Resolved Question: how do you format Word text boxes?

I am working on a scrapbook page, and I am trying to fit my journalling, which is about 6" x 3" in 14 "arial font, into a curve to fit the shape and style of the page. I cannot use WordArt, because it doesn't allow me to use that many characters, and if I try to insert a shape, I can insert the text into that shape, but cannot shape the text to the contours of the shape, it just stays rectangular. I've been trying for 2 hours and getting super frustrated. Any help????? more

Resolved Question: How to fix ineffective invitations?

I have a very dear friend who asked me if she could throw my husband and I a baby shower. How sweet. Of course, we said sure. We're military and live 800 miles away from our hometown at the moment (we'll be driving in for the shower) so we can't really physically help her out or anything. The thing is, this friend doesn't make a ton of money, and thinks invitation cards are a waste of money. (My mother is catering it, to ease some of the financial burden on my friend) So she decided to print up invitations at home. No problem, I thought. And how cute and personal. I asked her to send me one for my scrapbook. So, when my invitation came...well, it's just awful, really. She used font that was so frilly it was hard to read, and it's just printed on plain copy paper, and the envelopes she used are stock envelopes from her job, with the company's letterhead on the upper corner and everything. Arg. I worried about them looking cheap, or worse, people throwing them away entirely, thinking they're junk mail. But, I could tell she was really proud of it, so I didn't say anything. It's been a week, and we've asked around and nobody else seems to have gotten an invitation. She said she sent them out, so...I'm not sure what to do now. Do I send out a round of my own invitations? Just start calling people? Email? I don't know what to do--we're making a special (and long) trip for this shower, so I'd love a good turnout, and I know it'll hurt my friend if nobody comes. I'm just wondering what the polite thing to do is, here.The shower is in three weeks, so if I don't figure this out now, it's going to be too late. Thanks everyone. :) more

Resolved Question: Cricut? Or other machine?

All my friends have a cricut, and they love them. I really like them too, except I definatly don't have the money to buy all the extra items you need to purchase to truly enjoy one. Therefore, I have been looking into other machines where you can use any font you have on your computer and ones you download from the computer, and you can weld the letters together. Resolved Question: How do I mass produce my alphabet design die cuts?

I have my own shop on etsy.com and I make scrapbook supplies. I draw my own designs and print and cut them out myself. I make an alphabet set and it takes quite a long time to cut out each individual letter. The letters are only about an inch tall. How can I mass produce these alphabet sets without having to cut them out by hand? The alphabet is not a font on the computer, just a scanned and printed image of the letters that I drew. I'm not sure if any of the die cutting machines like cricut or silohuette would do this or not. Resolved Question: Breast Cancer Scrapbook ideas?

My Spanish teacher, who is one of my most favorite teachers ever, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I decided that my class and I should secretly make a scrapbook for her and present it on a random day, just as a small way to show that we support her. We decided that each person will make his/her own page in which he/she will attach a picture of him/herself, and that the last few pages will be class pages. However, I'm not the most experience scrapbooker ever and was wondering if anyone had ideas on decorating pages. I've used stickers before, written/typed in crazy fonts (if anyone has new written font ideas, that'd be great), cut things out of construction paper and glued them on, glued in origami, cut things out of felt, and decorated with ribbon and yarn on some previous scrapbooks. As of now, I haven't picked out a scrapbook and colors yet, so I can't give you a color scheme, but ANY ideas would truly, truly be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance! One more thing, if anyone has been through breast cancer and/or knows anyone who has been through breast cancer, what are some quotes that helped you get through those tough times (extra brownie points if they're in Spanish! :P). I scrapbook and I want to find a way to make cool fonts or write things on my scrapbook. I usually use stickers and have recently tried stamps. Stamps are so expensive it seems when i want to use different fonts for different pages. When i print them out on the computer I got the stupid white in the background and it doesn't really match the page. First I'm going to have bubbles in a basket on all of the tables (I love bubbles! I just think they're so pretty) I'm also going to try to find a good deal on picture frames (maybe at a craft store or something). I love to scrapbook and at the end of all my scrapbooks I always put one last picture followed by the saying (that i made up) "A picture is worth a thousand memories" Inside all of the picture frames we would use the computer to print out (on nice paper/in a nice font of course) that saying, and that would be the wedding favor... yes or no? Hopefully I can find a good price on picture frames (even if its just a frame big enough for a wallet photo) becuase I've got a LOT of guests (150-200) and my fiance and I are young (21) and have no help from family to pay for it. We also just closed on a house!! *Yikes! so many major purchases at once!!*I am currently in the process of figuring out approximately how much we will need for the wedding, and once I figure that out we're probably going to take out a personal loan for it! My moms wedding cost them 30,000$ in 2006. My step father is VERY wealthy though so they were able to pay for it in cash.... Hopefully we can cut down on costs so that it doesnt come up to that much!!!! more

I've decided that this summer I'd like to get my butt off of the computer. I'm 13 and my mom does not scrapbook, but we have lots of photos. So far I have some puffy stickers, speech bubble stickers, some paper, and markers (not sure if they are acid-free).
