Resolved Question: Ideas for a Alice in Wonderland quinceanera (Sweet 15) party? PLEASE HELP(:?

So I'm 13, and I'm starting to plan my quinceanera. Its like a sweet 16 but for 15. Its a spanish tradition. (Im puerto rican) I dont want it to be like a "normal" alice in wonderland party. I want it to be reallly trippy. With a lot of rainbow ballons, funky lighting, a funky topsy turvey cake. Like this one: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/154/399510193_ed439905ed.jpg just different colors and designs. My court will all be dressed up as characters from AIW, and im going to be "Alice" and my mom is going to be the "queen of hearts" I want to have a desk at one side of the room with a rvaen on it, pieces of paper, and a pen so guest can leave me notes to put in the ravens cage. (The raven is going to be a stuffed one from a crafts store.) And i want to put up on the wall right near the desk the saying of Why is a raven like a writing desk. I want white rabbit foot prints all over the floors. And i want my mom to sit in a high thone like looking chair since she is the queen. And i want to have a siting place for me on a mushroom. (not a real one :P) I want the entrace to have fake little trees with with white and red roses. And the entrance to have these like silver streamers and the door frame outlined in gold to look like a mirror. And a sign saying enter wonderland through the looking glass. I want the halls to look real trippy, with designs on the wall in way weird colors. I want the courts table to be like this extra long table, with all sorts fo tea pots and plates and things like in the movie, in the part of the mad tea party. All the toher guests tables with have tea cups and plates, and little bottles saying drink me and cupcakes and cookies saying eat me in the midle of the table.I want a chess game somewhere, and a croquet game too. And flamingos in some places as well. The table wear the cake will be at will have cookies and cupcakes saying eat me too. And the food table with have more little bottles, a punch bowl, and different things to eat. I want have a funky dress. And i want white and red roses at different part of the room, with silver paint cans that have a red brish here and there to amke it seem like the roses where painted. I want to have a hookah on a clear table some where. And i want to have funky shiney shoes. And ive been thinking of putting my cats in a certain room, and have that room be the pet the cheshire cats room. I also want to have a stage so a band can go up there if i do get a band. And i also would like one wall to say Happy Merry Un-birthday to Genesis or somthing. I also would like random purple grins and eyes around the room to be the cheshire cat. Id also like to have funky fabric in some places. i really dont know why. I also want to have a mirror for guest to sign but i dont know about that..... And i want my entrance to be the song Brick by Boring Brick by PAramore to be plaing, and durin the instrumental part at the begginging The white rabbit comes out of this area and into the room of the party saying "Im late im late im late!" and i follow him saying mr rabbit wait! and then all the toehr characters come out, and ending with my mom saying "Off with their heads!" What do you think about that? And do you have any other ideas? Also how much do you think this will cost? Most of the decoratiosn will be paper, liek the rabits feel and cat grins and stuff. My mom can make those with her scrapbooking machine the cricut. And i want to have the party at a hotel ballroom, maybe so i can have enough room.OR a theatre lobby. And the dress i chose will be pretty cheap. $220 while most others are $600. Thanks in advanced(: more

Resolved Question: Cutting shapes out of wool felt?

I need to cut some wool felt into little flowers, like daisies. I have alot to do and don't want to cut out each one individually. I was thinking of using a scrapbooking hole punch, but I know those are for paper. Does anyone know if those are strong enough for a thicker felt? Or, is there a fabric punch out there? my plan was to cut one shape at a time, just not with scissors... which would take forever. If I could use some type of shape puncher that would be great, I just don't think the scrapebooking ones are strong enough. more

Resolved Question: Looking for Watercolor paint infused onto paper not pan...?

Several years ago I was at a scrapbooking convention and purchased a set of watercolors that had the paint infused onto paper instead of sitting in pans. This was a great product!!! My kids and I used this -- no fuss no muss. I punched a hole through one corner of the strips, put a ring through them and hung them on my craftroom wall. I LOVED these. Unfortunately our basement flooded and I want to replace these. I cannot find them on the web anywhere. Has anyone heard of these, and if so, where can I get another set? more

Resolved Question: I can's punch a hole with my new Fiskars Eyelet Punch Set for scrapbooking- please help - Thanks!?

I just bought the Fiskars Eyelet Punch set and I am following the directions: I am using a regular sheet of paper, placed on a craft mat. I hold the pen looking item with the hole punch side down. I hold the bottom of the piece in one hand and lift up the top piece with the other hand and then let go. I hear a loud snap, but all that is left on the paper is an indented circle, but it did not cut through the paper. Even when I pull up the top piece a bunch of times, it still doesn't punch. What am I doing wrong? Thanks so much for the help!!!Can I return it (to AC Moore) if I already openned the packing and starting (trying to) use it? Thanks for the help! more

Resolved Question: Link to wide selection of decorative paper punches?

Do you use a lot of paper punches for scrapbooking or card making. Please, give me links to your sources! I've decided to eliminate my stamping because I find that I use punches more often and need to supplement what I already have. My local scrapbooking haunts have a limited collection. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Storing paper punches. What do you use?

I've gradually been accumulating paper punches for my scrapbooking and have more than will fit in my small container from Joann's. They are just too heavy for it. I'm having trouble finding other clear plastic containers that will fit on a bookshelf. I'm currently using the container at the link below. The newer punches are both larger and heavier and the holder gives way if you pick it up by the handle. I need to be able to place them on a standard bookshelf, but the top has to CLOSE so I don't get bashed by a falling punch (they are stored on the top 2 shelves). Suggestions Please! http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3016&PRODID=xprd212289&source=search more

Resolved Question: Scrapbooking Question!!!!?

I have a question about my scrapbooking. I want to make a scrapbook, but Instead of using the usual plastic covering sheet protector things, I want to not use them. I want to keep it out. I want to make the book wqith just the paper, no plastic coverings. How do I go about this? Is there something I can buy at the craft store to help me? Or do I just hole punch it according to the holes on the book, and just put them in. If I just put them in, will it make the pages shorter? Meaning will it make the cover of the book go over the paper 4 inches or something? Hopefully that made sense, any help would be greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Tips for storage and organization!?

I am a horrible horde when it comes to getting scrapbooking supplies. When there's a good sale, I'm there and I stock up whether I need it now or not. I'll use it eventually in some form. Right now, though, I've realized I'm broke and out of space. My tiny basement bedroom looks like a tornado blew through it. I have some storage bins that I've bought over time at WalMart but what I have isn't enough! What else can I do? I have a ton of paper. Plain cardstock and I love getting the various patterned stacks. I have gel pens, colored pencils, markers, glitter glue, and dual tip pens. Then there's stickers upon stickers upon stickers and tons of punched out embelishments. I also have pictures scattered everywhere. Any ideas to get me organized and find my bedroom again? more

Resolved Question: Scrap-booking question?

I love to do scrapbooking. the problem, I have is the new 3D pages. When I first started they said you should use plastic acid free sleeves to cover your pages, The new 3D pages load the pages up with tags, envelopes, journaling hidden behind pictures, memorbilia. You need access to these items. So you can't put them into a sleeve. How do you insert them into your scrapbook. I have punched holes in them like notebook paper, but they do not lay correctly, They are so heavy they tear the punched holes even with the reinforcements. How do I put these into my albums , all the magazines and T.V. show is how to do 3D layouts , but not how to insert them into your book.stoohlio not quite sure about 2nd advice. what aree page turners? and how do you attch a second sleeve?memphis qt: I can not adhere to the rule of just using what you buy in a store. . I am doing heritage albums also. I made a page with my mothers picture and used an old pin that she wore. In order to put the pin in( thickness) I used core board. 2 pcs back to back, then I put on the decorative paper. Then the pictures and memorabilia. by this time page was quite thick and heavy. also I have use pop-ups and fan folded items and Iittle bags of items that need to be taken out and looked at. more
