know anything about taking on-line nursing please let guide me. I would greatly appreciate it. This was an associate degree program already. I am a single mom working full time and a little part time. I would like to go on and get my LPN, but I can't afford to go to school full time, can anyone tell me of a school online for LPN's. I have found RN programs like this but no LPN.  more
