Voting Question: Does any one know a place where I could attempt to get a loan?

Ok... This is all complicated. I own a business, have for 8 months. It is doing well, better numbers than the previous years same time frame. I got home from a year deployment (Iraq) just over a year ago, and therefore can not prove income from one place for two years. My expected yearly income is $24,000 for now. My credit score is a 726 and will improve soon, once I pay off my debt from purchasing the business. I plan to build an apartment on top of my current salon (it is a big project - but doable) next spring. By then my credit will be higher, but I need to borrow about 50,000 for the project, and I still won't have two years of financials. I can't borrow under a home mortgage because it will be a building project (this also rules out a va loan), and I only have collateral as much as my business (6 tanning beds, computer, furniture, washer/dryer, and spa equipment). Any suggestions??? more

Resolved Question: How Do I Jump start My Spa Salon?

I have invested tons of money in a lavish spa/salon (hair, nails, massage, waxing, tanning, workout, etc), cosmetics, lingerie, wigs, top of the line equipment. I'm situated just at the edge of town in a beautiful turn of the century house. Huge sign. Very visible. My business is in a lovely quaint town called Glenwood Georgia (near Vidalia). I can't seem to attract stylists, massage therapists, or nail techs, and I have no customers. We've done flyers, radio spots, and e-mail. My target customers are hospital employees, college students and staff, teachers, and local politicians. Any suggestions on specials to attract customers. more

Voting Question: beautician therapy, is it good?

well, i am 15 and in two years time i will be able to leave school, and i am thinking of going to a beauty therapist college, but my mum says that a beautician doesnt get much money. i will do a course which will give me qualifications in spray tan, nails, makeup, waxing, skincare, massages, body treatments (spa treatments) tints. after i finished my course i will probably find ajob in a salon, i would ike a fultime job...how much do you think i will get working fulltime in a salon? after a while i would look to run my own salon, with just me working, no employees, there is a place that i could rent a room and do all my salon stuff. after paying for rent and equipment yearly and paying national insurance and tax how much do you think i will earn a year? is it worth doing becasue i suppose i have the potential to go to sixth form and get a levels and go to university but it really doesnt appeal to me and i dont know what else i can do but i need to get a good job as i am a shopaholic and love spray tans? any other comments and suggestions? more

Resolved Question: What equiptment do I need for a multi room, in-cieling speaker setup with multiple sources.?

Hey Everyone, Im sort of new to the AV game and thought that the internet could help me. I am trying to set up a multi room speaker set up in a commercial location. Its a salon and spa in case your wondering. There are currently 13 in ceiling speakers and I need to add either 3 more speakers or in wall jacks to plug in headphones. These are for tanning beds. Anyways, what is the most cost effective way of doing this. I do need volume control but I figure I could just get a box and stick it behind the reception desk. I would like the ability to run 2 or 3 or 4 different sources to the various rooms. I.e. the cutting floor gets dance music, the treatment rooms get ocean sounds etc... I am looking for opinions on the make/model of equipment that I should be getting. Any help would be appreciated. more

Resolved Question: what do you do if you are stuck on a contract with a gym?

I love going to the gym and going 6 days p/week I get my monies worth but I was sick of the ladies gym I was at that was more like a mothers club as they chit chatted and hogged all the treadmills so I went to a new one that opened near by - mixed. I didn't get to look at it first as there was cheap memberships b4 they opened and I thought 'new' what have I got to loose. Turns out that it has plenty of weight equipment but nothing to offer, no spa, pool, sauna tanning, massage facilities or even comp. toiletries only 3 showers, small mirror and soap at the basin, at least the other fitness centres I went to they had some of the above but what gets me is that they're the most expensive!! What's worse is they gym is now loaded with 18 yr pretentious delusional guys that stare so bad and make noises at you when you are trying to work out. They bring girlfriends to follow them to each workstation while they watch. I feel I have been ripped off I hate it and want out. What should I do? more
