Open Question: Aftermarket stereo + speakers for Nissan Versa/Tiida Hatchback 1.6L?

I want to upgrade my Tiida's stock audio system to something better. I currently have 4 door Speakerss with a 6 cd changer with FM/AM radio and AUX input. I am not sure if I have a built in subwoofer but my guess is that I don't. I want to get new speakers, MAYBE a new head unit (can I use my Tiida's stock head unit?), amplifier(s) and subwoofer. Open Question: Is anyone having problems with their 2008 Nissan Xterra shutting off on them?

The first time I was sitting in Park with the radio on and the A.C. running. The second time I drove from Orlando to Lakeland (60 miles) and once in Lakeland it turned off at a red light Then I took it to Nissan and they said nothing was wrong and reset the Check Engine Light. The third time I had drove from Clermont to Orlando. (20 - 25 miles) It turned off in Park with the A.C. running. I've noticed a few things each time has in common. It was hot outside. I made multiple stops where I turned off the car for a short period of time than turned back on. When I first turn on the car the Check Engine Light will not be on. If I stop some where for example the gas station for a few minutes, when I turn the car back on the Check Engine Light will turn on. It doesn't do it when I fill the tank up with gas. more

Resolved Question: 94' Nissan altima trouble?

I just bought a car and the guy said the starter or the battery were messed up. So 15 mins after buying it the darn thing wouldn't start up at all. I bought a new starter and tried to have it installed but we needed a lift. On the way home the car shut off on me and wouldn't start back up. Everything seems to be turing on, as far as the lights and radio is concerned. Does anyone have any insight on what it could be. I don't have a clue about cars...Please I got the starter from auto zone. The guy bascially sold me a lemon. I just had the starter put in today and it still won't run. The mechanic said something about loose connectons, leaks, and whatever else. I'm bummed out because it was and "as is" sale but the guy knew more ish was wrong with the car instead of starter or battery. Can I sell this car to recope some monies back? more

So I have a 2007 Nissan Altima with push button start, a couple weeks ago I tried to start the car and all the lights and radio came on but the engine didnt start, I kept having to jump it. At first I thought it was the battery but I got it tested 4 times and it was good everytime, then we thought the starter, tested it, same thing its good. Then after messing with it and trying to figure out what the problem was we found that the car does start but only if I push the brake down really hard, Im talkin really hard like I have to use all my might and push the break peddle all the way to the floor and it will still take 2 or 3 times before it starts. And I have to do that everytime I start my car it is frusterating. So now we are thinking it has something to do with the connection between the brake and the push start, but thats all we got so far. I know nothing about cars at all and would like to get some input or a little more specific advice on what I should do, I would like to get an idea of what it is because my dealership is screwing me over and wants to charge me $165 just to find out what the problem is if it is not covered under my warranty. The antenna on my 1993 Nissan Sentra is broken and I have bought a new (aftermarket) one, but I am unsure how to go about installing it. The new antenna is not a power model (nor was the original). I bought a model that has multiple adapters to attach it to the vehicle. My issue is how to go about removing the old antenna and tracing the cable so that it can be connected to the back of the radio. I know that it is probably a very simple thing to do, but I don't want to just start messing around in there and possibly short out the cars entire electrical system. I drive a 2005 Nissan Sentra. Over a year ago, the cd player was broken when my sister jammed a cd on top of another inside of it. I bought an after-market cd player, which has now started malfunctioning. I've decided I'd much rather have the same radio I started with. Outside of eBay, does anyone know where I can purchase one? I browsed eBay and only found one, which I was hopelessly outbid on. They have 2006 Sentra radios that look identical to mine but I'm not sure I should take that chance, nor should I take the chance of looking for one at scrap auto parts place as I'd have no guarantee it would work and there's no refunds. So basically I'm asking if anyone knows where I can get the stock cd player/radio for a 2005 nissan sentra or if anyone knows whether or not the 2006 is the same model and would work. Happens mostly when I start it up. Works fine, but squeals when I turn it on, and usually only for a few seconds or until I put it into reverse. Squeals louder when I hit the gas, but it seems like it's more related to the electrical system than anything else. It will occasionally squeal even when I'm driving down the road if I happen to have a lot of things running at once (wipers, lights, radio, a/c, defroster), but if I shut something off, it will usually quit immediately. more

3 months ago i replaced my battery for my car, it would turn on fine for 2 months, but after that i had to jump start the car, my friends mechanic said the problem was my charger, they replaced my charger in the car. 2 weeks later the car had trouble starting again i brought it back and he said something is draining the car overnight, he suggested i get a person to fix the wiring or disconnect the battery every time im not using the car. But now the problem is getting serious. I am not sure if my car is losing power while switched off or losing power while on. Recently the car turned off while i was waiting at a red light on the roads. Which i thought was quite dangerous. Another time the car seemed to want to turn off and i noticed that the radio quality was going down and about to turn off, but when i hit the accelarator it would gain quality again. I just recently notice that when i hit the accelarator button my headlights seem brighter which indicated it was charging better when i hit the accelartor, Whenever i jump start the car, i could take the car for a couple of drives, then id have to jump start it again. But now these days, i always have to jump start it when i want to go somewhere, as it wont turn on. Could it be my battery? because my charger didnt work properly for 2 months so my battery is completly drained? But isnt the car is supposed to charge when i drive the car? Or is it meant to drain the battery slowly over time while being charged? Id also like to know if the car is supposed to charge while stationary. Is it when i hit the accelarator, the mechanisms inside the car spin faster, therefore recharging faster? Is the problem the alternator, the battery, or is something draining the battery while the car is turned off? Or is the problem something else? The car has done around 360,000 kms, i bought this car second hand. It was working for a couple of months then this problem happened. I have been searching the internet for the problem but i am unsure to as it is. Id like to know what the problem is so i can save money when i bring it to the mechanics or something. I need expert advice. more

I cannot get the whole faceplate off. I know that I have to unscrew the two screws below the air vents and then I have to remove the trim piece around the automatic shifter... How do you do that when there are no screws or anything and I am afraid to force it because it might break??? Help... Please.... "Remove the trim piece around the automatic shifter. ( You can't take it off, but you can move it out of the way.) There should be two screws at the bottom of that that hold the trim piece in place. Remove those two screws, then before pulling the trim piece all the way off, reach behind the cig lighter and unplug it. Next, locate the 4 screws that are holding the radio into the center counsel. Remove those, and your radio should now come out. Reach behind and unplug the antenna wire (thick black wire) then unplug the wiring harness from the back of the radio." more

I just purchased a brand new 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5s for cash. I took delivery April 2, 2009 and have been to the dealer's service center 5 times already and will be 6 next week. Here are the issues I have been having... > Major rattling coming from rear when hitting bumps. First thought it was the rear deck panel which was replaced, then replaced again since it was the wrong part. > The above wasn't the cause and they determined it was a large bracket that was loose within the side airbag curtain and need to order that part to replace it. > Rear deck panel that was replaced now looks warped. > Annoying rattling is coming from within the dashboard mainly behind the radio. > Headliner was never installed properly at the factory. Now before 30 days, my new car experience is over for I have had many mechanics inside my car, slamming on it, taking pieces apart. Taking it for road tests without me in it. I feel they should replace the car. I would understand if this was 1 year into my ownership, or even 6 months. But less than 30 days? How should I approach the situation? I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima. I have 2 questions: 1. I went to start the car up yesterday and the battery was dead. I didnt leave the lights on or anything like that. I got a jumop and was fine. Left work and it started fine...I stopped for gas and the battery died again but was again fine after getting a jump. Could it be the battery needs to be replaced? 2. My radio died on me. Voting Question: Why does my sirius radio sound awful in my car?

From a "first time listening" perspective, it doesn't sound "awful," but when compared to my 2007 Honda Fit's factory CD player as well as the local FM stations, it sounds quiet and almost muffled. The highest volume the factory player will allow me to get to is 40. When listening to the radio or to a CD, 40 is unbearably loud. But often times I have to turn it up that high when listening to Sirius in order to get just a decently loud sound. Also, the CD player and local radio sound much clearer and crisper, and after I've been listening to the sirius radio for a while and switch to a CD or the FM radio, music sounds much clearer and crisper. My question is why is this happening? We had the radio put in by a Best Buy. My dad had his put in my Best Buy as well and his sounds great in his Nissan Pathfinder (unsure of year of model - newer though). Any thoughts? more

I'm looking at buying a new 2009 Nissan Rogue. It's going to be fully loaded, here's a list of the features: AWD Premium Package (includes Xenon Headlights); Leather package; Portable Navigation system; Rear spoiler; Bumper guard; Floor mats (yes, that's extra according to their website); Moonroof; Roof rails w/ crossbars; Splash Guards; Chrome Grille; Cargo cover; a Pin Stripe and then the other standard features including XM radio; Cruise Control; Power windows & locks; keyless ignition; ABS; Garage door opener; Bluetooth; steering wheel controls; and the list goes on. They are also including some special paint job that keeps scratches from rusting or something like that. I don't see that feature on their website nor on edmunds.com but it's got a sticker price of $800ish. According to the sticker price on the lot, it's $31.5k. Trying to build the same car on the website comes out to $30.5k but I can't add the pin stripe and paint protection thing (which on the sticker equals about $1k). After emphasizing the lack of need for certain features (navigation, pin stripe, splash guards, chrome grille) and emphasizing the need to try to keep this within a budget, they broke it down to... ::drumroll:: $26.5k. According to edmunds.com: the Invoice price (without the pin stripe and paint protection) is $27.8k and "what others are paying" is $28.4k With all that said and comparing it to edmunds, it seems like a good deal. I believe this $26.5k price already includes the $750 cash back incentive and it comes with 2.9% financing. All in all, I believe this is a good deal but being my first NEW car where I can negotiate, I want to make sure I got it to a reasonable price. I think I did but I'd like others opinions. I apologize for the long question but leaving out one detail can reflect a big price difference. Thanks! I forgot to mention, it is the SL model. According to KBB: New Car Blue Book Value= $29k; Invoice=$27.8k; MSRP=$29.7 Nada.com: Invoice=$27.8k and MSRP=$30.3k After all this, it appears I'm getting an offer below the invoice price. I have a 1996 Nissan 300zx, everything is stock. My radio is on but at times I can't hear a thing, whenever I go over speed bumbs or anything that raddles the whole car I hear a click and then the radio starts working fine. And then on some occasions right when I start my car it works from the getgo but then a few minutes later is goes dead. any help would be appreciated... :) more

Voting Question: Where does a USB iPod Cable plug into on my Pioneer Radio?

I just bought the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD player for my 2002 Nissan Altima. This is a double din DVD/Radio for my car. With the radio, I also bought the Pioneer CD-IU50V 0.5M USB iPod Cable so that my iPod will show up on the touchscreen. Where does this cable plug into, the front OR back of my actual radio?? I'd like to plug it into the back so that I could run the cord into my glove box so that the iPod wouldn't be visible, but still be plugged in. Is this possible for me to do?? Please help.. The Nissan Versa 4dr Automatic & the Nissan Versa 4dr Automatic S? Besides the S having the 1.8 Engine and an AM/FM radio, and CD player? Does the regular Automatic have air conditioning at least? I don't need all the bells and whistles, but if the regular offers everything but the CD player I'm fine with that because I'm going to transfer the one I have now into the eventual new one!
