Scrapbooking For Kid Idea Questions asked
Open Question: What are bday gift ideas for a 13 yr old girl?
She's not a girly girl. that means no perfume, makeup, nail polish, smelly bath sets, etc. She's not a tom girl either. that means no sport equipment or anything you can find in a sports department. She's not a book worm. no books or anything else related. She's not a craft girl. No scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, beading, designing, origami, etc. She's not an artist. No canvases, paint, art kits, sketch books, etc. No gift certificates or gift cards. No cash either. Nothing pricey like iPods or laptops or cell phones or gadget stuff. No clothes! idk her size, and i don't wanna get her accessories. She's not the type. But she IS a dancer! She takes ballet and jazz! and loves hip hop (dance), but doesn't take it. she used to, for like one month. Ugh finding a gift for her is soooo hard! especially at 13. She's not really a kid, but not an adult or full teen either. NO I AM NOT RELATED TO HER!!!!! she's a friend. a good one :)Please no stupid stuff like thongs either! moreResolved Question: WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY WANT FOR CHRISTMAS?
I don't understand. Of course you want something. In the middle of the summer you get pissed off because your parents refuse to buy something for you. Then ask for it for Christmas! Aye aye aye. And if you honestly don't want anything, go buy stuff for the homeless, or work in a soup kitchen, or go read/tutor poor kids or something like that. I've done those kind of things, and believe me, the feeling is better than any feeling you get when recieving a gift. Anddddd here are some ideas if you are stuck. Some of them are for girls because well, I am a girl. Oh well. Sucks for you. (if you are a boy, that is.) Onward! -ipod -itunes gift cards. you can never have enough music -books, bookstore giftcards. Books are good. read. -a ringlet curling iron or a straightener. different hairstyles are fun. -makeup -green day cd -puzzles. puzzles are good. -brain teaser puzzles book. when you bored, you should spend your boredom doing something productive. -nintendo dsi. that thing is uber fun. -a camera. cameras are good. -sims 2 double deluxe. best game ever. -calvin and hobbes comic books. best comic ever. -a zebra snuggie. YES. just plain awesome. -fuzzy socks. -converse. i love converse. -an ihome -target giftcards. i love target. -victorias secret gift cards. underwear is good. but only good if you choose them. -glee first season dvd. one of the best shows ever. -a glitter embossing thing. THAT THING IS SUPER FUN. omg. -uggs. uggs are soft goodness. or you can go to target with your giftcard and get some good looking fuggs. they are just as good but the fur goes away after like the 2nd time you wear them. real uggs have softness FOREVER. this is a good thing. unless you live in arizona. -a puppy. puppies are goodness. -a mardi gras mask. why not? -abba greatest hits cd. -a purse and wallet to carry all of your giftcards. -puffs kleenex with vicks. heaven when you have a runny nose. -starbucks gift cards. because its too expensive to go out and buy with your own money. -footy pajamas. warm goodness. -laptop. coolness. -a car! yay! A nice little used one. or, if your parents are rich, an environment efficient hybrid. -donations to charities in your name. -a brand new super cool cell phone. Do you find yourself following your kid around with a camera taking pictures all the time? I swore I wouldn't be that parent, my father is/was like that and it bugged my brother and I so much, LOL, but alas, resistance was futile. My question: where/how do you store all the pictures? I'm not into scrapbooking that much, I have a large album for every year, but I still have tons of prints/memory cards full of pictures and I have no idea what to do with them all.I keep some, really precious ones, on memory cards because I simply don't trust my computer not to crash on me and lose them, LOL. moreResolved Question: Need ideas for scrapbooking pag?
My 5 yr old son had an antic type portrait done dressed like a kid in the 40 or 50 and its in sepia color. what can i write on his PAGE? moreResolved Question: Would you kick your parents out of there room if you bought there house?
My husbands parents are almost 70 and my husbands dad got laid off work and he was like 2 years from retiring and they have this big nice house that they have lived in forever and my husband was raised in it and all the family gatherings are at this house. They have mentioned that the idea of one of there kids buying there house from underneath them and letting them keep there master bedroom and bath...There closet literally is one third of the bottom floor of this house. She had it built that way on purpose. If it were my house theres no way that closet would waste all that room. I would make the closest half the size and still have a good size room left over for scrapbooking or sewing or whatever. What do you think? I ask in this section to get real answers from decent people...his parents refinaced a while back so we would be paying on a full price house. My husband and I are actually in the process of putting our home up for sale.i wouldn't kick them out of home I'm saying they stay in the guest room with the attached bath and we take the mastermy husband and his dad are best friends. His mom is a little off her rocker but I enjoy her company as well. moreResolved Question: Parents, there's gotta be an easier way (photo album help)?
I totally cringe at the word Scrapbooking. I have thousands of pictures that I need to just order prints of, but regular photo albums seem so boring. Scrapbooking seems like so much CLUTTER and I really don't want to deal with that. I do have an online scrapbook. Just a site with pics of my kids set up like a scrapbook. Any suggestions for easy scrapbooking? Less mess scrapbooking? Any ideas at all? Thanks!I love picnik.com. I use it all the time. Good idea. :) moreResolved Question: I need some creative ideas for christmas gifts?
I am not making any purchases for any gifts simply because i have absolutely no money. Zilch. So this year for Christmas, I want to make creative things for the people i am giving to. Any other time i have tried to make gifts they turned out cheesy and unappreciated. I want to make something special and not just a homemade card or something obviously last-minute. The people i am giving gifts to are: My mom, dad, my friend Jill, and my cousin Candice. [Short description of each person]: Mom: Loves cleaning, but doesnt like to admit it, and loves decorating. Dad: Sports FANATIC. Will pretty much watch anything sports-related. I was thinking football tickets till i discovered how much they cost. Jill: Art Genius. She can draw fantastically. She is the best artist i know, and is personally into anime and wolves. Candice: Loves shoes, kids, scrapbooking, picture-taking. (Remember guys, NO purchases. This is a top secret operation this year lol i dont want anyone to know that i am even getting them anything.) Also, I would like to add that I do have one gift done for my best friend Taylor. She lost her home to Katrina back in '05, and still has trouble calling it home over here. So I made her a DVD with a slideshow and a song playing in the background called "This Is Home" by Switchfoot. Do you think she would be offended - or do you think it will make her come to a realization? Thank you for any tips/advice/ or help! *P.S. I can sew small things such as pillows and blankets, but nothing else. moreResolved Question: I have a business idea- asking here because it has to do with parents..?

Any thoughts ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: Mommies: Besides raising your children... What is your passion (something you like to do)?
We all have one... maybe more. Something you love doing, regardless if you get much time to do it... We all still are individuals and have other loves and intrests besides our families, whether it be reading, painting, flea marketing, scrapbooking... ect. What do you love doing? Myself: I just love decorating my home. I thrive on having a comfy spot for my family and friends to relax in and always have my mind open to new ideas using old things. Mason jar soap dispensers, antique kids chairs for my little guys... old boxes for storage... antique dresser repurposed as my bathroom sink... on and on... lol And you?Oh... and I LOVE boating. Don't get to do it much, but I just love it! moreResolved Question: how to preserve Children's artwork?

I have a lot of friends. But there's 3 that are important to me. I want to get them cheap Christmas gifts but I am not completley sure what to get? I don't want to get something completley like: "Oh, this was nice of you." I want to give them somethingthat they'll like. Key words=Cheap, Nice. Suggestions? I'll put their first name initails so you'll know what to call them(lol sorry) 1)Ok, my frist friend is "M.She likes horses, and things like scrapbooking/stamping, etc. SoI'm thinking of getting her something that has to do with horse stamps or something? Is this a good Idea? 2)Her first initail is "A" I have known her for sometime now. Maybe a year? So not that much. We are practicallysisters, but don't have that much in common. She is completley a girly-girl/tomboy. I am in the middle but she plays both roles very well. She wears High heels alot, but sneakers are fine too. She's not snobby or anything. I am thinking of getting her a heart necklace. I don't want something that looks cheap, but isnt like over $10(I am buying these gifts with my own money, and I don't have a lot-I'm not selfish or cheap either) 3) "E" I have known her since the beginning of this school year. She calls this other girl her 'bestfriend' even though, when nobody else wanted to hang out with her cause she was the 'wierd new kid' I did. But still, I'm not her bestfriend. Even though she prolly is mine? No, it doesn;t make sense to me either. Her sister is in college, her mom is always traveling, and her dad is working alot but still they spend time together as a family. She gets whatever she wants-most of the time- So I'm not sure what to get her. Any simple ideas? Thanks!! 10 points for best answer!!(: moreResolved Question: Any ideas for a craft/class room?
I have 3 children (ages 3-6). I am finishing a room in the basement for our craft room / class room. The room is 12'x24'. Due to the floor being VERY unlevel and wanting to create division (between the "kids side" and "my side"), we have build a step up platform that we are going to install hardwood - it's the back 11 feet of the room. On the kids side, I'm thinking about leaving concrete and using rugs?? I plan on building a 4' half wall with a 32" walk-thru opening to enter "my side". I want the "wall" to actually be used as storage. It would be a 4' section on the left, and a 5' section on the right, being approx 28" deep to serve as cubbies on both sides of the wall. And a sold "counter top" to serve as additional work/play space. I also want to include a magnet/chalkboard painted one section of the "kids side" wall. I thought about framing a peg board also but not sure if I want to display my supplies. I possibly, eventually want to homeschool so I'm trying to plan ahead. Do you have any ideas for the layout/design for a craft room. My side will contain: sewing machine, fabric, scrapbooking items, etc. Kid side will contain; books, puzzles, paint, crayons, paper, etc, 3 desk or 1 kid size table, possible tv. I don't really want a "play room" but a learning room. Thanx moreResolved Question: Baby Shower question.....?
I am having two baby showers. My mom, sister and MIL are planning one for family and a few friends, and a co-worker and a friend are planning another one for people I work with and a few other friends. I would really like to get my co-worker and friend something as gratitude for throwing me the shower. I am not really close to either one, however, we get together on occasion to do scrapbooking projects and such together. I know they are putting a lot of effort into this shower, and would like to get them something to show my appreciation. Any ideas that aren't too expensive? They are both in their late 20s if that matters. One has two kids, the other has none. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Where can I find scrapbooking tips?

I am big on keepsakes, and scrapbooking. Thanks for you help! moreResolved Question: how would you handle all this?
this will take awhile..so you may want to wait till I'm finished, I just want to make sure I'm not being the nagging wife, for further info though..I've not said anything to him yet. My husband and I have been married for 9 years now, and before we had kids, we would always go out and have a good time, well, once we had a child, I really lost all interest in going out and partying, my idea of a nice fun night out was dinner with my husband, and maybe a movie, or bowling together, even with his friends tagging along, but not going out to clubs or bars and getting drunk anymore (we were 20 and 24 at the time) but he didn't lose that feeling, and continued to do so, and of course, I couldnt nor did I want to hire a baby sitter every other night to do so, so I began staying home more, and he began partying with friends more, ..a little info here..my family moved around alot when I was growing up, so I really didn't have any set friends, and certainly none well enough to have a girls night out with, which to be quite honest...I didn't want to have anyway, or not the partying getting drunk kind, which where I live? at 20? that was all the girls liked to do. anyway, the habit started of him being out with his friends and me home alone with our baby, until it escalated and I told him it would need to tame down a bit, there were quite a few times of almost divorces, but things worked out. I want to add here..I'm a stay at home mom, always have been since our child was born, and he works his ass off for us, so I don't mind him going out once in a while, but this was turning into an every night thing. so its 7 years later now, and he has totally toned it down, he'll go through these stints sometimes of picking up the pace, lol, but for the most part, it winds up being a once every 2 week thing, but whats bothering me is this....my life doesn't revolve around my daughters, but they are a majority of it, my 7 year old is in school, and she has alot of activities over at the church next door, so most of my friends are married, with one or more children, our idea of get togethers are scrapbooking, and tubberware parties, and child play dates at the park, I take my 7 year old to all her activities because daddy is working, however...all his friends are single, or divorced, and unattached, I have nothing in common with them..nor their girlfriends who do not have children (or do, but leave them at home to go out drinking with the lastest guy.....I have no problem with women going out, but these are the kind of women who do it irresponsibly) whats bothering me is that..it seems like our lives are going into two seperate directions...he works his butt off for us, I never have to worry about the bills or food, etc but at the same time, I have this whole seperate life from his, and vice versa, I volunteer at our church, and I have pta meetings, and I'm studying for school (I pay for that on my own) and taking care of our kids, some of my friends were actually shocked that I had a husband when he showed up one night at our daughters church choir, and everytime he goes out..its always last minute, so there is never anytime to find a babysitter so that I can join in, but I think I would end up feeling like a 3rd, or 5th, 7th ect wheel if I did go along, this became painfully obvious to me last year on his birthday, I always throw him a party, always, and so I did so this past year, and invited all his friends, which were really none of my friends, so that I didn't feel uncomfortable, I invited my mother and father along, as well as his mother and father, and his cousins (we always have a great time with them) well, at the end of the dinner party (where we were all having a great time) he left..with his friends, and I realized..he's never thrown me a party, not once, I get up early on father's day to have our 7 year old make him a father's day breakfast, and then we give him gifts, yet I've never recieved a mother's day breakfast, and thats even after our 7 year old has asked him to help her make me one, we have poker parties on every 3rd friday of the month, and this last one, I looked around and realized, all his friend are there, they are all single, and the party is always right at the time I'm putting the kids to bed, they don't tone down they're talking, nor the words they use, and if I'm not down in time after getting the kids to bed, they start without me and blind me out, till I can get down there. my question after all this is...what do I do? I feel like we are both living different lifes, I don't think he would even know the names of my friends if you asked him, but its not all bad either, he's a wonderful father, and a wonderful provider, and we still have our moments of sitting on the couch and watching a movie together, eating dinner, etc, but we have nothing in common when it comes to friends and lifestyles. I've thought about divorce on more than one occasion just because of the alone factor, while he's a great provider, and father, he's not really someone I can rely on for companionship.Army Wife, its not that I'm taking advantage of his financial support, I feel bad about my feelings because, he really is a hard worker, he works very hard to get us what we need and want, trips, extras, christmas, birthdays for the girls, but he's just clueless that I don't need a bill payer, I need a friend, companionship, etc, we both come from very hard poor hard backrounds, and I know, in knowing him..if I leave, it will be like a slap in the face to all his hard work, but when I try to get across to him that I can get anyone to pay for me, I can pay for myself, he throws off that I'm being nagging, unappreciative, etc, I'm not looking for a meal ticket here, I love my husband, and if we can make it work, then thats what I want, but I need more than just a bill payer, you know, at the end of the day, he should be the one I can tell things to, what I like, what I learned that day, my interests, but one major thing I've noticed, if I have an interest, and its not something he'sinterested in, the conversation ends real quick. I'm into ancient history, and books, and I'm studying forensics, I'd love to learn hebrew or another language, etc...but if its something he's not interested in, if its not electronics, or sports, then I have no one to talk to. moreResolved Question: Kids Scrapbooking--interested?
I am interested in teaching scrapbooking to kids of all ages. I am wondering what kinds of projects kids would be interested in. Also, how much a kid / parent would be willing to pay for classes once or twice a month. Suggestions? Ideas? Let me know. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Some good hobbies/obsessions?
I've become aware that I need a hobby. Now, I am a busy woman -- 6 am - 4:30 pm at work, have to pick up the kids, clean the house, make dinner, send the kids to bed. My husband works evenings, so I'm usually wiped by the end of the day. However, I need a hobby. An obsession. SOMETHING to lean on instead of Y!A or the TV (which I don't usually watch anyway). I've tried beading, but with a toddler and a 6 month old who will be crawling soon, I think not. I've tried working with yarn, and let's just say it didn't go so well. I've tried sewing, but it's too messy. I've thought about scrapbooking, but I don't have a place to scrapbook. Any ideas? I AM a very craft person, but I just don't have time. I was also thinking of training for a marathon. I've never done that before, and it may be fun? I don't know. Any ideas? moreResolved Question: scrapbooking for a 16 year old girl?

THANKS. moreResolved Question: How do you open a shop for pottery and other art in a small town. And to have it give back to the community?
My family has been to several places to "do your own pottery/ ceramics" and they fire them for you. (In much larger cities) Our size is maybe 12,000 pop. My goal is to open something similar to this yet allow different classes to be taught also. Ex: painting, scrapbooking, batiking, sewing, sculpture, stainglass...any mediums people (children and teenagers also) would be intrested in. A place for all ages (allow kids to have b-day parties!) Also giving teens a place to hang & show their talents. Of course the art mind has no sense of the business mind. I clearly need advice on how this could be started and where to look for financing . It would be a great opportunity for this small town in TX w/nada. Allowing families and kids to do something unique. I have many ideas and themes found by talking to others. I feel that placing some of the profits with local and international charities would be a good way to give back. (Hab 4 Hum, YoungLife, Compassion I.) Just need a place to start. moreResolved Question: Arts and Crafts Store layout and idea?

They make stickers/papers/embellishments most of their stuff is of little kids. moreResolved Question: Which project would be better for a 15 year old girl?
I'm looking for a project/craft that I can do that will take me awhile and that I can take my time with and enjoy and something that I can work on the rest of the summer. I've narrowed it down to two things and each have their own pros and cons. I want to either start scrapbooking or make a quilt. The scrapbook would be good because I have alot of pictures I need to organize, but bad because it's alot of money and kind of a waste and I don't really need stickers and fancy paper to help me remember a special occasion. The quilt would be good because it would be something I can actually use and maybe even pass on to my kids or something someday, but I have no idea how to make a quilt. Which do you think would be better? moreTop Scrapbooking For Kid Idea Links
