Voting Question: What are your favorite Hobbies...things you do to add some peace and enjoyment to your life

...tell me your hobbies but do not include TV, movies or internet browsing...Im looking for something that not the norm. I realize that after putting in a rough week of work I need something that I can enjoy that calms me down. ....when I was younger that used to mean that I grab the basketball and run out to the court (things have changed) and my knees said no more of that! hobbies now....scrapbooking, writting poems and reading a good book...these things I really enjoy.  more

my grandparents 50th aniversery is coming up soon, and us grandkids and kids are throwing them a huge surprise party. one of the things we're giving them, is a scrap book with memories from all of us, and their friends. i have to make my own page, and i was wondering what exactly to do. i want to make it really special, and i know that i should include memories ive shared with them, and maybe some pictures, but what else? maybe a poem? idk!! and how exactly should i layout and design the page? im not too experienced with scrap booking. answer please! it would be a lot of help!! :)  more

Resolved Question: Poem for my grandfather?

My grandfather is turning 80 this June. He has 8 children and 10 grandchildren (including me). My aunt is really big on scrapbooking and is going to do a scrapbook of things that each of his children/grandchildren are contributing. She's also going to fill it with various photos. Anyway, although I write poetry, I'd like something that's written by somebody with more skill. Whatever poem I choose I'm going to draw something that goes along with it, since art is more my nitch than poetry. If anybody could come up with suggestions as to a good poem, it would be much apreciated.  more

Resolved Question: Help needed with Adobe Reader please?

Hi, I have downloaded a background for scrapbooking, but it has saved as Adobe reader 8 pdf. I have already used Adobe on my laptop, a couple of weeks ago, but this is different. I would like to paste a poem I have already written in Microsoft Word onto the backround, but I have no idea how to do it. Can anybody help me to do this, or suggest a website where I can download free backgrounds I can do this with? (Preferably baby themed patterns, or something girly please.) Thanks in advance.  more

Resolved Question: I need ideas for a holocaust memorial project.?

For my history class we have to make a holocaust memorial project. We can do almost anything. Poems, sewing, woodwork, etc. I am a crafty person. I can crochet, knit, embroider, and very basic quilting. I also love scrapbooking. What should I do for my project? Anyone have a pattern or specific idea that I could do? Resolved Question: What to do for my great-grandfather's 80th Birthday?

I live in the states, he in Germany. My 9 year old son and I are going to fly to Germany and then surprise him at his actual party which the rest of the family is having for him. No one knows we're coming except my mom. My son is going to recite a german poem for him at the party. My mom wants me to make him a scrapbook, but I really hate scrapbooking. I'm very creative, but that's one thing I never want to do. What are some other things I could buy or make him that would be special? I don't want to dissapoint my mom, but like I said, scrapbooking is one thing that has never made me say, "Oh yeah, I wanna do that!". Anyway, please, any ideas would be much appreciated! Okay- first tell me if this is cheesy, I love scrapbooks, i think they're so cute and I was thinking for my sisters wedding shower to put together mini scrapbooks for the tables with pictures of her and her fiance. I love them more than printed picture books because you can personalize/detail them as much as you want. Does anyone have any examples or ideas of what I could include? Maybe a cute quote or poem? Resolved Question: Docopodge question?

I am trying to make a plaque, in which I adhere scrapbooking paper to wood, then, adhere clear paper with a poem (printed from a laser printer) to that, then seal the whole thing. I am having trouble with my paper wrinkling up when I add the docopodge. Can someone please help me with this, or is there a better way of doing this? I am using velum as the overlay with the poem.  more

I need to make a scrapbook for a wedding and I've had experience of scrapbooking but I want to make sure that this is professional. I need to print some poems and transfer them to the scrapbook paper and someone told me that Rub-on Transfer paper would work. How does it work if I have to do it at my house? Because how do I get the words on the paper for it? Because I have an already made transfer paper and I don't understand how I can get the words so they appear correctly?  more

My longterm boyfriend and I decided I would plan v-day this year, to shake things up. He's alwasy been amazing at this stuff so I really want to make this AMAZING for him! I have this really cute card i made of us (he's a fireman and I'm a soldier) from scrapbooking stuff but I'm stuck on thecutsie poem part of the card and at a loss for what else to do for him. Can anyone help with the poem and/or activities? Eventhough he's supposed to be getting pampered, I know he's got some big gift for me... and all I know is I'm cooking, but not sure what and that I want this card to be something he keeps forever and ever.
