Brittney Griner plays women's basketball at Baylor University in Texas. She is very talented but in my opinion, looks and plays more like a guy than a girl. She stands 6'8" and is said to still be growing. When you see photos of her she is almost completely flat chested and has a very muscular (manly built) body structure. When you hear her talk in interviews, she has a somewhat deep, masculine voice. There is a possibility she has a weird balance of hormones where her testosterone dominates her estrogen. Growing up, I've always love football. My family used to support me and signed me to a local football club in the next city here where I live. From the age of 12, my family urges me to forget about football and take on basketball like most Filipinos. But basketball doesn't flow in my blood. I knew then than I'm a futbolero or footballer in English. I played for the same club from the age of 12 till high school when I was ineligible to participate in that league any longer. Through out my career with this club, I was always either an MVP of the team or the league. I was a goalkeeper and a striker. Best of all, my Mom and my Step Dad actually supported me and participated a lot with my club. Then came high school and I joined the school's football club and made Junior Varsity my freshmen year. I was a starter playing both forward and goalkeeper positions. I was an MVP player for my JV squad as a goalkeeper with, according to local news paper, the most Clean Sheet in our school league. The next school year, I didn't make the Varsity squad because the position I play are filled with talented lads already. Then came my Junior year and I was given a spot in the starting lineup of my Varsity squad. I didn't stand out as a keeper so my coach put me up front because of my speed and my finish. Senior year came and my spot for Varsity was given away by a new Head Coach. I didn't make the team due to my absences the first two weeks of training because I was visiting my family in the Pacific. With other things in mind after graduation and so on. My life took different paths and turns that I have no control of. After high school, I needed to find a job because of my nagging step father. But it didn't stop me from playing. I was always the first one to arrive at a near by park everyday to practice and to get ready to play a pick up game with others. During this time, neither I nor my family have enough money to put me to college. But one day coming home from work, stumbled upon a park full of people playing football. So I ask to join and jumped right in. I always carried a pair of boots and football in my car. There I was approached by a gentleman who asked me to play for his club. A club that participates in the Development League here in the US. Without hesitation I said yes and participated in my first three matches as a starting forward until my life had to change again without my control. Long story short now, I ended up in the United States Air Force. Now I'm out of the military, I want to get back into playing football. I'm very passionate and dedicated about the sport and I know that this is the only job that can keep me happy in my life. I don't care much about money, I would immediately accept a contract from any club from any league in the world. As long as my job allows me to have a roof over my shoulder and allows me to eat everyday. But I live here in the US and here in the US we have a system. In according for me to be a professional footballer, I have to attend a respectable college that participates in the NCAA to get recognized by clubs in Major League Soccer. But I don't want to study anything, all I want is to play football. My friend is urging me to move to Japan where he lives and join the Development Squad of Urawa Red Diamonds of the J-League. The Japanese version of Manchester United. He said that all I have to do is move there and go to the club's office and speak to someone about joining their academy. Which is free of charge by the way. The only draw back is that I don't have enough money to fly to Japan, I'm an American citizen and very family oriented. I need some honest opinions from people. Please!By the way, I'm 22 years old and sadly, while playing football last year at the park, I broke my leg and dislocated my ankle at the same time. Though this did not stop me. I juggle in my room almost everyday and I dribble the ball around nearly everywhere I go around the house. That's including going to the bathroom. It's how dedicated I am.I had a surgery last 4th of July and recovering quite fast and well. I have a metal plate that attaches my ankle to the rest of my upper body along with 8 screws that are permanent. But this is nothing, I can't live without football. more

Resolved Question: Anybody know a fix for Audio/Video synch problems while watching CBSHD?

The Basics: 52" HP Plasma tv (1080i) DirecTV HD DVR no home theatre setup, using tv speakers My problem comes down to one station only and thats CBS and my problem only occurs when watching HD shows. Whenever I watch a show like C.S.I. or more recently the NCAA basketball tournament, all of which were in HD, there is a slight delay between what I see and what I hear. The delay is maybe less than 1/4 of a second, but it's VERY noticeable. I'll see someone talk, but I won't hear it until 1/4 second later. This was extremely annoying watching basketball the last few weeks when you'd see the ball go through the net, but wouldn't hear the "swish" until the other team inbounds the ball.. This also happens on every show broadcast in HD as well as the local CBS news, which is in hd also. Any shows on CBS that are in standard definition are fine. Also any other shows in HD on any other channel are fine as well. My problem is only with my HD service on CBS. Any suggestions more

As you may have heard, Tennessee has refused to renew the contract with UConn. That means the biggest rivalry in women's college basketball is on the brink of extinction unless they meet in a tournament. New news has reported that the reason Tennessee has refused to rnew the contract is that someone supposedly spotted Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird talking to the new recruit, Maia Moore. Tennesse brought their case to the NCAA, but the case was dismissed due to the fact that Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird were playing basketball in Russia. The question is wether or not Tennesse should be punished with this false accusation?It was low of Tennessee to even decide to end this game. Afterall, this is the most demanding game of the season. Then I heard about the real reason for this and I could not believe it. I personally think this should not disappear without punishment. I ws very clear that Pat Summit hated UConn. Afterall, UConn destroyed almost all their records within only a few years. She was only looking for an excuse because she knew that there would be a lot of angry fans if she just ended it. Tennessee may have beaten UConn the past couple of years and won the national championship, but with Geno as their coach and players that are supposed to be good such as Maia Mooore, Pat Summit knew that UConn is only going to become better. Please read my first question posted with this same title about 40 minutes ago. I heard the statement on a TV news channel several months ago that the NCAA had not graduated a single black athlete in ten years. I must have heard it incorrectly. While I cannot find the source for that statemnet I will include this statement and it's source. I assume that the statement I heard probably refers to a more recent graduation rate at NCAA colleges, but this will say alot. Resolved Question: Why is the NCAA Selection Committee racist?

Instead of placing Jackson St. in the play-in game with Florida A&M, a Niagara team that should have been a 15-seed ended up there because the Selection Committee is "sensitive to the historically black colleges" (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2796072). To me, this is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard: who cares about what race the students are, they are the two worst teams to make the tournament!! Why don’t we just go out and say that white basketball players are as good as black players, does this mean that teams with more white players should get a seeding boost as well?
