Organize Small Closets Questions asked

Open Question: Do you have any tips on organizing a small closet?

I have a two bedroom small house. My husband and I have a lot of stuff and the 2 closets are really small. Our clothes and shoes and stuff are in the closet in the bedroom. And we have our holiday decorations and other storage stuff in the other closet. However, I have more stuff I would really like to store in these closets. Any advice on how to make these small closets hold more stuff or how to store things in the extra room w/o it looking like a storage room? (i.e...I don't want a bunch of rubbermaid boxes stacked against the wall.) FYI the second room is mainly used as an office and our dog's crate is in there and there's a futon in there for guests.I'm planning to get rid of some of the stuff as well. I just need some ideas on how to go through it and organize it. more

Resolved Question: How can I organize my bedroom?

My room is kind of small. I have a twin sized bed, a book shelf,a night stand,a dresser, and a desk. Above the desk are two shelfs covered in stuff. Theres drawers under my bed filled with stuff and my closet is filled with stuff too. I have some posters and pictures hanging on my walls. I dont have much room left so how can I organize? I want to put some of this clutter somewhere. I cant spend to much money either. more

Voting Question: How can I organize my small bedroom better?

I have a small room with a big bed, big closet doors, dresser, a dresser with a mirror on the top, night side tables (2), and a desk. I know it sounds like a lot, and it is, but I need some organizational tips please! I have lots of necklaces that i hang on my wall with tacks right now and a shelf with my tv on it. I need lots more space. How can I do this with little or no money? -Kaila <3 more

Resolved Question: I'm cleanin my room and I can't decide what to keep and what to throw out. It's really cluttered and messy!?

I know I don't need this stuff, but it has sentimental value. I'm always like I haven't used this in forever, but it was my favorite when I was little or something.I'm thirteen so I can't go out and buy a bunch of stuff, so please don't recommend that. If you have tips for deciding what to keep, give away, and throw out that would be great. So would FREE organizing tips (meaning I don't have to go out and buy stuff). I have a small walk in closet with only two small walls that I can use. they are about a foot each. I have a dresser with 6 drawers, a desk with hutch and two drawers, a double bed,a night stand with three drawers, 2 chairs, and a dog cage in my room. more

Resolved Question: Need help/ideas organizing home office/craft room on a budget?

My family of four has a "collect all room" which has all of our hobby materials, books and our home computer. The room is rather rather small (8'x10'), plus a closet that is about about four feet wide and about a foot and a half deep. We have two bookcases--that are over flowing with books, papers, binders, scrapbooks etc, a metal storage closet, and two desks that hold either the computer, printer or hobby supplies. I've gone through and gotten rid of books and supplies that are unwanted/could go elsewhere, but I still find that things pile up on the floor or over flow. The rest of my house is cleaned up, but for some reason this room becomes a mess in less than a day, how can I better organize it so this doesn't keep happening. Any ideas, preferably cheap, would be greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Isn’t ironic that the reason I don’t agree with most gay issues were my years in at a gay fraternity?

I was very active in a gay fraternity my freshman and sophomore years in college; I was the treasurer of my fraternity. Instead of making me a bigger supporter of gay issues, it made me a big opposer in gay issues. 1.- GAY PRIDE: I remember how the fraternity members would pressure and almost bully new members to tell their friends, parents, and people at work that they were gay. I was always against this, most of these new members were under 20 years ago, I was under 20 back then. A lot of these new members only wanted to be listened, only wanted to meet other gay people; they were not there to be bullied out of the closet. Many times I felt uncomfortable by the pressure from the fraternity to always wear something with a rainbow on everywhere, especially to work. What made completely disagree with Gay Pride was the Gay Pride Parade; many children were there watching half naked men acting like crazy and others dressed up as women. I think kids should be aware of what gay is, but not by parading semi-naked men on the street. 2.- WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE GAY: I don’t think people are born gay. In my case, I think it was because of having nothing but sisters, my dad never being around, and me being heavily bullied at Elementary school. However, there was never any room for any debate or talk about this; you HAD TO agree that gay people are born that way. I think it’s terrible the gay community doesn’t want anyone debating this; there should always be room for debate. I finally left the fraternity after the fraternity organized a protest against the library to remove any Psychology and Psychiatry book that didn’t teach that gays are born that way. 3.- GAY MARRIAGE: Being around so many gay people made me realize how illogical is to fight for gay marriage. Gay men are very very promiscuous, only a small number of gay couple ever last more than 4 years, defending the gay marriage seems illogical. Some people tell me the reason gay men aren’t together for too long is because of society, but I disagree: most lesbians have proven they have very long long monogamous relationships unlike gay men. I will support lesbian marriage, but not gay marriage. I don’t like the way the gay community wants to impose their perspective on these gay issues. Since there’s no room for debate on the gay community, I feel can’t be a part of it. Isn’t ironic that the reason I don’t agree with most gay issues were my years in at a gay fraternity? more

Resolved Question: How to decorate my TINY room?

My room is small: I think 9' by 11'. I have a dresser that is three feet by 1.5 ft, and average sized loft bed with a desk beneath, two book shelves, and a door in the NE corner, a closet on the north side toward the east side and a window in the north west corner. Any ideas of how to organize my room? Need BOTH my bookshelves still and don't mind buying new furniture. Please just suggest something because I am tired of the cramped area. By the way, I cannot put my dresser in my closet. PLEASE HELP!!!!By the way, I have two large mirrors in here to make it bigger. more

Resolved Question: What is the best way to organize my clothes?

I have 1 small closet in my bedroom (if you can call it a closet, its more like a little square its so small), 1 dresser in my bedroom, and another small closet in the guest bedroom that I use. My stuff is really unorganized and I'm looking for some advice on how best to organize it. Should I separate the clothes by season.. or dressy/not dressy.. Maybe I should keep jeans and plain tank tops folded in the drawers, there's no need to really hang that stuff up. Most of this stuff I never wear, I just keep it because I never get the opportunity to buy new clothes. I can now though so I may end up just throwing all this old stuff out. Idk my stuff is just really all over the place with no organization to it. I'd really appreciate some suggestions, thanks ^.^ more

Voting Question: How can I improve on this?

Sorry, I'm back again, I need harsh criticism, tell me what's bad, but if you do, tell me what I can do to make it good. Compliments are also welcome, but I really just need to know how to make this the best it can be. Brutally point out my bad grammar if you notice anything wrong. Ainsley smushed her mashed potatoes flat with her fork. "I want to move..." She sighed, clumsily dropping her fork on her plate making a sound that caused her cat, Oscar, to run from under her chair. It was Saturday and she was sitting at home eating dinner by herself...Again. She hated her small town and the people in it. Except for Gabe and Sandi, the only decent people she'd ever known. Her mother was idly ironing one of her fathers starch, long sleeved shirts in the family room. "Hmm?" Her mother asked, distractedly. "Never mind," Ainsley huffed. She stood up, annoyed, though not surprised, that her mother hadn't been listening. She didn't bother to clear her place at the table, she wasn't in the mood to be doing her mother any favors, it's not like her mother did anything for HER. She was used to being practically invisible at home, her dad was always off on some business trip in Arizona. She wasn't even sure she knew exactly what her dad did for a living. If she ever asked he simply said "Sales, Ainsley, you know that." He didn't pay much attention to her, likewise, she didn't pay much attention to him. She dragged herself up the stairs to her bedroom where she lied down on the beige shag carpet, too lazy to walk five more steps to her unmade bed. She closed her eyes, happy to be alone, though mad at her self for not restoring her room back to her version of "clean." Her room was littered with the clothes she had rejected when picking out her outfit the night before, which wasn't very different from how she usually kept it. She liked an organized mess. Her rule was: Anyone could come in her room, but no one was allowed to fold anything. But no one ever felt the need to enter her room anyway. She sniffed the air and quickly wrinkled her nose, she had been too busy having a pity-fest in her head to realize that something smelled awful in her room. "Ew..." She complained to herself. "What IS that?" She looked around for the source of the stench that reminded her of sweaty gym socks and moldy cheese. She opened her double-doored closet and peered inside. "Charlie!" She shrieked when she saw what was causing such an unbearable smell. On the floor of her closet was a shoe box. The same shoe box that allegedly kept popping up in random areas of the house. She had heard her mother complaining of a bad smell multiple times, but Ainsley just dismissed it, preferring to believe her mother was losing it.Ainsley is depressed and bullied at school, I haven't addressed that part yet, but that is why she is so whiny. She will get better. more

Resolved Question: How can I have fun cleaning?

My house used to look big, fancy, and luxurious. Thats until I started "collecting" dolls. My room is full of dolls, doll furniture, doll clothes, and other things. Same can be said about the basement. I figured I need to be more constructive. All I do all day is play games and go on yahoo answers. So I decided to clean the house. My mom is a super pack-rat, so we put random crap in the attic instead of throwing it away. I started missing my clean, beautiful house. So why not clean it? I have an idea of how I can clean my room (as well as the basement) without stressing myself out. 1. Put old stuff I don't use anymore in boxes and take them to the attic. 2. Put trash in the trash. 3. Take out the trash. 4. Put stuff in the droors. 5. Clean the surfaces in my room. 6. Put old clothes in bags and donate them to charity. 7. Neatly organize my closet 8. Decorate a box and put it in the closet. 9. Put stuff in the box. 10. Decorate another small box 11. Put clothes in it for my baby dolls and put it on a table in my room. 12. Dust off the books in my bookshelf. 13. Put my small dolls/action figures on the shelf. 14. Replace my bedsheet 15. Take old dull posters off my wall and put up new ones. 16. Decorate the droors with cute stickers. Any tips on how to do all of that stuff and have fun at the same time? What else should I add? more

I have 9 pairs of Converse and I dont have anymore space to put them in my closet. I have a very small room and a closet (It isnt a walk-in or anything fancy). Resolved Question: How can i organize my small closet?

My closet is nothing special space wise - looks exactly like this: http://www.newyorkcondoloft.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/tiny-closet.jpeg Heres my situation: I have a lot of clothes and my collection of jeans and such is always increasing because i go shopping and find great bargins, anyway. the thing is i currently have three huge shelves going across that are spaced out. now that leave no room for hanging clothes. so all my clothes are folded on top of each other. to make matters worse i have tons of shoes and i want to find a good location to store them all. how can i organize my tiny closet so that it more efficient for me. Resolved Question: How to Convince Parents to Let you Switch Rooms?

Okay, I love my room now. But it's too small. I need a bigger room. The spare room is bigger, plus it has a walk-in closet as opposed to a normal small closet that you can't walk in or store much in. In my room, the furniture is not hard to move at all. Same with in the spare room. But in the spare room there is A LOT of stuff in the closet, which I could easily take out and organize. I already asked my parents, but they said no. It's annoying because they say 'no' just to make their lives easier. Please help me convince them to let me switch rooms... it's not a big deal. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: How can I make it so that my transparent storage bins aren't see through?

I have about 20 storage bins in my closet (it's a big closet) that I use to keep supplies and things I need every now and then. My closet has always been looking really cluttered and I realized that it's because I can see all the stuff in those bins!! I want to keep my stuff (no, I am not a hoarder, I just I'd say that because the way I'm explaining my situation sounds like I am) and I can afford a whole other set of bins. They're fairly small, there are two sizes a 16 quart and 6 quart, about 10 of each. I am trying to figure a way to make them not transparent like they already are. I had one idea of covering them neatly in construction paper (I have large sheets of it) and even color coding them to make it easier to organize. Any way I cover them I am going to label so knowing whats in them is not a problem. I am asking this question because I was wondering if there are any better ideas out there. Do you have any suggestions that might work better that the construction paper because that is all I could think of that's easy. I was thinking about painting them but in the long run the paint will eventually peel off or wear away. Thanks for your ideas, suggestions, and help. :) more

Voting Question: How can I keep my room clean 24/7?

How can I keep my room clean 24/7? I'm a girl, 13 years old. My room is very small. I'm pretty sure it's a 10x10 foot room. I just got a new dresser with a mirror on it, it works wonderfully. But my room is really really messy all the time. I have a few clothes hanging in my closet; as I made it as a little nook thing, where I go and read and stuff. I have a white bookshelf that I use for my perfumes, deodorant, earrings, etc. I have these storage bin things like these: http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/CanadianTire/0423014_1?$medium$&defaultImage=image_na_EN I have another one, a small one, with 4 little drawers. I use the little one for hair stuff and markers, crayons, etc. I should really clean those out actually. But as for my hair straightener, and my hair dryer, they're on the floor in a tangled mess beside my CD player. Where can I put those? I have my dirty laundry in a hamper, but I need to get a new one, mine's ripped. I need all of your tips and tricks that you have to make my room clean, please. =) I need tips on storage and everything too. If possible, it'd be helpful if your answer was kind of detailed. I love to organize, I'm great at it, too. =3 more

Resolved Question: How should I organize my clothes to make a bedroom to a small walk in closet?

I am moving into an apartment with a room that is not very insulated (will get hot and cold depending on seasons) so I am going to make it into a closet for myself.. I have MANY clothes that I hang up, and besides putting dressers in there, I was wondering what I could buy to hang all my clothes in? It's not made as a closet so there are no racks, and I was thinking to buy the clothing racks that can be wheeled around, but they are SO expensive!! And they would not fit many clothes on.. do they make huge ones that fit A LOT of clothes or bars that I could put in (even though it is a very big room I don't know where to put the bars).. someone help!! Thanks! PS-I don't want to have to fold my clothes that I normally hang up I do want to hang them up somehow!Thank you so much Jen! I also didn't know how it would be installed-? Right into the wall? Or does each end have to go into a wall? The room is VERY big, and it would not be able to extend from one side of the room to the next... this may seem like a stupid question, but help! :) Thanks! Plus its an apartment and if it does fit into the wall, I don't want to make too many holes with a bunch of these racks.. more

Resolved Question: bedbugs: why only her?

been living in this 2 floor house all the 18 years of my life and never had a single critter in my room. No bedbugs, no roaches, no spiders, no mice. The rest of the house? Not so lucky. It's DC, so it's popular for its mice and roach infestations. I don't mind them, lived with them all my life and learned that it's a psychological thing with society that rejects mice but adores bunnies. Anyways, my elder sis doesn't think the same way and her rooms chalk full of bed bugs. So what's so different between my room and hers? They're right next to each other, so the bedbugs could just come suck my blood, but they don't. They seem hellbent on attacking her. She cleans weekly, I clean once in a blue moon. She shouldn't be having bedbugs cuz she's a clean freak! I'm a lazy slob ( correction: a BEAUTIFUL lazy slob, lol, I'm a total narcissist) anywho, i want to know why. The differences between our rooms are: She has carpet flooring, I have hardwood flooring She has a king sized bed that she shares with her man and 2 year old kid, I have a twin sized bed for my own use that I'm constantly moving around cuz it's got WHEELS! hahaha, bed with wheels+harwood flooring=hours of pretending I'm surfing. Either I'm moving it for that or just to use it as a seat in some other location of my room her room is 15x15, my room is 10x10 Different content in the rooms: lots of hard surfaces in my room (tv on my wall, computer, printer, router, internet box, desk) with the exception of the small closet I keep closed all the time that has my clothes organized in drawers, my bed that is, of course, made of cloth and my curtains. Oh, and I have a lot of paper in my room Sis wouldn't have any hard surfaces if she didn't have normal walls. the idiot even threw out the metal frames the bed is lying flat on her carpet floor. with her many blankets, soft teddy bears, and fluffy things. Maybe since I have so many hard surfaces and i like to dance alot, i'm stepping on them and killing them before they have the chance to bite me? Maybe I'm freezing them since I always leave the AC on at 64 degrees on high? Or maybe they don't like the stench of 5 day old sandwich I'm too lazy to take downstairs to the trash? Or maybe they can't stand the loud music I play all night long as I dance to my favorite techno jam? Or MAYBE, it's because I'm always moving around in my wheely chair and they can't catch me? Whatever the case may be, i have no pests in my room. ONLY my room. My sis is soooo clean, she vacuums AAALL the time and she's always going into a cleaning frenzy, it just doesn't make any sense. Why haven't any roaches or bedbugs or spider come into my room in the 18 years that I've lived in this house? more

Resolved Question: What are good, affordable storage options to hide clutter in an office?

I just moved into a new apartment, the den/office is huge but I can't seem to get anything organized. I have a walk-in-closet with 2 rows of shelving (those annoying white wire kind) and all my papers seem to fall through. My desk is really small, just like a secretary/bill paying desk so everything usually ends on the floor. I love color, particularly teal blue or browns, our den is painted a light yellow with white trim and tan carpet. I don't want to spend a fortune and anything I can do craft-wise would be best, but nothing too difficult. Any suggestions? I had boxes from Ikea but they are hard to reach and can get heavy. more

Resolved Question: Is there anywhere in Florissant, MO that sells cheap furniture?

I'm trying to organize and break more into this home that I live in with my boyfriend. However, we're still 1/2 in boxes, some of our rooms are full of them (and dog hair) we don't have any storage devices-- heck, we don't even have a vacuum cleaner or a dishwasher. Since we're low on money (we're all young- just out of home with our parents, and own a house...so no spare moneys for us) I'm looking for cheap furniture places. None of those old, stuffy styles (ie, no wood items, nothing fancy- minimalist is preferable). I recently found out there's no IKEA out here- I didn't know, since I'm not from around here. Is there anywhere with furniture under a hundred bucks? We're looking for a desk/bookshelf/cabinet/CD organizer with drawers that can hold up a mini fridge, a buncha books, two laptops, and fit in a small room. As well as an affordable office chair. Anything over a hundred bucks is out of the question entirely, and we can't drive out of the state or really out of the city at all since gas is too expensive; we also have small cars. Along with this, the place will need to contain storage devices (cheap plastic ones), mats, cleaning supplies, something to grab for lunch nearby, and mini shelves to arrange our shoes since we use one huge closet. Voting Question: HELP. My room wont stay clean!?

Okay so I have a semi-large bedroom and no matter how hard I try to keep it clean something always seems to mess it up. I have a really small closet and it takes way too long to hang up my clothes everytime I wash them. They normally end up going in a pile on my floor... The thing is... I always know where everything is when my room is a mess. I know exactly where everything is. It just bothers me that its such a mess. I've spent hours on it; organizing, throwing away things, sorting, redecorating, and moving things around but I just cant seem to keep it clean. I try to put things away but I dont have money to go and buy things to organize my room. I've read up on it and people basically just say a little at a time does the trick but it doesnt for me. Resolved Question: How to organize my room so that it will stay that way?

I have a very small room and although I'm not complaining, it just makes it hard to stay organized. I usually do an overall sweep and get rid of things that I haven't used in a few months, donate clothes, etc. so I'm not really a pack rat. I have a bed, desk with no drawers (so I bought those sterilite clear 3 tier ones), a tiny bookshelf, a vanity and a bedside table. My clothes are well organized by color and I keep my shoes in this clear hanging organizer. The only problem is that the rest of my closet is messy. I have a bunch of notes from previous classes that I hang onto in case I need them, but it takes hours to find those papers because they are shoved away in random folders (I label them with the class, but still it's just a stack of papers). I really want to keep my room clean and organized but I have no idea where to start. I try assigning things a home but it never is logical and I always end up messing the system up. What can I do to keep things in shape and less messy? more

Voting Question: How do we organize an awkward closet?

We have a closet the length of an entire wall. It is only about 2 1/2 feet deep, 12 feet long and there is a 6 foot opening/door. There's space but it's very small and thin. And the space behind the wall is difficult to get to. Any ideas on how we can make the most of this awkward space? more

Resolved Question: Should I turn my spare Bedroom into a toy room for my daughter or something else?

I am finishing my attic and turning it into the master bedroom (it has a normal stairway, not one that pulls down from the ceiling). I am having trouble debating on whether to turn our room that we will be moving out of into a toy room for my daughter. She has a small room and a small closet. I am going to get her new furniture for her room (shes 14 months) so it can all be matching. I am curious if any other parents decide on a playroom so their child's room can stay clean, or what? We have a small garage that consists of bikes, green house, snowboarding things, tools, freezer, etc. My plan was to make that into a workout space because I have a huge elliptical, and I plan to get a treadmill along with some sort of weight set up, and I would like to put a tv and a stereo system with big speakers so I can play music while I workout. Then my husband says, "well why don't we turn the spare room into a workout space?" So I am super confused on what it should become. If I decide to go the route of garage=workout room, and daughter's room stays the same, then I have a few more questions LOL. Have any of you turned your garage into a workout space?. If so, any tips? Also, those of you who have to organize your child's room: What are your tips for organizing clothes, toys, bedding, etc. to keep the room looking like a room and not every corner and every wall having some sort of "container", or toy box, Like my daughters room! :((. I would like to have a spare room for guests or an office, Or combining a toy room, along with a guest room, but I am sooo confused on how to go about that. HELP. And thanks a lot for answering my questions. I know it is a lot, but i am indecisive and have indecisive people in my home! LOL. more

Resolved Question: How to organize my clothing in my closet?

I've got a closet that is probably 4 feet wide by 4-4 1/2 feet tall, and pretty deep. It's got a top shelf and I've put a shelving unit with 2 shelves in behind where my clothing will hang (for my shoes, hats, delicates, etc). But how should the clothing be organized? I have 20 or so pairs of jeans that I've got folded and tucked into the shelving unit, quite a few hats, scarves, 5-6 pairs of shoes and boots, probably around 20 or so tops and dresses, 1 skirt, 2 blazers, a coat and around 15 sweaters. How should the clothing be organized in my closet? I mean, what clothing items should I pair in groups and should I seperate sweaters/coats on one side, and then tops on the other? I feel like the closet looks like a mess..what is the proper way to organize this small closet? more

Resolved Question: Help with my little sister's birthday present?

My little sister is 9, turning 10 on May 23rd. Her name is Carlyn and she is my only sibling, so I wanted to do something special for her for her birthday. What I was thinking was that I could start saving funds right now and have enough money to completely redo her bedroom. Some of her interests include fake food, Littlest Pet Shops, hanging out with friends, scrapbooking, Webkinz, Build-A-Bears, and watching Disney Channel. She is always creating fake businesses (right now there is a cupcake bakery, an ice cream parlor, a boutique she calls Cute As A Button and a school set up in her bedroom) and she loves to play house, so I can understand that she wants her room to seem more like a home for when she does role-playing with her friends. She also likes Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, so I was thinking of incorporating some of their bedroom ideas and tastes into hers. Here is a picture of what her room looks like currently: (excuse the messiness) http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad278/hannahprusse/carlynbedroom.jpg All of her walls except for one accent wall are painted honeydew green with the exception of the furthermost wall painted deep purple. In her room for furniture, she has a twin bed, a small bookcase, a small dresser and a small desk, all of which are white except for the bed, which is finished in wood. Her favorite colors are no longer purple and green, but yellow and, how she phrases it, "misty blue." What I would do is: -Paint the walls -Deep clean the entire room -Organize under her bed and in her closet -Clean the carpeting -Buy new furnishings -Personalize (maybe a C on the door or the wall?) I created a short survey for her to fill out yesterday regarding her bedroom. The information is below: 1. Do you like your bedroom? Why or why not? -No. Completely unorganized. 2. What would you rate your bedroom on a scale from 1-10? -2 3. If you could change one thing about your bedroom, what would it be? -Everything. 4. Do you like the colors of your bedroom? Would you change them if you could, and what would they be? -No, and yellow and misty blue. 5. What is your favorite part of your bedroom? -My bed! 6. What is your least favorite part of your bedroom? -Everything else. But I have to choose, THE WALLS! Then I handed her a pen and a PB Teen catalog, asking her to flip through it and mark off the things she liked or wanted. I learned she loves polka dots while looking at all the things she starred in the catalog. I wrote down everything she wanted on a piece of paper and checked the prices. The grand total came to $1,066.00. In the things she wanted were a blanket, new bedding, a bedside lamp, a polka dot rug, a floor lamp, a peace sign wall light, a polka dotted pillow, a doughnut phone personalized with her name on it, a lounge seat that flips four different ways, a laundry bin and a chandelier. This excludes shipping. The price is very high already, but I would still need the find the cost of paint, tax...you get the point, it's a lot. What I need your help with is figuring out if this is a good idea, getting assistance on how to carry out the whole procedure, other cute ideas for what I can put in her room, or any cheaper but still cute furniture companies or websites that I could use as substitutions for PB Teen as to lower the cost of the grand total. Thank you very much for reading. I hope you will comment and help in some way or another. ♥/M more

Resolved Question: making room in small living area (closet and office)?

I'm thinking about moving in with my boyfriend and right now trying to brainstorm ways to create space for my clothes. We would be sharing his bedroom, but it does not have a closet. As of right now, he is using those pop-up closets that have plastic covers on them to protect his clothes. Being that he is a guy, he only needs one...on the other hand, my built in closet in home is very stuffed. I need a way to see my clothes easily and have them stay organized. I like to organize my tank shirts, dresses, jeans, etc. If I buy one of those closets, I think it will make the room look like a storaage room and tacky. The other storage issue I thought about was I have a desktop computer and he has a small desk...I do not know the best way to make room for a computer because the desk is very narrow, but works for his small laptop. Any ideas would be fantastic! If you have any websites with decorating ideas or storage units, that would be fantastic! Trying to visualize it. He wants to start decorating the room, but we are new at all this, so ideas would be ver appreciated! Thank you in advance! more

Resolved Question: What are the odds that she stole from me, and how do I confront her about it?

About 3 weeks ago, I had 2 friends over to get ready with before a party....I showed my friend Emma a new pair of boots, and she was like "oh my god they're so nice I love them" i obviously didn't think anything of it and just appreciated the compliment without any suspicions, so i left the room here and there giving her opportunities to put them in her bag (she had her school bag with her and it's very roomy)...anyways, i had no reason to doubt anything but now im thinking twice.. anyways, i wanted to wear them today so i looked in my closet but they weren't there. so i pretty much turned my closet upside down looking for them, in the vestibule, on every shoerack, my mom's closet, everywhere.... didn't find them. (my house is really neat and organized so..) and emma here is quite the thief.. once our class was leaving the room but we had to leave our bags inside and once everyone was out she asked me to look around the class with her for any "good stuff" before we left.. she also lost the graphic calculator given to her by the school so she stole someone else's out of their bag. evidence against her: -she saw the boots, she liked them -she has a history of being a thief -she was alone in my room for minutes at a time and could have put them in her big bag -no one else has been here since so it can only be her (the other girl arielle is a size 5 and those boots arent her style evidence for her: -she's my 'friend' -she's about 2 sizes smaller than meto Eboni: no we have never argued. well financial difficulties, I mean we're teenagers so yeah, but her family is lower-middle class. and yes her whole group of friends (i am not very in it) steal from eachother more

Resolved Question: I Need Help With These DispoSe Garbage Journal- My English Is Not That Well... ASAP! 10PNTS?

The best way we can dispose of our garbage is by using bags made of natural materials and reusing them to carry our groceries. Reclining any product we can such as paper, metal, glass, plastic and plants materials give us a healthy environment. Using a good alternative is helpful in this cases. Landfill are actually healthy ways to dispose of certain waste products. My building is build with garbage chutes on every floor carefully and tightly we package our trash to dispose them. I decided last Tuesday to take out those clothes I won't use anymore in my closet. My house has a closet for extra storage space, something that benefits us greatly because we keep extras stuff though not used now, but in the future. Now we enter spring I need to rid of of those unused clothes I won't wear anymore for now on In order to have more space and void bad smell in my closet. Before deciding what to do with them I went to the laundry to have them clean and ready to be pack.My coats and jackets always give me a problem since I can't have them all together tend to smell bad specially when it rain,so are the one that first go out of my closet. If they still usable, then I donate them to any charity home for a good cause instead of throw it away. After I separate my clothes according to their type. I First started with my pants since they are too heavy and use a lot of space in my closet. Most of the time I don't keep my sweater so I prefer to give them away as they tend to succeed or wasted with time, but those who choose to keep are held in my drawer. The shoes are very hard to keep as are used tend to smell bad all together if plan to give them away. Although shoe boxes are a lot of space I always keep them for this kind of situation. On friday I always go to the supermarket to buy some food and personal things. I bring own bag to purchase groceries. It's simple one to reduce resin waste. When I purchased hair color, each package included a container, a brush, gloves manufactured by resin. It's one time used because I can obtain a same one for net purchase. Buying products with as little packaging as possible, of course from eco-friendly companies save us time, money and space. When came home went to the kitchen. What I first did was to check the refrigerator since there its where my mom put a lot of unused stuff that we tipically have to throw away often. There were two expired meat so I put them together in a newspaper to avoid contamination. Two Water and juicy leave empty to prevent any liquid in the trash. Usually I disposed 5 or 6 can of soda per week. I separate them from the other item in a bag as there are many people who use them to get money to eat or etc. When I took there where a lot of sausage, bean cans, and corn 5 of each, I was suprised since it made me realize how much money we waste on things that most of the time we don't use. Sunday was the day to clean my room! I Spent a few hours taking out everything from my drawers, organizing, and throwing out what I no longer needed to dispose any old and unused materials. I opened the window for ventilation, specially my bedroom that is so hot! I always started using my eletric broom to make sure that I don't leave anything under the bed. Since I work in a retail store I'm always buying new stuff such as clothes, accesories, gum and etc.. I used this kind of days to throw away those that expired or if not need it anymore. I put in a small bag two rings and three watches to dispose them away. My niece have a lot of toys of her in my bedroom. I refuse to throw toys in the trash because it wastes my money and because it's definitely not good for the environment as it sits in the landfill when it could have been recycled/reused. But I need space in my bedroom and kids are always asking for more. So I had to throw away 3 of them. Recycling is a truly over-rated way to improve the environment. There is a great underestimation of the available space and capacity of landfill areas, certainly in the US, and probably worldwide as well. There is also no real crisis in our most recycled resources, either aluminum and glass are still cheap to produce, and there are still enough trees around to make paper cheaper from the tree than by recycling. The stuff in the trash gets buried deep in a landfill in an anaerobic environment, and so does not decay. The stuff you toss down the disposal gets ground down and flushed away, where it can go back into the environment. more

Resolved Question: About how much do closet organizational systems cost?

I have two closets. The first is rather small and holds my suitcases, book bags, totes...etc. as well as my accessories such as scarves and hosiery. The second is a walk in closet that holds my clothing. I've been thinking about having someone come in and install an organizational system/help me organize my closets as there never seems to be enough room for all my stuff. I'm not really concerned about using eco-friendly materials...my main concern is the cost. Would anyone who has had one of these systems installed before give me some information about the cost? I'm basically looking for a general idea of what a project like this would run me. Please no links/ads. and no chat speak. Thanks in advance. more

Resolved Question: Is this a good start?

I'm writing a story, and I'd like to know if this is a good start/introduction to the character. Why does school have to happen so early? Why can't it start in the afternoon? It's obviously a conspiracy... I just haven't figured out what They're trying to do to us. Before I open my eyes I know it's early. The sunlight blares down on me, my eyelids warm. I throw a small fit, pissed because I didn't wait for the alarm. I sit up quickly, the covers falling down my chest. I pull the cover over my legs, climbing out of bed. Scooting to the bathroom I drag my feet across the warm hardwood floor. My stomach growls as I climb into the shower. This is going to be a day to remember; I can feel it. This is the trip I've been waiting for all week. We're going to the Museum of Historic Landmarks, which is basically a place where people put old things that nobody wants. History is probably the worst class this year. I got stuck with Mr. Lotting. He's the biggest douche in the school. We're finally getting out of his class all day. The entire History department is excited. The steaming water hits my back roughly, dripping down my body. I open my shampoo and squirt some into my hand, rubbing it in my hair. The trip was first come first serve, and luckily I was one of the first ones. My brother and I, should I say. My brothers a bother. All he wants to do is hang out with me. That's not going to happen. I continue to shampoo and rinse out my hair, humming a tune that I heard on the radio. Ellie's not going though. Her parents are going through some things, and the fifty dollars it cost to go to the trip is out of the question. That and she lost the permission slip. Ellie's been my girl since freshman year. Two years ago I asked her to the dance and she said yes. Ever since then we've been together. I, on the other hand, have had the slip in my history binder since I got it. I'd do anything to escape Lotting's class. I turn off the shower and wrap a towel around my waist. Stepping out I slip and grab onto the towel rack. I run gel through my hair, my fingers reaching every inch of my head. I then brush it down, most of it covering my eyes. I brush my teeth and head to my closet. I pull on some band t-shirt, my ripped jeans, and a pair of nikes. I grab my jacket and pull it over my shoulders. I look at myself in the mirror. My boxers are poking out of a hole on my thigh so I pull them down to cover it. I look fine. "Brady! The bus is here! Hurry up!" My mom calls from downstairs. I roll my eyes and run to the window. My brother Eric is walking out of the front door. I turn and run to my nightstand. I run across my bed and reach for my backpack. Two binders fall out as the bus honks. Eric must have told the driver I was coming. I quickly grab one, slamming into my backpack as I dash out of my bedroom door. I take the stairs two at a time, kiss my mom on the cheek and run out of the house. I can see the driver's glare before I reach the bus. He's not keen on waiting for kids. I mumble an apology as I look for a seat. My friend Matt is looking at me, waiting for me to sit by him. I dodge loose feet as I walk down the aisle. I plop down next to him as he starts to mumble about some stupid comic. I organize my backpack as the bus bounces. I take out the folder that fell minutes ago and look for my slip. After minutes of shuffling I realize that my history binder is in my bedroom. I slam my head on the glass window in anger.I forgot, the chapters are named after songs I was listening to to get the feel for the chapter, so this one is "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train. more
