Star Wars Galaxy Questions asked

Open Question: Whats a great space adventure game, RPG, FPS, Maybe an RTS game, Prefably adventure?

Games Ive played that are in space, RTS Sins of Solar Empire FPS DECENT DECENT II DECENT FREESPACE RPG Mass effect Please read below for my thought on these games and hopefully youll get an idea of what I like. Or skip towards the end Please do not list any of the above games. Im still playing mass effect, and those decent games are VERY old. I mean 1995 Dos games old. But they are UNBELEIVABLY FUN and addicting. I will still play them ever once and awhile over new games such as mass effect. I love the weapons you can aquire. theres so many to. and every weapon has its purpose. Not to mention the graphics was great for the time it came out. its still pretty good in my opinion. I would like something like Decent II something with a cockpit view. Not like freespace, I Did like freespace tho for the freedome of going anywhere you wanted. It was great, unfortunatly I only had a demo and didnt play it like I did the decent games, As fun as FPS games are Sins of solar empire was a great RTS game. I Typically like to stick to Command and conquer rts games because it takes along time to master an rts, and learning to play a completely different platform can be frustrating, But solar empire is a great game with TONS of view options. You can go as close to ships with good graphics as you wish. And as far away as theentire galaxy. I like that alot. Although the ships and amount you could build was limited the graphics and interface are very well. Mass effect was the only space RPG game ive ever played. heck Im still playing it. I havnt got to far in it but Im still learning so..., anyway the weaponry seems to be very limited to a shutgun, machine gun, pistol, and sniper rifle. Although you can upgrade your weaponry it doesnt seem to change the appearance of guns, and ever gun has the same feel, spacy. The armor is the same way. This game can get very boring at times especially when theres no action With all that said hopefully someone will have something good for me to play, and hopefully its not a star wars game which is obviously a space game, but star wars never interested me more

Open Question: What do you think of this "love letter?"?

Note: She is a Star Wars nerd so bear with me, this is just a letter I'm going to give to her to let her know how I feel, so please read it and let me know what you think. names have been removed for privacy. ------------------ A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…. There was a kid who grew up in a small town. He graduated from that small town and moved to the big city with high hopes and big dreams. However, he soon found it hard to meet people and it wasn’t long before he wanted to go back home. Instead, he said a prayer: “Lord, I seem to be at a crossroads in my life. I thought I wanted a new life, but now I’m not so sure. I want to stay here, but I feel so alone. Please Lord, bring someone into my life, someone who I can care for, someone who cares about me, someone who I can enjoy every minute I spend with them. Please Lord, bring me that someone. Amen.” M******, I am that small town kid and you are the answer to my prayer. I thank God everyday for bringing you into my life. I have enjoyed the time we have spent together and to have as a friend is truly a blessing. To say that I care about you is a huge understatement. I am honestly willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy. The day you were stressed out about your welding assignments, I took it upon myself to do whatever it took to put a smile on your face. I did your homework because I care. A few months ago, you told me that you wanted one of those big teddy bears for Valentine’s Day, but you were sure your boyfriend wouldn’t get you one. Maybe you were joking, but something inside me told me I needed to get you that bear, and by God I did it, and the smile that it put on your face made it all worthwhile. I’m not going to lie; I was very hesitant about writing this letter. I had so much I wanted to tell you, but at the same time I didn’t want to scare you away. However, I feel like I am once again at a crossroads and I need to make up my mind on which road to take. One thing for sure, whichever road you decide to take, I want to be the one who walks beside you, the one who helps you through the most difficult of times and the one who laughs with you during the best of times. You mean SO MUCH to me, and you always will. You are the reason I believe love exists and you are truly the answer to my prayers from God above. I believe that if you just give me a chance, I can be the guy who you look at and have no doubt in your mind, that you are with someone who cares for you, who cherishes every moment he spends with you, who would not judge you for getting a Star Wars tattoo, and best of all, who wants nothing more than for you to find joy and happiness in your life. Thank you again for being the amazing person that you are. Yours truly, J***I've known her for almost 8 months and we are pretty good friends so this is defintely not a first move. more

Resolved Question: hey can you help me find a title for this movie im writing a script for?

hi im writing a movie script thats some time in the future when theres spaceships and stuff, so earth is going on this huge campaign to take over the galaxy, and the story stars a soldier in that campaign named adrian. so he goes with a whole lot of other people to this planet called yavin (i might change it) and goes to war with them when they dont bow to earths rule. so he and a small group of guys ambush the yavinian queens palace to try to kill the queen. their mission succeeds, but all of the men get killed, except adrian, who is taken captive and given to a woman named ducan-cianna, who is given the task of making sure he doesnt escape, while also teaching him the ways of her people. so he starts growing close to the planet, and even closer to her. finally, they, along with duncan-ciannas friend, chi and kimi, find out that the prince lelouch is planning to sell the planet to the humans, so they go on a mission to stop him. so yeah i need a title. and the people of yavin are blue (except lelouch, who is half human) and have blue crystals on their foreheads, unless they're royal, then its gold if that give you any more ideas. oh and i made this up waaaay before avatar for all you people that thought i was copying that general idea. so yeah thx!o and lindasy, i said i made this up BEFORE avatar!!!and linsday, whos says the day geys saved?!! i havent written a happily ending story since this one that i didnt even make up the plot to! more

Resolved Question: New Online Game? (Suggestions please!)?

I've been playing WoW since about two days after it started. I'm bored with it right now! D: I want to keep playing until Cataclysm, but I just don't have the want to anymore. I want another game that is almost, or just as good as WoW to play until Cataclysm... I already have played FFXI -- Which I liked, it was just hard to get used to the slow leveling compared to WoW. I've thought about reactivating my account there, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars Galaxies... or any other game any of you have to dish out that may be as good as WoW until the new expansion. Do any of you have any suggestions out of those three choices or any other games in mind? (The reasons why I've been thinking of LotR/SWG/FFXI(again) is because I love all three of these series' in the movies/games/books that were not the online versions.) more

Voting Question: Which game would you recommend for me to play? Jade Dynasty or TwelveSky2?

Previously I have played multiplayer online games like Fiesta, Flyff, 9Dragons, World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies, guild wars, ragno, Shadowbayne, Sword of the New World... Since I can't really afford to pay for a game that requires money these days and there hasnt really been many free games i have enjoyed as much as the ones you have to pay for, i'd like to download a game similar to 9Dragons which I feel is the best out of the free games I have ever played. I love the game, but i'm currently looking for something new. "Jade Dynasty" and "TwelveSky". I hear are the most similar to that. But I can't decide which one is better... Somebody give your suggestions. I'm not asking for more game suggestions... just which of these two sound or look better. Thanks! :) I look forward to your answers!! more

Resolved Question: Know anything about the Galactic Federation and the Guardian Alliance?

I have been spending the day online searching for things about the Galactic Federation, the Guardian Alliance, the Halls of Amanti...and the stuff. For people who think I am talking nonsense. This is a theory (I'd rather call it a religion) which states that the universe is in war between different strong alien forces, and there are aliens from Draco, from Sirius, from every remote galaxies and stars...we earth residents will have a place in this war, and wait, we are not even from earth--our anscestors came from M31(Andromeda Galaxy) or what so ever......You can enter 'Galactic Federation' into google and check everything out. I do think this theory is ridiculous, yet i keep wondering what if this is true, I mean, there is even a whole chronicle, the videos of alien faces, the name and speeches of alien commanders, and the species. It feels like reading the Lord of the Rings chronicle. And what really panicks me is that I can't find any voices that are against this alien theory stuff. Is it because the whole thing is just too ridiculous for people to even pay some notice to? I mean, there is a whole big theory--the aliens identities, the stars, the chronicles--it cant have been made up in a day or two, so surely people should have noticed, and tried to mark it as a fantasy or a lie . In cases like loch ness monster and 2010 end of the world, there are people who believe, and people dont give a s**t. In this case there are only the believers and those who dont know about it. Oh...anyone with any idea where this theory came from? or do you know any websites I can find some neutral/negative comments on this theory? I dont need another believer telling me i am stubborn. It panicks me that I am only receiving info from one side...I need the other side's view to keep me sane. By the way, I am not an English native speaker, never been abroad. I found the theory in my own language first, then searched in English. So if I made some mistakes in grammar, or if what I am confused about is actually from one of your famous children's book, do forgive me and tell me. more

Voting Question: Do you think NASA will ever admit that alien life exists? They seem to want to cover it up even if discovered?

NASA scientists seem to be unwilling to ever admit that extraterrestrial life exists. They won't even admit to a microbe on another planet. I think they want to keep it a mystery forever and they also have an irrational mindset that the general public can't handle the reality that alien life exists and would freak out, causing mass hysteria like in War of the Worlds. Everyone in NASA even uses the party line about alien lifeforms: "It would be arrogant of us humans to think we're the only inhabited planet in the known universe of 50 billion galaxies with 50 billion stars in each one of them." It seems this line has been drilled into everyone in NASA because they all use it like group think. NASA has been in existence for 53 years and they still haven't found even a single microbe anywhere in our solar system let alone advanced lifeforms. In 1997 the Mars Rock which was first announced to have tubular worm like fossils on it was then reversed and the markings which clearly looked like tubeworms were changed to striations in the rock itself. Even Pres. Clinton at the time announced that extraterrestrial life had been discovered but the impossibly stubborn NASA scientists then reversed it a few hours later to striations. more

Resolved Question: Can someone help with my PC/Internet problem?

Some websites won't load, they become timed out. Hotmail works, Yahoo, my banking site works, many do, but some don't. eBay, Sony's station.com, www.va.gov doesn't work either. I've looked on a number of forums that I can get to load and I've tried several suggestions they had, but the forums I could get to are all xp. I'm running vista 32-bit. I'm on Firefox right now, what I usually used, but I tried internet explorer and got the same problem. I've tried updating Java. I've tried running a spyware removal - but I couldn't download Spybot S&D (which most people said worked) but I can't connect to their site. A friend who knows more about computers than me tried something about "Open DNS" - I don't know what that means, but it didn't work anyway. I even tried restore points, but now they're coming up "unspecified error" - I've done an online virus scan too. I've tried connecting to the problem sites with my firewall turned off, but nothing. The problem seems to center around station.com, since my husband's Star Wars Galaxies game won't connect through the Station.com launcher, but that may just be becuase I can't connect to their site anyway. Anything else anyone can think of before I take it to get repaired?? Thank you!! more

Resolved Question: Can you please translate my homework into french?

I have a homework at french called "2 inventions that have changed the world" (translate that too pls). And I have written it in english, so that one of you could translate it (I don`t trust internet dictionaries). 5. Telescope A telescope is an instrument designed for the observation of remote objects by the collection of electromagnetic radiation. The first known practically functioning telescopes were invented in the Netherlands at the beginning of the 17th century. The word "telescope" (from the tele "far" and skopein "to look or see";, teleskopos "far-seeing") was coined in 1611 by the Greek mathematician Giovanni Demisiani It is an important discover for the human society because it helps us reach all the stars of our galaxy from our little planet. I think that it deserves being on this list because it really brought a huge assist for all the scientists. 4. Submarine. A submarine is a watercraft capable of independent operation below the surface of the water. The first use of a submarine in combat was the Action of 17 February 1864 during the American Civil War. The submarines are a great creation because, as the telescopes, allows us to see things that at that time, weren`t able to be seen: the underwater territory. But, comparing to the telescopes, it brings us to the place that we are seing, when the telescope only enlarges the images, letting us remain on the Earth. The submarines deserve being on this list because the world under the sea is full of misteries and crushed boats that may hide big secrets. 3. The typewriter and the typography A typewriter is a mechanical or electromechanical device with a set of "keys" that, when pressed, cause characters to be printed on a medium, usually paper. It`s appearance came with the typography, and together brought a HUGE help for the society. That`s how everything began: the papers, the books, the magazines… they actually represent everything and that`s why they are listed here. 2. The telephone The telephone (from the tēle, "far" and phōnē, "voice") is a telecommunications device that transmits and receives sound, most commonly the human voice. It is one of the most common household appliances in the developed world, and has long been considered indispensable to business, industry and government. The word "telephone" has been adapted to many languages and is widely recognized around the world. I know… it might be the most important invention. Telecommunications are really useful in the life. This is why it is the second greatest invention ever. The wheel. Most authorities regard the wheel as one of the oldest and most important inventions, which originated in ancient Mesopotamia in the 5th millennium BC. It may not be the greatest invention, but it definetly is really useful. Not to mention, everybody uses it even without knowin. But the idea of the wheel ist that it kinda represents the beginning of the discovery. And this this the reason why the wheel is THE INVENTION THAT HAS CHANGED THE WORLD. Anticipates thanks.P.S. If you have some other better sugestions... I`m opened more

Resolved Question: Is Earth anywhere in George Lucas' fictional galaxy?

The whole Star Wars thing has expanded into so many stories, thousands of side stories, so many worlds, types of characters, governments, reasons for war, militants, jedis, siths, creatures to beat the band, and even a whole fictional galaxy composed of inner-rim, mid-rim, and outer-rim territories, and YET, nowhere anywhere is Earth even mentioned! I am a huge Star Wars fan, but one day, I was thinking of this. Though Earth is boring and not essential to any Star Wars creation ever made, whether it'd be by George Lucas or any fan just writing a story based on Star Wars or a Star Wars theme. We as humans don't have the technology to expand to other planets anyway, so there is no way any space wars, empires, republics, clone wars, or any other war, or break-down or birth of a fictional government could ever encompass our world, but YET, with all the expansion and everything, you'd think Earth would, at the very least, be mentioned! Perhaps, we're located in the Outer-Rim Territories. We might be a planet known as inferior beings or a planet that doesn't exist yet due to the time period in which the Star Wars saga takes place, or perhaps its so deep in the future, our planet doesn't exist anymore. Nevertheless, why is there no mention of a human-filled planet in an 8-planet galaxy with communication droids (aka satellites), orbiting around it? I know all of Star Wars is fictional, but if it is made to be so real with all of these elaborately planned territories and systems, you'd think our planet would AT LEAST be mentioned! Any thoughts? more

Voting Question: Why did George Lucas star wars have bad science?

light sabers can't exist. Why would he assume all lifeforms in the galaxy would be civilized? and how the heck are there humans in a far far away galaxy. That implies that two species evolved exactly the same to become humans on different galaxies. Also what the heck is the force?!?! more

Resolved Question: If even possible. how long do you think it will take humans to travel at or past the speed of light?

Everyone has probably either watched a Star Trek episode or watch a Star Wars movie at some point in their life. If not you have at least heard of them. In both movies/shows traversing the known galaxy was common place and was done in days, not years or decades. Each show had developed their own method to accomplish this task, however my question is do you think the humans here on earth will ever discover a method to do so? Currently the nearest star system to earth is 4.3 light years away. That is a mere 5,865,696,000,000 (this is actually smaller then the US debt) miles from earth. At our current travel speeds of about 15,000 mph it would take us 44,640 years to get there. So if interstellar travel is ever considered, much faster means are necessary. I know Episode I meant Darth Sidious returned for revenge, and I know Episode II meant the Clones attacked the droids near the very end, and I know Episode III meant the Sith (Darth Sidious) had his revenge, and Episode IV meant Luke Skywalker is the new hope for the galaxy, Jedi, etc., and Episode V meant the Empire was getting the upper hand. But Why is Episode VI called Return of the Jedi? A.) Because the Jedi (Yoda, Obi-Wan, & Anikin) return as ghosts. B.) Because Darth Vader (Ani) is redeemed and becomes a Jedi again. C.) Luke the Jedi returns to Dagaobah. D.) The Jedi Order is resurrected by Luke. ps How come in Ep. VI Luke could see good in Vader even though in IV and V he wanted to kill him? pss How could Luke become a Jedi Knight without Yoda's training? more

Resolved Question: Why should players switch from SW: Galaxies to SW: The Old Republic?

i like the fact that you can fly a spaceship in galaxies, but from what i see, The Old Republic will just be like WoW in the Star Wars universe. how will they compensate for not being able to fly your own ship? is this gonna be like a kid version of Galaxies? im super exited about The Old Republic coming out but why is it gonna be better than galaxies? more

Resolved Question: Can someone please read this and explain to me what it means?

I know it's long, but it would really help me out if anyone could just please explain what it means. I've tried so many times and I just don't understand. Part I On either side the river lie Long fields of barley and of rye, That clothe the wold and meet the sky; And through the field the road runs by To many-towered Camelot; And up and down the people go, Gazing where the lilies blow Round an island there below, The island of Shalott. Willows whiten, aspens quiver, Little breezes dusk and shiver Through the wave that runs for ever By the island in the river Flowing down to Camelot. Four grey walls, and four grey towers, Overlook a space of flowers, And the silent isle imbowers The Lady of Shalott. By the margin, willow-veiled, Slide the heavy barges trailed By slow horses; and unhailed The shallop flitteth silken-sailed Skimming down to Camelot: But who hath seen her wave her hand? Or at the casement seen her stand? Or is she known in all the land, The Lady of Shalott? Only reapers, reaping early In among the bearded barley, Hear a song that echoes cheerly From the river winding clearly, Down to towered Camelot: And by the moon the reaper weary, Piling sheaves in uplands airy, Listening, whispers "'Tis the fairy Lady of Shalott." Part II There she weaves by night and day A magic web with colours gay. She has heard a whisper say, A curse is on her if she stay To look down to Camelot. She knows not what the curse may be, And so she weaveth steadily, And little other care hath she, The Lady of Shalott. And moving through a mirror clear That hangs before her all the year, Shadows of the world appear. There she sees the highway near Winding down to Camelot: There the river eddy whirls, And there the surly village-churls, And the red cloaks of market girls, Pass onward from Shalott. Sometimes a troop of damsels glad, An abbot on an ambling pad, Sometimes a curly shepherd-lad, Or long-haired page in crimson clad, Goes by to towered Camelot; And sometimes through the mirror blue The knights come riding two and two: She hath no loyal knight and true, The Lady of Shalott. But in her web she still delights To weave the mirror's magic sights, For often through the silent nights A funeral, with plumes and lights And music, went to Camelot: Or when the moon was overhead, Came two young lovers lately wed; "I am half sick of shadows," said The Lady of Shalott. Part III A bow-shot from her bower-eaves, He rode between the barley-sheaves, The sun came dazzling through the leaves, And flamed upon the brazen greaves Of bold Sir Lancelot. A red-cross knight for ever kneeled To a lady in his shield, That sparkled on the yellow field, Beside remote Shalott. The gemmy bridle glittered free, Like to some branch of stars we see Hung in the golden Galaxy. The bridle bells rang merrily As he rode down to Camelot: And from his blazoned baldric slung A mighty silver bugle hung, And as he rode his armour rung, Beside remote Shalott. All in the blue unclouded weather Thick-jewelled shone the saddle-leather, The helmet and the helmet-feather Burned like one burning flame together, As he rode down to Camelot. As often through the purple night, Below the starry clusters bright, Some bearded meteor, trailing light, Moves over still Shalott. His broad clear brow in sunlight glowed; On burnished hooves his war-horse trode; From underneath his helmet flowed His coal-black curls as on he rode, As he rode down to Camelot. From the bank and from the river He flashed into the crystal mirror, "Tirra lirra," by the river Sang Sir Lancelot. She left the web, she left the loom, She made three paces through the room, She saw the water-lily bloom, She saw the helmet and the plume, She looked down to Camelot. Out flew the web and floated wide; The mirror cracked from side to side; "The curse is come upon me," cried The Lady of Shalott. Part IV In the stormy east-wind straining, The pale yellow woods were waning, The broad stream in his banks complaining, Heavily the low sky raining Over towered Camelot; Down she came and found a boat Beneath a willow left afloat, And round about the prow she wrote The Lady of Shalott. And down the river's dim expanse, Like some bold seer in a trance Seeing all his own mischance, With a glassy countenance Did she look to Camelot. And at the closing of the day She loosed the chain, and down she lay; The broad stream bore her far away, The Lady of Shalott. Lying, robed in snowy white That loosely flew to left and right - The leaves upon her falling light - Through the noises of the night She floated down to Camelot: And as the boat-head wound along The willowy hills and fields among, They heard her singing her last song, The Lady of Shalott. Heard a carol, mournful, holy, Chanted loudly, chanted lowly, Till her blood was frozen slo more

Resolved Question: what do you think of my scifi short story?

I'm 15 and aspire to be a writer someday:) so here it is: They were the Firsts. They called themselves the Firstborn. To the rest of the Galaxy, they were the Makers, the God-like beings who traveled amongst a sea of stars in the search for intelligence. Their eyes fell on one small planet, a planet of roaring seas and rocky mountains. Within this planetary cradle, a race with incomparable intelligence dwelled. They were Humanity. So the Makers came, in their glittering world-ships of steel. Humanity revered them as living gods, though they were still trapped in their prisons of flesh and blood. To Humanity they brought what they considered the Galaxy’s greatest gift, knowledge. Within a few centuries, Humanity escaped their planetary prison and became a space-faring race. Years passed, the Makers still planted the seed of knowledge amongst Humanity until it came time for them to depart. The Galaxy had one hundred billion suns and there was so much to do in this cosmic ocean. So the Makers went, leaving Humanity to its own devices. As the centuries passed, the memory of the Makers faded in Humanity’s racial memory until they became far-off gods, revered as the creators of human intelligence. Humanity began to discover new technologies. Far-off suns that were before unreachable became accessible through hyperspatial technology. A Human empire began to spread across the Galaxy, bent on becoming the Galactic Empire. Emperors rose and fell but the Empire stayed stable. The Galaxy was still a melting pot of intelligences, both human and non-human when the Human Empire was formed. But Humanity rolled outwards faster than any of the other races could have thought and soon Humanity became the sole race of the Galaxy. Except for the Makers. They still watched the experiment that their ancestors had begun eons ago. In the beginning they had not been immortal. But it had been a long time since they had dwelled in flesh. They had transferred their souls to new homes of steel. Now they soared the Galaxy freely, no longer fearing the ever-present eventuality of death. They looked upon the experiment with disgust. Humanity had wiped out every intelligence that their race had labored to produce. They decided that Humanity had to be destroyed. So the Makers became the Unmakers. Humanity saw this new threat to the regime that they held for thousands of years, so begun the Unmaking War. Both sides in this war possessed the technology for weapons of war from their ancestors. But the Unmakers began to overcome the Human Empire and struck at their very heart. In the very beginning of the war, the Human Empire’s capital planet burned, and so human morale was mortally wounded. The war ravaged the entire Empire. Humans began to find that in an ironic twist of fate, their race was being wiped out. The Unmakers reaped the benefits of their conquests and sought to establish new intelligences to participate in the Unmaking War. Humanity was pushed to the very brink of extinction when the Unmakers had a change of heart brought on by nostalgia for the very old days when the Unmakers were free, the sailors of a million suns, respecting and fostering life where it existed. So Humanity’s eye fell on an outer planet, unknown until the time when it was vital to the survival of their race. So the last few hundred of Humanity landed on the planet. Then suddenly the Unmakers struck with one final cruelty. Across the Galaxy they erased every bit of evidence that the Human Empire had existed and destroyed the technology and recordings of knowledge that the surviving human colonists had had. So Humanity once again became trapped in a planetary cradle. Without aid from the ancient Makers, they were forced to find their own way in knowledge, trapped on that planet until they were worthy enough to once again venture out and find their destiny among the stars. The Unmakers still exist, still watch over the experiments of their ancestors. No longer are they encased in metal, now they exist as pure energy, free to roam the Universe forever. On a small blue planet in the outer spiral of the Galaxy, a race once again flourishes but is still trapped in their planetary cradle. They are not worthy yet. They have forgotten the history of their once great Empire and believe themselves to be native to their prison. This is the prison that they consider a paradise or a purgatory. Sometimes they wonder if they are alone, the Makers forgotten. They look outwards towards the silent Galaxy, struggling to find the answers. They know not of their prison, which they call home. They call this prison Earth. more

Resolved Question: Which is more logical? Buying Games?

We need help on who's side is logical. We are both right in a matter of ways but apparently one of us isn't being logical. Please vote on who is? Him, or Her? His Part: ok i want to get star wars galaxies for the PC online which is 20 bucks my brother in law said he would pay for me to get it and my girl said she would use her credit card to buy it , i want it today but she said i have to wait untill she gets the money , now she is getting the money back in a matter of days but she still wants me to wait , does this matter i think not she thinks it does even though she is getting the money payed back to her ???? Her Part: Okay now that was my boys part; here is mine. My logic thinking is that he can be patient and play this game when I get the money to buy it in a few days, but he says its unlogical for me to think this and that I can pay for it now on my card, but the thing is, my card is connected to my college fund which I have to use in three days. I understand I am getting the money back by my brother in a few days BUT what is wrong with waiting???Edit: We already have the game, but its a 14 day trial. It's the matter of buying the game && PLEASE VOTE! more

Resolved Question: What do you make of this situation?

I'm not an atheist, but.. We live on a tiny speck of a planet that orbits a small star we call the Sun. Our entire Solar System, compared to the Galaxy, is less than a speck. Our Milky Way Galaxy, compared to the rest of the universe, is a speck on a speck on a speck and beyond, if the Universe is infinite. And our galaxy is one of billions.. Here on Earth there is staggering beauty, love, life, joy, wonderful things as we perceive them. But there is also so much suffering and pain. Absurd, inexplicable things happen. Birth defects, horrible diseases, awful incidents, depression, loneliness. Earth is young and the human species is SO young when compared to the vast scale of universal time. We bleed, we breathe, we have to eat excrete fluids and solids and fluids to keep being, and we have to feed off other living beings to live. People are always cheating or hurting each other, whole countries go to war. If God intervenes, if God is personal, how does that account for the seeming chaos that is existence? And you may say that this is all the repercussions of original sin, but why would a loving God create such punishment to begin with if that were the case? more
