Open Question: What do you think about this annoying statement?
So the other day my friend and I were talking about something that she heard on a radio talk show as she was driving one morning and the two men were talking about some guy who cheated on his girlfriend. But what bothered us both was that one of the hosts said something like, "I bet his girlfriend was a 4 and he was average looking, so of course if a 9 hits on you you're gonna get on that". My friend and I were just talking about it and hoping that this view only reflects a very small percentage of jerks and not a lot of men, or heck, women. What do you think of this asinine statement? moreOpen Question: Does this statement have any merit?

Pretty much not a lot of chance of this working, but it's starting to bug me so i figured it was worth a shot....basically there's a song that I always figured was by U2 because it sounds so like them in every way. Their kind of style as well as sounding the same voice wise. Well anyways it was on the radio and when it finished, the DJ said it was by ____ whoever the artist is, and that the guy from U2 who writes most of U2's material is really jealous of the song and wishes he had written it...wild stab in the dark, but if anyone can think of any songs that sound like U2, let me know and i will try and hunt down this darned song! Apparently it was a one hit wonder :)Oh it's a really up-beat song by the way. moreOpen Question: What's the name of the machine that radio hosts use to hit a button and play a sound effect?

So my civic with a gsr swap is acting up. Sometimes the gauges will go crazy and the radio will turn on and off. I once had the bright idea to turn it off in the middle of the street while this was happening and it wouldnt turn on again, luckily i was able to push start it(manual tranny). But it happened again and turne off on its own. When u pushed started it again it was idling at extremely low rpm and as soon as i took my foot off the gas it went dead again. My friend came and gave me a jump, didnt turn on so he hit the starter with a wrench and hammer and we tried again and what do u know, it started. The only words I can remember was when a guy says "you smell nice" in a stupid voice - i think some of the song is supposed to be dumb/silly like that. but it was on the hit radio stations often and it is probably Pop R&B type, i believe it was mostly popular n the summer too. does anyone know what it is or any other words or anything about it for that matter? moreOpen Question: Can you help me find this song?
This is going to be the most general description and I'm sorry, but here we go. I heard the song on the radio, so it should be somewhat popular (broad assumption I know). There were either multiple female singers or it was one just singing different parts and overlaping, you get the point. I'm not sure what to classify it is, it had that sort of gospel feel to it, solid beat and every now and again the singer would go up and hit a high note or two over the actual lyrics. It wasn't really gospel, nothing about God, and it wasn't Hip-hop-ish with the weird beats or synthesized sounds. If it helps I am almost 100% sure that the singer(s) were African American, it just had that feel. I actually don't remember any of the lyrics, although I'm pretty sure there was a lot of the vocal stuff that wasn't actually words, just syllables and noises that sound pleasing for that type of music. However, they're might've been a line that had "free your" as the start, still pretty unhelpful though. I'm sorry it's so general, it was a really good song though (I thought) and I want to find it again, even if you can only provide a small list I'll go through them all. Thanks! moreOpen Question: Does anyone now how to trick yahoo radio!?

every year our local fire department hosts an appreciation dinner for wives & girlfriends of the firefighters. these wonderful women put up with radio traffic being part of the household background noise, interupted dinners & outings, worrying if we will be back every time we run for the door when the tones drop. i have been organizing these dinners every year for 6 years & am trying to come up with some fresh ideas for a dinner program. we do the usual speeches & toasts with some awards etc. dress up the community hall & serve dinner & drinks. this year we were rocked to our knees when 3 of our own passed in the one year & i have put together memorials to our fallen brothers. but we do not want the evening to be full of sorrow as we should be celebrating thier lives & deeds. & while we remember & honour our brothers, we want the dinner to be a celebration & thank you to the women who are just as much a part of our department as we are,,, perhaps more so. anyway,, i am hitting a brick wall for ideas & would appreciate any suggestions. thank you moreOpen Question: Does anyone know the name of a soft rock song by a black male singer in 1990's & it was also a country song?
It was a slow love ballad. I also heard it done by a country singer on the radio the same year. This was the only song I knew of by this artist on the radio at the time but I think he was african american and if memory serves me right I saw a video and he may have had dread locks, possibly. But I can't be certain. I was so young at the time. I'm not sure what his other music was like, but his version of this song was much better than the country version. I've combed through lists of top songs from the 1990's and nothing rings a bell. It used to be played on the radio all the time but I haven't heard it in years so it may have been one of those one hit wonders? If anyone knows the guy who sang it...possibly an african american guy maybe with dreadlocks who sang soft rock, adult contemporary in the 1990's, please let me know. I've searched the internet for hours trying to find it. Thanks so much!I don't think it's Maxi Priest. moreOpen Question: Really need to figure out the title of this song! Please help!?

A Date to Remember 9/11 remains one of the most shocking moments in most people’s lives. My life in particular was affected drastically by the burning of the twin towers. No one I knew deeply or was in close contact with was hurt by the event, but my life was changed forever by watching all the people who had suffered, and all that they had lost. What I wanted to do with my life had not been clear to me till that point, I realized that I wanted to be able to save people’s lives, I wanted to be a doctor. I will always wonder what was going through the terrorist’s heads as they flew their planes to crash into the twin towers. Did they think of all the lives they would be ruining? I went home on that fateful day, and my parents started watching the collapse of the towers. I stood there, watching the TV, stunned by what I saw and heard. What I saw there caused me many terrible dreams and drove home the fact to me that there are fanatics in this world, for everything, no matter if it’s good or bad. For there is no doubt in my mind that if I could be affected so much by their attack where no one I know was dramatically affected by it, I know that they have changed the whole world. When people think of 9/11, I’m sure that the first thoughts that come to their minds are horror, devastation, and fear. Over time these feelings must have dulled, but for me, the shock is still there, the same as the day it happened. I was riding home from school with my mom, in our car. We were just driving out of the school, and I was staring out the window, watching the trees start to blur. I was idly listening to the radio, which my mom had turned on, and I picked up a few words, which were enough to make me interested. “Planes…Towers…Crash………Hundreds dead…” I turned around and started listening more intently, as my mom did. Little did I know that what I was hearing on the radio would launch several countries into a war that would take over five years and hundreds of lives on either side. I barely understood what was happening, but as I listened to the reporter’s stunned silence, I began to comprehend the scale of the disaster that had just happened. I asked my mom if what I had just heard had really happened. She told me that she couldn’t believe it either I watched the TV that day, in my living room with the fire burning, causing the room to become hotter and hotter. My parents sat there, watching the disaster unfold on the couch, while I pulled up a chair. I felt that the room was becoming to hot, as the scenes I was watching became just as unbearable. I watched the towers collapse over and over again, sending massive clouds of debris and dust everywhere obliterating all streets nearby them. In the days that followed I watched people being pulled out of the rubble screaming in pain, with lost limbs, or burned beyond recognition. Their were children who had their parents taken from them, which to me at that time seemed one of the worst possible things to happen to you in the world. It was at that moment in my life, in the days following 9/11, that I realized what I wanted to do with my life. I was only in 2nd grade at the time, but I have held true to my goal of becoming a doctor ever since. People have asked me why I want to be a doctor. I tell them that I don’t just want to be a doctor; I want to be a neurosurgeon. Then they normally ask me, “Well why do you want to be a neurosurgeon?” I say that it’s just because I don’t want my life to go to waste, and I want to be able to help other people regain some hope when they think that they have none. The reality is, that that’s not the full truth. My decision was almost made for me by the catastrophe of 9/11. When I saw all those people who had been hurt, and how their futures held almost nothing for them, I realized that being able to give people their future back would be something that would give me great pleasure. I saw people whose brains had been hit by fragments of glass and metal, who spoke gibberish, or who just couldn’t speak at all. Then there were the people who had seen so much horror, that their brains had just simply left them. In my mind, having a loved one who has lost their mind is almost worse than knowing that they are dead. Time is said to heal all wounds, and no matter how much you love someone, you should eventually be able to get over their death. But if that person is still alive, everyday is a constant reminder of what has happened to them, be they young or old, their life has been ruined. A young person has their future taken away from them, and a very old person has the chance to say goodbye lost. A few days later, I began to hear the miracle worker stories, of how doctors had cured seemingly incurable patients. The families could not thank the doctor’s enough. In one story I watched with my parents on the news, they showed a doctor who had just cured a patient of a mental disease, and then they showed the family’s tear-stricken faces as the moreOpen Question: suggest some more songs for my ipod?

I heard a song on the radio that the announcer said was a huge hit in Cape Verde and among all Portuguese speakers all over Africa. I didn't get the name of the song or the singer, but the singer (female) kept repeating what sounded like "solau". Does anyone know the name of the song and/or the singer? Thanks moreResolved Question: Do you get annoyed when rap/hip hop artists get famous (read whole question)?
Hey guys, sorry for the long question it is kind of my opinion but I would also like your input My questions kind of all over the place but what I really wanted your opinions on was if you are annoyed at the new generation of rap and hip hop, and why. Just when someone gets real successful, widely recognized for their music, and radio play people automatically shut them off as "mainstream crap." My feelings are, do you really even know music and were you really even a fan to begin with? Just because an artist has a hit doesn't mean they've "sold out" or they're not considered "true rap" or "true hip hop" anymore. PEOPLE NEED TO OPEN THEIR EYES and NOT JUST LISTEN TO WHAT IS ON THE RADIO Take Drake for instance, I'm a HUGE fan of his and have been for many years, even back when he was barely recognizable for Degrassi but still making music. He has literally hundreds of songs, they're fresh, WRITTEN BY HIM, they are not crap and I can appreciate the lyrical content as REAL. Now Drake is finally getting recognized for his talent (which he deserves!) and people as I've seen are shutting him (and other artists as well) off as mainstream and not real artists. (And, to these people, I challenge you to listen to all these artists music, if you still don't like it, then it's a shame!) A couple of days ago I answered a question and I actually had a bit of a laugh, someone claimed they didn't consider Drake a hip hop artist. Clearly, this person was ignorant and probably doesn't listen to a lot of hip hop music but HELLO this IS what hip hop is today, get used to it, because Drake and many new artists out there are going to be the next generation of music!! SO! My question to you is, are you the kind of person who gets annoyed or angry when a rapper who WAS unknown is now known (ex. songs are on radio)? Thanks I value all your input and opinions :)Ah this is getting heated! Invoking opinions, that's what I like to see :D!! moreOpen Question: Some songs for the one you love..what happened and what song?
I once heard a song on the radio before I was drafted in the service. Many years later, yes, MANY years later and after retiring from GM I married my second wife. I had to fly to the Philippines to marry as she is Filipino. We went to the market on our 250cc bike and bought some veggies. We strapped them to the bike and on the way back, out of nowhere this song hit me. "In the Misty Moonlight!" I slowed down and I started singing it to her. I sang most of it and did not even know I knew it! It says, anyplace is alright as long as you are near! Whether on a mountain or way down in the valley I will be happy knowing you are there. It even mentions tropic shifting sea sands! Where did that come from she asked. I told her the truth.. I had no clue except many years ago, I heard it! I was in my late 50's in Phil. Got out of the service in 67. I heard this song before that time! It is amazing how you remember these things. Oh, my wife speaks better English than I and is a gourmet cook! She beats me at Scrabble and I had 5 years of English. She went online to play and they kicked her off.. she was too good for them. Get out of here, you are an expert! What about some other songs that came to your mind when in love? Any type or kind and from any gender? Remember the songs when you were in love? EarlHi Jackie.. Come on baby im waiting here so patiently i spent the night at home didn't use the phone I really really hate a bad date moreResolved Question: What is it called when your senses are reacting to much to sound and touch?
OK so i am at the young age of 13 and some times when i wake up or am trying to go to sleep my senses seem to "overload" in a way to speak, like for example when a bed feels smooth and soft to you and when this "overload" happens i can actually feel what you wouldn't i would feel the bumps and stuff like that in the bed, i could lay down in the back of my living room when this overload happens and hear the refrigerator (which is in the back of the kitchen and there is only one door shaped frame way leading to the kitchen) as if its hooked up to an amplifier on max volume. Time for an anecdote: Im trying to goto sleep and me and my cousin are sleeping in the same room cause we are philipino and there is no other room so any ways im trying to sleep and the radio is on at the volume me and my cousin like then it just hits me like knock out kick in MMA. And im in agony due to the "Overload",the agony is not like pain agony its kinda like when you are listening to music and its way to loud, so my mom helped me to the living but when im in the door way i felt so weird, i felt like i was 3 times smaller then i was then (i was about 3 feet tall and about maybe 9,10,11 or 12 years old) and the door frame was like the gates to Stormwind in world of warcraft. This type of thing is crazy and i believe it is some sort of Hypersensitivey, because one of my friends has this and hates fireworks and i hate every sound or thing i have to touch when i get the "overload". if any one could tell me what this is that would be great and if you can could you tell me how to treat it if at all possible, if not possible how to cope with the "overload". moreVoting Question: What other music should I listen to?
I like a lot of stuff... a list of my favorite bands, and least favorite music, to help your suggestions... Favorites: (the ones with *s are my all time favorites) AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper*, Andrew W.K., The Arcade Fire, The Beatles* (and all of their other projects, post-Beatles), Cinema Bizarre*, The Cure, David Bowie*, Dir En Grey, Disturbed, E.L.O, Girugamesh, Kiss, KoRn, Led Zeppelin, Marilyn Manson*, Metallica, Michael Jackson, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nirvana, Queen, Tokio Hotel*, Tool (This list came out a lot longer than I expected, haha) Least Favorites: Pretty much anything in the top hits that are played on the radio, all that Disney Channel stuff... you know.. the stuff that "normal" teenagers listen to. Yuck. So any bands you think I would like, and your favorite songs by them please. Thank you :) moreResolved Question: what is the best route to go to get your music heard ?

This is in the extremely rough stages, like straight from my head onto paper, but I hope you like it. Twenty high school students arrive at one of the many peaceful islands off the coast of Key West, Florida. Chaperoned by four adults, they are otherwise completely on their own. Three cabins house the several teens for the next two weeks. Unbeknownst to them, a category two hurricane is headed their way. “Cade! Hello!? I asked you to get the candy.” Dakoata Montgomery glared at the man across from her. “Sorry,” he mumbled, and grabbed the bag of Fourth of July leftovers. Cade dumped the contents on the coffee table, and sank into the over-stuffed sofa. “It’s fine.” Dakoata thumbed through the deck of cards, finally handing one to her partner. After arranging her deck into the classic Solitaire layout, she sat back in her chair. “Cade, turn up the radio,” she demanded suddenly, listening attentively. “… category two hurricane making its way towards Key West. The island is now on immediate alert for evacuation…” crackled the radio. Dakoata blinked. “I’m going to check the stations and make sure everything is alright.” She stood up, and straightened her jeans. The Coast Guard channels were silent, so Dakoata turned back to her game, a perplexed look painted on her face. Cade shook his head at the pretty girl. “Don’t worry. I don’t think anyone has decided to take a camping trip on any of the islands.” He laughed, and took a sip of his coffee. The two played for a while, until the thick metal door of the game room creaked open. “Oh, hey Cade, Dakoata.” A huge black man stepped inside, his deep bass resounding through the small room. “Hello Jeremiah.” Dakoata curled up on the old sofa. She closed her eyes, and listened to the icy rain hitting against the window. The Jamaican seated himself next to Cade after grabbing a soda from the mini refrigerator. “You playin’ solitaire?” Cade nodded, and concentrated on his game. Just then, the radio booted up. “Help! Help, please, someone… twenty teens… island flooding.” Dakoata leapt off the couch. “Cade, you said there was no one on the islands!” She grabbed the radio off the counter. He jumped up. “Hey, look. I didn’t know!” Dakoata turned on him. “Well next time, look better!” she yelled at him. Jeremiah moved between them. “Whoa guys. This ain’t no time to be arguin’. Now, obviously, there are a few people that need our help.” “It’s twenty people. Depending on how many people we have available, that’s gonna be at least three trips!” Cade’s jaw muscles bunched up in frustration. Jeremiah shifted his weight. “Actually, sir, we’ve only got one helicopter.” “Great, it’s going to be four trips.” Cade’s eyes darkened. Dakota, a helicopter pilot for three years, pulled on her water proof Coast Guard jacket, and rushed out of the game room. Cade followed behind Jeremiah to the outdoor landing pad. “Cade, find Kelley.” She was the flight engineer. Dakoata looked at Jeremiah “Run to the control tower, please. Check all of the islands, and see which ones have been checked out, and anyone who was on any island for the day. Cade, suit up.” He nodded, and grabbed his gear. Kelley came running out, shielding her eyes from the icy rain. “Dakoata, what’s going on?” She shook her head. “I’ll explain later. Just check the helicopter, and we’ll be going.” Dakoata stepped out into the storm, heading towards her helicopter, but Cade stopped her. “This is crazy! Why are we flying out in the middle of a hurricane for twenty kids?” “Excuse me? You think I’m crazy? I thought we were supposed to save people in trouble, but of course I don’t know anything!” She yelled in his face, pushing past him. Cade took a step back. “No, I think it’s crazy that we’re rescuing twenty people off a tiny island with one helicopter.” He felt his throat tighten in indignation. moreVoting Question: My RC car took off by itself. Anyone know why?
I have a kyosho buggy with a traxxas velineon brushless and ESC combo. just recently when i hit the accelerator, the dam thing decided to take off by itself? is it the ESC or the radio receiver? The car never did this before i got the velineon put in there so im guessing its the ESC. Any possible reason why it would take off by itself? Any suggestions on how to fix it? And yes i definitaley am going to ask my local hobby shop. moreVoting Question: What's this song? I think it's new, but the chorus sounds kind of old school...?
I heard it on the radio with other top twenty hits so it must be popular. Its a bluesy- sounding woman who either says "Pain" or change at one point, and there may be rapping as the choruses.Overall its sounds kind of pop-ish. moreResolved Question: What is this new song that is on the radio the chorus is in Spanish and the rest is like rap in english?
I was trying to catch what the DJ said it was and I think he said Marc Anthony and some well known rapper I can't remember who but I can't figure it out. It isn't a slow song, it kind of sounds beachy....there was something in the song about summer tan. The chorus I'm totally going to butcher but it went sorta like this. Ayyyeee queeeeerida siempre mi tiempo more Ayyyeeee quuueeeirrrrddddaaa ...yeah I don't HELP IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! I heard it on B96.3 a chicago station and their website doesn't have a playlist of what songs they play as they play them. TI OR LUDA moreVoting Question: Looking for the song / European hit of 1994 in English/Spanish?
During the Summer and Fall of 1994 this great dance song was quite popular in Europe, I remember listening it on the radio very often, in Italy, Greece and other Mediterranean countries. A young lady was singing a part of it in English, the other part in Spanish (or possibly, Italian). The music was quite unusual, but very energetic. I can't remember neither the name of song, nor the singer's (group's) name. If you have a good guess, please help. Thank you in advance! moreResolved Question: Whale wars crew are idiots!!?
This show is starting to drive me insane. The crew of the "Sea Shepard" are totally unorganized morons. Every f**king time they have a chance to stop the whaling ships they screw it up. Whether they are in the wrong position, their flippin' heliocopter runs outta gas, some stupid girl hits her head. They sink or capsize thier own small craft they can't stop bitching with eachother. Or they simply get out run by the whaling fleet. These people fail constantly. I appreciate what they are doing and I know this is not easy. But really? If you're going to do this do it right. (on the show right now thier "bottle attack failed") Soon I'm simply going to stop watching the show. Oh and the captain has all the command bearing of a Radio Shack manager. No offense to Radio Shack managers but. If you're going to command a ship in these kinds of situations. I would think you would'nt be such a gine!Yeah I guess it turned into a rant. So question. Why on earth would'nt they find a better crew? And does anyone else agree this show is so frustrating because they suck! Show will fail on it's own anless they actually do somthing ather then make fools of themselves. Why don't the have a water cannon instead of thrown bottles. Pump raw sewage on to these whaling savages!!Oh and the whale is killed and the capt. Goes below and ignores his phone? Your crew needs you and you're ignoring the phone cause you're mad. Get yp there and fight. Or go home and cry about it. moreResolved Question: My story? Thanks for reading ahead of time.?

There was a chain reaction of accidents. A SUV hit the car behind our car and then it hit us(with force) and we hit a car in front of us. (nothing serious). The people that were in our family car (only 2) had injuries.. which i think that will last some time (neck and back).. The cost to repair our car is around $7000-$10000 dollars.. The back bumper and trunk door, tailpipe/exhaust, the front bumper, the radio popped out(Also the car was acting weird , sort of smoking)(maybe because the exhaust was covered, which could've affected another part).. We bought a 1997 buick lesabre for about $9000 used(A couple of years back)... excellent condition.. and now it only costs about $1500-$3000.. so paying for repairs would cost more than the car itself.. wouldn't getting another car be better? Im not saying a new car... a used one (older model) not a 2008-2010 model. moreResolved Question: 18mts and Night Terrors?

its been nearly 2 months since i last spoke to him. ive never been more in love and things ended badly. the relationship ended abruptly because he had a freak out. i know he still cares for me but wont let himself be with me. he cut off all contact. i thought i would be okay and i honestly was for almost a week then it all hit me and sank in. i think about him every single day. ive stopped turning on the radio because half of the songs remind me of him. every time i see a couple walking by on campus or someone that looks like him i think of him. how long did it take you to stop feeling miserable and thinking about that person constantly? also, if you knew they still felt as strongly as you did but had asked you to leave them alone and had said horrible things to you and cut off contact to ensure you did, would you consider going above and beyond to find them and contact them? why or why not? any advice? moreVoting Question: Am I a Whacker?
