I want to know how much digital scrapbookers get paid to make kits. Some websites buy the rights to the kit then sell it. And some website earn part of the money from sold kits, and the other part goes to the designer. First of all i would like to know how much the designer makes in either circumstance. Then which way would you prefer to be paid? I am trying to make a business plan and need some realistic numbers but i have no idea. I am wanting to start a digital scrapbooking online business, just selling kits. What do you think? Resolved Question: Can our animal shelter sell digitally scrapbooked greeting cards?

Our animal shelter routinely does (I shouldn't say the shelter does, I do lol) photoshoots for the shelter, and sells prints of the dogs on greeting cards/postcards/large framed prints, 100% of the proceeds going to their Animal Rescue Fund. I am also an artist and do paintings, sketches etc that are also sold, and do commissions that 100% of the proceeds go to the shelter. So far, we have never used anything that would remotely be considered copywritten material. A few months ago I took up digital scrapbooking (as I had made homemade scrapbooked greetings for the shelter as well) and have purchased and downloaded several kits online (probably close to 10gigs at this point). Before I started the digital scrapbooking, I had a large hardcover coffee table book printed of dogs at the shelter, that was to be sold for fundraisers )but currently is just on display at the shelter). I think a scrapbooked book including happy ending stories would be much nicer, and would also like to make digital scrapbooked greeting cards. Though none of the profits go to me personally, I imagine I would need a commercial use license to do this? Some of the kits did come with one (mainly ones I purchased) but a lot of the freebies did not, and I cannot remember all of the designers to contact them for permission. Does anybody know what would be the most appropriate approach to take, should I just start over and contact designers first? I would offer to credit their work on the backs of the cards, but I usually use elements and papers from several kits, so that would take forever :S more

Resolved Question: I can't open digital scrapbook kits after I download them. Something to do with .png file or zip.?

When I try and open it a message says that the file cannot be open in windows photo gallery. It also will not open in my Adobe Photo shop. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this. I have recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for MAC to use for digital scrapbooking. There are so many websites that you can buy scrapbooking kits, paper, clipart, etc. from. I cannot figure out how to add the kits and paper that I have bought already to the stock images and paper on Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. I can't seem to find a way to import them. The whole reason I downloaded this program was because I was told that "Elements" had this capability. I need a program that let's me pull paper and kits from anywhere on the web not just product from the company that made the program. Thanks for any and all help! more

I downloaded ISCRAPBOOK for my MAC and love it...however, it will only let you download ISCRAP Kits and if you download any other kits, they won't upload properly in the kit. I am getting someone with an existing website involved in digital scrapbooking kit sales, but neither one of us are sure what we need to do it or even how to go about it. What is the best way to let people download a kit, once they've purchased a digital scrapbook kit, then how do we house it so they can download the files for the kit? I’m using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 right now and I want to upgrade programs. I love Photoshop and I’ve worked with CS2 and really liked it (Really loved the actions in CS2 ) but there are SOO many programs out there so I’m looking for some advice on which program I should go with. I am looking for a program that isn’t crazy expensive, is user friendly and that I can use to digital scrapbook, edit home and professional photography, add “glitters” to images, create digital kits etc… If you could tell me the program you suggest and why (if there is another that has the actions option also), or why you wouldn’t recommend some programs that would be great!!Could you please be sure and tell me WHY you like the programs you suggest. Voting Question: I have an WD external hard drive. Now it's not working.?

It's a My Book Essentials, less than 4 months old. I was using it between my home computer and my husbands laptop. We are out of town right now and I tried to use the it and the laptop doesn't recognize it. The usb port works because my camera still works on it. We don't have another computer here to test it on. Any suggestions? I have more than 20,000 pics on this hard drive and would just die if I lost them all. Not including my digital scrapbooking kits and layouts. Please help !!! more
