Why cyberspace isn’t, and will never be, nirvana By Clifford Stoll | NEWSWEEK From the magazine issue dated Feb 27, 1995 After two decades online, I’m perplexed. It’s not that I haven’t had a gas of a good time on the Internet. I’ve met great people and even caught a hacker or two. But today, I’m uneasy about this most trendy and oversold community. I am slightly red/green color blind. I have always wanted to be a pilot since I was a kid. I have pretty much accepted that I cannot be an Airline Pilot. I am still interested in getting my Private Pilot License. When I fail my color vision test, what does the "NOT VALID FOR NIGHT FLIGHT OR BY COLOR SIGNAL CONTROL." mean for me. I understand the night flight, but what does the color signal control mean. Can this be fixed by just having a radio in my airplane? Can I fly in and out of a tower controlled APT? moreResolved Question: should walkie talkies be checked in when flying on American Airlines and Japan Airlines?

My Husband was fired from his job due being late. He was in NY for the weekend and his return flight was canceled due to he weather. He called his employer (Cooperate AT&T) right away to inform them as he was to be at work the fallowing morning. His flight took off late the next morning and was also delayed in the air for 2 hours and could not land, there for he was late to work BUT he did show up to work a partial day. A MONTH passed by and he was called into a meeting with his managers and was informed that he was being fired due to this incident. He asked why was he being fired a month after the incident after they said it would be excused due to the circumstances. They said after thought and even after that paperwork from the airline that he submitted it was still inexcusable and that he should have found an alternate rout home. Mind you he was in New York and we live in San Diego California all the way across the country!!! So after he was fired he was escorted out of the building without his belongings. He never received his personal belongings HR stated they were thrown away, his radio, Clock, his I pod and other things... On top of that he tried to get unemployment and was denied due to the fact that the company said he voluntarily quite his job!!! Which is not true he was fired! The entire month that he worked after the incident was marked as none existent!!! Records say that he quite the day his flight was canceled that he just never showed up again!!! Impossible he worked just over a month after and was even receiving a pay check like normal. How can we fix this situation!!!I would like to add that my husband was under contract with AT&T there for he could not be fired with being allowed the opportunity of appeal along with having the right to a union rep. according to his employee handbook. And has ALL the necessary documentation that support his side as well as support from his direct supervisor whom is doing her best to help but fears loosing her job in doing so. moreResolved Question: When navigating to a VOR station, how do you know what course to follow?
Hello, I am a flight simulator X fanatic and airline pilot hopefull. I have recently started the lessons that are offered in FSX and just finished the VOR lesson. I died after Katrina and was dead then I came back (on a Monday) with a belief, that anything could happen to anyone at anytime, but you had to be there...you had to suffer to die, you had to breathe to live and hope mattered only in the evening news for those who could not believe, because they were not there...if they had been on Airline Highway, they would have believed...if they had heard the cries over the radio at 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning, they would have believed...if they had tasted the smell of death and rotting history that permeated the minds of those who were there, they would have believed... and now those that are there, believe...they believe it can happen as sure as the next big one taking everything they have...they believe as sure as the anger in their hearts was driven down to lift up those who had less than them...they believe that tomorrow's sun was all they needed to find a reason to go on...and they believe they deserve this victory, because they are there...they are survivors and they have the one thing all the naysayers and haters don't...a belief, that since they are there, they can win moreVoting Question: Can't find this song anywhere (i have part of the lyrics)?
I have part of the lyrics in broken bits I heard it on an airline, in the 'club' genre radio station lyrics in the middle are somewhat like: he don't appreciate _________ cocky thinks he's the only one i know you a nice girl _______ treasure spray on the lovely fragrance so i can take you to a mile away she's a nice girl hey mister i'll take her hey mister i'd to love to show her the finer things hey hey (i'm not sure if the words are all right, but most of them are, and they're all broken and stuff)its not hey mister by custom. it sounds similar to a higher love - dj jurgen moreResolved Question: Should obese people have to pay for two seats on a flight?

Hi everyone! I have just purchased an old wards airline console radio model 62-1100. I believe it was built in 1938. The brand seems to be well known but i am finding little to no info about my particular model online. anyways, the radio itself fires up but the speaker wires were cut and are hanging around in back of the speaker. I noticed i am missing the pronged speaker wire plug that fits into the chassis speaker socket. Although i don't have the schematics on the radio, I would really like to test the speaker to see if the radio has some life left in it. The problem is though, is that i have 4 speaker wires from the speaker and 5 holes in the chassis socket to choose from. Does anyone know which wires go to which hole? Is it possible for me to test this radio? Any information is greatly appreciated! Thank you!Thank you very much! This helps out a lot! To answer your question, the speaker has a large wrapped coil on the back of it. I believe it is a permanent magnet. I do have a volt/ohm meter to safely check lines. 300 volts sounds pretty scary and I don't want to zapped anytime soon. Upon cleaning up the radio a bit more though unfortunately I seem to be missing one of the audio output tubes. do you think i'll still be able to hear something from the speaker even if its missing? Thank you again. Thanks! that will help out a ton if i can get a hold of all the schematics. Although the ones you linked to me are really similar and are helpful. Oh I was also fortunate to find that the missing tube was taken out and wobbling around between the cabinet and the chassis, so I am not missing any parts anymore! Oh and thanks for the contact info. I'll let you know if i have any more questions. Thanks again, especially for your time and research. moreResolved Question: Have the new proposals by the government for airline safety been rushed through without much thought?
On the radio today Alan Johnson said that passengers on transatlantic flights would not be told where the position of the plane and that an hour before landing they would not be allowed out of their seat, this was to ensure that the terrorist would not know when to explode a bomb over a US city. 1 hour before : well most people and terrorists would have an idea they where nearing their destination if they were told they had to stay in their seat and they could just look out the window anyway to see if there was land below or they where still over the sea. and he also said that they would not be able to to access their bags from 1 hour before ,well you just take what you need out as soon as you enter the plane. Is this another rushed through idea? Would it not be better to stop all hand luggage apart from babies essentials and medical items (they would have to have security additional checks) and subject every person to a physical body search by somebody who knows what they are doing ,if they object they don't fly ,much more secure than mr Johnson idea's. moreResolved Question: whats the best operating system?

2 months and about 5 days, she is the most adorable little thing ever! We had her shipped from such a great, caring breeder the other day Dec 21. She went through hell with Delta airlines (NEVER use them by the way!)...we were supposed to pick her up at 8pm and didn't get her until 11pm, the poor thing - they "lost" her for 3 hours...turned out instead of being sent to the cargo dock, she was sent to the terminal and was spinning around on the luggage conveyor for a good hour and a half before someone noticed nobody picked her up, and eventually someone brought her to lost baggage...sounds cute, but unreal-we were worried sick...but she made it okay and was happy to get some love...she was sort of scared and timid the first night...the next day Dec 22, she loved spending time with us in the morning, naturally, but my girlfriend had to go to work 10-530 and I stayed home with her the entire day. We live in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment, and we put her little kennel on one side of the apartment and her puppy pee pads in the bathroom. Originally, when she wined, we let her out of her kennel to go to the bathroom...she did her little circles and as soon as we saw that combined with sniffing we immediately picked her up and put her in the bathroom on the pee pad. She hated it and squealed all the way there and eventually didn't go to the bathroom on it, but instead lied there for several minutes. I think we have the answer to this now, as we have moved her pads closer to her bed so she doesn't have to go hunting for it, and she's definitely better already today, on day #3. One thing I am concerned with however, is that at night (last night specifically) she cries and cries! until we broke down and put her in bed with us and she just conked out in a second! I know, I know, I've read not to do this or else they will take over the whole house, but we feel sooooo bad! Right now I'm sitting in an internet cafe writing this...I've only been away from her for 1 hour since day 1 and locked her in the her kennel (not as a punishment or anything at all...with treats as a matter of fact) and walked out the door feeling TERRIBLE, having hear her cry. I left the radio on, and she has a few bones, a KONG toy with a treat stuffer in it, a towel for comfort, and a little furry doll to play with in her kennel, as well as some warm water...haven't gotten a chance to get her any extra toys, heartbeat pillows, or a timer etc. Does all of this sound normal? I'm not going to leave her be alone for more than 2 hours, because I know she can't hold her bladder for that long....so I'm headed back to check on her as soon as I'm done with this (BUT I NEEDED FRESH AIR!!)...since she hasn't had all her vaccinations and we live in NYC, it's advised that she doesn't walk outside for the first 4 or so months...so that's why can't take her for walks etc..We're taking her to the vet early next week after xmas and will hopefully check with the vet then about some of these things...but should I just leave her in the kennel all night long and put ear plugs? I feel sooooo cruel doing this...it really hurts me! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Also, I forgot to mention, the breeder had her on diamond dry food only...not mixing wet and dry, and my girlfriend and I have her the dry diamond and wet iams puppy (only yesterday), and she had diarrhea. We stopped the wet food today, thinking it was too much for her little stomach, but she had diarrhea today also, and a little blood at the end of the stool. She had a rectal exam and passed...any thoughts on this would be good too. Thanks moreVoting Question: Backstage or front row Concert Tickets?

A guide at Windsor Castle was struggling to make herself heard over the roar of low flying aircraft coming into land at nearby Heathrow. She was interrupted by a tourist who demanded what was wrong with the town planners, and why had they built the castle so close to the airport. The highlight of a cruise liner's visit to the Alaskan port of Valdez was a guided tour of the southern end of the great 800 mile pipeline through which, the guide informed them, some 1.3 million barrels of oil came daily from Prudoe Bay in the north. When he asked if there were any questions, someone solemnly enquired, `How do they get all those empty barrels back up to Prudoe Bay?' `Good home wanted for year-old Basset bitch. Understands every word I say, but ignores it.' Card in Portsmouth shop window. A group of tourists escorted around the British Houses of Parliament suddenly found themselves in the presence of the then Lord Chancellor, Lord Hailsham, resplendent in full wig and gown. Spying behind the group the figure of Neil Marten MP, the Lord Chancellor called out in greeting.`Neil' with dignified vigour. And all the tourists did. A tourist, on a driving holiday in Britain was reported to have been overcome by the Cotswolds but astonished at the number of villages with the same name. `After Chipping Sodbury,' he said, `there were three villages in a row called Loose Chippings.' An English classics scholar, trying to impress his tour party colleagues on holiday in Athens, offered to converse in Greek with the local ferry officers at the docks to enquire about departure times. The locals, after recovering from fits of laughter, then revealed to the rest of the group, in perfect English, the scholar's question: When do the galleys sail for the Isle of Aegina, O sailors?' In 1981, fifty San Francisco nudists arrived in Miami for a national convention to find their airline had lost all their luggage, including their clothes. The 1982 Association of British Travel Agents conference in Phoenix, Arizona, had to change its venue at the last moment when it discovered that its original hotel had been double booked. The story is told, apocryphal no doubt, of the DJ working on a small and remote radio station in Scotland midway through his programme late at night on 1 October 1977. News came to the station that Bing Crosby had died (the station producer happened to be on the phone to the States and picked the word up almost as it occurred). The DJ thought he could possibly be the first person in the UK to publicly announce the death, so he put on a long track and rushed off to record library to get an old recording to play. Upon returning, nervously excited by now, he put the first record onto the turntable without looking at it and broke into the record then playing with a sombre voice: 'I am deeply sorry to have to inform' you listeners that I have just received news from America of a great tragedy. The legendary Bing Crosby is dead. As a humble tribute, I would like to play one of his songs,' and as he switched over to his Crosby 'selection', the melody was beamed out, 'Heaven . . . I'm in Heaven...' The Earth is flat. That's why people use flat paper maps and not globes to get around every day. GPS displays are flat. Walk out of your door -- unless you live on a hill -- it's FLAT. You deny what you see every day and even how you directly experience the Earth. Yes, the Earth is a globe, but that's not important or useful in the daily life and business of just about everybody. The only one's that have to treat the Earth as a globe are airline pilots planning routes, people in charge of rockets, satellites and missiles, gunners calculating a ballistic ranges over 25 miles or so, radio antenna engineers and such. Well less than 0.2% of the population. Most astronomers treat the Earth as a mere point in space -- that's not the same as a globe. For everyday life on the surface of the Earth it is very accurate to call it flat. Everyday in all your actions your commutes, bike trips and walks you deal with it as flat with hills, yet you call it a globe! That's crazy! Yes, I can see why you Al Gore pod people were easy to fool about man-made global warming. moreResolved Question: Quiz: How Well Do You Know The Internet ? (Google Search)?

I've advertised a room for rent on Craigslist. A women form S.Africa has responded saying she is coming to England for a 6month media course with the BBC in Bristol. She wants to send me SA$3000 in advance and then I'm to purchase her airline tickets and deduct a months rent......here's the e-mail.......... ******About payment: I intend arriving 10 december. My 1 month Voice grooming at the local BBc radio at Bristol start 5th January 2010. Probs is ive been granted a $3,000 travel cheque (equivalent £1,700GBP) to pay for my accommodation and flight ticket inclusive. It was supposed to be arranged by agency. I found that most UK agencies charge exhobitant handling fees! And their room rent per month or week are killing too. So im left with you to help. So what i plan doing is asking my ceo to re-issue it in your name for payment of rents/deposit. Ofcourse it will include money for my flight ticket. Thus after you deduct your rent amount, you will give £700GBP to the SAA agency to book my flight from your side. Simply go cash the cheque from the airport or any uk post office. My time is close at hand, very near. If you are willing , let me call you to explain further. Or simply give me name to issue it in and address to send it by courier on or before banking hours of Friday. Is it okay? ******* Is it some sort of scam? I saw these posts below by a few other YA users that seemd to be well informed and I wanted to repost them and get people's thoughts" "When popular, and democratically elected leader Mohammed Mosaddeq was removed in a coup. After he nationalized the oil from the British, who turned to their buddy the U.S. using the CIA created operation Ajax. Removing Mosaddeq from office and enabled Mohammed Reza Pahlavi to gain power. The United States and Britain effectively split 80% of the oil profit from Iran. The Eisenhower administration believed its actions were justified for strategic reasons. ... But the coup was clearly a setback for Iran's political development. And it is easy to see now why many Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America in their internal affairs This is what really led to the hostage crisis. If we had left our noses out of Iran's business their popularly elected leader would have stayed in office. The reforms he sought for Iran would have been implemented and we would probably see more democracy in the Middle East. Many will argue that by nationalizing the oil Iran was headed in a socialistic/communistic direction. Truth is this was about corporate profits." "The country that is to blame for the enmity with Iran is the USA. Can you imagine the furor in the USA if an Iranian battlecruiser had shot down a US airliner in US airspace with 290 people on board, whilst trespassing in US waters? Fox news would be going into nuke-Iran overdrive and so would the halfwits who watch it. yet when the USS Vincennes shot down IranAir 655 in 1988, the USA blamed the pilot for not responding to radio calls (ignoring the fact that they were to the wrong aircraft), refused to pay out compensation, and refused to apologise. George HW Bush said at the time "I'll never apologise for the United States, ever. I don't care what the facts are". Can you imagine the US reaction if an Iranian ship shot down an American Airlines jumbo, and Ahmadinejad said he'd never apologise for Iran?" "I think it would have been a lot better if we didn't show the intent of undermining their government over the past 50 years. In 53 we overthrew their monarchy, and during the Iran-Iraq conflict we supplied Saddam with chemical weapons and guns and since then our relationship with Iran has went further down the shitter. Would you want to seek possible negations with other nations if over the past several decades they haven't show a single sign of good faith?" Airline pilots?....on airliners we all know there is a Captain and a First Officer.....(Pilot and co-Pilot) The aircraft is designed to have the pilot in command sit in the left seat and the second pilot sit in the right seat. (radio number 1 operates off of the hot battery bus in case of total loss of generator power) Who does the FAA consider to be the "Pilot in Command"? Is it the pilot flying the aircraft....which is a duty handed-off back and forth during any given flight....or is it always the pilot in the left seat no matter who actually has their hands on the controls? Does the FAA recognize the titles of Captain and First Officer...are those FAA designations?....or is that technically window dressing for the flying public?...titles that the airlines created.Facinating, thanks to both of you for great answers. Did you know his trial is over? Did you know he was sentenced? Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio? Didn't think so.!!! Everyone should hear what the judge had to say. Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court. Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his 'allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah,' defiantly stating, 'I think I will not apologize for my actions,' and told the court 'I am at war with your country.' Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below: January 30, 2003, United States vs.. Reid. Judge Young: 'Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you. On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4 and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.) On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines. The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further. This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence. Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before.. There is too much war talk here and I say that to everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice. You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier, you are not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice. So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: 'You're no big deal.' You are no big deal. What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today? I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know. It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom.. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom, so that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely.. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges. We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden; pay any price, tContd pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure. Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice. See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America .. That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will. Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down. So, how much of this Judge's comments moreResolved Question: Anyone else listen to www.977music.com to earn points?
I've been listening to online radio for years now and I just found out I can win cash, concert tickets, airline tickets and more just for listening. Anyone earning points from them and have you ever redeemed those points for the stuff they are giving away? Seems like it may take a while to earn points for listening but if your listening anyway why not win something. moreResolved Question: What is your personal view of muslims?
Mine; "Religiously motivated terror attacks" What religion, other than islam, is there that is continually posing a threat to the public. We all know of the terrorist attacks. All those people lost. The taliban. al-Qaeda. Terrorist acts have included airline hijacking, kidnapping, assassination, suicide bombing, and mass murder. What sort of religion promotes death and suffering. Islam. That's what. The qu'ran has been proven to have been tampered with numerous times to change the book's entire meaning. Muhammed was a sick pervert. What religion will have honour killings, for a wrong relationship etc. "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies" Quoted from the qu'ran. And another more interesting verse; O prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be harsh against them. Their abode is hell, and an evil destination it is. [Qur'an 9:73] O you who believe! Take not the Jews and Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guides not a people unjust. [Qur'an 5:51] And fight them until there’s no fitnah (polytheism) and religion is wholly for Allah This makes it very very clear to me that this religion will not stop fighting until they have gained control over this world, and have made it of only one culture and one religion; theirs. It's sad that not many can see this, that we must respect these people so that they kill no more of our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers... They've gained the respect they wanted, and they're still not happy, why? Because they want their religion to control this diverse, multi-cultural world. A Sunday Times survey taken in UK shortly after the 9/11 attack "revealed that 40% of British Muslims believe Osama bin Laden was right to attack the United States. About the same proportion think that British Muslims have a right to fight alongside the Taliban. A radio station serving London's Pakistani community conducted a poll which 98% of London Muslims under 45 said they would not fight for Britain, while 48% said they would fight for bin Laden. They want all the benefits of living in this country, yet they don't want to be british, they don't want to mix, they want to create terror. Oh also, how many asian support lines must there be now, imagine the uproar from these hypocrits if we had a "Non-asian helpline" If anybody rebels against this religion for having a brain, be aware, you may be killed for their honour, or have acid poured down your throat. http://www.3news.co.nz/News/InternationalNews/UK-honour-attack-Sulpheric-acid-poured-down-mans-throat/tabid/417/articleID/113817/cat/61/Default.aspxNo, ethan, wrong quess i'm afraid. I believe in a God of love. He belongs to no petty religion.Yeah maybe so, "K", maybe so, except catholic priests don't have organisations globally trying to inflict world terror. There we go again. Harping on about education when i have had one. Tell me, muslim terror supporters, where will you be when the anti-muslim rioting begins. Because believe me, it will. moreResolved Question: Where can I buy the cheapest airline tickets from Tijuana to Oaxaca, Mexico?

Another recent question asked this topic. The general answer was that Avionics are not affected by electronic devices. MY QUESTION is: Why do you think this is? Do you think Airline Avionics are no affected by electronics carried aboard by passengers, because the modern Airplane cockpit itself already has multiple radios and computer devices which must act independently of each other? you see my point? Society has already evolved to the point of mulitple electronic gadgets existing within the environment of a single end-user, so whether a passenger brings an electronic device has become an irrelevant point.excellent! all good answers!!! One more thought though that nobody considers. People who bring stuff aboard airplanes, whether its a computer or a cell phone, keep in mind, the signals are already there. The cell phone or other electronic device merely receives a signal that is already there, traveling thru that location from whereever its transmitted from!!!!!....again, all good answers!! Let me pose a question to what William said. Whereas he told us a cell phone on the ground engages signal transmitters of multiple cell towers and eats up ground capacity needed for emergency communications like police and ambulances. Okay, but then why are the phones that they supply on aircraft now so safe??? Could it possibly be that there are some analog or digital networks still available for limited phone accounts like phones on airplanes? [the latter question takes into account the fact that analog phone service for the general public has been non-existant for ten to fifteen years; About three years ago, AT&T was phasing out their Digital network; they were not signing up new digital accounts. Today, cell phone service is close to being 100% GSM networks. And I think now they have something to replace the GSM technology, this thing they call G3, if I have the name correct.] moreResolved Question: a question about celtic fans going to away games in europe?
what causes the air rage?? The Mirror (London, England) July 6, 1999 A DRUNKEN Celtic fan frightened a flight crew so much they couldn't go on their next flight. Paul Walsh, 35, from Dublin, became abusive towards Aer Lingus staff as he travelled to a Celtic-Dundee game in April. Yesterday he was found guilty of breach of the peace at Paisley Sheriff Court. Sentence was deferred. Celtic fans' flight warning The Scotsman February 27, 2003 PAUL DRURY MORE than 150 Celtic fans were given a warning by an airline pilot yesterday after claims they had been smoking in the toilet of a plane travelling from Glasgow to Stuttgart. Cabin crew on a MyTravel flight discovered traces of cigarette smoke on the Boeing 737 aircraft, which was taking fans to the German city for the UEFA cup clash with VfB Stuttgart tonight. The incident came two months after Celtic fans were arrested when another charter aircraft, returning to Glasgow, was forced to divert to Cardiff. Yesterday's flight had been in the air for 80 minutes when a flurry of activity was noticed at a toilet. The captain made an announcement to the fans, who were travelling with representatives of tour firm Cambuslang Travel. He said: "It has been brought to my attention that someone has been smoking in the lavatory. The consequences of a fire on board at 25,000ft are too horrible to contemplate. "This is something which we, as an airline, take very seriously. In fact, we have had several people jailed for this offence in the past. Please refrain from smoking for the next 40 minutes, when we will arrive in Stuttgart." In December eight fans were arrested following claims of a smoking incident and will have to return to a police station in south Wales next month to face possible charges under the Aviation Act. Paisly Express 9th November 2006 Two Celtic fans are expected to appear at Paisley sheriff court this morning following an air rage incident. The men aged 25 and 33 are accused of shouting and cursing at cabin crew on a flight home from Lisbon. It is claimed at one stage, the plane's captain was subjected to verbal abuse when he tried to calm the pair. Minutes later, the captain radioed ahead for police to be waiting on the ground at Glasgow Airport when the flight landed. After the plane had landed safely, officers went on board and arrested both men. They were handcuffed and taken to Paisley's Mill St police station and charged.http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2008/04/18/air-drunk-abused-passengers-and-sang-pro-ira-songs-86908-20386452/ moreResolved Question: What song do they play in a airport/airline ad?
i know many people think it's 'i still call australia home' but i know it's not that. I sometimes hear it on the radio, and i remember hearing it on a quantas ad once when they we're trying to tell us how amazing the world is and we should go see it, and they we're showing people from all over the world. The song was some sort of afrian song, but it had a orcastra playing in it and there was a choir singing a few lyrics over and over again going: heya bum bum bum, Heya bum bum bum. And someone told me when it was on the radio that it was called 'the children' or 'children' or something. But i don't know really and cos it doesn't have many lyrics i can't find it.
