It's my dad's 50th birthday..tomorrow. My sister's and I haven't gotten him anything. I'm 20 and studying abroad in Ireland, so I'm not going to be there and I don't really have a lot of spare cash. I know we've completely waited to the last minute, but to be honest I've been caught up in stuff here nd totally forgot. My sister's didn't say anything either. The one's still in high school, while the other works for a cruise line in Hawaii so she's not home either. None of us have a lot of money to spare. My parents are divorced, and we havent lived with him since we were little, but he's still a big part of our lives. My moms no help obviously. I don't know what to do. I know any gifts I get or things I do will probably have to wait til I get home in May, but what can I do to make his day special from where I am? My mom's 50th was last year and we got her a laptop, but she never uses it. We didn't throw a party for her and wont throw one for my dad bc they honestly don't have that many close friends. Info about dad: he works with computers, really big into electronics, movies (has a huge dvd colection, so i never know for sure if he has one i'm gonna buy for him or not), big hobby is photography, into star trek, jonny west, buffy, star wars, charmed, chess, doesnt like animals, but used to have salt water fish when we were very very young. more

Ballymena is a commercial and industrial town which is renowned for the production of cigarettes and tyres and the two big shopping centres called Tower Centre and Fairhill, which are very practical when it rains. Ballymena is also renowned for being called, “The City of The Seven Towers”. Ballymena is the hometown of actor Liam Neeson, who starred in the Films Taken and Star Wars and footballer Steven Davis, who plays football for Rangers and the Northern Ireland. Ballymena offers a multitude of things to do – for those who like to go shopping, Ballymena is a gift. There are lots of shops and every Saturday morning there’s a market, but in my opinion these shops are excessively dear. For those who like to go out, there are a lot of restaurants, pubs, and a cinema with seven screens, a well equipped leisure centre and the new town hall. I recommend a Chinese restaurant called The Red Peaches; it’s my favourite restaurant because there is a relaxed mood. Last Friday I ate a nice meal there with my family to celebrate my aunt’s birthday. My meal was first class. It’s a restaurant to consider. I have a really good friend of mine and we've been friends for 3 years. But I'm starting to get some second thoughts. Her names Alex and she's always a goody goody. She's a christian so she gets angry at me whenever I say a cuss word when really it's not a big deal for everyone else. So I usually try not cussing but sometimes I just say them accidently. The thing I really hate about her is that she always acts high and mighty. Like she had lice and it spread to me and I got really angry. So after we both didn't have lice anymore one of my friends call me up on my cell. She says Alex has lice AGAIN and she even spread it to her church group. I start texting Alex asking if she really does have lice AGAIN and I said I'm going to stay away from her for now. She replys saying "Bye" which she always does when she doesn't have anything to say. Then I text her back saying "Sorry. Sorry. Sorry." And she replies your not sorry you want to stay away from me. And I told her, Can you blame me for not wanting to get lice? And of course she replies with a "Bye" That being told I'm really pissed off so is my friend that called me up because she always does this. Acting like she's always the victim and it's our faults. In the end I apologized to her once again on Yahoo! Chat. Something else that happened with a friend of mine, named Gina got into a fight with Alex not long ago. From what I heard from Gina was alot of insults of Alex when I asked what was wrong. Gina got angry because Alex said that his little brother was ugly just because we weren't talking about Alex's little brother. She said that Carly, a friend was sitting next to Alex on the bus and showed a picture of Gina's little brother on her cell. Without knowing that was Gina's little brother Alex says "Omgosh! He is so cute!" She takes back what she said about him after Carly told her who it was. Not only that Gina LOVES chocolate and she says that she's gonna be fat when she grows up and forces her to watch Star Wars because Alex is a Star Wars freak. Not long ago it was Alex's birthday sleepover and Alex gets mad because Gina, Jenny, and I were hiding under the bed when we specificly said we were playing Sardines. But she still gets mad just because she couldn't find us. So Gina walks up to her and blows up saying how snobby she is and so Alex ran into the bathroom. And when I try to stand up to her one of my good friends Caroline, says I need to stop being mean to her and I'm like WTF?!?!? Caroline acts as if she's Alex's guardian angel or something. What should I do? Leave Alex or what? Jenny, Carly, Gina, and I secrectly talk about her pissing us off. How do I stop Alex from acting the way she is?Yeah I know I shouldn't talk behind her back but I can't help myself sometimes. I tried talking to her calmly before and she ended crying and Caroline got even madder at me. I LOVE Jenny, Caroline, Gina, Carly, and Alex I wouldn't give them up for anything in the world. I really dig this girl. I met her last year in 7th grade. She keeps telling me that she wants to see me in my birthday suit. He is a young 15 yo with a mild disability. Does not want a iPod, MP3 or MP4, CD's or DVD player, but wants my Nokia 6500 mobile. Not sporty and doesn't want a new bike, skateboard, etc. He already has a video camera and laptop this year. Has a large collection of Star Wars memorabilia, games and SW Lego. He has a Wii and lots of games. Likes Nintendo DS games and Pokemon. Likes Indiana Jones too. He has both Wii games for Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones already. Just had his birthday and I bought him the Pokemon Platinum DS game and book. He bought the Wii game Star Wars Clone Wars too. Doesn't need any new clothes as recently fitted out with new Summer gear and shoes ... growth spurts mean new clothes for some! Have bought Wii Sports Resort & 2 motion-plus, Fraggle Rock - Season 4 (He collects them), Lego Darth Tie Fighter, Shaving Gift Pack so far. That's not much and only 2 weeks to go. Every idea I give him he seems not interested in. All he really wants is that Lego Star Wars Darth Tie Fighter and that was on special when I bought it! (and he already has two other Tie fighters) Any other ideas ... PLEASE! And Thank you.I wouldn't mind a cadillac either! I already asked him about a new skateboard and scooter too but not interested. Was going to buy a table tennis table but garage just isn't wide enough to play a good game. He already has all the Star Wars dvd's but good idea though - I will check out the "Clone Wars" series 1 and a set of the Indiana Jones dvd's.Ps. Have always encouraged my son to be out there .. was in a basketball team for a couple of years, loved swimming lessons for many, many years, horse-riding, badminton etc. Has always had bikes, skooters, etc. but they don't interest him. He's just not into playing footy, cricket etc. - I have taken him to Star Wars conventions, railway museums, mini golfs etc. with friends; whatever he is interested in and much more. I don't hold him back but encourage him to try more. It is a pity a table tennis table wouldn't fit in the garage as I am pretty sure he would have liked that. more

Voting Question: Ideas for 7year old boy's party?

My son is having his 7th birthday party the weekend before Christmas(his birthday is the Monday before). I live in a very rural area so having it at a fun location is not really an option. Plus we don't have the money to do a location party this year, so its at my home. My house is a small 1100sq ft rancher. I have a pretty big yard though. I'm at a stump for ideas to entertain the kids. If its not too cold out I thought about smores by a bonfire mixed with other indoor activities. Does anyone else with winter children have any ideas? Its a Star Wars party if that helps. more

My little brother turns 13 on November 5, and I told him I'd like to get him a PS2. I need a good game to get him. I can only get him one. There are a few restrictions my mom has placed on his game-playing. I can play any game, I'm 18, but he can't -It can't be rated M. Halo is the only exception to this, but that's on Xbox anyway. -It cannot, under any circumstances, be shooting humans. -It can't have an extensive amount of language. Please, no turn-based or strategy games. He played a few and didn't like them. He loved Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, he'd like a similar game. Also, I have all four Ratchet and Clanks, and the PSP version too, plus I have all four Jak games, and both Star Wars Battlefronts. I have Burnout Revenge, and he doesn't like racing games either. He asked a bit about Final Fantasy, are there any of those that aren't turn based? So, can anyone suggest a good RPG (not turn-based) or shooter (not shooting humans) or platformer to get him?I won't have the money to buy a PS3 or 360. What part of "no M games, no shooting humans, not much language" do some of you not understand? more

I was wondering if you folks could help me find a good notebook my nephew could play games on. The reason I ask is recently my nephew had undergone the first in a series of procedure on his knees to correct some issues he had since he was young, as a result both of his legs are in plaster castes and he is stuck either in bed, or at the hospital for check-ups. He can't do much and can't sit at the computer he built that he plays games on. So The family decided to pull together some money and we planned on buying him a lap top to play games on for his birthday. In total we had managed to collect $1700 im not a computer whiz like my nephew so I was hoping you could make some recommendations. My niece gave me a list of some of the games he likes playing on his other computer so here they are: 1. Left 4 Dead 2. Guild Wars 3. Fallout 3 4. Supreme Commander 5. Command and Conquer 6.
