Alert Jewelry Medical Questions asked
Open Question: Medical alert jewelry?
Where can I find attractive yet inexpensive medical alert jewelry? moreResolved Question: medical alert jewelry - looking on medical alert jewelry?
Where can i get medical alert jewelry through online store or auction? moreResolved Question: Silly question about jewelry in jail and prison?
What kind of jewelry are you allowed to wear in prison or jail? Are there exceptions if it's for medical purposes (a medical alert ID, for example) or religious? No, I'm not in any legal trouble, nor do I know anybody who is. I'm just curious. :) moreResolved Question: Where to get INEXPENSIVE Medical Alert ID Necklace?
I need to update my medical alert pendant, I currently have a dog tag type. But American Medical ID wants over $40 for just the basic one! That is ridiculous and I don't give a darn about them "putting me in their national database" because no medical responder is going to have to call them - they would call my doctor first! Sheesh, what a racket. And then on top of what they charge for the jewelry - they keep sending junk mail for a "donation" every year!!! They are WAY TOO GREEDY for me to even think of dealing with them again. So - where can I buy, online is ok, a medical alert ID pendant that is large enough to include a good deal of info? Even if it just pointed out "look at wallet card" that would be ok. So give me some good sites - and NOT American Medical ID! moreResolved Question: Where to get INEXPENSIVE Medical Alert ID Necklace?

They want $40 up front, plus $10 for the dog tag AND $27 for every year after that! That is insane. All I want is a tag, some engraving of major medical condition and a note to "See Wallet Card" why can't that be reasonably priced? I can get a dog tag engraved with similar info for $5! moreResolved Question: What Can I Add To Make Me Look Better In My School Uniform?

I just found out that I am very lactose intolerant; if I NEED to take a dairy aid (lactaid) before eating ANYTHING with even the least bit of dairy in it, should I wear a medical alert jewelry thing of some sort? Basically because I know some emergency medications have lactose in them... should I need to take one or be given one in an emergency should I get an identification thingy? moreResolved Question: Medical Alert Tattoo, what do you include?
I have recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and a heart condition. Lucky me!!! Not all lifestyle, a lot is hereditary. I am not a jewelry person, but my doctor wants me to wear a Medic Alert bracelet. I am heavily tattooed, so I thought I would get the medic alert symbol tattooed on my wrist, but, what script, if any, do I include? Do paramedics recognize the symbol, and just assume there may be issues and check for a wallet ID card? Or, would I need to have Medical Alert tattooed around it to inform them it is not just a cool tattoo? Any suggestions? Any paramedics out there that could help? Thanks!!! moreResolved Question: does nick jonas's dog tags have the medic alert sign on them?

I'm not sure exactly what it's supposed to say on Medic Alert jewelry. I mean, I know it's supposed to list conditions that might affect you and need medical attention in an emergency, or tell you to check a card that some people carry with them, but what exactly does it say? Is there a symbol for each condition, or a special code, or does it just say "Diabetes"? moreResolved Question: Does it matter what kind of "medical ID" jewelry i buy?
I have an allergy, and I want to buy a "medic alert" bracelet, but I have found some other jewelry makers online that make the same bracelets (companies like "Universal Medical ID"). Is there something special about the "Medic Alert" brand? Do doctors and hospitals prefer Medic Alert over other jewelry-makers? Is there any reason I should buy Medic Alert instead of another brand, like Universal Medical ID? moreResolved Question: help with an old commercial about old people?
There was a t.v. commerical aired in the U.S. sometime during the late 80's to early 90's (probably more the 90's, I can't remember). I use to laugh hysterically at it and I think it actually became part of pop culture at the time. It was a commercial about medical-alert jewelry (necklace) for older people/people who live alone/people with health problems. In the commercial would be an older person on the floor and they would say "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up". (I don't think that intrinically is funny, but the phrase became a hysterical line to use often, whether ethically right or not). Any ideas about where this commercial was from? Company? Anybody know if it still airs? Is it on YouTube? moreResolved Question: Where can I buy medic alert Jewelry?
I'm looking in particular to get a pendanent style necklace where you can put a piece of paper in it outlining the persons medical history/conditions and treatment. Its for my Dad who has a number of life threatening conidtions that couldn't be engraved on a bracelet (just not enough room!) moreResolved Question: Is it harder for paramedics to do their job if a person wears medical I.D. jewelry that is not the standard?
I would like to know if paramedics/firefighters know that many people nowadays wear medical I.D. jewelry that does not have the standard chain and plate. If a person had what looks like regular jewelry on do paramedics/firefighters look closer at it to see if it has the medical alert symbol and is a medical alert I.D.? Like if a person had a medical I.D. bracelet only the bracelet had beads on it instead of a chain, would paramedics notice that this person has a medical I.D. bracelet on? moreTop Alert Jewelry Medical Links
