Ok like I said in my question I'm 13 and I'm looking for a hobby. I like watching anime and reading manga... but that's not something I can do a lot without my Mom worrying about what I'm reading or watching all the time. I like to draw (somewhat), but I suck at it and I'm not a girly-girl either... I'm more of a tomboy. I already play the Trumpet and I want to lear to play the guitar (my friend can most likely tech me) but my Mom doesn't want to pay that much. I like karate and tikwando but I just got a laptop so my mom won't pay for it... NO SCRAPBOOKING OR CROCHETING OR KNITTING!!!!! Like I said before I really need your help. -Thanks! :)I also like Japanese culture and stuff like that ... I also want to learn some Japanese... but my mom won't pay for really expensive stuff... Resolved Question: When and where to tell your parents you're Wiccan?

Alright, so I'm a 13 year old Wiccan (Well... almost, I'm self-dedicating tomorrow Yay! :D) If you don't want to read the backround on this just scroll down to the next paragraph but I think it would help on answering this question.... Anyways both of my parents are Christian, my step-dad more so than my mom, and I used to be a Christian too. I went to a Christian academy for about 3 or 4 years and I was never really exposed to any other religion besides Christianity. When I found out that my aunt was homosexual, I was Christian at the time, I didn't think that your sexual orientation made a difference in religion... until there was a lesson in bible class about gay/lesbian/bi, ect. They said that whoever is like that will go to hell. I was already sort of drifting away from Christianity because I didn't feel any spiritual connection or a want to learn more and praise God and what not, and that just pushed me even further away from Christianity. Well, my step-dad and I went to a bookstore sometime after that and I saw a book of Wiccan spells on the shelf and said ,"Ooh daddy can I have that pretty book?" (because it had sparkles on it being the little girl I was) and he said "Absolutely not." I didnt know why he said that so I asked him and he said "Because you cant have it" (or something along those lines). And so I accepted that. Then a couple years later we moved and started going to a new church where they're like you can't do this, this, or this. So I was pretty upset but accepting of that. But that was also when I started realizing that men are pretty much dominant to the extent where in church (or at least all of the ones we went to) it is "speak when spoken to" for the women and children. That pushed me even further away. Then summer of 2008 I went to a Christian camp with my youth group for 7 days and at the camp all they preached and taught about is "we need to spread the word" and "our God is the ONLY true God" or "ours is the true religion"... and I just couldn't accept that and I couldn't grasp that and didn't want to. That is what really "pushed me over the cliff" so to speak. So I told my mom I had accepted the Lord while I was there (so she'd get off of my back about the whole "have you been saved yet? Are you sure?" thing because she was literally asking me that every 5 minutes) but obviously I didn't and from then on I was switching back and forth between no religion and Christianity. Then I finally found my common sense and started researching other religions and I was actually leaning toward Buddhism, but even that didn't feel right. Then one night, my mom was hosting a scrapbooking party and one of her friends asked me if I was Wiccan (because I'm vegan). My mom answered for me: "She'd better not be! She's Christian." I thought that it was rude and rather impertinent of her to answer a question for me about what I believe. I am grateful that she did though because at the time I had no idea of what Wicca was. So I reasearched it and... it just felt... right. It felt like I was home, ya know? Sorry, it's kinda hard to explain. And at that moment I knew it was (and is) the right path for me. So I am not very good at keeping secrets from my parents, my mom imparticularly, and I have been thinking about "coming out of the broom closet" to my family and my friends. Here's the problem: 1.I'm pretty sure that my parents will freak out. I know for a fact that they won't kick me out but they probably won't be happy. 2. my whole entire family on my mom's side is Christian... that will definately cause some awkward family get togethers 3. I probably won't be able to hang out with my little cousins (who I absolutely love) 4. all of my friends are Christian... I don't know if they'll stay friends with me or not. But there are also benefits: 1. I might be able to practice my religion freely 2. I might be able to buy books to further my knowledge 3.I might be able to celebrate the Sabbats and Esbats ON THEIR ACTUAL DAYS (I have to plan my rituals around when my parents are going to be gone) 4. I wont have to worry about my parents finding my BOS (I hide it under my bed right now). So I decided that the possible benefits outweigh the risks and am planning on coming out of the broom closet. I recently found out that we are going out to dinner on the day of the new moon, and since that is on the day of new beginnings (the new moon) I figure I should tell them there. My reasoning is: 1. They can't yell and scream at a restaurant... they'll make themselves look like fools. 2. We always talk about important things at restaurants. I've also been thinking of a plan of how I should tell them. I'm going to tell them "Mom, dad, Christianity isn't the right religion for me anymore." and after I say that I'll see what their reactions are. If it's "Oh?" then I'll tell them I'm Wiccan. If their reactions are "What?!?!" then I'll just tell them that I'm going to start researching other religions and after theyve haafter theyve had time to process that I'm not Christian, I'll tell them I've chosen Wicca. So what do yall think of that plan? Is that a good idea or not? What do you suggest I do, come out or stay in the broom closet? What are your experiences with coming out of the broom closet? Any suggestions on what I should do beforehand? What if they completely reject it, what then? How should I tell my friends? Even if my parents reject it, should I still tell my friends that I'm Wiccan? Any suggestions along those lines would be great. Sorry about the length of this. Please nobody against Wicca... open-minded Christian suggestions are welcome though :) Thanks so much! Blessed Be! more

I'm taking part of a student exchange, where I go to France for three months. I have really bad memory, so I want to make a scarpbook. I thought it would be fun. the problem is, I have no clue what I'm doing. I'm not that good at art, but my friends say you dont really need to be. I was just wondering what kinds of supplies you need, and ideas and things like that? Ok, so I've already started making the scrapbook and have most of my pages planned and everything, but I was wondering if anyone has any idea on cute things I could include or advice on scrapbooking or anything?? I've made a couple before but I'm absolutely determined to make this an incredible present! I want every single page to be beautiful and if he cries, that'd be alright;) We're one of those couples that started out at best friends and still are, and he's really been there for me no matter what. It's just some crazy love, and its perfect:) So I want to show him how much he means to me. Right now I have two movie ticket stubs (we've only ever seen one movie together! haha), theme park tickets, aquarium tickets, a note he left me one date, a pressed flower that came from the first boquet he ever gave me, and of course TONS of pictures. Resolved Question: ?Have/Do you have anxiety attacks?

i do, and these are my recounts of the two anxiety attacks that really affected me the most. the other bits are pieces of anxiety here and there that freak me out and ruin my life. please. im cuurious to know if this is how your anxiety feels? my first real anxiety attack. the only one i can swear was real. i was in the local craft store buying stickers and papers for my new found hobby: scrapbooking. Everything was shiny and little and all so overwhelming. My mom and sister asked me if i wanted this sticker or that paper. i couldn;t careless. all i was focused on was this weird feeling in my head. my heart began racing. i got dizzy beyond belief. i fel;t i was going to pass out. my body had been consumed by someone and i was slowing losing myself. like a dream sort of. thats how it felt. my mom came running when she saw me there freaking out. she walked me out to the van and sat with me while i continued freaking out. she checked my sugar, my pulse, even checked my pupils. my heart rate was a little high, but i was physically healthy as could be. this drove me wild. why did i feel so strange, but also be healtthy at the same time. I was at the park. hanging out with my forever friend and a girl who we were mildly aqwuainted with. Everything was gonig fine, and since the last attack i;d been afrtaid to leave my home in fear of another attack, but therei was at the park feeling safe, alive. then i looked up. at all the lwaves, and the trees and the branches. i let my mind wander and fall into the whole idea of being smooshed by trees. i freaked out. i felt ou of it, like unreal, as if someone had just brought me into a night mare. i scratched at my arms to ground myself, to prove to myself i was real, and i needed to calm down, but it was of no use. i told my friend i had to go home and began running. i ran to my house. my feet were numb, i couldnt feel them at all. I felt as if though my body was controllling me, and my mind wanted to escape.thanks. but i am recieving help. well i was at least, and i was diagnosed and i was on prozac. to theperson who also has anixety: is this how yours feel? more

My best friends birthday is on Wednesday and I'm making her a scrapbook. I already printed out the pictures and I planned out each page. Theres going to be about 10 pages. Now I just need help putting it all together. Where can I get cheap (like $20-$30) materials? I know I need scrapbooking paper,stickers,pens(gel type ones),stencils and stuff like that. Should I get a pre-made one from target for $25 or just get everything separately and do it myself? The pre-made one comes with: 12x12 scrapbook,paper,card stock,stickers,stencils,page protectors and some other stuff. Also what are some neat and original ideas to put the scrapbook together and make it my own? I know I need to put pictures,quotes,descriptions,inside jokes, but what else? Thanks! :) more

Resolved Question: Does it appear "cheap" to give hand-made gifts for Christmas?

With Christmas coming really quickly, I'm trying to think of gift ideas to give away to family and friends. We don't have very much money (I'm sure we're not the only ones) and wondering what everyone thinks of giving home made gifts. Some ideas I've come up with so far are photo albums, personalised stationary (calendars etc), Christmas goodies (brownies, cookies etc), hand made soaps, and clothing for our 2 young nieces. I'm a very creative person, I'm into scrapbooking, crafts and cooking. I want to know whether others think that gifts like that will be appreciated. Personally I love hand made gifts but not so sure other's do too. Any thoughts are appreciated and other gift ideas would be great too.We have a lot of people to buy for really. In my family there is my parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother and I always give something to my paternal grandparents too as I'm very close to them. On my partners side there is his parents, 1 sister, her husband and 2 young daughters, his other sister and her partner, and his nan and 3 cousins. We have a lot to do with them so would like to give them something small each. He also has his other nan, 2 aunties and a cousin. I don't think it's necessary to buy for them as we don't know them very well but they usually buy something for us and I don't want to feel unnappreciative by not giving something back. Unfortunately they're the kind that count a gift on monetary value but don't seem to understand that we just don't have plenty of money to spend on gifts so not sure what to give them. I was thinking maybe just a hamper, ie. basket/box filled with goodies to share.Btw, by home made I mean properly made items, not just bits of paper stuck on a cardboard box or something. I intend to put time and effort in to make the gifts as well as possible. Also, I don't know how to crochet and I'm not the best knitter either so those aren't really options. I think we'll still have to buy some gifts either way, our brother in law doesn't like anything that doesn't have "Holden" on it lol. more

Resolved Question: I need some creative ideas for christmas gifts?

I am not making any purchases for any gifts simply because i have absolutely no money. Zilch. So this year for Christmas, I want to make creative things for the people i am giving to. Any other time i have tried to make gifts they turned out cheesy and unappreciated. I want to make something special and not just a homemade card or something obviously last-minute. The people i am giving gifts to are: My mom, dad, my friend Jill, and my cousin Candice. [Short description of each person]: Mom: Loves cleaning, but doesnt like to admit it, and loves decorating. Dad: Sports FANATIC. Will pretty much watch anything sports-related. I was thinking football tickets till i discovered how much they cost. Jill: Art Genius. She can draw fantastically. She is the best artist i know, and is personally into anime and wolves. Candice: Loves shoes,kids, scrapbooking, picture-taking. (Remember guys, NO purchases. This is a top secret operation this year lol i dont want anyone to know that i am even getting them anything.) Also, I would like to add that I do have one gift done for my best friend Taylor. She lost her home to Katrina back in '05, and still has trouble calling it home over here. So I made her a DVD with a slideshow and a song playing in the background called "This Is Home" by Switchfoot. My best friend is a single mom (of a 10 month old baby) who can't always get/afford a babysitter. So, when I'm in town, we usually have to find something free/inexpensive to do and okay for the baby to be around. It's pretty hot out, so we're trying to stay inside. We usually grab a light lunch and walk the mall a little bit, but that's getting old. Also, she isn't into video games and doesn't have much in the way of board games. Resolved Question: What should I ask for, for my birthday?

I kinda hate seeing these types of questions, but I have no ideas. So I need help, haha. My birthday is in about three weeks, and my parents, brothers, friends, etc. have been pestering me about what I want for my birthday. I came up with a few ideas...And they're all books, lol. My brothers hate buying me books because I finish them too fast, so I need some more ideas. My mom wants to buy me a bike, but used to she can buy me something else. I bought myself a camera 2 years ago, and I love it, so I don't want another one (too expensive, anyways) and my brother bought me an iPod last year, so I don't need/want that either. I love to read, and listen to music, and watch movies and anything artsy, I basically love. I'm kinda a grandma at heart, lol? Because I'm always like scrapbooking, or crocheting, or making cards, etc. So I need some ideas. I have a TON of art stuff already, so that's pretty much out of the question. Resolved Question: Should I go to my stepdaughters?

Back in September my step daughter made it clear that she does not care for my company. I make a trip to Big Bear twice a year for scrapbooking with our fellow friends & family. I put her in charge of this time and long story short, she made everyone wait for her and refused & told the place absolutely no one else was to get the keys to the place. We had all taken the day off and waited more than 4 hours for her to arrive. She apologized to everyone that what she meant was that anyone BUT me could pick up the keys. I've written about this before and feel comfortable in my decision now that I limit as little as time as possible with her. In fact, I prefer not to have any contact with her. Now her dad wants to go visit her this weekend. He has gone before without me because of the way she treated me. He just found out that she had changed her name to drop his last name and is using her moms original last name. (she is married so she is also including her married last name). This has hurt him deeply. He supports me in my decision & feels that she did me wrong and understands why I don't want to go. But this time around he's asking me to go to support him. I'll be honest, if I go I feel that I must speak up to this brat and put her in her place. But that would only make matters worse. I want to support my husband but I can't stand the idea that I'm expected to just stand there and say nothing. Any ideas or comments?I should add that when her dad and I first were together we had a wonderful relationship. Now her mom is living with her taking care of the baby. It's possible that she's acting this way out of respect for her mom, but I don't get it. more

These are the last few pages...also as its for my friends 21st the majority of the pictures are of her, there are also a few of us together and her and her boyfriend...does this sound ok? i wasn't sure if she would want a scrapbook filled with pictures of herself.....what would you think if you received this gift? We all have one... maybe more. Something you love doing, regardless if you get much time to do it... We all still are individuals and have other loves and intrests besides our families, whether it be reading, painting, flea marketing, scrapbooking... ect. What do you love doing? Myself: I just love decorating my home. I thrive on having a comfy spot for my family and friends to relax in and always have my mind open to new ideas using old things. Mason jar soap dispensers, antique kids chairs for my little guys... old boxes for storage... antique dresser repurposed as my bathroom sink... on and on... lol And you?Oh... and I LOVE boating. First time scrapbooker. I am working on a budget, but have already exceeded it a lot. I have everything to work with that I can possibly think of. My problem is coming up with a Title for a page. Then, adding an appropriate picture to go with it. Also, I lost my best friend who was also my dear Brother just last week. He was 43. I want to make a Very Special, memory book of just the two of us, and of course, I will add pictures of his wife, and our parents and my son. Any ideas? Or, better yet, is anyone willing to send me a picture via e mail of their scrapbook pages? I have done research on the internet, but when I start on the page, my mind goes blank. All serious suggestions are welcome. Oh, yeah, Can anyone give me some space saving, organizing, tips for my scrapbooking items. Hi guys! Okay, I have 2 scrapbooks - one for myself, with family, friends, and my boyfriend in it. And the other for my boyfriend and I, with memories of us. For the second, we need some help. We have been together for 3 years and want to put in things that we have done together. For example, not just pictures, but movie tickets, concert tickets, and things like that. I was wondering if you guys had any other ideas that we could use. We go on small vacations often, usually for a day or weekend, so we have pictures of exciting things, but what kind of keepsakes do you put in your scrapbooks? Any help would be great! I have not completed my own scrapbook, and it was my first. So this project for my boyfriend and I is kind of new to both of us, but we are having so much fun. I'm getting older now, (18), and I feel like I'm getting to the stage where hs drama, and kid games are just stupid. Going to the mall is fun, but not to "hang", and things like driving around with my friends and causing scene's is only fun every once in awhile. I think it would good to get a new hobbie. im planning a graduation trip for me and like 3-7 other friends. we want souvenirs from all 48 states, but they cant cost a lot! this trip is gonna be over 6-8 thousand dollars total. weve got a few ideas. (shot glasses (not cuz we drink, but cuz they common) pictures=duh, license plate name keychains) were also doin the thing where u take empty water bottles, and takin water from a lake/ocean/ watever and putting that states dirt in it. Resolved Question: How can I do scrapbooking and be proud of it?

I like the idea of scrapbooking but I hate the way my pages turn out. Now I won't scrap anymore. I am now trying to break that and print pics and look for coordinating materials but I dont feel proud of my photos or the way I arrange my photos on the page, or the way I designed the papers and embellishments on my page. I have taken scrapbooking classes before but they never taught us how to make a picture coordinate wiht your page--we never used pictures, they just taught me design. I have looked for this kind of class but could not find it. Besides not appreciating how the page turns out, in the beginning I don't like my photos. When it comes to photos of me or for my own events, I don't capture moments--people take pics of me smiling and that's it. I take pics of everything else. i can get someone else in a good moment like kissing their husband or doing silly things, but I am critical of those pics too b/c i feel they are not technically correct in the way I took them. I know I am very critical but I just look at my pages and they look juvenile, not like an adult made them with love like the way i see friends make them. How can I conquer these issues? more

Resolved Question: Any ideas on where to find a good stand-alone craft organizer?

Hi, all. One of my presents I'd like to get my mother for Christmas is a good craft organizer. One that stands on it's own would be best. She has a lot of stuff, and something that she could put right next to her sewing table would perfect. She does all sorts of crafts - sewing, quilting, crocheting, scrapbooking, etc. She's the person who, whenever a friend or co-worker needs some pants hemmed or taken in or needs something like couch cushions made, they all go to her. Any suggestions on where I can get an organizer for all her fabrics, threads, and supplies? I have Michael's, Joann Fabrics, Walmart, Kmart, and Target all within close proximity to my house, so if anyone has found something at one of those stores, that would be amazing. It's better than nothing, I suppose. We have 2 kittens who, if they can get their mischievous little paws on a spool of thread, WILL make a maze with it around the house.
