Open Question: idea for a tattoo for crash survival?

I've been thinking the past couple days about a tattoo I feel like I want/need to get. I survived a motorcycle crash Sunday leaving work, not doing anything wrong at all. We got off a little later than expected and it was drizzling and my tire caught a slick spot where oil was sitting. Thats all I remember but a coworker was behind me and said i flew over the handebars, landed on my head (wearing a helmet thankfully) then hit my knees and then kept sliding. and apparrently jumped an entire lane in midair. several people who saw it thought i was dead but here I am living and well, besides a few minor injuries. But I have 2 tattoos now, 1 is a cross with cardinals on my back for when my grandparents passed away but the birds look terrible and are fading bad. then i have a arm piece with a shark and surfboard with a nautical star and a couple other things on it to represent something important to me. the one i am contemplating now is something along the lines of "blessed, not lucky", basically is the concept i am shooting for. I would like a phrase or quote along these guidelines and possible adding angel wings in a tribal design on the outside of it either on my ribs or across my shoulder blades, without the wings on the back. I am a tattoo artist part time, well its been a while since i worked in the shop, but i am very creative but sometimes you need extra ideas from others. so what do have? please dont say tattoos are stupid, you'll regret them when you get older, no I wont, i dont get stupid things, all mine are things that have influenced or affected my life to the point I am at now. this wont be seen when I walk around, something personal to me to look back on and realize how close I was, basically "halfway to heaven" which coincidentially is Brantley Gilbert's new cd that came out this week which I have been waiting for for over a year and right before the accident I was talking about so I also thought about getting halfway to heaven instead of the other phrase. sorry for the ramblin on, please someone shoot me some ideas. thanks y'all more

I'm 16 and was thinking about joining the military, most likely the Marines, or the Army Rangers. Though I have 2 tattoos, one is a cross and a snake around it, with tribal behind it, on my arm, but when wearing a T shirt it is not visible. and the other is a black tribal lion head on my leg, and is visible when wearing shorts...will that prevent me from getting into either of the marines or rangers? more

Resolved Question: Cost for a cross tattoo covering most of my back?

Alright, so i really want to get a tattoo and initially i was thinking of getting a cross over my right shoulder blade, so not very large. But the more i think about it, i would love to get the cross much larger covering most of my back. I was thinking of having it run from in between my shoulder-blades down quite a ways and have the two arms of the cross just below my shoulder blades...obviously i'd want it to be symmetrical. There isn't much detail, at least doesnt seem like too much to me. Resolved Question: joining the marines with a tattoo?

I have a cross with tribal design on the side of my leg. Its definitely not small but its not like a huge sleeve that covers my entire leg. I talked to two different recruiters about it and one said it wouldn't fly and the other said it was fine. Not sure which way to go about it but its bugging me because I really want to join the marines soon. I always heard that it couldn't be gang related or offensive and it cant be seen while wearing a uniform. Clearly my cross is not offensive and it can be easily covered up.I would be sincerely ticked if a guy can get in with a demon tat and I couldn't because of a christian cross on my leg. no offense to the guy with the demon. more

People are not religious, vermins in them, such as viruses, microbes, germs, and vermins on them such as mites are religious. These creatures need to be tribal so they can get directions as to what to do. For example people due sacrificial ritual. That is why the son of Prince Charles was sent to learn the art of killing through war. He has to be a blood shedder to rule. So he has been chosen to replace his father and he will kill if needed. But is the person that was trained? No. The nastiest bacteria in that boy were made ready. So no one can be a ruler without being hosted by killer bacteria. So people are not religious, tiny sea creatures living underground that have conquered earth and all its contents using their invisibility and fear of the blood species are. Note that religion Means Re's legions, the Greek bacteria that rule with Ra. So whether you are black, white, yellow, .... you can hate your own race and even your own flesh and blood once you are hosted by these poop and decaying flesh eating monsters. So when you see a poor or rich person wearing a cross, you have seen the roman bacteria that have bought the bodies of these people. You have seen a temple walking by manned by bacteria, viruses, or some other types of monsters. Why do they show the cross on their temples is because they want to intimidate any rivals that want to steal them using religions. Some bacteria marked their temples by making them handicap, through tattoos, through wearing garments, through all types of means since missionaries are thieves. Cross wearing temples tell that these temples are occupied already. Since we are living under the sea, sea creatures deceived us into letting them use our bodies for protection. I'm 20 and I got my first tattoo when I was 16... It's just a tribal heart on my upper back.. nothing meaningful or anything except that my mom has the identical one on her too. So I've wanted the word "strength" for years now because that's what my name means, and I wanted it on the back of my neck but since I got that heart tattoo, it wouldn't really fit there. I've seen these kids (typically 18-late 20's looking) in every major city I've lived in. They typically hang out in touristy areas. WHAT ARE THEY? Is there anywhere on the web that talks about them?? Clothing style= Black and brown cotton/denim. Unidentifyable slogans crafted on, like with a paintbrush or sharpie. Torn off sleeves, ripped off cutoffs. Boots= always leather army boots. CROSS laced. No bright colors at all. No accessories except maybe shoelace necklaces. No nail polish or makeup. Jewelry = NO SPIKES OR O-rings.....just the occasional nose ring or earrings. Always silver or iron looking. No gems. Sometimes a leather belt-like bracelet on one wrist. Tattoos= Also minimal, often on the face. No words just tribal like decoration, blackwork. Look homemade.and are simple. Hair style = Practically always home-done dreadlocks. Shaved undercuts. Artificial coloring or bleaching is rare and minimal. (like one odd highlight...) Accessories= MOST COMMON= Camping-sized backpacks, sometimes even with musical instruments (violin, guitar, bongo). Sometimes the cases look expensive and sometimes they don't. PASTTIMES = Hanging out in public parks in a circle with mongrel dogs on rope-leashes. Rumor is that they travel the country on black-painted school busses or campers. Also a rumor that they fix up and squat in abandoned buildings. PUBLIC INTERACTION = Hands out 'zines" with titles like "FIX IT UP!" or "STOP ****ing and START A REVOLUTION!". Sometimes even panhandle with signs that ask for specific items "NEED SHOELACES" or "NEED FLOUR". I've never seen them ask for money specifically. They don't give the "Panhandler's Pitch" either None of that "dude I need 3 bucks for the bus and my mom's sick blah blah blah.." I've seen these kids in every major city I've lived in. They typically hang out in touristy areas. WHAT ARE THEY? Is there anywhere on the web that talks about them?? Clothing style= Black and brown cotton/denim. Unidentifyable slogans crafted on, like with a paintbrush or sharpie. Torn off sleeves, ripped off cutoffs. Boots= always leather army boots. CROSS laced. No bright colors at all. No accessories except maybe shoelace necklaces. No nail polish or makeup. Jewelry = NO SPIKES OR O-rings.....just the occasional nose ring or earrings. Always silver or iron looking. No gems. Sometimes a leather belt-like bracelet on one wrist. Tattoos= Also minimal, often on the face. No words just tribal like decoration, blackwork. Look homemade.and are simple. Hair style = Practically always home-done dreadlocks. Shaved undercuts. Artificial coloring or bleaching is rare and minimal. (like one odd highlight...) Accessories= MOST COMMON= Camping-sized backpacks, sometimes even with musical instruments (violin, guitar, bongo). Sometimes the cases look expensive and sometimes they don't. PASTTIMES = Hanging out in public parks in a circle with mongrel dogs on rope-leashes. Rumor is that they travel the country on black-painted school busses or campers. Also a rumor that they fix up and squat in abandoned buildings. PUBLIC INTERACTION = Hands out 'zines" with titles like "FIX IT UP!" or "STOP ****ing and START A REVOLUTION!". I am coming to realize many tattoo artists don't actually put their heart and soul into their work. So you may get a "quality" tattoo, but as an artwork it's not very good at all. And who can blame them? They do it for a living, and most people come in asking for skulls and crosses and tribal bands that they've had do to a thousand times before. Unfortunately sometimes even if you have a great concept, the "artist" just treats it like a job. It's the same thing with bands that got famous and have a ton of records, like green day, or dream theater, or children of bodom. In the beginning their music may have been creative, but after so many years they're just mass producing garbage. So, how do i find a tattoo ARTIST? Preferably someone who's talanted and skilled but is still trying to build a portfolio and would put his/her heart and soul into the work more

Hey, I'm a 16 year old male (17 in 2 months) and I'm visiting the tattoo parlor to get a tattoo (Obviously, parents don't mind). I've already got one tattoo of a tribal wolf on my left inner arm and I'm thinking of getting another one or two. I've been thinking about tattoos for ages, I've been started to think about the tats I'll get when I'm older. A full sleeve tattoo on my left arm, also on my right arm that coincides with the wolf I've got. A cross with wings on the sides on my neck, with N.M. inscribed on the cross (my parents initials) and so on. So, at the moment, I've been thinking and thinking of which tat to get since I'll be visiting the shop soon. 1) Carpe Diem "Seize the Day" written on a stylish font (nothing big) across my left shoulder 2) N.M. as I mentioned, my parents initials written on my inner left wrist (nothing big once again) Around 7 months ago, I was an inch away from getting a tattoo of a Buddhist prayer on my left inner arm. Is it a trend or is it here to stay?? I think it's gotten waaay too trendy in the past five years or so where there is no possible way it's going to be in style much longer. Furthermore, look how out-dated all those people who got tribal bands and tramp stamps in the late 90s look today. For the last few years it seems like the trend has been big and colorful and "original" and getting ink in more apparent parts of the body (lower arms, neck, face, etc)... But seems to me that everyone is just being the same by trying to take it to that next level and be different... and in a few years we're all gonna be stuck with the equivelant of a tramp stamp in places that aren't coverable by a t-shirt. I mean come on... once they start selling t-shirts at the mall that say... "Sorry, I only date boys with tattoos" I think it's pretty clear that the whole tattoo thing is on its way out. And don't even get me started on all these kids stretching their earlobes to ridiculous sizes. A good rule of thumb is to NEVER follow a trend that you will not be ditch once the fad has fizzled. Thank god nobody gave me the option of surgically attaching those canary yellow, size 40 Cross Colour jeans to my body back in the 7th grade.... that's all I'm sayin. For the record I have quite a bit of ink... and I don't plan on stopping. I haven't done any stretching... although I've been contemplating it over the last four years or so. I stated a fact... that getting tattooed is currently trendy. But I know not everyone who gets a tattoo is simply jumping on the bandwagon and following the trend. But you can't deny that it's more popular than ever... and it's almost weird to meet someone who doesn't have one these days. That's how things go out of style... and I'm sure it pisses off a lot of people who used to get tattooed because they wanted to be outsiders and be true rebels or because they are really into the artform. Compare it to when you really like a band that isn't well known... You like them because you feel like only you and a select few know the band and are in "the club". But as soon as the band blows up and everyone likes them... it's a lot less fun to be in the club now that everyone belongs. It's much the same when it comes to tattoos. But to deny that getting tattooed is not currently a trend... I stand by what I said, and believe that is a naive thought.I actually like the point that Angie made... "Tattooing is not to be compared with bellbottoms, but you could compare barbed wire arm band tattoos specifically to a trend like that." This is a fair comparison. I guess people are always gonna wear pants... but the style of pants is what changes. But at the same time this brings me back to my Cross Colours analogy. The beauty of pants however, is that you can can take them off and give them to The Goodwill after your friends decide that they're no longer cool.And Dyllan...as I've stated, I have my fair share of tattoos. And I'm still posing this question. It's a lot easier for a guy with tattoos to take your position than mine. It's like asking a guy who just got a bowl-cut if he thinks bowl-cuts are lame. Chances are he's probably gonna stick up for his hairstyle... as he should. But if every kid on the block also had a bowl-cut... I'd say that maybe he just got a bowl-cut because everyone else did it. I'm just one of the kids on the block saying, "hey, is my hair kinda lame?"
