if so how many what of and when did you get your first? did they have spiritual or functional meaning? my first two where when I was 14 , a helm of awe on my right forearm, and a sorta Celtic knot work surrounding some runes (it's a family tattoo) on my shoulder. I have a a fang that looks like it's frozen going from my left shoulder to my forearm. in the middle of my shoulder i have a Viking shield with a Teiwaz, in the middle of it. and on both sides of it i later had two wolves facing it added. I have an Uraz on my right wrist. and an Ansuz on my right wrist. and a dragon holding onto a Gebo rune on my right hip. and yes they all have great meaning to me.since everyone is mentioning piercings as well i might as well list mine. Okay, I have posted many tidbits of this story before. I am 11 and I'm trying to get as much feedback as possible. This is the whole of chapter seven: It was a few days after the skin boating incident. Things had gone back to normal. Well, as normal as things could get at that moment. All memory of the demon and who Aklika was, and the skin boating, had seemed to leave everyone who had known. Aklika was beginning to get used to the salty air and the endless water, and the food, although she still felt trapped away from the forest. She didn’t have much of the forest with her, except what was in her pack. She walked barefoot along the shore, letting the cool seawater drift in and out over her feet. The necklace her brother had made her dangled freely around her neck, and her skin was beginning to tan from the sand. She had gotten much taller, and was looking more and more like a woman every day. She wore a long dress made of a very light material that didn’t get too hot. It was dyed a bright blue and had a fringed bottom. Her long, dark brownish red hair hung about her loosely and her striking green eyes were looking for someone. She stopped for a moment, looking out to the pale horizon that the sun was peeking out from behind. The water was a pale grey with silvery sea foam. Tenrek dashed down through the sands, his hair cropped short and messy. His skin was slightly tanned and his blue green eyes stared at her. She looked like the world mother in the pale light coming from the tiny sliver of sun coming up from the horizon. “I made it. I almost woke Denrai.” He shook his head. “That could have been very bad.“ Aklika laughed under her breath. Tenrek’s brother could be very temperamental, but she was beginning to like him. He had his ways. “Did you bring what we need?” Tenrek nodded. He brought out his blue slate knife with the whalebone handle, seal fat, and salmon skin. Aklika grinned, satisfied. She reached her hand into her pack and pulled out her knife made of greenstone and deer bone handle with her clan tattoo carved into it, some boar fat she was going to use for oiling her bow, and twine made from willow switches. “We have to make this offering, and soon. The world mother is angry. We need to try to help her calm.” Tenrek looked at her green eyes. There was a sincerity he had never seen in her before. “How will this help?” he asked. “I told you already. We each take a lock of our hair, as if we were making an offering to the guardian. But we twist our hair together, then tie them together with our twine twisted together, then mix out fats that we have brought and smear it on the hair.” “Which helps how?” Tenrek inquired. “We are mixing sea and forest. It shows we want peace.” Aklika held her knife to a lock of his hair, cut it off, and laid it on a rock. He did the same to her with his knife. Next they took their own versions of string and twisted them together, tying the hair together. Then they mixed the fats and smeared it all over the locks. Aklika added an eagle feather for bravery and Tenrek a shark tooth he found on the beach, blackened with age, for strength. They both held it in their hands that were locked together, and a powerful wind blew. “World mother,” she began. “We come to you for peace. We wish no harm, unlike others. Help us!” They let the bundle go and the wind swept it away. The air seemed to be lighter, and the sea calmer. Tenrek breathed a sigh of relief. Aklika grinned. The sun began to rise higher, and the sky was filled with brilliant shades of pinks and yellows and pale oranges and lavenders. The sun was a pale yellow that shone brightly. They both looked at each other. It seemed to have worked. “By the sea mother, I did not think it would work. How did you know?” Aklika smiled wider. “I saw the willow mage do something like that to make peace with the forest mother for a hunter breaking clan law. The hunter had killed a wolf. She took the fat from the wolf, smeared it on a lock of the hunter’s hair, and tied it with a willow switch. I figured I could change the ceremony a bit and make amends with the world mother.” Tenrek stared at her in amazement. “You are quite a puzzle to me. Let’s get going before Tliko or someone comes after us.” Before they could take a step, both of them stopped. Aklika’s striking green eyes got wide and she became very pale, making her green clan tattoos very obvious. She moved her hand to her brother’s amulet quickly. Tenrek’s hand also moved to his shark tooth necklace. His face went became stone cold, and his eyes were focused on the thing. Both of them stood frozen in their places, their bare feet glued to the sand. It sat on the large rock they had used for the offering. It’s sickly ashen, wrinkled, skin was paper thin. It’s large bloodshot eyes were fixed on both of them. It’s lips curled up into a snarl, revealing sharp fangs that had turned green. It curled it’s talons around a small stone, and scurried off.Aklika closed her eyes, wanting this nightmare to be over. Tenrek didn’t move. She wanted to cry. She wanted to tell Tenrek everything, but Tliko had forbidden her. “Tenrek? Are you alright?” She moved over to him and found he was shaking with fear. “A-a-a demon. On the beach. On the shark island. It cannot be!” His eyes were distant. He didn’t seem himself. She stroked his clan tattoos, and put her arm around him. “It’s alright. It will not hurt you.” Her voice sounded more shaken than she would have liked. “It’s gone. It will not hurt you.” He turned to face her. They stared at each other for a long time. Then, once Tenrek had stopped shaking, they went back to the village. Aklika had already been contemplating something as she was comforting him. She was endangering everyone. She was only trouble. There was no other option. She had to leave. And she had to find the Spirit Hunters soon. That meant leaving the Shark clan. that meant leaving Tliko, and Sheshki, and Denrai, andTenrek. . It meant leaving the life she was beginning to rebuild. It didn’t matter. She couldn’t endanger them any farther. If the demons were after her, they would follow her, and leave the shark island. It was the only way. After she had lead Tenrek to his shelter and swearing him to secrecy, she left for her shelter. She no longer shared one with Sheshki, for they had now accepted her into the clan. Her decision pained her. Aklika got everything in her pack ready. She had to have some way of letting Tenrek know what she was doing, to say goodbye. If she told him in person, he was sure to stop her by calling Tliko over. No. I should leave him something, something he can remember me by. She searched through her pack, until she found a few willow switches and feathers for arrow making.She wove the switches together to make a bracelet. Next she wove the feathers in so that they dangled from the switches. She put it aside, then found a stone that was a bright green, like her eyes, and used some of the powder Magia had given her to paint her clan tattoo on it. He would know it was her who left it. She was almost crying the whole time she was preparing to leave. She emerged from her shelter. It wasn’t quite evening yet. Aklika looked around for Tenrek. She saw him arguing with Denrai. She went over to them. “Tenrek, give it back!” Denrai shouted. “I told you for the last time, I didn’t take your boat! It must’ve floated away or something. I don’t know what happened to it!” Aklika felt a pang of guilt. She had taken a skin boat from the shore for her plan. “I’m not going to stand here arguing over something that I have nothing to do with!” Tenrek walked away from Denrai. It was too late to say anything. “Tenrek, I heard there are supposed to be a lot of lichens wawashed up on the far shore. Wanna go try and catch some?” Tenrek loved roasted lichens. They were his favorite thing to snack on. He couldn’t say no. They walked together down the beach. They talked a little, and Aklika tried to hide her regret and sadness. The sun was slowly hunkering down for a quiet sleep. They found the far side of the beach, and there were no lichens. Aklika had lied, she just needed an excuse to spend time with him before she left. “Oh well,” she said. “I guess they got swept away with the tide.” Tenrek could sense the sadness in her heart, and the regret in her eyes. “Is something wrong?” he asked her. “I’m fine.” she lied. Tenrek knew she was lying, but he said nothing. They found a few pieces of driftwood and started a small fire. The fire blazed a pale green. The sun was setting and the sky was ablaze with color. Aklika had seen nothing like it before. She would miss this place.It was beginning to get late, and time was racing toward Aklika till it was time to leave. She looked at Tenrek one last time. “It’s getting late.” she said in a sad voice. She looked his face over. She would always remember his bright blue green eyes that reminded her of the ocean, that made it impossible for him to lie. She would remember his face, the soft handsome features. She would remember his laugh, that held the happiness of the world. But most of all, she would remember the kindness he had showed her that first time she had met him. She had nearly drowned, and he rescued her. He had made sure she was okay before giving her off to Tliko. He was a true friend.Aklika had to look away for fear of crying. He was like a brother to her. “Goodnight,” she whispered. “Goodnight,” he replied. He wanted her to stay. He reached his hand out to her, but she kept moving. “Aklika, wait-” he called. She was gone. He sighed, and puts the fire out. She moved quickly. Hurrying to Tenrek’s shelter, she left her gifts and went back to get her things and a skin boat. She had stolen a gutskin parka from Tenrek, but he hadn’t noticed. She quickly changed into it, and dragged Denrai’s boat and paddle out to the sea, and paddled. She paddled faster than she had ever done. She took one last long look back, dried her tears, and went forward, without another glance back.Sorry about any grammar mistakes. Okay, I haven't finished this book yet, but does this sound like a powerful ending that might lead to a second book? Aklika's knees buckled underneath her at the realization of what she had done. Her beloved brother Thezia lay dead, or very close to death in front of her. His blood was spilled all over the Flowers that filled the small meadow. It was horrid. She clambered to her feet and used earthblood mixed with red ocher to make the death mark on his forehead. She tried to ignore the spirit hunter tattoo on his forehead. A soft warm rain was falling around them. Aklika ran her hands through her dead brother's red hair. He had a slight smile on his face. Tenrek came and kneeled by Aklika. The large puckered scar on his leg showed. "Aklika, I'm sorry. I know it was hard for you but-" Aklika cut him short. "But it was best for the clans. I know, but he was my brother! We are bound by the blood!" she whispered, nearly sobbing. "This place, we used to play here as kids. We were the only ones who knew about this." Aklika's red hair was glued to her face by the rain. Her green eyes were filled with tears. Tenrek lifted her head with one large hand. "Don't worry. His spirits will find their way to the tree of life and be reborn. Voting Question: regarding tattoo thick early scabbing and melting due to a little bepanthen?

i have recently got my 7th tattoo done, which is a tribal style wolf in black on the right side of my belly, bordering on my ribs and hip. I had it done on saturday 24th january and today ( one day later) i woke up to the sight of thick scabbing. I followed the procedure i usually do, washing it with ph neutral dove soap, and then rubbing a thin layer of bepanthen in it. This scabbing is EXTREMELY thick and i haven't experienced this with any of my other tattoo's, although it is my biggest one so far and filled in with black ink. The most scary part so far is that after i creamed it once this afternoon with bepanthen, it has become very moist and the scabs will move to the touch. I am pretty sure this is not an infection, but would like to know if the thick scabbing is an ordinary occurance withstomach tattoo's, as ecery movement crunches your stomach. thank you. more

I'm getting a tattoo on my back. My best friend drew it its a crest looking thing with double K's back to back for my mom and sister. Their names are Krystal and Kaitlyn. Im in the Stafford/Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania area in Virginia and I have always wanted to rescue a wolf dog, I have been researching and researching and have tons of information on the animal itself, however, the exact laws are kind of confusing. http://www.wolfdogalliance.org/legislation/statelaws.html states: "VIRGINIA Pure wolves are not allowed entrance into the state for private ownership. Hybrid wolves are no longer regulated by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, but per a mandate signed into law amending Chapter 918 of the Code of Virginia, "Any county, city or town may, by ordinance, establish a permit system to ensure the adequate confinement and responsible ownership of hybrid canines. Such ordinances may include requirements pertaining to: (i) the term and expiration of the permit, (ii) the number of hybrid canines that may be owned by a permittee, (iii) identification tags or tattooing of the animal, (iv) where the animal may be kept, (v) handling of the animal while not on the property of the owner, and (vi) information required to be provided when applying for a permit, such as the sex, color, height, vaccination records, length, or identifying marks of the hybrid canine. The ordinance shall not require that hybrid canines be disposed of by the owner unless the owner fails or refuses to obtain or renew any required permit or violates a provision of the ordinance or any other law pertaining to the responsible ownership of the hybrid canine. The locality may impose a permit fee to cover the cost of the permitting system." Under 3.1-796;8, "As used in this article; 'adequate confinement' means that, while on the property of its owner and not under the direct supervision and control of the owner or custodian, a hybrid canine shall be confined in a humane manner in a securely enclosed and locked structure of sufficient height and design to (i) prevent the animal's escape; or if the hybrid canine is determined to be a dangerous dog pursuant to 3.1-796.93; I, the structure shall prevent direct contact with any person or animal not authorized by the owner to be in direct contact with the hybrid canine, and (ii) provide a minimum of 100 square feet of floor space for each adult animal. Tethering of a hybrid canine not under the direct supervision and control of the owner or custodian shall not be considered adequate confinement." "Hybrid canine means any animal which at any time has been or is permitted, registered, licensed, advertised or otherwise described or represented as a hybrid canine, wolf or coyote by its owner to a licensed veterinarian, law-enforcement officer, animal control officer, humane investigator, official of the Department of Health, or State Veterinarian's representative." Sections 3.1-796.126:10 and 3.1-796.126;ll provide that any canine hybrid which has committed depredations on livestock or poultry may be immediately killed by anyone witnessing such depredations, and also provide for remuneration of the livestock or poultry owner." Fortunately and unfortunately, I wasn't a late bloomer. The latest development of the wolf inside was at the age of sixteen - but that's rare. The cool night air ruffled my long brown fur. Well, you might mistake me for a bird whizzing so fast by or you probably cannot see me with me being well blended. And what if someone did see me? Would anyone believe them?
