Voting Question: How do I insert an image into a photoshop elements 8 layout and have it scale its size to my document?

I'm not even sure how to ask this question properly, as I am new to photoshop. I use photoshop elements 8 and I am creating a digital scrapbooking page. I have created a new document that is sized 12x12. I want to insert a digital scrapbooking paper to the document. When I drag the paper onto my new document, it is very large and I have to adjust the size. How can I move the paper onto my document and have the size fit my document without having to go to the corners and adjust the size? more

Voting Question: I have an WD external hard drive. Now it's not working.?

It's a My Book Essentials, less than 4 months old. I was using it between my home computer and my husbands laptop. We are out of town right now and I tried to use the it and the laptop doesn't recognize it. The usb port works because my camera still works on it. We don't have another computer here to test it on. Any suggestions? I have more than 20,000 pics on this hard drive and would just die if I lost them all. Not including my digital scrapbooking kits and layouts. Please help !!! more

Resolved Question: How can I resize photos for scrapbooking?

I'm a new mom and have taken tons of photos of my little boy (what new mom doesn't?) :) I would like to scrapbook them, but I would like to do a layout with several smaller photos on one page. The pictures I want to use are head shots, so they are too big to use as is from my 4x6 print. So my question is: How can I make my digital photo smaller, and could I still order them as 4x6 prints, but just with a smaller image on the photo paper? I had considered ordering wallet size prints, but most websites I've checked don't do wallet-size developing online, or else they require you to order multiple photos at a time in that size, and all of the same image. How do i put photos behind frames on a layout, without them over lapping into a frame next to it. I've tried resizing them first but they never fit perfectly into the frame, so there must be a way to put it behind the frame and make the bits that arent ''in'' the frame just disappear. Resolved Question: A question about digital scrapbooking and using overlays.?

I really love the look of overlays however I am not sure how they work. I have downloaded various nice overlays from the freebies section for my own personal use and I can never seem to incorperate them onto my layout. What happens is whenever I move the layout on to my background it either turns completely black or white with black pixles around the lettering and is not transparent. I've tried everything I know how to figure it out and am still not getting anywhere. By the way I am using the old Photoshop 5.0. more
