Resolved Question: OMG OMG OMG! Do you think Ke$a is a Sellout?
I am SO mad! My little sis was watching American Idol last night while I did my Homework, and Ke$a came on singing BlahBlahBlah. She's my absolute favorite singer, and I was furious when she changed all the words! To make the song 'appropriate'. I think she's a sellout. Brittany Spears did the same thing when the only way she could get 'If You Seek Amy' on the radio was changing it to 'Have You Seen Amy?' And she did it just so it could stay on the radio. I wish more artists would stand by there work, and not change the lyrics just so they could be on TV. What do you think? moreResolved Question: Am I the only one who has noticed that Taylor Swift sounds absolutely horrible?
I admit, I'm not a young kid. I'm 41. But vocals are vocals at any age. And Taylor Swift's vocals are just difficult to listen to. When her songs come on our radio stations, I have to turn it off - the squeaky off squealing is just far too difficult to listen to. Sometimes I sit and listen and marvel at how ridiculous it sounds. I, too, was appalled by the award shows that lavished praise in the wrong places. Not because I mean harm to Taylor Swift. She would make a nice model. And all of the strange and unearned praise that she gets seems very unfair to artists who actually can sing. Popular with kiddies or not, real talent should be applauded and awarded. Pink, for instance, has a nice voice. Wonderful vocals. Kelly Clarkson's vocals are amazing (though I don't always like her lyrics). Carrie Underwood's vocals are good. Beyonce can at least sing - though I'm not a big fan of her lyrics much either. And though I really don't get Lady Gaga, the young lady can really sing. She is an extremely talented singer. She doesn't really need the antics. Point being, there are too many actually talented performers out there who are having to take a back seat with regard to recognition - to someone who belts out very weird screetchy, off - just embarrassing sounds. Let's face it, she is passed along as credible just because she looks good. If she were an actress or model, I'd say kudos probably. But there's nothing to applaud about her efforts to sing. I couldn't believe my ears when she performed live on TV with this older lady (I believe during the country music award show). She was so off - that I think she threw the lady -- who was some country music legend -- off as well. It was just unbelievable. The worse part is that Taylor was smiling and shaking her shoulders and hips as though she actually sounded decent. And people applauded. She had no idea. Shame on America. Someone should tell her the truth. And let her move on to taking pictures. And saving our ears from the irritating noise. moreResolved Question: Turn it on, o-o-on, turn it on, turn it on again?
Don't you ever just feel like belting out lyrics simultaneously? All I need is a TV show, THAAAAT and the radio! Down on mah luck again! Down on mah luck again.... What song do you just feel like SCREAMING right now? BQ: Why do all my questions keep getting DELETED? Someone has a vendetta on me.*Whoops, meant spontaneously, not simultaneously. moreResolved Question: do you know this song? (from the lyrics??) ?
I've heard this song on adverts on the tv or like films and radio, but i dont know what its called and the only bit i know is pretty obscure, so i cant find it on the internet. It has sort of acoustic guitar, sounding kinda spanish, and it goes 'huhuhaaaa', or 'hup hup haaaaaah'. and then theres like a bit of only guitar, and then it goes 'hup....hup....hup.....hup......haaaaaaa', this is only the beginning of the song though, i dont know the rest. i really want to know what this song is! the singing is kind of shouted(ish), and its in a male voice. please help, any suggestions would be great! :) btw i live in england thankssss :)xxx moreVoting Question: I am searching for the title and artist(s) of a song from the late seventies.?
This song features the words "Some Guys", or "Some Boys" in the lyrics, but it was not the famous "Some guys have all the luck" by Rod Stewart. This song was sung by a female, but I am not sure she would be listed as a solo artist or part of a band. I remember hearing the song a little on the radio, and it was featured on the TV show "The New Music Magazine". I just cannot seem to perform the correct search to locate the song using any of the main search engines. Can anyone help? moreVoting Question: What do you think of these lyrics?
1. These are a rough draft #2. It's kind of a rap song, with just acoustic guitar. Sitting, pondering the first thing that I notice is Morals have been devalued society's losing focus (of) What is good and what is right I think it's time someone took this and shed a little light (starting with) I come home, turn on the Tv, sex violence and drugs is all I see I stare unbelieving at that screen, With all the junk that's on it, gross and obscene Turn the radio on, it's more of the same a bunch of rich guys just flaunting their name Whatever happened to being kind, and being humble I think people got their priorities all in a jumble So next I get my stuff, head to the mall and what I see is so astonishing I almost fall Thousands of people just obsessed with things Clothes, food, magazines and diamond rings. People please, just get your stuff straight Start to love, and just stop the hate These two simple things will go a long way, and who knows, we might change the world one day. moreResolved Question: Band/artist suggestions?
i wouldn't say music is my life, but it is definitely a significant part of it. however, what i listen to is just popular music that is played all the time on the radio, tv, etc. and i know there is soo much more out there. so i was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions. i like a wide range of music, i think. my taste is all over the place, i like. FOB, maroon 5, cobra starship, gym class heroes, paramore, 2pac, eminem, the maine, the fugees, ice cube, kings of leon, owl city, natasha bedingfield... and a lot of others. i like happy music, sad music, dance music, chill music. mostly anything. but the most important thing to me are lyrics. so, i don't really listen to those bands that scream everything and like squeal and it sounds like a cat is being decapitated. not because it's bad sounding, but because ii can't understand what they're saying. moreResolved Question: Name of the song on the channel 5 advert for Numb3rs?
The most recent one (2010) I DON'T mean Love Dog by TV on the Radio. Please help! I can't find the ad anywhere so i could listen to it again for lyrics etc so i can't be much more help. moreVoting Question: what is this song? "the reason for the scream and shout. has the world turned down, has the world turned out"?
I keep hearing this song on the local radio station (WASU) and i've tried Googling the lyrics, but it doesn't come up with ANYTHING. here are some lines i managed to jot down: "tempo follows internal beating, it's difficult for you and me to kill computer and tv too. the vacuous escape the chair? -chorus- (it wasn't what we thought about, the reason for the scream and shout, has the world turned down, has the world turned out?) it wasn't what we cared about get your story media crew, celebrity meltdown... we might just start to think we're good enough too much time spent killing the blues, we're making it worse with the pills and the booze. we might just stop and think we're good enough. we might just start to think we're cruel enough"? ANY of that sound familar? it's pretty upbeat and cute and indie. it's a guy singing, with a girl in backup in the chorus. moreResolved Question: The decade is coming to an end - What do you think the song of the decade was? Partial Lyrics What a drag it is The shape i'm in Well I go out somewhere Then I come home again I light a cigarette 'Cause I can't get no sleep Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio That means that much to me (Chorus) All my life Watching America All my life There's panic in America Oh Oh Oh, Oh There's trouble in America Oh Oh Oh, Oh As an American it makes me think of how Amerocentric we are and how we have ignored our friends while placating those who rattle sabres at us this last decade. OK I know this extremely vague but I'm in love with this song that I think has gotten popular recently in the indie/alt/rock genre. The vocals sound so much like TV on the Radio but it is not in fact them. Some of the lyrics might be "It's in my head" repeated or "..bring me closer.." It's hard to tell, a lot of the lyrics are hard to pick out because of the way they are sung. It's slower to moderate in tempo, male voice, stronger drum beat. sorry for the ambiguity and I know it's a long shot but any ideas? moreResolved Question: Help on an R&B/Hip-Hop song?
There's this song I hear on the radio and I believe it's fairly new. It's either an r&b or hip hop song and I can't remember a lot of the lyrics to it. I think I have heard it on TV played at college football games. I believe the chorus is like "Hey Hey Hey" or something like that, but they don't say it fast and they extend the "ey" part. I know this is pretty minimal detail but I just can't remember any other lyrics. moreResolved Question: A song question.. what does it mean?? Please explain..?

I heard it once on the radio, and here are the lyrics I remember: I wish I was taller I wish I was Republican So I could act like a fool again Watch TV shows with big fat men Those politicians aren't your friend Scaring everyone Scaring everyone (I'm pretty sure that's in the chorus.)It was an alternative or pop-punk song. The song contained no rapping and had a white dude singing. This song contains no mention of the word "baller" in it, nor any references to Impalas. moreResolved Question: Is there a website for identifying melodies?
Sometimes a melody goes around in my head, I may have heard it on the TV or radio, but I don't know the lyrics (if it even has lyrics), I could sing it or (with some effort) write down the notes (or the intervals between the first notes anyway - no perfect pitch). Is there a website that can help you to identify melodies? moreResolved Question: Is it wrong to judge bands on actual music content and the 'intelligence' of their songs?
i've been playing music for 15 years so when i hear songs i look at them from a musicians point of view and base my opinions on that. i look at key changes, time signature changes, how the riffs are written, lyrics, general feel and emotion etc. i'm not saying simple songs are's good, but people always look at me funny when i tell them that i don't like (whatever song is playing at the time) because i feel it was written poorly or it lacks real emotion or it was in the same key as every other song that band has written (cough cough godsmack cough). they tell me that my expectations are too high or that i should be more open-minded. i can't help the fact that i don't like cookie-cutter bands/songs that use crappy riffs and cheesy lyrics that you don't have to think about. good music should have depth; a song should be a journey that grabs your attention and keeps it until the end. is musical ignorance a byproduct of tv and radio or just basic stupidity? or maybe it's a combination of both?sorry abominus prime, but bands like limp bizkit are in it for the money. moreVoting Question: Does anyone know of the songs with lyrics something like "i'll be the meat if you'll be the buns"?

I was in the car with some friends a few nights ago and there was a song playing on the radio. It was a rap song, and some of the lyrics went like this What do you mean you dont want me? Next time you see me i'll be on tv I know its not alot to go by, but its all i can remember. The song also mentioned how she had broke up with him because loads of girls were commenting his pictures on myspace. I hear it on the radio all the time but can't find the artist or name of it. Lyrics go" They sold you a life you don't need, what if I told you, you could have it for free? It's on your tv sets, your radio, big screen hollywood picture shows..."??? moreResolved Question: My fiancee's daughter flirts with me?
My fiancee's daughter is 14. Over the last few months she has been flirting with me, or at least I believe that's what it is. She never does this when her mother is around. Some examples... A while back I was helping her hang posters in her room. The old song "I touch myself" came on the radio and she turned it up and looked right at me whan she sang it. Creeped me right out. I ignored it. Later she was playing Guitar Hero and was playing "Cherry Pie" by Warrant. I went to take out the garbage. She paused it and waited for me to come back in to continue. More recently I had dozed off laying on the sofa and she pounced on me (scared the daylights out of me too). She looked down at me and pushed her gum out of her mouth and it landed on my lips. Were my mouth open it would have landed in my mouth. I stuck the gum on her shoulder and told her I was trying to watch TV. She then went to the computer and was surfing youtube. She insisted I come see this video, and it was a group of boys lipsyncing the song "Boom boom boom boom I want you in my room." (Do a lyrics search if you aren't familiar with it.) I have tried to talk to her mother and that is a waste of time. Her mom refuses to believe any of it because it never happens in her presence and because I don't fit the type of guy her daughter normally likes. She blows it off. When I press it telling her it is important, she says it's not true but she thinks I want it to be true. The 14 year old has never had a stable father in her life. Her biological father chose drug dealing over her and her (former) step dad didn't have time for her. She has made comments that make it clear she wonders when I am going to abandon her as well. I know what *not* to do, meaning I would never ever take advantage of the situation. While I think she is beautiful I'm not attracted to her. But I also don't know what TO do. The last thing I want to do is hurt or embarrass her in any way. I love her too much to ever do that. Because of her mothers complete lack of caring or understanding and me being unable to figure out how to handle this, I am seriously considering ending the relationship. I love my fiancee but this one of a few issues going on in our lives that is just making me tired. And if I end it, the daughters fears about me abandoning her will come true. I don't believe the 14 year old has an actual crush on me. I believe she simply doesn't know how to show love to a daddy because she has never had a normal dad in her life until now. Any normal advice would be appreciated. Thanks moreResolved Question: what song did i hear on the radio?
these r all the lyrics i know Workin' so hard like a soldier Can't afford a thing on TV Deep in my heart I'm a warrior Can't get food for them kid, good God moreResolved Question: What is up with all the edit versions of "Toes" by The Zac Brown Band?
I have heard it played on several radio stations and 2 country music tv stations. It really kills me how it has been edited. In one line "toes in the water, A$$ in the sand" was changed to "but-t in the sand" - However they left the line about "roll up a fattie" (Obvious reference to hand rolling a marijuana cigarette) . Another station left the word A$$ in the lyric but dropped out the line on "roll up a fattie".... Another left the song intact, just as it was written and meant to be heard... and still another left the edit changing ASS to BUT-T and dropped out the line about "roll up a fattie"... I have also heard the word A$$ dropped out but the left in "roll up a fattie" What is wrong with leaving the music the way the artist has written and produced the song? NONE of these words are that highly offensive. What happened to poetic license? Has big brother finally come after our music, again???? moreResolved Question: Why is the very intro of Raining Blood cut out?
Ok before the calm part where the guitarists are playing the creepy harmonics and the drummer is playing 3-beats, there is a heavy metal part that goes for about 41seconds and then ends with a ringing chord, then the calm part starts in. Please don't tell me that it is part of the song postmortem, because that song clearly ends and the part i'm talking about fades in perfectly with the song. Plus on the album Reign in blood, the track labeled "Raining Blood" does contain the part im talking about. But when I hear the song on the radio, TV, games, and movies, that part never seems to be there it just goes into the "calm before the storm", and it doesn't sound right. I cannot even find lyrics sheets to the part i'm talking about, So why is it never heard anywhere else than the official album. Is it offensive or something? See the song kind of resembles a real storm in a way and the FULL version kinda sounds like this Thunder, calm before the storm, rain, thunder again, blood hurricane, ending thunderclap and fading rain. So what happend to the intro to the song? Also what are the lyrics to the cut out part?Yea im basically asking why its cut out in all other versions? i think that part kinda makes the song. yea it sounds best if you listen to the whole album in order. (kinda like the way that tenative and holy mountains by System of a down should be played by eachother on the album hypnotise, but its kinda ruined by playing ufig in between.I have the cd version, never heard the cassete, so it might be, postmortem and raining blood should be one song yea that solves it moreResolved Question: Jermaine's relationshop with Michael jackson...?
On larry king, jermaine said he was his backbone, and that he spoke up for him because michael was shy and stuff. He acted like he was very close to his brother after his death, i'm wondering did he just do that for publicity? because read this: "What is the story behind "Word to the Badd!"? In November 1991, a new single, "Word to the Badd!", by Jermaine Jackson was leaked to Los Angeles radio station KPWR. The DJ began to play the single continuously in alternation with MJ's new single "Black or White". The lyrics were a no-holds-barred attack on Michael. They read, in part: Reconstructed Been abducted Don't know who you are... Once you were made You changed your shade Was your color wrong? Could not turn back It's a known fact You were too far gone The broadside caused shock and controversy in the media and the public. Jermaine explained on the UK network TV program "Rapido": "I tried to put some phone calls to him and I didn't get a reply...it's a number of things but it's nothing we couldn't work out, had we spoken, but I wasn't granted an opportunity from his people to speak to him...the overall message is an older brother telling his younger brother to get back to reality...you have done it to the ultimate level, but you're still a person." According to Margaret Maldonado, his former common-law wife, Jermaine wrote the song when he became enraged that his producers, L.A. Reid and Babyface, postponed work on his next album in order to work with Michael on Dangerous. Jermaine was unable to reach MJ by phone to confront him over the postponement, so he conceived a plan to put Michael in his place and at the same time draw attention to his own album. The morning after the song began to air, MJ appeared at Hayvenhurst to demand an explanation. Contrary to some reports, he did not attempt to attack his brother physically over the insult but instead went into a room with him to discuss the matter, with mother Katherine mediating. Maldonado reports that after the meeting Katherine told her that Jermaine had refused to apologize, though Michael was deeply hurt. MJ begged his brother to withdraw the single, since his own fans would not care, but Jermaine's career would be ruined. Unwisely, Jermaine did not, and although the version of "Word to the Badd!" that appeared on his album did not contain the acid lyrics, the single and album were commercial failures due to public contempt over the cynical attack on Michael. Jermaine was dropped from his Arista contract soon after and remains unsigned to any label." It is a really old song, I hear it sometimes on TV programs or on radio. Ok I don't know the name or any lyrics but I really need to know what it's called! I saw the music video, It starts off with a woman talking to another woman on the phone, both african american. Then it's one of those women in a green dress in her room. She is looking out her window and watching a man in a leather jacket (I think) walking out of her house and down the drive way. The lyrics are something about the boy being through a lot of pain and not believing their relationship is real. It's like R&B I think, and I'm pretty sure it's new and kinda popular right now because I heard it on the radio and it was on TV. I know it's not specific but that's all I know! moreResolved Question: What is this Lily Allen song?

I heard it on the direc tv radio yesterday while I was in my room. I dont normally listen to spanish music but my parents had it on. I couldnt hear the lyrics too well either but I liked the beat. There was a part where it had girls singing what sounded like "Oh es Oh es Oh es Oh es Oh es" five times with the oh es. And then there would be another beat with a guy singer that I will not try and mimic using text. To me it sounded like a remix but it may not be. Again, it was on spanish direc tv radio and I didnt hear much lyrics. But it was definitely spanish. Please help! moreResolved Question: how did good lyricism become unpopular in the mainstream (for hip hop)?
like at the peak of the golden ages, you would get all this insight and flow (public enemy, a tribe called quest, boogie down productions, eric b and rakim , etc.) on the radio and tv, and then later there was tupac, biggie, nwa, snoop dogg - still good. but now it's like lyrically, 85% of mainstream rap is trash and every rapper wants to own a clothing line, and all their singles are ringtones or chick songs with simple hooks and half naked women in their videos. it's like a lot of the best lyrics are found underground. why are good lyrics not really accessible through the radio and tv? moreVoting Question: what the name of the song with 'mr something and me'?

I really like this song a lot, but I can't figure out what the lyrics mean. My best guess is that it's pointing out the negatives of greed, most likely corporate greed. Does any one else have another answer, or hopefully the right answer :) moreVoting Question: What do you think of these rap lyrics?
Verse One: So from whence did this weird mystic art arise Of taking music and it transforming to our eyes It helps us see past the evil deceit and the lies And especially and certainly the Devil’s disguise It helps us stay away from the criminal ties If we have music we feel lifted up to the skies Without music we feel as small as flies And the devil he tempts tries to fool with our minds Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take But the number of times it takes our breath away Music has done that for me in numerous ways It is responsible for a lot you see in me today It runs through my mind in work and at play I even think about it in bed where I lay I believe that it is safe for me to say That it can change you In everything you do It doesn’t matter who tells you that you won’t get far Or even who tells you to come to a bar Just stand your own guard And try as hard As you possibly can And only then Will you be able to go And make music bro And everyone will clap aloud and call out your name And they will do time and time again This you will win and this you will gain You are like a wild animal to tame So come on and move it Live your life for the music Chorus x2: It’s time to realize What music can do It’s time to realize Music can flow through you It’s time to realize It can help you too Why don’t you try it out, it’s true you foo Verse Two: Now that you have figured out what to do Again it is time for me to help you Your mind must renew And all cleared too You got to think of lyrics and words Try as hard as you can not to curse You don’t want to get carried away and end up in a mental Hurst Now every verse Must be thought up well It must be used for music, not to yell Now everyone try at the sound of the bell Just kidding, I’ve still got more to tell You don’t want to be some rapper that all he does is swearing Then they turn around and start frowning Because they got FCC and protestees Getting mad and they say “Gee, I wonder why that would happen, it’s not me” Then they are banned from radio and TV So my advice is to make it clean And no this really is not obscene You don’t really want to make a big scene You just want to make music with your team And now that you know the info you won’t be able use it Unless you live your life for the music Chorus x2 © May 19, 2009 Jordan Rouse ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for the inputYeah there are but i can't figure out how to fix them. Thanx though. moreResolved Question: are songs that are coming out now not being givin cedit they deserve?
