Resolved Question: Can our animal shelter sell digitally scrapbooked greeting cards?

Our animal shelter routinely does (I shouldn't say the shelter does, I do lol) photoshoots for the shelter, and sells prints of the dogs on greeting cards/postcards/large framed prints, 100% of the proceeds going to their Animal Rescue Fund. I am also an artist and do paintings, sketches etc that are also sold, and do commissions that 100% of the proceeds go to the shelter. So far, we have never used anything that would remotely be considered copywritten material. A few months ago I took up digital scrapbooking (as I had made homemade scrapbooked greetings for the shelter as well) and have purchased and downloaded several kits online (probably close to 10gigs at this point). Before I started the digital scrapbooking, I had a large hardcover coffee table book printed of dogs at the shelter, that was to be sold for fundraisers )but currently is just on display at the shelter). I think a scrapbooked book including happy ending stories would be much nicer, and would also like to make digital scrapbooked greeting cards. Though none of the profits go to me personally, I imagine I would need a commercial use license to do this? Some of the kits did come with one (mainly ones I purchased) but a lot of the freebies did not, and I cannot remember all of the designers to contact them for permission. Does anybody know what would be the most appropriate approach to take, should I just start over and contact designers first? I would offer to credit their work on the backs of the cards, but I usually use elements and papers from several kits, so that would take forever :S more

Voting Question: What is the best software to be used for Digital Scrapbooking that allows you to import items you download?

I have downloaded alot of things from blogs but I need a program that will allow me to import the items so that I can create pages. I don't feel comfortable using photoshop as I am not that advanced or hi tech :) more

Resolved Question: I can't open digital scrapbook kits after I download them. Something to do with .png file or zip.?

When I try and open it a message says that the file cannot be open in windows photo gallery. It also will not open in my Adobe Photo shop. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this. I tried updating Windows photo gallery but couldn't figue that out either. Any other digital scrapbooking help / advise would be great. more

I just got Photoshop CS4 on a trial basis because I saw some of the cool signatures and pictures people have done with theirs. Now I'm stumped! I don't know a thing about digital scrapbooking so I have no idea what to do next. I've googled tutorials but they go on and on about everything BUT what I'd really like to know. Have any of you ever done digital scrapbooking? Do you know how to download the template and make it look decent? I just want to know what to do after I find the template I like. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: How do I download scrapbook kits from ANYWHERE on the web to Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for MAC?

I have recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for MAC to use for digital scrapbooking. There are so many websites that you can buy scrapbooking kits, paper, clipart, etc. from. I cannot figure out how to add the kits and paper that I have bought already to the stock images and paper on Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. I can't seem to find a way to import them. The whole reason I downloaded this program was because I was told that "Elements" had this capability. I need a program that let's me pull paper and kits from anywhere on the web not just product from the company that made the program. Thanks for any and all help! more

Resolved Question: Looking for MAC digital scrapbooking software that lets you download kits from ANYWHERE...help?

I downloaded ISCRAPBOOK for my MAC and love it...however, it will only let you download ISCRAP Kits and if you download any other kits, they won't upload properly in the kit. I want a great program for the MAC but would like the versatility of purchasing and downloading kits from any website. Thanks for any and all replies! :) more

Resolved Question: Wedding invitations, digital scrapbooking, digital paper ... help!!!?

My BFF is getting married next year and since I'm into paper crafts I offered to do her invitations and programs as my gift to her. She has chosen burnt orange as her main color and I can't seem to find any suitable patterned paper with burnt orange and ivory/ecru/cream, etc. to use as the background for the layered invitations I promised her. I am in the Caribbean and it's next to impossible to find patterned paper/cardstock in my country. In my online searches I've noticed digital scrapbooking and digital paper but I am SOOO busy I don't have time to learn all about them. Can you tell me what digital paper is? What about digital scrapbooking - what's that? Can you recommend a great website where I can download "paper" that might be suitable for her invitations, paper that I buy once and can use any way I like, as often as I like? Thanks! I am an avid scrapbooker and have just recently gotten into scrapping digitally. I use Photoshop to scrapbook and I download pieces and parts from various digital scrapbooking websites. I have a MacBook Pro, and I want to scrapbook digitally!! The only thing I can seem to find is the iRemember free trial, but it doesnt come with much, and Its only a 15 day trial, and almost $50 to purchase the software!! Voting Question: Do I need special software to have people be able to download files from a website?

I am getting someone with an existing website involved in digital scrapbooking kit sales, but neither one of us are sure what we need to do it or even how to go about it. What is the best way to let people download a kit, once they've purchased a digital scrapbook kit, then how do we house it so they can download the files for the kit? Is it best to have the files in an ftp site and then can it be downloaded from there. Can anyone explain to me what is needed? Help!! more

Voting Question: Adobe Photoshop Element 6 or CS3?

Which is better of the 2? Do both of these have really cool options, and this stuff you can download off the web, to do digital scrapbooking? I don't really know anything of either one, except I've seen some people's edited pictures, that have one or the other of the program, and I would like to get it, but its too expensive to just go and buy without knowing what you're getting. Resolved Question: Deleting folders while keeping contents?

Hi, I would SO appreciate any help with this subject, if in fact, it can be done. I have tons of folders in "My Pictures" with only one image in them. What I'm looking for, is a way to move the contents only of these multiple folders into only one folder, & then delete the lot of empty folders once the contents have been moved. Is there any way to this without having to move the folders contents one by one. (They are files I downloaded from a digital scrapbooking site, and they downloaded this way, with one image per folder, which is very inconvenient. Needless to say, I cancelled my subscription & went with a different site......or was it the way I downloaded them????) If anyone has any idea how to do this...thank you SO much, CG more

Resolved Question: A question about digital scrapbooking and using overlays.?

I really love the look of overlays however I am not sure how they work. I have downloaded various nice overlays from the freebies section for my own personal use and I can never seem to incorperate them onto my layout. What happens is whenever I move the layout on to my background it either turns completely black or white with black pixles around the lettering and is not transparent. I've tried everything I know how to figure it out and am still not getting anywhere. By the way I am using the old Photoshop 5.0. more

Call me stupid, but I'm new to Photoshop and all it's uses. I am using my Photoshop Elements 4 mainly for digital scrapbooking, and am not sure how the brushes that are shaped like things, are used. I saw a freeware download for different shapes, animals, leaves, etc. Are they used as stamps? Are they actual brushes that make designs on the "paper"?
