Open Question: red light on Kenwood KAC-9104D?

First of all i have a Kenwood KAC-9104D and it worked perfectly fine. Then i took my box out to put suite cases in there for vacation. When i got back i just put my box back in my trunk and turned the car on, it hit one time as the amp loaded up the the red light turns off but the blue light stays on. I dont know what the problem is, i replaced all fuses and even took the wires on the amp off and put it back on and still nothing. Does anybody know what could be the problem, im thinking it could be the remote wire going to the indash radio but i havent checked. more

Voting Question: Kenwood stereo wont work in my Subaru?

I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback (limited). I just installed a new Kenwood CD player. I purchased the wiring harness and dash install kit (for "ease") Metra 70-8901 I've tested everything- Old radio starts right up New radio bench tested and works no problem Somehow the wiring harness is messed up. If I jiggle the yellow wire, the deck will make a noise as if it were looking for a cd and that's it. No lights, no audio, no other sounds, Nothing. All of the pins look clean functional and unbent. Other than very minor wire movement, everything is sturdy... I"m just not sure how/why I cannot get power... Oh yeah I did check all the fuses under the dash by left knee and under the hood in the 1 compartment on the right side (as your looking at the engine from in front of the car) and yes I grounded the black wire from the stereo harness to the chassis. more

My Ipod is going bad. I'm thinking about transferring all my music onto an extra USB I have laying around. I installed my kenwood stereo and got rid of my stock stereo and i after i got done it did not turn on. My lights, wipers, turn signal, hazards, air still work. However, my overhead light did not work. And the alert sound to let you know your keys are still in the ignition does not work along with the alert for the headlights being on. I replaced the fuse for the radio but that did not do anything. Is the wiring wrong? Is a different fuse blown? Please help!Honda Civic 2005 sedan more

It is a red 2000 Toyota Celica GT. Milage is 141K but I recently had a new engine put in. It is a 2003 engine with only 8,000 miles on it and runs great. Automatic 4-speed trans. Options include power locks, power windows, security system, keyless entry, kenwood CD player with AM/FM radio, rear wiper, 50% tint. Does not have sunroof. Modifications: Black halo headlights, black tail lights, interior red LED lights, cold air intake, front strut bar, and carbon fiber dash kit. Paint is in pretty good shape for a 2000 model. No dents, was in a couple accidents, but no major damage, everything has been repaired. Tires still have over half the tread. I would use an online pricing site like kelley blue book, but I feel it gives an inaccurate pricing because of the new engine. I would like to get at least $6000 out of it, is this too high? more

Resolved Question: New radio install in 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with Scosche GM09SR chime module, Dash lights wont turn off?

So I installed a new Kenwood KIV-BT901 in my truck and wired everything according to diagram and past experience. The head unit works and everything if hooked up to a constant power source (for testing purposes) but when I wired it correctly for the accessory power and constant power the radio does not have power even when truck is on. The dash lights are also constantly on now with the battery light. Don't turn off by themselves even with the doors open and keys out of ignition. Scosche techs said it could be a faulty module and I should send it back for a replacement, but I'm on a time crunch for the install. I think it has something to do with the wiring or possibly a bad fuse or a bad ground. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. more

My X recently put 2 12' Punch P3 and a Kenwood amp in my car, my old deck was old and outdated so i just purchased a Clarion CZ300 and had his friend who obviously didn't have a clue what he was doing didn't even finish mounting it i tried putting a CD in and it wouldn't insert all the way so i had my brother take a look well the screws were still screwed in where it says "remove before installing or cd player won't work properly so he unscrewed them put fasteners on the wires cos they were connected with electrical tape now it works when i have it on F.M. radio but if i insert a cd or try to plug in my mp3 player to the USB the amp powers off whats going on here?? more

I'm going to replace my factory speakers in my 2000 Honda Accord (4 speakers). 6 1/2 front doors and 6x9s rear deck and I have an aftermarket radio that gives a 50Wx4 output. I've found two speakers in my budget that seem relatively good: -KENWOOD 6993PS (6x9s) -KENWOOD KFC-1652S (6 1/2) or -Kicker KS69 (6x9) -Kicker DS6.2 (6 1/2) I know a little about speakers, enough to install these..but which would give me the best sound? I had a professional change the bose speakers and bypassed the original amp...it is not loud enough....do I need a new amp... do I need the two tweeter speakers on top of the dash...because they said it will make a small noise please help....so far I have spend over 1000.00 .... they insulated the doors with dynamite or what ever it's called. The kenwood is blue tooth and pandora and hd radio. the speaker are 75 watt for the front and 35 watt for the back. One is alpine and the other I can't remeber...61/2 inch I yet have to spend another 350 dollars...I know what you are thinking... stupid...I thought I would have a sound out of this world....wrong...do you guys think a 75 watt X4 amp should help. I have a 1986 Chevy Silverado. I recently removed the stock radio, and I installed an aftermarket Kenwood Stereo. I also bought two 12'' Sony Xplods (1500W Per Sub) and a Sony Xplod 500W amp. I managed to get everything to work after numerous trials. It took literally forever to get it all working... But the thing is, The Headunit will only turn on if I have the Parking lights on, or headlights... It's not that huge of a deal, but I just think I should be able to turn the truck on and have everything on without turning the lights on.... If you can tell me where I am wrong I would appreciate it. Thank you! more

I have a 96 Lexus .. I had two 10s powered by unknown amount of watts amp. The original speakers were JL audio they were doing good for about 4 months then they sounded like they were going to jump out the box at times . They then died a week or two after that. . I then replaced the two speakers with kenwood speakers. They sounded good and did not really need to put over 50% volume .. I would slap it over 70% and it would go too hard n take a break... the 1 working speaker I first orinally took out with 1 of the 2 new kenwoods. (so old JL speaker new kenwood) and man they sounded good but as I left I turnt it up to 70%-80% and it went dead no bass then I drove no base parked nothing switched out the old JL with the other new kenwood and still nothing .. Switched d amp fuses , didnt work, my radio works help more

Resolved Question: Why when I plug my ipod into the aux cable in my car it only play out the front speaker & the back plays radio?

I have a Kenwood KDC-132 head unit that came with the car when i bought it. The radio plays fine out all 4 speakers and sounds great. But when I plug my ipod into the aux cable connected to my head unit it only plays out the front 2 speakers and the back 2 still play the radio station that I was listening to before I switched to the aux. The aux cable plugs into the back of my my head unit into 2 AV slots (left and right) and the other end in the aux where i plug my ipod in. I don't know if this has anything to do with it i'm just letting anyone know. If anyone has had the same problem or knows how to fix my issue any advice would be greatly appreaciated! more

Voting Question: kenwood radio stuck in protect mode!?

I have a kenwood radio in my truck and its stuck in protect mode. It rained here last night, which aint the first time, and i got in the truck this morning and the radio played for a whole 15 seconds and then went to protect mode. I reset the radio and it would do find for a couple seconds then go to protect mode, now its stuck in protect mode. I have cut the speaker wires to confirm that i don't have a short in my wires to my speakers but still stuck in protect mode. any help?it is hooked up to a amp, but i thought that might also be a problem so i unhooked it, and still in protect mode, i just can't figure it out. more

Other than the media receiver not having a cd player, whats the difference? the reason i ask is because the media receivers are more expensive . do they have added stuff that the cd player doesnt have? Im looking at buying either the Kenwood KIV-BT900 or the Kenwood KIV-BT901 for my 2000 honda civic si. I cant decide though because i dont see the difference except for the fact that the 901 has pandora link. im in canada so its not supported here, but i found out a way to get it and now have pandora on my iphone. Voting Question: The best cd deck reciever?

I really want a 3 or 5line display as the one lined ones just look really cheap and i like knowing wut im listening 2 from my iphone. I live in canada btw so the feature would hav 2 work here. I also want it 2 hav a front usb and aux output. Hopefully hav a color chaning illumination thing. Needs 2 hav the radio preset buttons on the display itself. I would go bak and forth from lisening 2 my iphone to listening 2 the radio, so i wnna b able 2 save stations still. Saving the presents in the system and havn 2 go 2 menu n wut not would b a pain. Also want it 2 obvs hav good sound. Im not gna b installin any speakers or amps yet. I also want it 2 b a good fast thing thats not slow and will piss me off. Resolved Question: Why does my kenwood radio not work?

I have a kenwood Model: KDC-248U, i had on at first and i plugged in a usb multi port to it. yes i know it's dumb. so i fried the fuse and put a 20 instead of a 10. and it worked for a sec then stopped. so i went out and bought a new radio and changed the fuse back to a 10, and put in the new radio. but when i try to turn it on a few dim lines show up and turn off. and it doesn't work i went through 2 new radios both did the same thing. what could be wrong i only changed 1 fuse because i dont know of any other to change.when i looked in the back of the radio that fuse was fine. the car had a JVC in it before and the wire's from the old radio had new wire tapped to it so i don't need to look up the colors. all of the wireing is spot on. and still doesn't work. i tried putting the radio wires to the pos and neg on the battery and it still does not work. i tried my old JVC and it worked. what is wrong? more

Resolved Question: Why does my head unit shut off and not power back on?

I recently just bought a new kenwood head unit and installed it and it worked perfectly for about a month. When after a little while i would see the led light in the head unit start to dim and flash when the bass hit. After that the head unit wont even power on and the led would just blink every 5 seconds or so. After a month or so just to i decided to check all my fuses for the radio and the one in the head unit and they were all good but when i put the fuses back in the head unit worked, but when i turned the bass and volume up it shut off but imediatley turned back on. I have no clue if i need a new amp or what? Can somebody please give me some advice? Thanks! more

i have a 1996 maxima with the bose system. the stock radio crapped out, so i hooked up a kenwood to it. everything worked perfectly. i then tried to swap the radio to a jensen uv10(7inch touchscreen) so it tried two speakersto see if it would work and they did, so while everything on(music playing) i plugged in the front right speaker and the sound stopped. so now when the radio is on, i get no sound. yes the amp wire is plugged in. i even just tried the left front speaker and i still dont get any sound. im like wtff?! each speaker has its own amp built-in and i checked it to see if there is anything blow and its perfect. i checked the fuses in the fuse box and they are fine. i need my music. someone please helpp me if you know whats wrong with it :(i checked the speaker fuse and its perfect. the speaker that i didnt plug in at all i tried alone and still didnt work, so the amps arent the reason. more

I have a 2006 Honda Accord V6 Coupe and the battery has died on me twice when I get into it to go home from school. I took it by Advanced Auto Parts and had them check it with their computers, and the guy said my battery was in great shape and my alternator is perfect. I did not leave my lights on, but I did have a Kenwood Excelceon Radio installed. Could that be draining battery maybe? more
